Not a good experience at Lily's Garden
THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED before any other guests stay. Description & photos on Hotels.com not accurate . Accommodation are in the basement of a house. No outside lighting- had to walk down steep grass hill- there was 1 small solar light that did not light up much of anything. Garbage bags outside entrance way. Room was not clean. Beds only had fit sheet and blanket on each bed- no top sheet Bed cover was stained. Contact host she said she would send " her staff" to deal with it."Staff" was the girl friend (named April) of the upstair boarder who had no idea where anything was- was on phone with Lily to learn how to access sheets and covers( she handed me sheets said she had an uber waiting for her outside & left me to make up my own beds . (Note reviews in Nov were written" by April"- was that the upstair boarder's girlfriend who posted on Hotels .com site giving 10/10 rating so all sounds good but then you dig a little deeper go back to earlier reviews and you see very poor reviews 2/10 and 4/10. If I had seen these I never would have reserved a room here. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this accommodation . Mats in bathroom were dirty- spiders in bathroom. The towels were stained. Was called a B and B but there was no breakfast just outdated rotten food in fridge. Jar of Instant coffee in room.Advertised sound proof walls but we could here people walking around upstairs above us and here other guests in basement floor. Overall poor PEI accommodation experience .
Felt like Home
Stayed here as part of a cross country trip and it was very nice to stay in a comfortable home instead of a hotel. I like hotels but Lily's garden felt like home which was a very nice change of pace and perfect for feeling Charlottetown. The location was very convenient with a car as it was less than 1 minutes to get to the touristy spots in Charlottetown. The areas were all clean and the other guests were quests were quiet and respectful as well. There was free wifi and laundry which was a huge help! Would definitely stay here again.
I just returned from a wonderful stay at Lilly’s Garden. The accommodations were fantastic—clean and inviting. The standout for me was the staff; their hospitality was unmatched. They made sure I had a great experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back!
I had a lovely experience at Lilly's Garden! The accommodations were cozy and stylish, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist. It’s clear they truly care about their guests. Highly recommend!
What a charming place to stay! Lilly’s Garden exceeded my expectations with its beautiful accommodations and outstanding service. The staff were courteous and attentive, making sure every detail was spot on. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and am already looking forward to my next visit!
I recently enjoyed a fantastic experience at Lilly's Garden. The accommodations were exceptional—modern, cozy, and immaculate. What truly made my stay special was the incredibly helpful staff. Their warm hospitality made me feel valued and cared for. I can’t wait to come back!
My stay at Lilly’s Garden was absolutely delightful! The room I had was spacious and clean, with a lovely ambiance that made me feel right at home. The staff were fantastic—so welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Charlottetown!
I just had the most wonderful stay at Lilly's Garden in Charlottetown! The accommodations were not only comfortable but beautifully decorated, making it a perfect retreat. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
CheckIn a bit confusing but we got it worked out
Everything was excellent. Thank you.
Lillys Garden has always been one of my favorite places to stay. The owner is very kind, and easy to speak to.
We stayed 10 minutes and left, the place is a Hostle not a B & B, The back barbeque patio was un-useable, They told us, no food as it doesn't say Breakfast in the amenities, it doesn't say beds either are included. No shopping plaza attached, almost 4 KM, they state its a 4 star, thats their rating, 2.5 at best, they refused to refund our money even for the 2nd night as we left immediately no refund policy as once you get there everyone would want one, They claim sound proof rooms, total lies, you can hear the toilet flush.
We will return for sure Maybe just more bright lighting on the path to the entry downstairs
Our first impression was inaccsessability- steep walk to the basement door which was partly blocked by foliage and the solar lights were not working. The decor ( cushions, pollows, sheets, bed quilts) were well- used, un- matched just thrown together. The bathtub taps were loose in the wall, the toilet and tub were 2 steps up with no railings or grab handles anywhere and the toilet was not clean. There were other peoples' toiletries in the bathroom and re had to rummage for toilet paper. We had to ask for coffee as the coffee pods in the communal kitchen were not for either coffee machine. The caretaker was very friendly and more than eager to help
Property in total darkness after sunset , had very hard time finding address, Bed was falling apart, towels with holes, big pile of garbage in kitchen, no breakfast, no coffe, no staff.
Over priced
The conditions of the room did not match the price.
A lovely quiet place enjoyed my stay
Stayed one night in room #3 in a walk-in basement, with a dedicated bathroom to the room across the hallway from the room, as advertised. There were multiple rooms - like a boarding house. Host communicated by text message and was welcoming and provided detailed and helpful instructions. Lovely backyard, access requires walking down a gentle slope through the backyard. Common area was charming in character. Interior of room felt dated but offered all advertised amenities. The wall with adjacent occupied room seemed paper-thin as we could hear the neighbouring guest’s conversation very clearly and the sound of their mattress springs as they moved around, which was so loud as if it was happening right in our room! Very poor privacy due to poor sound insulation. Cleanliness of room and bathroom was barely acceptable because the refuse baskets were not emptied in both rooms prior to our arrival, which means they were filled with refuse left behind by previous occupant. The floor in the bedroom has not been mopped because some hair and dust was present when I wiped the floor with a paper tissue in two different places. The bathroom faucet exhibited calcium lime (or toothpaste?) rings/stains, meaning it may have not been cleaned. Despite these deficiencies the rooms displayed an overall state of tidiness and cleanliness, and clean linens and towels were provided. We had a restful night.
Nice room, comfortable bed. Bathroom was in another room but was not shared. No air conditioning. Several sets of instructions were sent at different times outlining room location, entry codes, parking, etc. This was a bit cumbersome.
Quiet convenient
Great
Good stay. Would be great to have breakfast. They used to have it in the past.
It was a nice quiet bed and breakfast with a comfortable room and WiFi.
Parking was not really good. They all had to park one behind the other in one line and if someone wanted to get out that was between two cars , they would’ve had a hard time our bed sheets were not big enough. They kept falling off the bed they had twin sheets and comforter on a double bed They were accommodating when we needed toilet tissue and we had to ask for towels and pillows for our 3rd person. They were set for two but reserved for 3 people.
Last minute room change. Had booked a double room, then turned out to be two single beds. Hostess then offered a double room on the main floor after i complained. Located on a quiet street but no signage. Coffee was available in the morning, but no cream or sugar. No breakfast items available despite it being advertised as bed and breakfast. Inside the home was messy and disorderly. The Christmas tree was still standing in early August! Lily was friendly and tried to be helpful but just not sure this place is ready for guests.
The overall property was fine, but the #3 room had two beds which were hard as rocks and the #3 bathroom lighting was too dim to shave in. The manager was great and got bedding for the second bed, when asked.
Good
Quaint room. Spotty internet connection, entrance not inviting however it was easy to check in.
the home (not the advertised 4 star hotel) had every conceivable space rented out at an exorbitant rate. no air conditioning and fan only put out air - nothing cold - the room had no lock so any one could come in, the parking was extremely difficult so we were blocked in. never saw anyone who worked there. would not stay there again and would not recommend anyone else stay there.
Private bathroom is very good. Would be better if there was a hairdryer in the room.
When we arrived our room had not been cleaned. The staff was super helpful moving us to another room but it left a negative first impression. There was also no breakfast included - unclear if there should have been.
Whole contactless chec-in is a bit creepy. Staff we did encounter on phone or in person were slow to help and a bit impolite.
Everything suited my needs. Lily's was excellent.
Unusual property with self help kitchen. Lots of common lounging areas though dated. Terrible lighting in room.
My husband and I stayed 3 days and used Lily’s Garden as base to go around PEI. The place was spotless. In addition, Lily maintains a very well equipped kitchen, with cutlery, pans, plates, cups, microwave, stove and other small appliances that makes for a convenient stay. The room had a silent air conditioning, which I highly appreciated. Additional features included washing machine and dryer and freshly brewed coffee in the morning and outdoor chairs to enjoy a nice coffee in the morning or to enjoy wine while sitting outside.
This property is in a residential neighborhood surrounded closely by single family homes. The neighbors hate this place and make that very, very clear if they see you or you see them. The internet service is slow and unreliable, and cell phone reception is limited. The outside lighting is very poor especially if you are coming at night or leaving early in the morning.
Breakfast was a dozen eggs in the fridge and a loaf of wonder bread. Kids cereal. Very noisy from other rooms . Tv was there but not hooked up to anything.Bed was a old bed very low to the floor should be thrown out . Have stayed in many B&Bs on the east coast and this was the worst.
Property needed a little maintenance, o think there was a wasp nest at the backyard sitting area, several flying around. House was very noisy, could hear people in next room and floors were creepy. Bathrooms were private but ours was not in the room it was outside in the main area. More could have been offered in kitchen, no fruits or little snacks. Furniture was old and either had no springs or was creeping. Location was good, restaurants and stores were close. Parking may also be an issue if all rooms are occupied.
It was a very amazing experience.
Property was very client and easy to get to.
Amazing spot!
We had an amazing stay for 5 nights last week as part of our honeymoon. It was very nice and clean. I would highly recommend!
Nice quiet neighborhood.
Walkway was unsafe particularly for elderly. Automatic Check-in required cell phone data service. Room was pleasant except no egress window.
Okay but could be better.
This place is very clean and the owners are great about letting you know where it is and where to park. I liked that they used large bottles of shampoo/conditioner instead of wasting plastic with the little bottles. However the bed is very uncomfortable and the pillows are awful. Luckily we brought our own pillows for an earlier part of our trip and were able to use those. You also need to be aware that you will hear the washer and dryer going throughout the night, people talking through the walls, and people walking on the floor above you. They say the room is soundproofed but they can’t guarantee it to be noiseless, I thought it would have been a litter better though. You should also know that the $5 breakfast is to cook it yourself. If you want them to cook you breakfast it’s $20. Also, if you are bringing bags with wheels make sure you can life and carry them for a while, there is no path to wheel luggage on to get into the B&B as you will have to walk through a mixture of grass and concrete squares. I wouldn’t recommend this is you use a cane/walker or have any mobility issues. I did appreciate the smart TV and mini fridge in our rooms and if it wasn’t raining we would have used the outdoor space.
Delightful and memorable stay. Cozy accommodation.
Easy to find location w/ my gps, instructions were detailed. Owner and reviewers already prewarned about the imperfections of the place. Close to downtown. I was surprised my room had a frig and the pop and water inside were complimentary, which was nice. Kitchen was big.
Lily's garden is a little gem set in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and we had full use of the communal kitchen and cute eating area. The huge tv was another nice surprise, It's only minutes from the downtown area of Charlottetown
In nice location
I liked the $5 breakfast and the environment.

Heavy walking right above the room in the middle of the night for several hours. Dusty floor. Rotting food in the main fridge. Pathway to door poorly lit at night. Not notified about no breakfast until after booking.
