Lovely break
Lovely hotel, nice staff, great location. Twin room was great, well sized. Breakfast was ok, but nothing to special.
What a lovely hotel, service was excellent and decor cute. We upgraded one of our parties rooms to a suite which was great. There is a great italian restaurant just next door - a must try! Food was excellent
Really great service
Great location and unexpected opportunity to watch the parade on 24th Jan, from our balcony. Also 9 min walk for coach to Transylvania day trip. Would definitely stay here again when we return to Bucharest.
I was unsure to give 3 or 4 stars in this review but ended up giving 4 because at the end of my stay the manager of the hotel made up for all the issues that happened (broken flush in the toilet as soon as I checked in, no light in the room in one of the nights and then they didn’t fix it the next day as promised, etc) by giving me late check out free of charge. I really liked the hotel room, the bed was sooo big and comfortable, stayed in the top floor with view to the back and it was perfect. The hotel is kinda old style which is nice interior design and specially during Halloween it’s all decorated which is a nice touch. The lift is also old style which is a massive issue tho! If you don’t close the door manually after getting out the lift it wouldn’t work anymore (I was at the very top floor and on 3 occasions had to go all the way down by stairs because someone didn’t close the door of the lift which is really annoying so bear that in mind. Breakfast is ok, nothing specially, could be better quality and variety. Location is great, super central and walkable everywhere, that was a must! There was a weird smell on the corridors tho (like dump with a mix of cigarette smell), they need to fix that. Staff is ok, not extremely friendly but polite. If you have trouble sleeping/don’t like much noise, ask for a room with view to the back, the rooms facing the front (main road) are extremely noisy as it’s located in one of the busiest avenues in the city and there’s a lot of cars.
Beautiful hotel with nice and friendly stuff. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Good stay
The overall stay was good. The hotel decorations although too much at times were amazing! Impecable design! However there a bit of a smell (like damp) on the corridors apart from it was a good stay.
We have stayed before in that hotel but this time was a different experience! Firstly they gave us a small room than the one that booked and after complaining about the condition of the room that we given they transferred us to a bigger one. You could see that no maintenance was carried out that the hotel as a wardrobe doors were broken and the fridge was making weird noises.
We liked the arty ambience. The down town old city location. Museums nearby. Lots of places to eat. We found a great bistro adjacent. All good,
Decor is amazing! Very comfortable stay and very stylish interior design
Great atmosphere with unique vintage look
Sub-par conditions in relation to price
The art and deco were amazing and well put together. Front desk were amazing and helpful. Romeo top notch helpful with our luggage and directing us to our rooms. I will say that the breakfast staff were not as friendly as you would expect, that was the only downsize of the hotel otherwise everything was amazing.
We stayed for a long weekend. The checkin was quick and efficient. I was somewhat surprised they didn’t want me to leave my credit card details, but they said you pay as you go. Only 1 lift so sometime it was a bit congested, we were on the 4th floor, although I could walk up and down, my wife has a bad leg and needed to use the lift. The room was clean and functional. The bathroom had a lot of water pressure, but that meant the tap was noisy unless you had it on “full blast”. There was ample hot water. There were all the usual soap, shower gel etc, but they also left small toothbrush and past and razor should you have forgotten these. I slept really well, once I’d managed to get the temperature right, the room was very hot. We left the window open, and even though we were facing away from the busy road it was still a bit noisy. Breakfast, was a little bit poor. The toasters were home versions so slow, and once I had a tepid fried egg and another time it was just cold. So the hot breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Meat and cheese selection was good, as was the fruit juice and coffee. The tea, I my opinion was too weak, even with 2 bags and a good old soak. Would I go back, yes, but I might consider paying more for better room facilities/ breakfast.
Great location - approx 10/15 minute walk to the Old Town and then several coffee shops just outside hotel. Hotel room lovely - lots of amenities. Only thing to note is that bathroom slightly run down, paint pealing and needs resealed. Staff lovely and friendly. We speak English and English really great! Breakfast - standard breakfast. Plenty of choice and included in room rate. Approx 20 minutes from Airport. Overall enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
Hotel building and decor itself is nice, however having booked a “executive suite” with a bath I discovered on the 1st night there was no hot water. Called reception who sent someone up, water eventually got warm at best after he turned some mains valves on/off. Second night again no hot water, told reception who said I could change room but I was checking out the next morning. Asked for an alternative solution ie some for of refund to compensate for the fact we didn’t have hot water, reasonable request for a hotel that makes itself out to be upmarket. This was refused and abruptly told they had given me an option. Poor customer service that I’d expect at a budget hotel. Wouldn’t stay here again if I had the choice. Breakfast buffet isn’t great either, tables not being cleaned so nowhere to sit and the food was extremely average. Could have paid less money and stayed somewhere far better.
Great value and location
Lovely classic hotel in the city center
Lovely hotel with helpful staff in a great location in Bucharest! The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Carpet was a little bit old and my fridge leaked, but other than that I had a lovely stay in the food in room service was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel and I will stay again whenever I get back to Bucharest.
Great hotel, sensitive to other guests. <3
The staff and the accommodations were very nice. Exactly what we had hoped for to round off a 10 day trip through Romania. However, we were perplexed and surprised about the response when another guest was pounding on the door down the hall at 4am and woke the whole floor up. Additionally, the walls are quite thin and sound carries... Fully recommend this establishment, but hope they reckon with unruly guests and noise better in the future. :)
Nice Hotel, would recomend
I stayed here twice in one week on business, the hotel was located close to some good restaurants. Overall no complaints
Great hotel. Clean large rooms. Towels could do with an upgrade
My husband and I stayed with Lido for a few days while in Bucharest. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by staff. The check in process was very brief and they got me into my room immediately. The art throughout the hotel is exquisite. The hotel had recently been remodeled, so the rooms were very beautiful and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was included with our booking and it was delicious. It was if I was eating a Romanian breakfast at home. When I return to Romania, I will definitely be staying with this hotel again. Thank you to the wonderful staff.
Old
Staff is super friendly and the room is amazing
The room was everything we expected and more! Loved the apartment feel and the complementary bottle of wine! The shower was a HUGE plus also! Location was perfect as well!
I am pregnant and specifically booked a non-smoking room. The room that was assigned to me had a balcony and curtain that reek of cigarette smell from previous guests!! We did not notice at first because they had sprayed a lot of perfume upon check in. We only realised when we returned after dinner close to midnight how bad the odour was. By that time, we just needed to rest instead of packing and unpacking to another room The breakfast is also very dissapointing for a 4 star hotel. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend avoiding as well due to location being in a mainroad and you can hear the traffic 24/7. Overall terrible experience, I will never return
Nice historical building. But I wish the bed was softer
It was old and unmaintained
Great stay at Lido
We enjoyed the stay at Lido. The location is excellent and the value for the money is great. The service was four star. The room was excellent: clean, serviced daily, bed was great. The air conditioned worked very well. Also the little fridge in the room helped. The only not so great was the breakfast (included in the price). It was almost like a two star contractor was delivering to a four star hotel clientele. Much improvement is needed in the quality of food and service.
Everything was exceptional except the room was too hot i asked to turn the ac down but it was too warm for August. Other than that i loved my stay and I highly recommend this hotel
Authentic and convenient old townBucharest hotel.
Nice location. Convenient to sight seeing and restaurant.
Was good and successful
This is a beautiful and comfortable property
Beautiful stylish hotel- amazing staff- great breakfast.
The staff was very nice and professional. They have unique decoration in the lobby, staircase and the rooms. Everything was clean and perfect. They have great restaurant and excellent breakfast. Breakfast is made to order. The staff is very accommodating. The hotel is close to all the local attractions.
Great hotel, great staff. I enjoyed my stay. I'll return.
Gorgeous hotel
Overall really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. I had mixed experiences with front of house staff - two of three were brilliant, one of them took her merry time to deal with customers at check out ‘rush hour’ meanwhile a queue was forming and she didn’t even acknowledge the delay never mind offer a token apology for the wait (also perhaps they need two staff on at this time?). Breakfast was good, the hotel is beautiful, nice touch with the free coffee machine and pastries on each floor every morning. Room was comfortable, great bed. Struggled to ever get the shower temperature right - was either too hot or too cold. Toilet didn’t have a powerful flush so prone to blockages. Location is a bit out of the way if you want somewhere central near the old town but Ubers are super cheap and efficient so it’s a good base.
Perfect.
Everything was perfect. The room are beautiful. The servce is very good ! Thanks for Cristina (in the pront desk) fot all the help she is very kind. Abd the bellboy that know hebrew was nice and funny !! The rooms are very clean ! All perfect.
the hotel is very nice. The only bad thing is the restaurant.
Comfortable and beautiful
Hotel Lido was lovely. The staff were polite at check in and the hotel itself was lavishly decorated. The beds were comfortable and the room had all the amenities you could want. Our only complaint was that the room service menu was completely inaccurate and the restaurant staff were difficult to deal with. That said, I would recommend the hotel!
Excellent
It is a very good hotel in the city center of Bucharest. Highly recommended.
I supose that may expectations were too big I didn t understand why I must pay from the vary bigining at front desk !!! I didn t understand why she didn t present us where is the lift why she didn t say us about the breakfast!! On the other hand the rooms are super and the conditions also.
The hotel lobby is impressive, it feels like you're inside a library with all the books from some famous authors such as Balzac, Voltaire, etc. Also a nice grand piano. The walls are surrounded with nice paintings and tapestries. Each floor are provided with ample supplies of bottled water, pastries, fruits and coffee. The breakfast selection was excellent.
Beautiful decorated rooms and stairways. Nice coffee stations on all floors and excellent breakfast
Great choice for Bucharest
Great hotel, nice staff, good bus connection to airport nearby.
It is like a boutique hotel, renovated being built in the beginning of this century. The elevator is a story by its self , old style but renovated in a brilliant way. The staff is vey friendly and cooperative. Location is great.
wonderful vacation
We, my wife and I, enjoyed very much our stay at the Lido hotel. Lovely renovated building, nicely decorated and very clean. Room not too large, beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and a very clean bathroom. Staff were very helpful and pleasant add to this a wonderful location in a beautiful part of Bucharest. We would love to stay again in the Lido during our next trip.
Classy Hotel!
Fabulous updated yet classy hotel-excellent service, room and breakfast. Only a ten minute walk to Old Town!
The location is great, the hotel is one of a kind with it’s renovated interiors but the unfinished pool as on 17 Aug 2019 was a bummer.
The general old touch, the ornaments, the art collection, the old style elevator, everything caring the ambiance of a pre-WWII Bucharest hotel. Will definitely recommend and revisit.
