Fantastic hotel in the city walls, walkable to everything and felt safe. Staff were great, changed up large notes and the welcome tea/pastry was a nice touch. We were lucky and got upgraded, the room had dressing gowns and slippers, and everything you could wish for. The Indian restaurant was lovely, as was the heated rooftop pool. Would definitely recommend and stay if we came back xx
The property was tired. Extra charges to use the spa pool for guest. We did have a spa massage which was very average and the therapist weren’t really engaging. The indoor spa pool wasn’t warm enough. We did eat in the restaurant and it was average. Generally all staff were pleasant. Our room had been plastered in the bathroom and bedroom and wasn’t redecorated? An average hotel close to the square so this was convenient. We went for a winter sun break and the weather was great!
Great Location, & Hotel, Inflexible Registration
The location is PERFECT! Just at the entrance of the main medina and a few blocks from Koutoubia Mosque. The hotel is beautiful. All the restaurants are great. The staff is great. Registration not so great... We booked for 10 days to be paid at the end of our stay. After 3 days, we learned we needed to leave early. We gave 7 DAYS notice we were leaving 4 days early and the hotel refused to allow us to cancel those 4 days with the rationale it was high season and they didnt want to make this exception. So we ended up paying for 4 days we didn’t stay ($2,400).
Amazing location !!!
Beautiful hotel that is steps away from the main square and souks. An oasis of luxury. I would highly recommend. We really enjoyed the spa, sky bar and pool. We enjoyed the Parisian restaurant on site.
Beautiful property with excellent staff - so warm and welcoming. Expedia should try and reflect the properties nomenclature for the room grades as this got very confusing onsite.
The Customer relations manager was very emphatic and responsive to our needs.
Amazing oasis of calm
Very nice
This hotel was recommended, and it met our expectations. It’s a lovely hotel that is well kept. It is right next to the Medina so you’re just a few hundred feet from all the excitement of the old city. When you’re done shopping, it’s nice to come back to the solitude of this hotel.

Hotel isn’t bad it is just ok clean nice staff but very limited options on dining
The hotel was beautiful oasis away from the hustle and bustle you see right outside. The location was great because it give you the experience of being by the medina without going in too far. The staff was wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend staying and I look forward to coming back.
We had a great few days at La Koutoubia. If it was adults only and the downstairs pool was heated, this place would be perfect! The Indian restaurant was great!
overall was a good
Disappointing experience.
Very dated property. Staff very "curt" and "dry". A/C never worked during our two night stay despite several calls to front desk, all we got was excuses. We specifically looked for a 5 Star facility while booking but were disappointed in our choice, service and facilities are nowhere close to a "5 Star". Only good part is its location, which is right on the edge of old town. Sorry I have to leave such a review but I wanted to be fair to future travelers.
Les Jardin de la Koutoubia is the quintessential Moroccan hotel that effortlessly melds superb service and western luxuries with outstanding Moroccan flair and ambiance. The staff were outstanding, and we were never disappointed when we ate in any of the hotel restaurants. It's a gem of a hotel - steps away yet worlds apart from the bustle of Jemma El-Fnaa.
Stayed here 5 times now. Love it
Didn’t give me VIP upgrade or amenity. I didn’t know it was a VIP property, so I didn’t ask. Otherwise, property is beautiful, rooms are spacious, bed is comfortable, and staff is friendly and helpful. Complimentary bottled water and fruit in room. Breakfast buffet is bountiful and tasty. Three restaurants- Indian, Moroccan and Continental. We ate twice in Indian which was superb. Lovely and well-priced spa and two outdoor pools. Excellent massage! Can’t beat the location - three minute walk to the Koutoubia, Fnaa El Jmaa, and main souk. Would definitely stay here again!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. All staff were polite and friendly. Facilities and accommodation are excellent and very handy to the main square in Jemaa El Fnaa. Only comment is to be prepared to tip as if you’re in America.
Second time staying here. I love everything about this hotel, the staff, rooms, location, food, I really couldn’t fault it at all. I will be back!
Wonderful place. The location is great. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are big. I will definitely go back
All staff was very friendly. Excellent location to main attractions. Felt safe.
A lovely place with nice staff
It’s a very nice Riad which is very modern too. Very big and comfortable room
Wow, this hotel is exceptional. If we could give them 10 stars we would. The staff are so attentive and the hotel is beautiful. It’s a place of calm in the Marrakesh medina, close to all the main attractions but also feels a million miles away once you’re inside. This is Moroccan hospitality at its best, a real treat.
It was a beautiful, quiet oasis. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Beautiful rooftop views. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Amazing stay - the hotel was beautiful. Pool so peaceful. Staff were excellent. Highly recommended.
We found the location to be convenient because we were in the Old city able to walk in the city and markets and then close enough to the new city to go to the higher end restaurants.
Everything
Good location. Poor Airconditioning
The hotel has a very nice traditional architecture, location is great and staff was friendly and helpful
This hotel is fantastic. The staff is extremely welcoming. The grounds are beautiful. The hotel is extremely conveniently placed near everything worth seeing in the Medina, and a short taxi ride to some of the other museums like YSL and Jardins Majorelles (a must see)... I do not recommend using the concierge to book excursions, but rather do your homework and book elsewhere. The Moroccan restaurant in the hotel is absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying, eating at one of the tables outside on the patio by the pool... Two pools are available, one in the ground floor courtyard, and one on the rooftop terrace. Views are beautiful. I could not recommend this hotel enough and we shared contact details with family and friends.
The property is very well maintained. Very close to Souk and markets. Excellent food, wonderful pools yet most importantly the staff is friendly and very professional. Everyone went out of their way to be supportive. Highly recommend!
Stay here!
Fab location - 2 mins walk to Market Sq and opposite direction, 2 mins walk to Masjid de Koutoubia. However the hotel, garden, pools are serene & quiet ie you wouldn’t know you were in the heart of vibrant city. The spa is also superb. Definitely recommend the Fusion package. Breakfast is very good. The Bala restaurant is also good. The snack bar is good. Everyone is absolutely welcoming and helpful. Received an upgrade on checking in which was wonderful and greatly appreciated.
Great hotel, fantastic location, good service and food! It was a really great choice!
Not cheap but worth it. Property is stunning, food and beverage options are plentiful and delicious, fantastic service. It’s location is right next to bustling J’ma Al Fna but once inside, feels like a world away. Room was huge, clean and well appointed. The rooftop pool was our favorite place to relax. A fantastic 3 days here!
Fantastic hotel. Charming, authentic, I had a huge room that felt like a suite. And the property has been smart enough to put double glasses windows - so I could finally sleep without waking up at 4.30am for the prayers. I’ll certainly stay there again
The Jardins de Koutoubia is one of the most beautiful, unique places you could ever stay around the world. The staff was kind and helpful. The Indian restaurant was a real surprise and first rate. We cannot say enough about how beautiful it was just to sit in the many areas, Including our own private terrace.
The overall manager was excellent and highly focused on customer experience. She sorted out last minute bookings at the most difficult places. the reception though needs to improve and in some cases actively bad
We loved visiting Marrakech during Ramadan. We chose to stay at this hotel because of its proximity to the famous Koutoubia Masjid where we participated in the evening prayers in the last few days of Ramadan. The hotel’s traditional futour meals were especially delicious. It’s a wonderful place to stay, only walking distance from the hustle and bustle of the Jamee El finaa known for great shopping and site seeing. Special thanks to the helpful and lovely staff; Latif and Sarah
A great hotel, in a central location . friendly staff. Highly recommend it as a place to stay especially if it's your first time to Marrakech
Safe, clean and excellent service. All around close to everything. Great location for those who like to explore on foot. Highly recommend this hotel.
The service was excellent right from the time you checkin to checkout! The place is very beautiful and so quiet . The staff are friendly and respectful. Loved this place. Further it is so close and walkable to the souks for all your shopping and authentic Moroccan food. Highly recommend!
Chill out at Les Jardins De La Khoutabia
Well paced right next to the main square. Staff are very accommodating - breakfasts excellent. Dinner in the Morroccan restaurant was very good. Nice to have choice of two pools to relax by.
The hotel is beautiful - lovely ambience and a quiet haven after wandering the souks. We were given a small corner room right next to the elevator, where it was clear we would hear people talking as they waited, not to mention the sound of the elevator door. We requested another room, and Latif at the counter very graciously upgraded us to a very nice junior suite - thanks Latif. However, there were small cockroaches in the bathroom - not good for $300 per night! We had drinks in the lovely bar, which is like being taken back to the 20s. The breakfast is super, huge amount of choice and fresh fruit juices - and the serving staff very professional. I also used the spa, and while some of the services could have been better, it was quite good. It helps if the massage therapist sees you as a person rather than a body - and asks what areas might be particularly problematic etc. I had 2 massages, but was never asked anything at all - but he lady who took care of my hammam-gommage was very nice and friendly. I also tried the indian restaurant, and I would give it a 0 if I could. The service was not great, the "naan" was actually roti, I believe. I had aloo gobhi, which is easy to make (I make it frequently). It was over-salted, not tasty, and the veggies were in about 3 large tablespoons of oil clear to see. The hotel should get rid of this restaurant and the tacky sign for it at the entrance. We did have a nice stay, but the hotel seems over-priced.
For once the hotel looked exactly like the pictures. Even the musician was exactly at the sport the pic was taken from. Great hotel, definitely will return!
A hidden oasis! Amazing staff, excellent food, really clean - can’t fault the hotel and will be recommending to everyone
This is probably the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed it The minute you walk into the front door you know this is a special place. The are gardens everywhere. Two pools. Three restaurants. We had a junior suite with bedroom, sitting room, Terrance and sumptuous bathroom. Service was extraordinary. The enormous spa has another pool. The massage from Nadia was so good I went back for another one. We loved the breakfast buffet but the dinners we had in the hotel were disappointing. The restaurant just a short walk away was much better. This hotel wasn’t cheap but it was worth every penny.
Not my great getaway.
This is a hotel among the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. It’s difficult to find if you are driving on your own. Once in the hotel you are taken away from all the craziness on the outside. There is a lot of word work and it felt like a Riad made into a hotel. It’s very peaceful. We had dinner in the Indian restaurant while I did not expect real authentic cuisine the pricing is expensive for the potions and not as tasty. Disappointed with the servers attire and it is clearly they are not familiar with the menu. They looked uncomfortable. Room we got was ok..the toilet is like a closet, no vent and no sink you have to walk out the closet space to the bathroom very uncomfortable. For the price I paid it’s not worth it +500 CDN. Was expecting more but the space is small to enjoy a walk around the property. Certainly not what I expected.
Magical Marrakesh
The hotel and its team were wonderful. Perfect location for the fantastical Medina and only a 30 min walk to the Jardin Marjorelle and Comptoir Darna restaurant. The roof top pool was fab as was the Indian restaurant and food in all areas. Rooms quiet and comfortable and grand.
Beautiful property. Good wifi. King bed suite was very large and comfortable. Rooftop pool terrace was my favorite spot. The service was quick; anytime we called down for something- iron, towels etc. Bar/ Lounge at night was very comfortable and friendly bartenders. Included buffet was excellent! Egg & crepe station was favorite. Location was perfect; right on outside of the excitement and walkable to many great restaurants, didn’t need to spend money ( get screwed) by cabs entire stay. One thing- beware of even staff “ off-shift” seeming to be nice and helpful; they may direct you to a shop by saying it’s the “ last day”. This is not true. It’s a scam and they are working with the vendor to bring hotel guests they view as being wealthy. Amazing staff experience overall but still trust No One!
Diamond in the Rough
Amazing hotel in a fantastic location. This hotel boasts historic and prestige at the same time and the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Unequivocally would 100% stay here again.
Great property
Great staff, stunning building and environment and central location near main square. Everything was outstanding including the spa. Wonderful time here!
One of the best hotels to stay at in Marrakech. The service was amazing the people treated us so well. The cleanliness was excellent. I would definitely recommend booking here.
Everything was just great. Staff, amenities, Food, customer oriented service. Will definitely recommend to everyone.
We loved the location! 5 minute walk to the souks. While the surrounding area was bustling with activity, the hotel, build around courtyards with pools and gardens, was quiet and serene. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Food was very good, especially the chicken sewers and fruit salad. We highly recommend this facility.
Superb facilities, 3 restaurants, 2 bars beautiful grounds with courtyards and trees. On the edge of the Medina, perfect for those who want to tour the Medina but want to avoid the chaos and inconvenience of staying in its centre.
Great location. Excellent staff and amenities
Beautiful hotel, great location, lovely restaurants and very helpful and friendly staff
Excellent location and facility
Grateful
Paradise tucked away right in the Medina. We were treated like family guests and are already scheming a way to come back. Wonderful food, room, pools, hamam and especially staff. Thank you Les Jardins De La Koutoubia.
Very nice staff. Location is fantastic (very close to the square but far enough away to avoid the noise). Lovely pool to relax in after a hot day of touring. And some very nice restaurants (especially the Indian Restaurant...it was just great)!
Fantastic stay with a family for one night. Everything is perfect - stuff, room, breakfast, etc. I would stay in this hotel again next time!
Brilliant
Amazing location, the hotel facilitates and staff
Hot water bit erratic, room rather cold in evenings but otherwise great facilities, location and excellent staff.
Perfect location at the edge of the Medina, a stone throw from Jemaa el-Fnaa. Could be reached by shuttles and taxis. Our rooms were upgraded to patio view. Breakfast was a surprising spread instead of the promised "continental" breakfast. We also enjoyed having a glass of wine in the roof top restaurant every evening watching the night sky and La Koutoubia mosque. Staff was helpful and friendly.
5 star!!.. Attention to every detail!. The Staff!, unbelievably accommodating, professional, and over the top genuine and friendly! Will return.. DEFINITELY!
Really lovely olde world hotel with big open spaces on the edge of the medina. Really excellent substantial breakfast and a good Indian restaurant on site. Polite and smiling staff, only complaint is a lack of information and assistance about Marrakech, this needs to be improved but otherwise a fantastic place to stay 😀
Saving Grace in Morocco - Magical and Beautiful
Initially we had been booked at a different (very shabby) hotel. We were so disappointed, so instead of staying, we went on hotels.com and found a last minute deal on this hotel. From the moment we walked into Les Jardins De La Koutoubia, we felt like we were in paradise. We were served cold towels with rosewater and then tea service and pastries while they did our check in. The rooms were beautiful, and the hotel is right in the center of everything. We ate at the Indian restaurant on the last night - it was really cool. I also ate lunch at the poolside restaurant - gorgeous. Staff very helpful. Breakfast buffet delicious. The only tiny thing that was not good was because it was January there was no airconditioning. It was in the mid seventies outside so the room would get warm and we'd have to open the window.
Everything was kept in perfect condition, location was great and staff very friendly
The common spaces for breakfast, lobby, dinner, bar, pool and rooftop bars were all very nice. Location was great near the Koutoubia. Rooms were spacious with large baths but they could use a lot of maintenance. While they were clean, there was mold in the shower, the bathroom door wouldn’t open all the way, and even the toilet seat wasn’t aligned with the toilet. Bed was comfortable and linens were nice. Maybe this is considered 5 stars in Morocco but by US standards it’s more like a 3-4 star property. Some of the staff were very nice and others seemed annoyed if you asked for anything.
Amazing location and a great property!
The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant’s and spa were outstanding. The location was was in the Médina and close enough to walk to everything yet it provide a zen and tranquil atmosphere.
Great location, lovely old building and fabulous staff
Fantastic property Well located Brilliantly staff. Great experience overall. Absolutely nothing to complain about Full marks all round
I love everything about this hotel I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Marrakech
Our family of five thought the hotel was lovely. Spacious rooms with plenty of wardrobe space and nice bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable. We had two rooms that connected via an external balcony overlooking the swimming pool. We were very happy with our rooms. Excellent staff who were friendly, polite and helpful whenever approached. I was particularly impressed with the fresh flowers throughout the hotel which were beautiful.
Excellent hotel and service with excellent rooms and facilities
Excellent hotel. Has 2 pools, decorated very nicely, perfect location. I could not have asked for anything better.
Wonderful location right next to Jmaa al Fna; easy walking to everywhere in the Medina. Rooms on the poolside or garden are quiet and restful. Food in all three restaurants was excellent. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a happy place in Marrakesh. Most importantly, the tour guide (Abdul) whom they recommended was excellent.
Paradise within the Medina
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is very close to the Medina. The facilities were nice. We found the staff to be very nice and the front desk to be pleasant most of the time. Our check-out desk person wasn’t as nice and a bit dismissive. It was the only unpleasant moment for us. The dining options aren’t great but not bad. We would stay here again.
Gorgeous property. Great pools to relax by. Excellent restaurants. Perfect location next to Médina. Large rooms. Comfortable, well equipped though perhaps the in-room furniture was a bit out-of-date and worn.
The property was in an excellent location. Literally an oasis in a rather authentic working class neighborhood. It was about 300 yards from Jemma Fna and a 100 yards from the Katoubia mosque. Unfortunately, the property has seen better days. The carpet, decorations, and paintings as well as the lighting and atmosphere really needs a major overhaul. I’m sure it was a grand hotel 30-40 years ago, but now not so much. Also, the food at the breakfast buffet was very ordinary and limited. The staff overall were very friendly and helpful. I just wished that the lady on the egg grill would at least smile a little. Overall, a good stay and would recommend if you’re looking for an excellent location.
Just ok. Place a bit tired. Food overpriced with somewhat basic menu for price. Breakfast limited menu and understaffed so if you want a good selection or service will be disappointed. 42 degrees and no complimentary water in room . £2.50 for small bottle water. £3 for tin coke . Air con hardly cools room so you will be hot and sweaty. Great location but would not stay again. Sure there is better accommodation elsewhere for better price.
Amazing experience
Absolutely amazing - centrally locates and impeccable service.
Loved it!
Beautiful hotel at walking distance from the market medina, the rooms were amazing, each day we had rose petals and roses on our bed... so nice and romantic! The food was excellent. The front desk receptionists and concierge were very helpful and we also booked our Atlas mountains and camel rides through the hotel which were excellent.
Très bel hôtel propre et très bien situé dans la médina.
Very attractive morrocan style property with all the luxury amenities in the middle of the old city and walking distance from the Alfana area
Such an amazing property that is quintessential Morocco. The pools were amazing as were the rooms and service. The staff was truly wonderful and we felt like family.
The hotel is in the heart of Marrakech convenient to restaurants, souks and main square. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Definitely a 5* experience
The staff are so friendly and helpful. Really clean, well maintained. A perfect location. Close to the Médina, main square and souks (a couple of minutes walk) but not in the Médina so taxis can access it. Lovely pool area which is big enough to get sun even if not using the roof pool. Great rooftop bar and restaurant. Really relaxing break with great location.
Beautiful hotel but unfriendly service
A beautiful hotel, in a great location. However found the staff unfriendly and service for a 5 star hotel subpar. I was supposed to get a room with a city view and instead they “upgraded” me to a suite on the ground floor with no real light / definitely no view. The toilet ran continuously and I let the front desk know twice at the beginning of my stay but was never fixed. I felt the front desk was dismissive of my complaint and finally I just gave up. It was too bad as the hotel and the pool is very pretty and walking distance from so many sites but would recommend they upgrade their level customer service!
I like the decoration, the big rooms with balconies looking towards the Koutoubia tower are pretty special. The lobby was dark and smells dusty but maybe because the hotel is right there at the Medina
An Oasis close to the Medina...
Beautiful room in a delightful complex. Attention to detail exceptional...pools and roof top bars offer refuge from the hustle of the Medina...Jeemal el fna beckons if you care to wonder down the road. Worth escaping the sun to explore the spa and treat yourself to a truly Moroccan scrub...
Excellent location, very close (walking 4mins) to main square and souk’s.
Location is excellent. The hotel is beautifully done. Unfortunately the staff where not great. Some where really quite rude and not pleasant. The food was also disappointing, did not do the hotel any justice. And the cab ride to the airport they arranged was possibly my worst experience ever , and I live in New York City!! I actually feared for my life
This is a lovely hotel right in the hustle and bustle of the medina. As soon as you step into the hotel reception you are in peaceful, luxurious surroundings. The hotel has 2 lovely pools and plenty of sun beds to relax on after sightseeing. We tried all 3 restaurants and the snack bar as well as the piano bar in the evening. This really is a wonderful hotel.
Les Jardins De La Koutoubia | Hotel in Marrakech | Travala.com
All great only the pool service could be faster. Restaurant great food, service the same menu all 5 days. Front desk great. Don’t book anything prior they can organize it all.
