Did not like at all. Staff was improperly trained and don’t know how to do their job. They do not care about the customers at all. I had a horrible expirence there.
Staff was nice but will not return to this hotel. Pool was small and not clean. Called to ask for extra blankets few times no one came. Rooms were ok.
It's an old building with solid walls, very quiet.
It was really nice, well done, and clean. The food is superb and you can see why this brand is successful as they work hard to maintain its best in the class standard. Thanks! Just beware of the merchant in the jewellery shop in the lobby. He’s a little sketchy.
Place is very average.
Nice and clean

It 's close to everything, yet quite. I truly loved my stay, and will come back soon
Really fabulous breakfast and comfortable beds, polite and very helpful front desk staff, all round a great stay. parking was a great bonus.
Did not stay.
I booked on hotels.com, received confirmation code, it said pending in my name statement, but when we got to the hotel, they said they could not find it anywhere, that it was not on any of the sites dating back to even 1 year ago. I travel a lot and have NEVER had this kind of experience in my life!
Very nasty customer service not helpful at all they don’t care about their customers rooms very old and disgusting
Amazing
Perfect breakfast
Leonardo Visit
Stay was fine for a family visit. Clean rooms and good breakfast.
The property was overcrowded and outdated. Pool was too small to accommodate so many guests. Check in was late and room was not available.
Bathroom was in a poor condition
I recommend this hotel, near to the holly places. The staff was very friendly
תענוג של אירוח, בעיית חנייה חמורה וחבל שאין חנייה מסודרת למלון, ונאלצנו לקבל דו"ח של 250 שקל
I have preciously stayed there and always enjoy my stay...great food, friendly staff, great location and amenities.
Close to old city, friendly and nice breakfast buffet
BED BUGS!
BED BUGS! At first glance the hotel was okay, a bit sub par really. After our first night, my husband found a few bites on his legs and arms. Since we hadn’t notice many mosquitoes in the area, we decided to search the room and to our surprise we found bed bugs under the mattress! We immediately contacted management who had the nerve to question whether we brought the bugs with us. After showing them video of dozens of bugs on their mattress, they apologized. Needless to say, we cut our Jerusalem trip short and checked out. The hotel offered a refund for the stay but nothing else. We were left to fend for ourselves as far as accommodations and transportation is concerned - not to mention likely throwing away lots of clothes and our bags. In total I’ve counted at least 90 bites all over his body! I’ve found 2 bugs since leaving the hotel in my bag. This ordeal is far from over! Do not stay at this Hotel, stay far away.
It was a horrible experience! The fro t desk were pleasant but kept checking with the front desk and general manager before answering questions. There was loud music and parties I. The neighboring room till all hours of the night. The front desk were ineffective I. Stopping this. Needless to say, the night of sleep was lost! The general manager was unavailable Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday. He refused to take my calls and discuss the situations. Their customer service was horrible -management was horrible- The Fattal chain should rethink their managerial staff. Not a place I would recommend!
We liked the location in relation to the Old City. The food was good, but you are limited to buffets for the most part. The room was nice but the tempiture was very hard to control.
The hotel use to be better, eating at the buffet very expense...
Good overall
I had problems with the AC in my room which was quickly addressed by the staff. However the staff at the breakfast area were not friendly at all. The room was comfortable and clean. Location was great. My stay was good overall, except for the cranky breakfast staff.
very poor
the hotel is old the corridors are not clean and the white color is not white. the room was large but not clean. the bath was overflooded after 2 minutes of shower. The sofa was a rag. T.V remote control was dirty. stuff is not friendly and they didn't bather to help us with a taxi: "no taxis" they said so we needed to take care of ordering the taxi alone. 2400 there is no food in the hotel literally nothing. bad hotel bad attitude. wouldn't visit the hotel ever again.
Excellent hotel close to the Old City
This property is the best kept secret in all of Jerusalem. I had a fantastic stay extremely smooth check in/out process. Parking was both convenient and priced reasonably.
Very clean, updated rooms, and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a decently-priced, conveniently-located stay in Jerusalem.
Nice Hotel close to old city
We dis stay before with a Tour, The room was confortable, yet with Orbitz, they moved us to a better room. The food is excellent especially Breakfast and dinner ( I would recommend to include this meals when booking, otherwise would be very expensive) If Dinner is Not included in the plan, I would recommend to go to the cafeteria (Lobby) , where prices are more razonable. The Hotel is very well located, close to the old city of Jerusalem
Leonard Hotel on St. George St, Jerusalem
We just landed from a week in Israel and stayed at this hotel...which should not be confused with ANOTHER Leonardo Hotel which is on KING George St., this is on SAINT George St! A/C wasn't great, but it turns off and on when it detects nobody in the room, which is excellent for conserving energy, but not as cool as most hotels in a 40 C degree place! Staff was very attentive. Area is partly in East Jerusalem, an Arab area, which I didn't realize when booking, and we are Jewish. The hotel is staffed mostly by Arabs and we felt comfortable and at ease at all times. Pool is small but great, and nice and cold, not too warm like other hotels. Parking is underground with elevator to hotel...nobody told us that as they watched us drag our luggage up the ramp outside into the hotel!
Not a 5 Star Hotel
We booked this hotel expecting it to be a 5 Star Hotel. It is at best a 3 Star. We were there for 4 nights and had no air conditioning for 3 of the 4 nights. We contacted the front desk and they sent someone every day who told us that the air conditioning was fine. It was cool enough! The hotel is situated in an area that really offers to walkable sights. When we checked out and they asked how our stay was, they told us they would credit us 50 shekels basically basically $28.00 US dollars. We paid almost $1000.00 for 4 nights. The pool closes at 6:00 pm, so after returning from sightseeing and wanting to relax, cool down and have a swim, you are out of luck! I would not recommend this hotel. We will not go back.
Dirty hall, clogged sink and tub, rude staff
The hall outside my room was dirty and the same debris seemed to stay there for my entire 5-day stay. Both the sink and tub in my room did not drain well, leaving a bowl full of dirty water every time they were used. Sink hardware was plastered with disgusting debris. Bell staff and front desk staff were both extremely rude, inattentive, slow and apparently angry about something. I saw a waiter drop a dinner roll on the floor, simply pick it up and put it back on a table. Finally the power went out one evening for a substantial period of time. Staff abandoned the front desk and ran around with dim flashlights that produced only orange-colored, dim light. Chaos reigned and it was simply good luck that disaster did not occur.
over all alright
Expedia gave me a price of $275.00 including taxes. I was charged $321.75? Could not argue at the time due to timing. Please refund $46.75 Thank you Regards Max Moryoussef
Nice hotel
Nice Hotel needs renovation.. hotel staff was very nice and trying to accommodate... breakfast was fresh and well put together--defiantly worth a try..
Simply the BEST
We were on honeymoon, the manager and employese just could not go enough for us. We both would return.
Beautiful hotel!
Excellent experience! delicious food! No complaints.
Service at breakfast
Service is so, so. It is hard to get the attention of servers. Staff is friendly, but it is really hard to get their attention. It also appears to be understaffed.
Perfect enough for the price
Our family of 4 stayed 5 nights at the Leonardo Hotel. It met our expectations and the price was good. During our stay, there were several large groups at the hotel (lots of tour buses) which is what it seems like the Leonardo caters to. The location is a short taxi ride to most places we wanted to go in town, but we did not feel like it was very walkable.
Hotel for tourist groups
I stayed here, but felt completely out of place as it appears to be a place for tourist group. Hard to get elevator and restaurant is too expensive. There are no restaurants outside closely. Need to walk at least ~15 minutes to get the nearest small restaurant. Any localtours you need to do - most of them need you to get to another hotel (at least 20 minutes away by walk) for pickup.
The food did not meet with Kosher standards.
I didn't find the hotel staff nice at the front desk. We did not have the breakfast so we wanted a discount and they did not give it to us.
Great stay
My stay there was wonderful. Very courteous staff, great breakfast and nice gym.
The personal at the breakfast gave several price for breakfast and it was me and my son, online it says $20.00 and he charge $25.00 a stocky man then when I mention it to him he started to scream on front of everyone one do you want it or not very very rude it was so embarrassing that I will never go back I had stayed in this hotel in Tlv but never had this experience I will not recommend this hotel I am so sorry this kind of people work for you
Good service, not very clean and comfortable .
Hotel was in good location, very close to old city. Room was specious, but furniture was bad quality- made of weather and linens were fell down. Room was derty. Hotels stuff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was delicious. Don't think it was not worse the price.
Nice hotel near the old city
Had an excellent experience! The food at the hotel was the best. A good variety and good quantity.
Nice hotel within walking distance to Old City
We stayed at this hotel during what is considered the off season, but the hotel was quite busy. We ended up on the 8th floor which has balconies. We did open the door to the balcony to get fresh, cool air. As nearly as we could tell, the hotel does not have air-conditioned rooms. Our room overlooked one of the main streets in Jerusalem so with balcony door open, it was quite noisy, but the noise was not bad with the door closed. The room was of nice size and the bed quite comfortable. The breakfast buffet is quite nice with many options, typical of an Israeli hotel. We did not pay for breakfast when we made our reservation, thinking that we could explore options close to the hotel. That was a mistake. We should have included breakfast as part of the reservation. The closest place to have breakfast is by Damascus gate and that would have had, at best, coffee and a pastry. Staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful. The property is not new, but reasonably well-maintained.
Nice modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff
Room was fairly standard and basic, but comfortable. 2 mins from Jerusalem light railway station into the town centre and close to the old city. Good breakfast and nice atmosphere. Don't get confused with the Leonardo Plaza in King George St (this hotel is in St George St)
Good value.
The only negative thing is the Expedia said our breakfast was included and it wasn't. Still, we enjoyed our stay.
Great hotel
We really loved this hotel. Ended up staying an extra night (6nts). We had a balcony and the view was amazing. There were chocolates and bottles of water everyday in the room. The beds and decor was upscale. The lobby is beautiful with fresh flowers. There are stores and a bar and a cafe. The valet is extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great Hotel for the $
Great staff, location and condition. The included breakfast was also really good!
Reunion
The hotel location is excellent. Check in process was smooth , thanks to Nour at the front desk. Room size is decent and the view is nice. The food was very good.
3 nights
originally had some reservations about east Jerusalem location, but this is ideal location for old city and center visits
Tourist Hotel catering to Tour Groups
It's a hotel catering largely for tours business. So a lot of people come and go. Close to the Damascus gate if you intend to go to the Old City. Breakfast and Dinner were plentiful.
good food .good place . bad service
the hotel is very nice and the food is very tasty .it is near of all jerusalem major sites. the staff is a bit tiered and need to learn how to serve hotel gusts.
2.5 stars
Rooms are nice. Neighborhood is scary. Breakfast was really bad.
Friendly staff.
Such helpful front desk employees. Food in restaurant was very good.
Few days in the city. Great place to stay
Overall this is a good hotel to stay for a few days. Rooms are clean and big enough. Did. It understand the breakfast structure. One day great, big and all you need - the next day 30% less of the options. still big buffet.
Nice hotel close to Meah Shearim.
it is a very nice clean hotel. We had a wonderful stay. It was close to Meah Shearim and all the Synagogues. The food was delicious and plenty. As it was cold outside, inside it was nice and warm. The gym room was good and available at all times.
Frequent traveller spent 10 lovely days here.
The quibbles I've read here about the food, neighborhood, etc. are apparently from people who want luxury and ultra-convenience for a bargain price. Allow me: The Leonardo is a perfectly acceptable place to stay while in Jerusalem. Above all else, the staff is nothing less than incredible. They are all so dedicated here. They will go out of their way to help you. I stayed here for 10 days and I watched them time and time again accommodate guests of all sorts. Second, the food is just fine. The breakfast buffet is really impressive, with a huge variety of food to choose from. After eating such wonderful breakfast, you hardly need lunch. I am confused by the comments I read from people who said the neighborhood has nothing. People, this is east Jerusalem. If you want a strip of restaurants and shops, go west. But if you don't mind walking a mere 10 minutes, well, there's this thing called the Old City. A very quick (and reasonable) cab ride could take you elsewhere. There's also a light rail line right in front of the hotel. For 6 shekels you can take a 5-10-minute ride and have a night out somewhere. If you want to stay closer to home and you don't mind spending a little more, have dinner (or just a drink) at the absolutely gorgeous American Colony hotel (a 2-minute walk from the Leonardo).
Luxury hotel, great buffete!
We stayed for 3 nights at Leonardo Jerusalem, the hotel is Big, comfortable, very nice, close to the old City and a delicious buffete breakfast. We definitely recommend it!
no manager for any help
after not getting the room you paid extra for it and then not getting credit for that ? that's a NO NO the manager was no where to be found even after 4 times requesting a call I never got it
Good cost / benefit but busy with groups
For those who prefer international hotel chains with no surprises - this used to be the Sheraton as far as I knew. Great breakfast with good variety of food. Busy in the mornings, when all groups leave together. If one doesn't care about different higiene/culture habits from different groups of all parts of the world when eating, it is fine. We don't - therefore it was ok. Rooms were fine - one of the rooms was smelling smoke and the other had air conditioned issues. I liked the hotel and the price I paid.
Leonard's Jerusalem, not the Plaza.
A thoroughly enjoyable visit. The hotel was, as usual, welcoming and comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly. It sits slightly away from the downtown area and not far from the Old City. Didn't go there this time, but good to know it's there.
Not the leonardo i thought but was ok
Was a disappointment to get there thinking that i was booking the leonardo hotel on king george st. To similar in name of hotel and name of street. Not fair
We had a lovely stay.staff were very nice
Very nice place not at the center and very small pool but even with that I was very happy with my vacation
Enjoyable
Very enjoyable breakfast was very good with lots of choice
It is an ok hotel. Thr best about it is its location. I did not like the smell of the room and the lobby.
Not a 4 star hotel. Problem with air conditionor. Not clean. Small rooms. No ironing
Clean, impressive hotel. Excellent breakfast selection and quality of food.
jerusalem stay
all good
it works - but needs updating
the hotel could use an update - but the staff are marvelous and they try hard to help mae you comfortable
Barry
Pretty good
Great value, good location.
Good hotel and amenities, decent location a few blocks away from Damascus Gate. A lot of local Arab shops and restaurants nearby. I did not pay for the Buffete breakfast as there was a lot nearby shops and Buffete was expensive. If I ever Visit Jerusalem again I will stay here as it is a good value. Service was ok, very typical for Israel. One more thing, don't be surprised if when trying to check in they tell you your room will be ready until 8PM!
OK place
Not enough staff It took a long time to get talking to someone at the reception desk for help Telephone operator didn't respond to several calls
not good
We had reservation for 2nights and only stayed one night there was a heavy pesticide odor and we couldn't sleep left next day I feel that I entitled to a full refund plus,20percent tax
Nice hotel, close to transportation
The managers of the dining room Zaher and Ibrahim do an amazing job - excellent service, food is fresh, plentiful and beautifully set up
nice place to stay
it was nice and clean I paid $109 a night for that price it was very good I still keep coming back to this hotel every year
Good for large bus groups but little else. Avoid!
If you are travelling in a group then the Leonardo Hotel Jerusalem may work for you but if you are just a couple as we were then this is not the place to be. Let me share my experience. Day 1 A taxi just outside the front door, we were told, was a reliable and honest means to arrive at the train station. The driver, who shared with us that he was closely aligned with the hotel, assured us of his honesty and integrity. My wife and I soon realized that the driver had decided to take us anyway despite our refusal. This was bizarre. I asked to see the rate card that he had said listed the quoted rate. Upon viewing the card it was apparent that he had lied. The driver had tried to cheat us with a rate that had been 30% higher. This driver came to us on the recommendation of the front desk at the Leonardo Hotel Jerusalem. Day 2, 3 & 4 We asked that a Sherut (shared taxi) be arranged for our Sunday departure. Never happened. Day 2 Asked to be awakened for morning prayers in the old city. Never happened. I would strongly recommend that unless you are part of a large tour you avoid the Leonardo Jerusalem Hotel.
Ok for central Jerusalen
OK hotel. Standard room noisy, superior room ok. Hotel used by tour operators
Great hotel!
This is a great hotel! The staff is nice and professional. It's located on the edge of an Arab neighborhood. Overall great stay! Good price for value!
Overall great stay.
This is a great hotel! Located on the edge of an Arab neighborhood. Staff is nice and professional. The price is right for value.
Decent but not great
It was worth the money with no frills
no heater
no heater in the room in winter time. and the staff did not get us a solution about this problem.
Small rooms.
The rooms are very small and bathrooms smaller. We stayed in the best rooms too.
I spiritual journey in Jerusalam
i enjoyed my stay at the Leonardo Hotel and the staff was friendly, and attentive to my needs. I enjoyed the tours and hospitality that the staff provided. I felt safe and secure as I explored Jerusalam on my own.
Hotel in the centre of Jerusalem
The trip started well with check in being made quick and easy, this is not always the case in similar hotels. I found the room to be clean and very pleasantly furnished. if ever I needed to call from the room to reception the call was always answered quickly and the person at the other end of the phone was most helpful, I have found that in other hotels this can sometimes be a nightmare till the phone is answered and then you are put through to another extension that does not answer. The guest relation staff did their upmost to make the stay enjoyable and were on hand to deal with any situation however trivial. all staff were polite and friendly and most helpful including in the eating establishments in the hotel. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of choice of food and everything felt very fresh and clean. In summary a very nice stay with the staff making you feel very welcome.
Very good location and friendly staff
The hotel is located in walking distance to the old city and all the attractions. very friendly staff and comfortable rooms.
This hotel had a very good location (close to the Old City and very close to the light rail train). The front desk staff was unfortunately not helpful on a number of occasions. The hotel is very geared to groups; dining options are limited -- no way to get a cup of coffee or a snack or light breakfast without buying the buffet breakfast or dinner. The room was fine.
A lot of confusion at check-in
I arrived around 7 pm for check-in after a delay at the airport. There appeared to be only one employee trying to check-in guests and handle guest requests simultaneously. There was no clear cut line to get in and everyone just approached the front counter haphazardly. It made for a lot of line-cutting and angry/frustrated guests. The hotel did have a very nice breakfast and a good fitness room (free weights and some machines).
Second Chance But Never Again
We have previously stayed at this property in January, 2014 and were not impressed but were willing to give it another chance on our most recent trip. Hands down the staff at this property deserve an award for their overall lack of interest, desire to argue and complete and total lack of customer service. We booked a triple room with a couch and when we checked in we were given a double room and a dirty mattress was thrown on the floor next to the queen bed. You could literally not move in the room, let alone accommodate 3 adults. When we called the front desk we were told that was the room and they were sold out. Period. After literally having a shouting match with their "manager" we were finally moved to the room we booked....2 hours after we originally checked in. I could go on and on but this place is not worth the time. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
Nice hotel. Right outside old city.
Great location. Right outside the old city. Hotel management is great. Went for the holidays, stayed at Leonardo for Yom Kippur. Dinner was great.
ONLY ONE COMPLAINT - BREAKFAST LACKS REAL FRUIT JU
VERY GOODN - BEST IN ISRAEL
Nice people.helpful and fun.Enough already I dont have alot of time for your survey.
Review
Hotel was nice. Staff were quite unfriendly and unhelpful. Didn't pick up phone at reception. Nice room and pool very nice breakfast
Part of our disapointment is related to Expedia. We have traveled to Israel 23 times, at 7 or 8 different hotels. 22 times the price included breakfast. This reservation did not. The hotel told me that this often happens with Expedia. I was not offered the option including breakfast at the time I made reservations. (I have noticed that you now offer the option). The hotel offered to include breakfast for $40.00 per night. You offered at $20.00 per night. Had I knowned at the time , I would have stayed at the Grand Court (next door) where I usually stay. I was also disapointed with the Leonardo in general, as with Expedia. I can not imagine using Expedia in the future.
Adequate Facilities, Convenient Location
The facilities are adequate and the location is convenient, near the tram and within walking distance of the Old City and main commercial and regional areas. The tram also stops right by the hotel Staff could be better trained as services at times leaves something to be desired and the facilities, the gate to parking in particular could improve
leonardo hotel
The service was excellent location is good. The pool is small the bathroom is seperated from the toillet which is less convinient.
