Looking for cheap (but clean!) and cheerful then this is brilliant- we just needed a safe place to lay our head while visiting family
Staff were amazing thank you all
Average hotel in an okay area, modern reception but quite dated room. Staff were quite pleasant though. Passing through the city so done the job but would I return, probably not.
Glasgow West End Stay
Pleasant stay with friendly staff
The property was in a good location although a bit of a walk to the main shops and cafes in the west end. The room needs some tlc and was not very clean. Toilet had staining and the walls were dirty. The shower was broken and there was no hot water.
The hotel staff were friendly .. the rooms could do with an update.. peeling wall paper and looking tired . The showers were awful, changing from hot , cold to boiling constantly!
Xxx
The location is convenient for public transit. The train and bus station is near the area. The building is old but still functional. The elevator was small and there's only one working at the time. During the rush hour for checkout, it took a while to get down. There is a staircase but we have alot of luggages so the elevator was needed. Breakfast was not bad. There's hot and cold options to choose from (add on). Overall I'd actually stay here again. For the price point and convenience, it was pretty well worth it.
Very standard could do withupdate
This was NOT great. We were there for a wedding with friends and they have oversold the property, send us to a sister property for the first night. The hotel is very outdated, not the most clean nor well maintained - ie washroom in the lobby was out of service for the 3 days we were there and one of the 2 elevators was broken the entire time. The room was not impressive at all, bed was awful and the bathtub was very inconvenient. The housekeepers lady were helpful and front desk team was okish. Train station about 15min walk and bus stop is across the street. Somehow getting Uber to navigate the city was hard too, so the front desk was able to call a cab. For the price paid, I would definitely NOT recommend
Tired hotel and overpriced
A very tired room, wallpaper pulled off the wall. Curtains falling off rails and iron marks on the carpet. I was on the 4th floor and welcomed the bottle bins being emptied at 0550hrs to ensure I was fully awake.
Staff and service was great. Hotel was not too clean, rooms and beds were dirty.
Good location
A great price and a great location. On site parking and a quick train into the centre (10 minute walk to Hyndland) makes this a great find. The hotel is a bit older and could do with an update but it was clean and did the job. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
One Night Business Trip
This hotel is very tired and really is best described as a contractors hotel (Ground workers). This is not an issue but it is worth knowing. The door to my room worked intermittently so had a frustrating wait to get back into my room on a couple of occasions. Breakfast was a bit disappointing too not so much with the food but cups and cutlery were dirty. Overall for the price £105 including breakfast its not too bad, as long as you know what you are getting in advance. My personal choice would be not to re visit this one.
Had to request a remote none is room only 1 set of towels for 2 gust key cards didnt work phone for reception didnt work no whi fi
Stay was fine and staff were ok (not over welcoming). There was a strong smell of cleaning product or air freshener as you entered and reception area, which made us suspect it was masking something underlying.
Staff first class, nothing was too much for them. Food very good. Ideal stay.
Bed was clean and comfy although property is tired looking and In need of TLC , also charging guests for parking is just greedy, I stayed one night as I was meeting friends and I didn’t want to drive back to Ayrshire, I only noticed in the morning when I got out of bed that there was a condom wrapper lying beside my bed, I didn’t even make a cuppa tea I was so disgusted, I did report it to Greg at reception when I left that morning, all he said was I’ll speak to housekeeping , I thought he might have waived my parking charge , needless to say I doubt I will ever stay there again
.
Not the best experience
Your text is mostly clear, but here’s a grammatically improved version: I did not like it. It was extremely difficult to close the old water tap in the shower. The furniture is outdated. The breakfast did not meet expectations. Parking was only available at an additional cost. The only thing that redeemed the experience was the price.
Breakfast was really bad and not worth the money at all £16.95 nothing scottish in it was basic and dry nothing topped up, no bread or continental things out. Outside hotel doesnt look very nice 10 min walk to train station but absolutely nothing around this hotel
The room was clean and comfortable. This was a quick stay and we did not eat at the hotel this time. My only criticism is the shower was barely warm in the morning and would not heat up . I was on the second floor .
Stay away
Everything old and run down. Carpets had burn marks and stains, walls had marks all over them. All lights in the room didn’t work. Bathroom was filthy. Stair well had a very bad smell. Only one lift working.
Staff welcoming and friendly. Beds huge and comfortable. Bathroom really needs an update.
Room was dated. Shower over bath running hot and cold.
Terrible
Worst Saturday night experience ever. Might as well have been in the disco, so loud there was no point trying to watch tv never mind sleep. Finished at 11.53 as promised by the night staff, who knew exactly what it was like in our room but just shrugged - not a lot they can do about it if the managers sell rooms they know will be overwhelmed by the noise from the function rooms.
Staff very good but overall not as good as last time we stayed
Decent price, lots of parking at £5/24hrs. Hotel overall dated but clean. Very good access to the City . Situated in a nice affluent part of the City.On a major bus route
Quite
Hotel is pretty dated, and this makes it look quite run down. Hairs all over the bathroom and marks on the bedsheets. Staff was a bit rude on arrival. Could hear everything in next door rooms even though they weren’t being noisy and woken up from noise of cars in the car park. Overall, it needs some fresh paint, new carpets and a deep clean. Also the name needs to change, not in the west end at all.
Not worth what I paid
1st room was so bad I requested a move. Filthy! Pls the curtains were falling down (held up by the open window), wallpaper peeling and bathroom ceilings flaking everywhere. Requested change and staff couldn't be more helpful, second room was acceptable. Had to ask for my vip perk but again staff were great.
All good
Comfy bed and clean room..nice lounge
Ok for a cheap stay
Hotel is a little tired and needs some TLC My room had a cracked mirror, a bent side light and a crooked toilet roll holder which couldn’t be used It was a spacious room with a fridge and kettle which was useful I was given a room which had a messy bed but this was quickly resolved with another room Great for a cheap stay
Don't be fooled by the Photos.
Had to change rooms due to cleanliness of first room and 2nd room wasn't much better. Dirty tired hotel so don't be fooled by the photos.
Better hotels in Glasgow for less money
I love going to this hotel the staff are super friendly-the hotel itself is a bit old and creaky but so am I.
Shower wss rubbish and hardly worked
Great service from staff.
fab hotel!
Tired hotel, staff changed the room on request due to cleanliness and damage in the room. Cooked breakfast, although plentiful, was just warm. Staff were helpful and professional.
Convenient location for 1 night stay. However noisy room near lift and uncomfortable bed. Also an iron mark on carpet.
Very poor experience.
Very overpriced for a 3 star rating. Having to pay £5 per day for carpark hotel guests was a bit too excessive. The food was very limited and also overpriced and what was on the menu had all run out.
Very convenient for overnight stay near to university.
Not the cheapest in town and would have been acceptable if it were not for the breakfast, eggs probably cooked the day before, coffee was way too strong for my taste.
Clean and accessible to area attractions
Nice location and great service
I needed a hotel near the airport with a late checkin and found this hotel. Because of my Hotels.com loyalty tier, the rate included a bottle of wine and breakfast which was super. I woke up to a nice peaceful view of a pond which i walked around before leaving for the the train station in to Glasgow which is a 5 minute walk away.
Staff were fantastic, room and bathroom a bit tired.
N/a
It’s right next to a hospital so you hear ambulances early morning with the signs, room was badly in need of an upgrade old fashioned and faded shower is connected to the taps so one minute it’s cold the other minute it’s burning you, bed is comfy though, after football I asked staff for a drink and bar was closed before 11am I wouldn’t go back to the hotel staff was very dry towards us too.
It’s fine here, does the trick.
Did what is said on the tin , comfortable and clean room . Older hotel now, and needs a facelift .
Goods value for money..although not happy with the parking charges for residents staying at the hotel. Should be free. Polite staff at reception. Good size room clean and tidy. Bathroom clean and tidy. Shower now great. Otherwise very happy
The room was dirty, with wrappers under the beds and cabinets. The shower was extremely difficult to use, you had to use extreme force to turn off the shower, and even then it would continue to drip throughout the day/night. The staff however were lovely and welcoming.
Nice place . Good food.
The room 236 had a bathroom which looked a bit worn. The bathroom was a bit cramped and the shower was way too powerful.
Unless your with a tour group, yo dont get any breakfast unless uou pay extra. Hotel needs serious updating. Strange smells in upper corridors. Only 1 small elevator for a 4 story bldg.
We stayed at the Leonardo Inn on Great Western Road in Glasgow, Scotland, for 13 days. The hotel's location in the west end, close to a train station and local amenities like M&S, was convenient. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. However, our overall experience was disappointing. One of the two elevators was out of order, leaving a small, overcrowded elevator as the only option. Noise was also an issue—early morning deliveries to the nearby M&S and a car alarm that went off multiple nights disrupted our sleep. Additionally, we observed suspicious activities in the parking lot, NEDs selling gear and getting drunk. Towards the end of our stay, my wife noticed bites that we initially thought were from midges. However, we later discovered bed bugs in our room, with the hotel seemingly fumigating nearby rooms without informing us. This led to a stressful departure as we had to travel with bites and take extreme precautions to avoid bringing bed bugs home, resulting in the destruction of several personal items. Given these issues, we cannot recommend staying at this hotel.

Quite location and near to glasgow botanical garde
We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 kid and the allocated room had just 1 double bed. The front desk staff was helpful and arranged a small bed but was not very comfortable. Breakfast was nothing to write about and could be definitely improved.
Comy bed and nice breakfast
Value for money
Quiet hotel 3 miles from city centre. Uber £12 or walk via botanical gardens to Kelvingrove in 40 minutes. All facilities fine, large bed with great pillows. Dining options and bar service very efficient. Would stay again
One of the elevators broke. Has to carry my luggage to 4th floor.
Dated and dirty. Cold showers
Excellent
The bed was very uncomfortable very thin pillows.
Cheap parking and easy access to city centre by bus.
Comfortable inn
Great welcome. We were allowed into our room early. Comfortable beds spacious room. Great view over pond.
Dated property. Additional charge for parking
Don’t recommend
The room we had originally had no hot water and we were moved to a different room. It was very noisy, even though we closed the windows and we were on the third floor. The building has four floors we were on the third floor. It was very noisy. We could hear cars all night and people talking. It was a terrible night sleep.
The price was right for this stay. Glasgow is an old neighborhood and the location was perfect for the area, and for me as well. The people did everything they could to be helpful. They lounge, bar etc. are very nice. Temperature was wonderful, did not need heat. Showing it's age, but great for me. It is Glasgow! Great value.
Disappointing
Not a very accessible hotel from city centre. Very tired rooms which seemed cramped and what i would expect from low level budget room yet pricing is certainly not a low budget. Disappointing.
Safe place to stay. Staff are very helpful
I received none of the Expedia VIP benefits. I had to call reception at 4am to quiet down the ‘nightclub’ noises from the room on 4am. Night manager got music switched off, but people in the room continued to be noisy, not much sleep
Hotel was booked as it was convenient to the function we were attending. Some aspects of the rooms need updating but on the whole we had no issues and staff and food were very good.
A nice basic hotel though could do with a makeover in some parts. Staff were excellent and knowledgeable.
Great location. Only issue was housekeeping only came to our room 1 time for the entire week even though our sign was placed on the door.
Cheap hotel in great location for local concerts
Nice clean room, excellent shower. Lots of tea and coffee etc.
The room in the hotel was not cleaned before we went in. There was rice and dirt on the carpet. The breakfast wasn’t good. We went down at 8 most mornings and what was left of the scrambled eggs was dry and unappetising the fried eggs were all gone as was the orange juice and it wasn’t replenished. There was no water to drink either for £13 each per night it wasn’t acceptable.
everything was ordinary
The staff at the hotel are wonderful. Very friendly and very helpful. The location is close to bus stops which is very helpful. The room itself was not super clean, in that the shower had grime in it, and the bedding had stains and some stray hairs in it. Also didn’t love that the door for the room didn’t have another lock on it aside from the auto lock from the outside. Overall this place is fine for if you need a bed to sleep in at night, but I don’t know if I would stay there again.
Clean bedding. Good breakfast. But…..room next to lift so noisy, room furniture and decor old and tired, bathroom flooring and fittings in poor condition, warm with no air conditioning, too much external noise to open windows, view over dirty flat roof. Shame as hotel not full and sure we could have been allocated a nicer room.
Great value and clean
The biggest plus regarding this property was the staff, extremely helpful and the proximity to public transportation and the west end. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A good alternative to the more expensive hotels in city center.
Nice
The staff were great. The room was small but adequate. It was a bit warm because of unusually warm weather but we were able too moped the window which helped.
Flawless experience, clean and comfy room, good value for money in Glasgow at this time of the year.
Room was average for the price. Did the job but the shower/bath wasn’t the cleanest looking and quite outdated. Room was very warm even with the window open with no option for air conditioning. Very noisy, can hear everything in the halls/other rooms.
Tired needing upgrade
Hotel very tired looking with a claustrophobic feel when inside. Room needs updating as very hot; window open all the time to keep cool. Shower virtually hot or hotter with no control; need a gym membership to turn off. Room not tidied or clean towels even though left instructions with reception and sign on door; had to visit reception when returned at end of day to get clean towels and refresh coffee tea. Asked about room safe and was told not to use as not safe; put stuff in it but may not be able to open. The reception staff I met were very friendly and helpful. Wouldn't recommend staying until the basic expectations mentioned above are resolved.
A bit tired
Nice place just too far away from town
The staff went out of their way to help and were so friendly. They more than made up for the rather "tired" building and decor.
One night stay, and there’s a M&S food market next door for snacks and booze
Truly Awful
Run down hotel with a very strong odour of drains in the reception area. The room had no hot water in the shower, dirty walls and carpet, room overlooking overflowing bins and a massive extraction system which was very noisy. The lovely guy on reception let us change rooms but this was one was as bad as it was overlooking a petrol station, busy road and directly above the reception entrance, where people were coming in and out loudly throughout the night! This room also smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke, which even with the windows open did not go away! The walls and windows were so thin you could hear everything!
The faucet on the shower did not function properly. Instead of fixing it they expect guests to follow a Byzantine and unintuitive process to get the water and temperature right and then do another process to get it off. No attempt to move us or make it right. Just keep turning knobs this and that way until it’s on or off. Small room and noisy hallway. The mattress cover was torn and the sheet too small to stay on correctly. Below average mattress.
Had a room on the third floor & had the worst sleep ever! Constant noise of pipes clanging/doors banging from above all night. No staff members available to complain to
The condition of the room was dirty around the bathroom floor and bedroom carpet. The seating was unusable and had mark of excrement on the seat. Totally unacceptable.
