Hotel was very nice. Breakfast was good, the bacon was not so good on the second morning (overcooked) but everything else was good. Complementary water and coffee machine in the room was nice. They provided us with toothbrushes and toothpaste. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Really nice room with huge windows, was a bit hot though
Bed and bathroom were clean but the carpet was very old and worn and didn’t look clean or vacuumed. Corridors were equally looking a bit rundown. It’s in a great area though for transportation to the airport and a quick walk into town. It was quiet at night as well. I was only there briefly but check in and out were simple and staff were helpful.
They gave us a room next to the public bathroom and it was horrible. I asked for another room but they didn’t have anything available. I told them that we have a horrible spell from the public bathroom and the noice was way too loud since we were in the lowest floor. The hotel is nice but please don’t get a room on the first floor ask for a room higher. We had a hard time sleeping with the notices and our door would hit the cod bed and it we really annoying.
Have stayed here before and as before nice stay, good area off the Main Street
Such a great hotel to stay in. Wonderful size room, amazing breakfast daily, staff so nice. 10/10
Staff is very friendly and they surprised us for our wedding anniversary with special treats in the room. Hotel is quiet and offer breakfast and bike for rental.
I enjoyed my stay here. There was construction directly in front and on the side of the hotel. The staff were very kind and helpful. I would stay here again super convenient.
Negative first- so prior to the holiday the hotel messaged to ask my room preferences. I messaged back and on arrival these had been completely ignored. We had been given twin beds rather than a double (2 twins connected together). Avoid the basement rooms as these are dark, without privacy, and noisy. Had to pull the curtains on my first day there as cleaning staff sat outside on my rooms window ledge talking and smoking. As the lights were on you can see through the net curtains - they could see what my family were doing! Complained to the lobby staff who said they were fully booked and offered to move us to a very small double room which wasn’t suitable as needed a bed for my daughter. They offered us two separate rooms but again not suitable to split a 13yr old from her parents. After explaining this they then offered to find us a room the next day as had multiple people checking out so we agreed with this. Positive- after this rough start the second room was perfect- light, roomy, on a higher floor and a “double” bed. This was the holiday we had booked and saved for as we were finally able to enjoy ourselves. The mini fridge was handy for our snacks and evening drinks, the coffee machine was good but needs to have bigger cups in the room to accommodate the ‘full cup’ option. The breakfast selection was amazing but did dwindle by the end of the week. The little sweets and apples by reception were a good touch to take out with us. Everything turned out well in the end!
Nice and quiet neighborhood.
Short break
We spent 3 nights here while visiting family. We checked in late on our first and were given a room on the ground floor. We asked for a room change the next morning due to noise from the street in addition to that of other guests constantly passing our room and the very early hoovering of the reception area. This room was also very dark with stale smells, Reception addressed out concerns by moving us to the 1st floor and away from the Main Street. Everything was grand after that. Would stay again
Excellent stay.
Front desk help was consistently outstanding! Very welcoming and professional. Had a minor maintenance issue that was promptly and cheerfully resolved. Enjoyed the quiet location and great breakfast. 5 stars!
Wonderful service a very friendly staff
Property was very clean. I had a very nice room but had to give it up as the television was nit working. I also inquired how much it will cost if I extended my stay for a night, I was horrified as they quoted me more than the cost of my entire 3 night stay..
The reason I rated the hotel as average was that it was very difficult for seniors with luggage. The front entrance did not have a ramp as an alternative to carrying luggage up the stairs. In addition, each floor had steps to contend with depending on where your room was.
The staff was very friendly from when I walked in, they were patient with my reservation. I had issues dealing with the airline and my luggage, they took the time to help me call the airline and sort out my problem. Hotel was in close proximity to museums, shops and restaurants.
Location
Great location the staff were all excellent but my room was very old and tired it was si hot and no air con there was a noisy air cooler that made the room hotel needs updating
Would not recommend this place. The place was not the cleanest. You do not get a room cleaning service… and the staff was not the friendliest. Just spend the couple extra dollars and stay at the marriot next door
Ernst is the best staff of the Hotel, he will help and guide you on anything you need in amsterdam. the location is just a few steps from stores, restaurants etc
The service at the front desk was excellent. Staff was friendly. However, on most days our rooms did not get cleaned and when it was serviced, glassware was not replaced and trash not emptied. The room had mosquitos and noise from wildlife outside.
Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating, plus it was Central to everything
Staff were very polite, friendly and super helpful. Very nice place Would stay again and highly recommend
The room I had was below strèet level right next to the hotel entrance. All the guests who smoke were right outside my window. They smoke and talk all hours. Also my room was als below the dining area so when it opened for breakfast I also heard that crowd. Then to top it off, there constant construction. The hotel and room were good. But this was the loudest and worst room I have ever had because of the noise.
Nice hotel with good location on a walking distance to museums and restaurants!
Was on basement floor. Smelled of mold. Open window to a small coart yard to find a black shoebox sized Rat Trap within reach. Gross!.Did not feel safe having said window open. Cats fighting all night just outside. Bed was very uncomfortable. Poor ventilation.
Good location and friendly staff. Room was good but smaller than we thought--no place to open the suitcase, and the AC was really only a fan, so the room was too warm.
This hotel is centrally located, only 5 min walk to the tram stop. This area is very quiet and away from all the bars and party scene. The staff was very welcoming and the room was clean. They do need to get some higher quality pillows because the ones available now are pretty bad. We did have an issue with the A/C not working for 2 nights straight of our stay and staff mentioned this problem started on a Friday and it was Tuesday and this problem was still not resolved. This is unacceptable, this is not a cheap hotel and matters like this happening in Summer when it’s hot should be addressed ASAP. The front desk lady told me the hotel was not prepared for something like this to happen and they did not have any fans to offer guests. Luckily, we were here for a short stay but I feel sorry for guests that were staying longer. If you are staying soon here make sure to call in advance and ask if the A/C is working properly. Other than this issue, everything else was fine.
The area surrounding the hotel is ideal due to its close proximity to public transportation. It’s also very quiet and appears to be mostly families living near by which i very much appreciated. The lobby is nice enough but the hallways of the rooms have stained, old carpets that leave much to be desired. Our initial room was extremely small. We were given a room with two twin beds which is impractical for a couple traveling together for our wedding anniversary. The AC and the refrigerator were not working for the entirety of our stay. Thankfully the windows could open in our room and the temperature was cool outside. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The pillows were decent but any padding was not existent and the springs of the mattress did not allow for any kind of restful sleep. We did speak with the front desk staff and they arranged for us to move into another room which was slightly bigger. They left snacks for us with an apology note for any inconvenience and we were given a breakfast voucher. At a quick glance the room appeared clean but upon further inspection we noticed hair of what I presume was the previous guest all over the shower walls and in the drain. The shower was also backing up, filling the bottom with dirty water. We are grateful for the front desk staff who were kind and attentive but unfortunately we would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel especially for the price we paid for it.
Overall really good experience. The only issue was AC was not cold enough that we had to open window. And, the shower stall was too small.
This was a great hotel. Very central to everything in the city. Easy to walk to places as well as using public transportations such as trams, trains and buses. The hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely helpful. The only down side to this hotel is that the shower leaks all over the bathroom floor every time you use it. Other than that it’s the perfect place to stay when in the center of Amsterdam!
Should provide housekeeping bathroom service at a minimum daily
Good location making it easy to get around the city
No air conditioning: Staff promised to repair it the next day. This did not happen. we were offered complimentary breakfast. AC was not yet repaired on our departure
Great place
Check in was smooth right in the middle and walking distance to everything.

Very convenient to museums and tram. There is a bus that goes from the airport to a block from the hotel. You don’t need to take the train. I didn’t use housekeeping- it seems it is available but for three days I didn’t use it. I felt it was an extra in a way.
Very limited amenities, tiny room with a slit window, run down appearance, dreadful breakfast buffet, noise from other room tv, no option for coffee in room except instant powder, cracked tile in shower, . The only good thing was location, but there are plenty of other hotels in that area.
Nice to have the elevator to get bags to and from the room. Stairs were convenient after bags were placed in room! Walkable to what we wanted to see and the trams/trains were easy and accessible
Great location, easy access to all attractions.
Great stay. Breakfast gets very crowded. Get there early.
Location was great! Able to walk or take the tram easily. We liked the number of cozy restaurants near by. Staff was friendly, only slight minus was we tried to check in a bit earlier but couldn’t. Our morning arrival with 9 hours jet lag was tiring.
Very friendly staff, great location and room was very clean.
Everything was excelent)
2 star Maybe in Amsterdam!
Hotel staff was amazing, especially the lady in the breakfast area first rate and a very hard worker. Condition of hotel for the Leonardo Chain was terrible! Carpet and floors in terrible condition! Way overpriced for size of room. Location was excellent/ Breakfast was worth it! Room tiny! So many excellent choices in Amsterdam! Staff amazing! Clean up the hotel!
Bathroom had mold. The hotel looked rundown.
This was a nice hotel tucked in a neighborhood setting with lots of dining and transportation options a short walk away.
NJ traveller
The staff was pleasant and helpful despite being very busy. Housekeeping respond quickly for my request. I see management walking around to check on things. The breakfast was very good with good variety. Location was excellent close to park and public transport and museums(walking distance). Easy to get to hotel on tram from Central station. Hotel is clearly well used and hence a little worn out. But clean and serviceable. Also tight in space but as expected for centrally located hotel in heart of city.
Very good
Great but small.
Great little place. Close to food and sights. Rooms was cramped and so was the bathroom.
Good for short stays
Great hotel. Nice location, Close to many shops and restaurants. Staff was very friendly. Only gripe would be the rooms and bathrooms are small. Quite cramped.
Friendly and great location
Very friendly and helpful staff. The location was amazing!
It was larger than most rooms I’ve stayed at in Europe which was nice. We thought it was a great location, in the past we have been further from the city centre. House keeping was the only drawback for us. We had to take towels from the house keeping cart in the hall almost daily. Sheets were not changed out ever. Shampoo bottle was empty when we arrived and remained empty for our whole visit. We also borrowed the broom to do our own sweeping.
Very nice overall, great breakfast, but small room and no towels when we got the room.
Unexpected Stairs, 6” to get around bed to bathroo
Room353 is very hard to get around bed. Please remove the desk to make it safe. The beam in the shower is hard to avoid. Steps in and out of hotel and after exiting elevator were unexpected and a challenge.
I like the location. I didn't like my initial room given to me wasn't clean. The second room, the bathroom, had mildew in the shower, on the shower floor, and on the walls.
The room wasn't reading on time 2 hour's late
One day with no hot water. Safety lock on door broken. Breakfast worth buying. Few local breakfast options
Good Excallant
Excellent service, particularly from reception and (mostly) at breakfast. Good location for transport, handy for Rijksmuseum and Vondel park. The lighting in room 151 wasn't good; with the curtains closed and all the black-shaded lights on it was too dim for dressing. The radiators are wastefully behind the curtains, themselves not easy to draw. What is the point of the silenced tv at breakfast? No one watched it or could listen. The flickering screen was distracting.
Our room was in the basement and the bathroom had no ventilation which I think is illegal. The room stank like must and was so damp. The room was also not very clean. The staff were very kind, we told them in the morning as we were only staying the one night between travel days and we’re very tired
Nice stay. The staff is very nice. The room was a bit on the smaller side, but we had a great balcony.
Very good property.
Wouldn’t stay here.
Stay in room 5 right next to front door/reception. Did not sleep at all as people coming in and out of front door all night, very big door which slammed shut very loudly. Also as on ground floor, people smoking and talking outside our bedroom window. Lovely staff did offer us breakfast but we had an activity booked.
Loved the location. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Nice and clean ..lovely staff and relatively close to a few bars etc..but no bar in hotel
Near the action and access to transportation but located on a quiet street.
We had a cozy room on the 3rd floor, with an interesting roof line and windows you could open that looked out on the neighborhood. The breakfast was very nice, with lots of good food available. The location is wonderful: close to Vondelpark, the Rijksmuseum, canal boat rides and restaurants.
The location was very good, the property was old, the rooms were small, the elevator was broken. Expedia advertises this hotel as a 4-star property. I believe that the accurate star rating should be 2,5 stars - at the most.
Room was dark, but breakfast was good and staff was friendly and helpful
Great neighborhood. Reasonable hotel, small rooms, front desk staff ok.
Small & decent
The lobby area was nice. The carpet upstairs was dirty. The room was small and dark w a slanted ceiling making it even smaller. The bed was comfortable. Shower very small but hood water pressure and water was hot.
The Hotel is in a quiet street just off the main street. The hotel itself is very pretty and clean. They are helpful and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. Very convenient. It is close to Leidesplein Square and transit station. Bus 397 that goes to Schipol Airport leaves from in front of Asics store. There is also a convenience store next to Asics. The Museum district is nearby within walking distance. There is a park if you want to relax during the day. You can walk to De Pijp neighborhood, plenty of restaurants there. I recommnend
A very pleasant stay...
We originally went to the Leonardo Boutique City Centre Hotel instaed of the Leonardo City Centre Hotel. Once it was worked out that we were at the wrong hotel, it was only a 5 minute walk to the correct one. Situated in a pleasant, quiet streen just behind Vondel Park we received a warm welcome. Our room was situated on the 1st floor near the lift as requested. The room was ideally sized for our needs and had a lovely street view. The breakfast was great and the check-out was speedy. The lady on reception also called a cab for us which arrived within a couple of minutes.. All in all a very pleasant stay which we would be happy to repeat... AAA+++
Great stay!
Wonderful stay! Excellent service and location. Everything that you need for a couple nights away. Nice quiet room, but only a three minute walk to busy areas.
The hotel was located close to trams, buses, places to eat, and the museums. It was very convenient. The staff were very nice, and the room was clean with huge windows.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Great comfortable and clean room. Walking distance to almost everything.
Very Happy
Stayed 7 nights at the hotel and very pleased overall. The staff especially were very friendly and helpful. Room was a bit compact but that's the type of room we selected I suppose. Room clean and maintained clean daily. We had access to free tea/coffee etc 24hours. Staff facilitated us by allowing us to use the breakfast/dining room for family get-togethers in the evenings - bringing our own food & drink (pubs & restaurants were closed from 8pm due to Covid restrictions). No lunch/dinners available in the hotel but loads nearby. Nine of us stayed, from 3 night - 7 nights. There was no bar on the premises but we know that when booking. Great location for restaurants, shopping & museums - we walked everywhere (but trams available a couple of minutes away if needed)
Enjoyed my stay
Good quality hotel in the centre
In easy reach on the centre.
location, room maintenance by staff was very good, quiet, good bedding, easy check in and out, early check in very helpful with room ready, pleasant and helpful desk staff, and price
Smoking in front of the hotel and smoking went to my room on floor#1 room # 111
Perfect comfort
Great location, nice and professional staff who checked me in and out swiftly. Clean and modern design to the hotel and it’s rooms. Nice view of the surrounding areas + easy to locate with good transport links.
Very good for the nightly fee, and the location was perfect for us. Very friendly staff, welcoming and accommodating.
Great stay
Staff were so so nice, room was beautiful, I highly recommend for couples
Very nice Hotel, Clean,Polite staff, Asked for
Great hotel
Great hotel middle of city. 5 minutes walk to the famous bulldog cafe and all city center shops and bars. Air conditioning is great and hotel room is spacious and very comfortable
Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Had a great couple of nights sleep in clean comfy room Also hotel was short walking distance to attractions.
The hotel was generally fairly quiet at night and was comfortable. Front desk enabled constant access. Breakfast was enjoyable and substantial. My only negative was that the hotel was too hot and we had to open the window. Although a no smoking hotel, many people did at the front of the property, it would have been considerate to provide seating especially as I have Parkinsons. I would recommend this hotel and would reuse again.
Lack of restaurant or bar even though the hotel is close to other bars and restaurants it would be nice to have options.
The room was clean and the staff was helpful. I thought the location was great
Nice hotel in good location
Second time staying here in Amsterdam. Staff friendly enough. Well situated hotel, main sites are within walking distance. Clean, spacious room, which was well equipped. Only downside was the pillows... they were square and too thick. My parnter was ok with them as he normally sleeps on 2 pillows. But as I sleep with 1 normally it was too thick for me. So I ended up sleeping on my jumper. Other than that, it was a nice hotel for a good price!
Good locality. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. No issues.
Centrally located in the bus/canal and Trams. Little community of streets were and easily found. Close to restaurants and shops. Hotel was fresh and clean and rooms were large and at night very quiet. Bed was cozy. The free buffet breakfast was delicious and hot.
Goede locatie
Leuk hotel.
I've stayed at Leonardo Hotels in Europe a couple other locations and they tend to be clean, smart and in great locations. The Leonardo City Center Amsterdam are all the above but the rooms are fairly dated although very clean. The common areas are all very nice and inviting. I do want to send a well deserved shout out to their staff whom are all personable, welcoming and accommodating. I'd definitely stay there again but it's not quite as 'chic' as the others I've used.
Very good service, cool workers, very chill place to stay, had a big room at the top floor and had awesome view out on the Belk
Will come back again!
Staffs are helpful and friendly, unfortunately there is a small water leak matter in my room but overall are good. Location is the best!
