We had a great time. The hotel is walking distance to the old city and the bus terminal. The staff is very nice and helpful.
Comfortable rooms, amazingly helpful staff, lovely view from the room’s balcony. Pretty close to everything. Walking distance to Bab Al-Amoud.
Everything was close to the old city
The hotel was a short walking distance to the Damascus Gate of the Old City. The hotel itself was comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was vert satisfactory but staff could be a bit more attentive to the coffee machine which needed cleaning inside and out. Also, it's not good when there is no milk at breakfast as happened on one occasion.
good hotel in a good location
hotel is good, located just outside the muslim quarter of the old city so very convenient to visit Jerusalem. perhaps a bit pricey.
The property was clean organized there 2 restaurants were great food selections. The hotel was also walking distance to old Jerusalem
The staff were helpful friendly and very courteous! The Showers are the best features.
Helpful staff at the reception specially Mr. Ali. Highly recommended.
Very nice and friendly staff
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Legacy especially the friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be staying here again!
Very good hotel to stay in many purposes
Very good newly renovared hotel in top location
Great location and nice rooms
Hotel location is great, very close to old city. Rooms with nice view, very clean with new furniture. Breakfast buffet contains multiple options and salads.
Legacy in Jerusalem
The hotel was clean and comfortable, though I'm not sure I'd call it a 4-star hotel. It seemed rather expensive but after a few months in Jerusalem, I discovered that the Legacy is about average in price for the area. The hotel is very close to the Old City so walking is very convenient. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much.
This place is awesome the customer service from the front desk was amazing, especially RANA she was amazing she took time out to book our excursions and gave all advice into getting around, I would recommend this hotel. Thanks to all the team at Legacy Hotel
Very good rooms. 10 mins walk to Damascus Gate. Excellent breakfast. We asked for a room with a balcony and we were accommodated.
Great hotel. Very helpful staff. Very good value
It was my third time in Jerusalem and the second time at the hotel, and I owe you this: -The manager always helped me with what I needed. -The ladies Rana and Rudaina at the front desk all the time pay attention to any request. -At the restaurant in the breakfast every morning Diana and the other girls were excellent with their attention. Muchas gracias, I will see you soon,
Good location, and many restaurants and places to visit at walking distance.
The hotel was in a great location to walk to the Old City, downtown restaurants and many interesting sites. It have both a formal and informal restaurant on site. The room included a great breakfast and was reasonably priced. I would fully recommend this to everyone.
The location is just perfect!!! It is only about 8 mins walk to the Old City. The hotel is very close to a train station that will take you to city central bus stop ( from there you can go to Tel-Aviv, Dead sea etc, and the hotel is close to the bus station that will take you to Bethlehem, take bus 231. When you are in Bethlehem, you will be approach by many taxi drivers... You don’t really need a taxi if you go to the Church of the nativity. It will be about 15 mins walk. The Hotel is not far from restaurants and shops. Customer service in this hotel is amazing.
Initially, my room was so small...the size of a matchbox...with a balcony and faced a busy street. I requested and received a room change...which was so much better.
Very nice hotel, close to the Old City, with clean and comfortable rooms. Shower and wifi work just fine, breakfast is okay. 2 drawbacks: the very old TV and the lack of parking - there is one parking lot across the street but it is pricey and rates change all the time.
Nice place, nice people
Room was really small. Food was great!
The air condition was not working we had hard time to sleep
Very clean and tidy. Very helpful staff. Very close to old city few minutes walk. Highly recommended
great hotel! the staff is very nice and helpfull. nice breakfast. there is no swimming pool.
Lovely helpful staff. Restaurant problematic as it was Ramadan
Great place for the $
For this price range, you won't find much better. Good size rooms. Good size bed. They had a plate of fruit waiting in the room, which was nice. Good internet connetivity (which can be an issue in the larger and older hotels). Good water pressure in shower. Great location. Staff very helpful. Descent breakfast (probably with one of the better views for hotels of comparable price). I have stayed in a lot (and I mean A LOT) of comparable price hotels in the area. East Jerusalem is always far more pleasant and robust than West. The Legacy is definitely a good deal for this price range.
Enjoyable! Close to Old City & other attractions
Nice hotel. My rooom wasn’t huge, but clean and looked remodeled. I loved my balcony overlooking the city. I had a great experience at the restaurant on the 5th floor. Staff was friendly and food was delicious.
A nice hotel
Nice clean hotel. Great staff and close to light rail.
Great stay
Very comfortable hotel with an excellent restaurant.
Room 404 too hot, no good solutions
Our room was large and plenty of counter space, bathroom clean but could use an upgrade. Biggest complaint is air conditioner did not work well, it was too too hot. Hotel notified within one hour but offered changes were very small rooms, no counters, no bathroom counter and only one with a room split, the other just as hot. Receptionists and management not. Ery concerned and just pushed the problem off over and over. Only a night guy told me that the hotel mgmt knew about our room from precious complaints. Our friends had room 402--most excellent room with a split. Only other rooms with splits 401&307--both very small. Management knows about problem with 404, but no real solutions. Breakfast and restaurant very good.unless I had room 402, I would not stay there again period.
Great place to stay !!!
Great location just north the the Old City and an easy walk. The hotel staff was exceptional in every way, from the time we checked in until our departure. Breakfast was very good and our dinners at the hotel restaurant were very good as well. Nice view from the restaurant as well as from our room.
It was good but the lift was out of service for the duration of the stay, but otherwise good.Breakfast and food was good.Very helpful staff at front desk.
East Jerusalem nice hotel
The hotel was wonderful. The service was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable; the breakfast was so very good and plentiful. We had 4 rooms and our group completely enjoyed this hotel and we will stay here again next year with our group when we visit Jerusalem. There is free parking, the internet is fast. I highly recommend this hotel.
great clean hotel for old and new jerusalem
December 2016 we had 4 nights bed and breakfast the room was not large but clean the bed was comfortable but the pillows need replacing they have clearly been washed and has result become all out of shape we did have to use the heating system by night that worked fine their was a fridge in the room and tea coffee making stuff only shower in our room and I like to bath the hotel is a converted old 1950s YMCA it has some character so don't expect purpose built hotel Hotel location was brilliant for all the old city has to offer and the tram close by for the new Jerusalem .Hotel staff we helpful but not over friendly everyone the same in Jerusalem we both happy with hotel choice would recommend to like mined friends
Well kept hotel near some key sites
Nice clean room with a great shower room. Good breakfast with hot options. Only 5 minutes walk to damascus gate.
Great place to stay in Jerusalem
We really enjoyed our stay there. Wonderful people, service, and food. Great variety of food at breakfast. Clean rooms
Good location 5 minutes from Damascus Gate
Breakfast and dinner at the 5Th floor restaurant was very good, excellent view of the sun dawn from the balcony and the sun set from the windows by the stairs at the back of the hotel.
Very nice hotel closed to Old City Jerusalem
I had to find a hotel for a few nights as my other booking expired and there was no room. I selected Legacy Hotel because I needed parking as I had rented a car for the month of our stay. The room was nice, clean and had a wonderful view. There are two restaurants, one inside and one outside, both have great food. The price was great and the staff friendly and helpful. We left Legacy for a week to travel in northern Israel and when it was time to return to Jerusalem we stayed at the Legacy again. Future visits to Jerusalem will all be booked to stay at Legacy.
East Jerusalem
The hotel is conveniently located close to the Damascus Gate and is in a lively neighbourhood. The reception staff is attentive and answers questions promptly and helpfully. The air-conditioning did not work in the room and was not repaired, even after requests were made. The breakfast is excellent.
Nice hotel within walking distance of the Old City
We will stay at this hotel on our next visit to Jerusalem . The staff is very helpful, the food is good, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the location is exactly what we hoped for. We quickly walked to the Old City through the Damascus gate. We rented a car to your the surrounding areas. The hotel has secure parking across the streetl, which was convenient.
Nice hotel
Nearby to the old city and the Holly places with good staff
Just Okay
The furniture had stains, shower curtain had stains, some trash was in the bathtub, bathroom is small, almost fell off ledge near closet (safety hazard), room is outdated and small.
Close to Old City
The hotel was close to the Old City and thus convenient. Staff was friendly, and facility was clean. We did have a problem with the air conditioning in our room, and it was not fixed after several times of trying to contact maintenance staff, so that was annoying. The continental breakfast was excellent each morning, but wait staff was not always attentive. We had excellent meals in the two restaurants.
Great hotel
We enjoyed our stay. Great location and excellent staff. Close to old city.
Comfort stay
Enjoyable except front desk forgot to wake us up twice. TV was not easy to handle
Very Nice Hotel
Close to shopping, we were able to walk every where in Old Jerusalem the people were wonderful A very good place to stay hope to be able to return some day Thank you so much Samer and his staff they arranged our tours and we had so much fun on all of them.
Great location; great food; friendly & helpful staff and fairly decent facilities: all at a reasonable price…
Great possibility but below average
The location of this hotel is within a short walk of the Damascus gate. The rooms are in sore need of some basic upkeep from painting to modernizing the bathroom and A/C. Service was friendly but slow and not very motivated. Everyone seemed to move at a very slow pace.
to start with they gave us a very small room for three people . room was not cleaned at all. next day glasses and cups not washed. tv did not work 1st night of our stay. room was not for three people they just put extra bed no head rest for 3rd bed.not a friendly staff. any complained I made I was told that I will speak to my manager.not enough room for 3 people sorry this hotel not for me and my family in the future
Great little gem of a Hotel!
Three of us stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of hotels! Finding accommodations for three adults was not easy, however this hotel provided a nice size room with three single beds, so it worked perfectly. The hotel is lovely and within walking distance to the Garden Tomb and Damascus Gate of the Old City. No need for a cab or public transportation, but it is right out front, if need be. There is also a car rental lot next door, that has special rates for hotel guests, so if you are looking to venture out to Masada and the Dead Sea, be sure to check with the front desk for discount rates. The food and wine at the hotel restaurant (5th floor) is amazing! Everything we ate was truly a culinary delight. We were told that their chefs trained in Paris and it certainly showed. The staff and management were very friendly, accommodating and always available. The only negative was that the air conditioning was rather weak and did not cool the room above 75 degrees. They also turn it off between 2-4am, to let the fans cool off, so if you are staying here in the hot summer months, you will probably wake up like we did, as it gets really warm, really quick, without air conditioning. The good news is that there are several windows in the room that can be opened up, which provided a really great breeze.
Nice Hotel, close to the old city
Overall good stay, good location. The staff was friendly and helpful when assistance was needed. A great trip to visit the Old city and enter the Hotel for a relaxing ambiance!
Location Isn't Everything
First, the good. The hotel is easy walking distance to the Damascus Gate and the buffet breakfast is pretty good. However, the hotel is badly rundown. The beds are saggy and the air conditioner was prone to emitting screeching noises at length, at random and at the approximate volume of a police siren. The hotel is located in an arab neighborhood. There are no amenities in the immediate area. I would not choose to stay there again.
Lovely hotel, excellent location
Amazing stay, room was clean, updated and modern. Location was perfect -- only a 5-7min walk to the old city. Would definitely stay here again!
great time great place to stay close to old town
it was the best of every thing nice helpful staff
Nice hotel....BUT
Room was very comfortable, enjoyed the fruit bowl on arrival. Good sized bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast inc was the worst I've ever had in a 4 star. Boring and very limited buffet. Try cutting the stale bread with the very blunt bread knife...a joke. Apart from that a nice hotel for the $$
Quiet & friendly
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. The room was modern & clean with a renovated bathroom. They left two beautiful robes on the bed & were very welcoming. The room was short a bed that we had request during the booking & promptly brought us one upon mentioning. We also had an included breakfast that we were going to be leaving before available & they happily packed us to-go breakfasts to take with us on our early morning adventures. The restaurant linked with the hotel had delicious food & a lively atomosphere & friendly wait staff. I would absolutely go back again if I need a place to stay in Jerusalem!!
no washer & dryer
This was a nice clean hotel to stay in, the only thing to note is that there is not a washer or dryer in the room or one available for use by guests. The front desk said we could send it to be washed, but the cost was way to high so I washed clothes in the shower. The breakfast was very good with a great selection. The hotel bar restaurant was fantastic & very affordable.
Great Location
Beautiful view from room and balcony. Staff wonderful. Great Food
Great Hotel, great locstion
Very comfortable hotel, with charming and helpful staff. Clean and well appointed rooms.
Good, but not extraordinary
Hotel service was generally good, the reception staff was friendly and helpful. On the downside, the room I had was small and the bathroom tiny. Otherwise, it was comfortable and clean. There was also some work going on several rooms down which did not disturb me so much but left a bit of a mess near the lift. The sports bar in the hotel was nice and the restaurant just next to the entrance served very good lamb and chicken dishes in a nice atmosphere.
The best overall hotel in Jerusalem!
Quality hotels are usually extremely expensive in Jerusalem. The hotel.com rate made this a steal. The rooms were large, a very good restaurant was in the hotel, a pleasant bar (although the music was loud for me ... I could have asked that it be lowered but for some reason a didn't ), a two minute or so walk from the Damascus Gate to the old city and a neighborhood you can feel very safe walking in 24/7. What more can I say
Good location with everything else going wrong
My verdict of the hotel is the breakfast was excellent in a good location but everything else is sub-standard and the service was unacceptable. I paid for an executive room with a balcony and a separate lounge but got a superior room with no balcony. The window in the bathroom and bath was filthy and had flies flying in the room and bedroom. The bathroom has a leak and it got flooded with water. The receptionist staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful.
Some sacrifices for great location
Legacy is located less than a 10-minute walk from the Damascus Gate into the Old City - for the price it is probably one of the best-value for its location. That said, rooms are pretty small, bathrooms are tiny, and the service is pretty nonexistent-that is, there are plenty of employees who will watch you drag your enormous suitcase up and down the staircase outside to the front door without even a thought at assisting. There's also not a lot of insulation so if you plan to sleep anytime between 8am and 10pm, be prepared for slamming doors and the staff yelling at each other down the hallways. The surrounding neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired, but as a solo female traveler I felt fine walking to and from Damascus gate - and check out the American Colony Hotel in the direction away from the Old City for a nice lunch or dinner in their courtyard. All in all it was fine for two nights in my attempt to be relatively cheap, but my next trip back to Jerusalem I'll look for a better option.
A visit in a bygone era
This hotel gave me the feeling of visiting in the fifties, or sixties. Although it had all the trappings of splendor, those were splendors of the fifties, or appeared to me that way at least. And I very much liked it. The staff was helpful and ready to every eventuality. The breakfast, included in the price, was simply fabulous, not to mention the view from the restaurant on the 5th floor. I even liked the fact hat the location is a somewhat seedy neighborhood, that also increased the feeling of old times present.
Excellent hotel in ideal location.
The hotel was within 5 minutes walk of the Old City. Room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good with great views over Jerusalem. Highly recommended.
Wonderful staff.
I never enjoy my stay in Israel because of tour problem with expedia. The staff in Legacy hotel were angels specially Rana, the receptionist. She helped me all throughout because Iam so dissapointed with EXPEDIA. She deserves a high raised. We came to Legacy Hotel about 07:30 to 08:30am in the morning but she still accomodate us and gave us a room to rest. She's a fantastic woman especially on those times that EXPEDIA ruin my holiday and she's still there to support us. THANK YOU LEGACY HOTEL because you were there to helped us.
Legacy
The hotel was what we expected and we found it reasonable for our stay
What a nice place!
Such lovely welcoming staff. Clean, simple and very comfortable room. The location of the Hotel is ideal for walking into the Old City and seeing the sights. i would highly recommend this hotel.
Overall comments of the stay
Staff was courteous and friendly BUT was not knowledgeable about Jerusalem. They discouraged us very much about the entry to the Dome of Rock and Aqsa mosque. However, we found our way out which shouhd have come fom them.
Good Location
We booked an executive double room but on arrival was given a different room without a balcony, we complained and they gave us a tiny room with a balcony, not very nice! Meant to have fruit bowl etc never got it. Front desk staff not very interested in our plight. Eventually spoke to hotel manager who apoligised and gave us a free meal in the restaurant , but it still left us feeling we had paid extra for our room and not been compensated fully. Would not stay there again.
Buena experiencia
Mi estadía fue muy placentera, un hotel a toda regla en lo que respecta limpieza, orden y atención. Incluso me guardaron un objeto que se me había quedado y me lo devolvieron.
Cerca del centro y de tours

We were given a room where the bathroom had flooded. After complaining were moved to a better room ; bathroom. Manager had an attitude. Not apologetic.
