There is nothing conceivably possible to say negative about this lovely hotel. The rooms are wonderful, the staff as accommodating as could be possible and the location perfect. Highly recommend
Beautiful property in room with excellent service. Would highly recommend.
Lovely stay near the Amboise castle. We enjoyed dining at the restaurant as well. The view of the river was magnificent and staff very nice. Our room was detached from the manor but it was convenient considering the amount of luggage we had.
Very comfortable room and spacious property very close to town
Perfect!!
Room with Ambience
Beautiful, stately manor. Reception staff most helpful. Great location in Amboise.
We had a room in the "annex"......really nice space
Nice quiet hotel in good location. Good value
This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is that they have some unusual rules that we have not experienced at any other property that I have travelled. For example, at 10:45pm we were told that we needed to leave the lobby (four adults enjoying a glass of wine (not loud at all but having a quiet conversation about our day and what we would be doing the following day) and were asked to move to our bedroom to finish the conversation in our bedroom which really only has space for two people, not four. Other than that, the people were nice, the breakfast was great, and the property is very beautiful.
Beautiful hotel
Great stay! Beautiful Hotel, very well kept. Staff was very friendly and provided great service
The property is a bit dated. Disappointing.
Convenient Location, Gorgeous Hotel
The property itself is clean and well-maintained. Our room was on the top floor with a small window that had a view of the Chateau which was magical. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was nice. You are right in town and close to plenty of restaurants and a grocery store. The staff was nice and helpful. Our stay was excellent and we would definitely re-book this hotel.
Property is stunning. Beware for those with mobility issues as rooms are up 1-2 flights of stairs with no elevator. Gilles was very attentive.
Everything . A fantastic hotel in a beautiful town very well situated short walk to restaurants. A jewel in the Loire valley . Outstanding
This hotel is beautiful and the staff super helpful
The hotel was nice. In a great location. The room was interesting. Bathroom was large. Nice large shower. Room was nice. Small window with castle view when you stood up. Nice personnel. Breakfast was good, for extra charge. Would return.
Beautiful getaway venue close to castles shopping snd dining.
Great place
Best place we stayed in France so far!
This was the most amazing hotel and our favorite place to stay in France so far! We loved our room with all of the amenities and the location is just perfect and walkable to everything and you can see the castle right there from the property. The staff is amazing and made reservations for us and were so attentive. I highly recommend the breakfast. The common areas are beautiful. I cannot recommend this hotel more!
A beautiful small boutique hotel with lovely appointments and attention to detail. Many med - to high end restaurants within walking distance. A great location to use as a base for Chateau visits. The town of Amboise is very nice, much smaller than Tours which was an advantage in our opinion. Nina’s restaurant recommendations and service were excellent !
Great stay overall but a bit insisting on confirming the breakfast for the next day (no need to call on personal mobile)
We had such a wonderful stay here. The manor was beautiful and immaculately maintained to a high standard. Staff was helpful and location in Amboise can't be beat. We are already planning on coming back for a longer stay.
As nice as this hotel was in a lot of ways I’m not really getting how it can be considered five stars. It honestly felt more like a three and a half star hotel. Staff were very attentive, but it lacks the facilities one would reasonably expect for five star prices.
Very lovely small hotel. Ground floor is all public with the two floors above with guest rooms. The ground floor has large, gracious rooms for sitting, conversation and breakfast dining. Ideal location for walking around Amboise. Very pleasant stay overall. The only negative I can think of was breakfast. They could really up their game on breakfast.
Gorgeous hotel and area. Staff are amazing! Beautiful setting! Views os the castle and Loire River out the window on the 3rd floor. Great restaurants to walk to. We will be back! Merci!
Superb hotel
Beautiful location and the property is very well done!
A very special place
It was as beautiful as I’d hoped. Within easy walking distance to town, super comfortable and clean. Absolutely perfect.
Front desk staff was so welcoming. This is a perfectly located property if you want to wander around Amboise.
Beautiful property and location. Good breakfast. Staff were outstanding. Definitely would come back. Highly recommended.
Simply the best
Fabulous hotel in a beautiful town. We have stayed here twice. Elegant, comfortable, well-located.
Absolutely beautiful and perfectly located with easy walking Into town. The staff is so pleasant and the food delicious! Will return again!!
The gentlemen of Le Manoir les Minimes were extremely professional, friendly, and wonderfully helpful during our stay. Amboise is a SUPER CUTE town with access to all les chatuex your heart desires (Amboise, Chambord & Chenonceau were my favs).
Ideal in all aspects
.
“Unto a manor born”! For two nights I felt like a lady of the manor which I had always read about. Beautiful grounds, clean, well appointed rooms and very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast in a lovely breakfast room. Within walking distance of everything in the city center. You must stay here when visiting Amboise!
The hotel is beautiful! Ee had everything we would expect : clean and spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows, soft towels. We had a few disappointment with the staff, starting with waiting 10 minutes at the reception before someone came for our check in. The first morning, someone from the staff entered our room at 8:30 am and left immediately. At the breakfast, the staff forgot to provide us with tea and coffee, we had to ask for it and no one apologized. Despite those small disappointments, I would totally recommend this hotel. The location is fantastic, and the hotel itself if very nice!
Beautiful hotel, staff was great, very walkable area. Only con was no elevator and I’m a heavy packer. 😬
We enjoyed our two night stay in the lovely Manoir les Minimes. Amboise is filled with interesting sites and restaurants, and Le Manoir les Minimes is perfectly situated for exploring. Paul was superb in assisting us to choose and a secure reservations for dinner, and he was warm and welcoming throughout our stay. We were there for a weekend in February and can only imagine how lovely it will be in the spring.
Close to downtown and all points of interest. Wifi was slow and had to reconnect every time. Besides this an excellent stay.
Great Stay!
Amazing place and very central to all the local attractions.
Room, grounds and staff were excellent. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
Very nice hotel. Clean and good location to town.
Close to everything! Great staff. Luxurious. On-site parking.
A great hotel. It was a very quick walk to the center of town/restaurants/shops. We had a gorgeous view of both the river and the castle from our window. Amboise is adorable and a nice change of pace compared to other larger towns in Loire Valley.
Property was clean and had a very elegant feel. Rooms were slightly dated in the rooms, but bathrooms were renovated and modern.
Perfect location but not the quality or facilities of a 4* hotel. The photos on the website do not portray the reality of its size. A number of petty rules undermine its potential.
Review
Stayed for my wife’s 40th had a great night. Service fantastic and loved the location. Would happily stay again.
Excellent
Excellent, will stay again
Fantastic stay at this lovely place
This was our favorite hotel in our driving trip in France! There was an unbearable heatwave during our trip. We arrived tired, and were greeted by a friendly gentleman who quickly showed us to our cool room. The a/c was already on, and we were happy and grateful. The room was beautiful, roomy, spotlessly clean. It had a mini fridge and large tv. The bathroom was great, with a wonderful shower. The location could not have been better, with easy parking. Once we parked, it was an easy walk to the restaurants, Châteaux (Amboise and du Clos Luce), and shops. I liked that were were close to everything, but removed enough to be away from the crowds. From here, it was an easy drive to Chenonceau and other Châteaux.
Great location. Pleasant room and overal facility. Staff was very friendly and heloful.
Superb hotel in great location near to town centre. Very welcoming and helpful staff who also booked us a table at a recommended local restaurant. Room was well provisioned with a very modern and well equipped bathroom. Breakfast was fine and again well provisioned. All in all a very comfortable stay in a hotel that we thoroughly recommend.
Amazing hotel with all the things you need. It is worth every stars and the price is extremely reasonable. Amazing staff and close proximity to food, sites, and winery.
Lovely hotel in Amboise.
Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff in Amboise.
Love the detail, and the attention..great place to stay.
Charming boutique hotel
Nice room but poor breakfast
Very hospitable staff, spotless well furnished comfortable accommodation.
A lovely and very traditional small “palace like feeling” hotel in the heart of Amboise. We were treated like kings by Paul who out did himself to take care of our every need, including dinner reservations at a very nice local bistro. Breakfast was perfect with a perfect view of the Amboise Chateau.
Good location for a short walk into the main town
Beautiful from the outside; great location. The gentleman at the front desk was more than odd. He wouldn't give any recommendations for restaurants. They had menus from several of them that you could peruse. He would only tell you if they were open or not. When we picked up the key the next day, he played "keep-away" with it asking my husband questions about our day and what we did -- very unprofessional. The breakfast was not worth it and we went in to town the next 2 days. Rooms were fine although storage was minimal.
We would stay there again!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay. It was a perfect little piece of French paradise.
Beautiful hotel, in every way. A fabulous setting with the perfect location. Would not stay any where else. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms.
Amboise pretty
Lovely setting, nice breakfast, right in town.
Missed having bar/gathering spot in the hotel. Otherwise room and location was very nice
Wonderful place to stay there but it does not have an elevator.
On the chateau’s doorstep
Lovely place to explore Amboise from. Great location, a short walk from the chateaux and center. Immaculate and nicely appointed. Very pleased.
It was great
Good position
A good hotel for one overnight stay, but more than that not so, because of the lack of a bar and dining room. Breakfast was excellent though, and drinks on the terrace lovely.
The main house is nicely appointed in the common areas. The breakfast was acceptable, although we preferred what was available a short walk towards the center of town, at half the cost. We stayed at the adjacent cottage, which was perfect for our needs. Very quiet, and the ground floor room was easy to lug luggage in and out of. The staff were very helpful. You can rely on their dinner recommendations. None of the four restaurants they recommend to us were less than outstanding.
Proximity to the chateau is great very helpful staff
The location was great. Front desk staff was almost condescending. I have stayed in excellent 5-star hotels with staff that treated you well and went above and beyond. Not the case here. Breakfast was ok. Waaay overpriced.
This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. It was charming, spotlessly clean, beautifully renovated & maintained, and centrally located. I would have liked to stay longer to enjoy this property and all that Amboise has to offer, but we had to move on. I guess I’ll just have to come back!
Great location. Guest house was not desirable at all.
Cool town and good location walking distance to restaurants and Amboise scene. Air conditioning was really nice to have. The swarm of gnats from the river was intense but at least they weren't biting insects.
A beautiful classic French gem
We stayed just the one night whilst passing through France. Our welcome was warm and friendly with a full explanation of the room and facilities ( along with profuse apologies for the low beams in the room) The bathroom was sparklingly clean and had everything you required. The bed was large and very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. The breakfast was plentiful with freshly baked pastries and orange juice. The service was impeccable and charming. The view from our window of the Chateau Royal was breathtaking (especially at night) Parking on site was ample and secure. We were even allowed to keep our car there (after check out) so we could take a tour of the town and the Chateau. All in all a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
Good location- next to the river, chateau and village centre. Classically decorated, but upper floors could do with an update. Good bathroom .Staff very good.
Amazing and magical place great staff and within walking distance to everything
Clean, comfortable hotel, nice views.
Excellent location, Immaculate cleanliness. Missing a restaurant.
Fantastic hotel in the centre of Amboise. We found the hotel on a previous visit when looking over the Chateau walls. The rooms are clean, simply (but tastefully) decorated, spacious and comfortable. Amboise centre is 200 m walk away. Certainly a place to relax and enjoy
We were very disappointed with this hotel, which was not worth the considerable money we paid. The first disappointment was being put into a dark garret room next to the laundry. We had no idea the hotel has apparently a two-class room system i.e. big and light, or the garret. Second, we were told, when bringing in some takeaway (from the delicious Le Pekin in town) that food was not allowed because its smell might impregnate the valuable tapestries! We certainly had no tapestries in the garret! Third, the following day a very haughty and unpleasant staff person informed us that FOOD had been discovered in our sink. UH OH! For a moment, given his tone, I expected a call to the authorities! On the plus side, the hotel is well situated near the center of Amboise and it does employ a very nice young fellow, named I believe Paul. Overall, though, we felt quite ill at ease as a result of being treated like bad kids in a Dickensian boarding school.
Ok place. Two buildings. Main lodge was booked so can not rate, but second building was more modern and less historic. Modern building had unusual setup. Great breakfast.
Beautiful charming romantic hotel!
Exceptional boutique hotel. Staff was lovely, the hotel was clean and full of charm. Right in the middle of town, but still feels like you are tucked away with their inner courtyard. One of my favorite hotels on my trip.
Relaxed, high class
We enjoyed our brief stay at Les Minimes, nothing could be improved!
Formidable!
Lovely hotel; well-positioned in lovely Amboise. Easy parking. Optional breakfast was not good value for money; otherwise, everything was fine.
Lovely hotel, convenient location in Amboise
This hotel is right next to the Chateau Amboise and just a few blocks from a vibrant area of cafes, restaurants and shops. We stayed in the cottage which is separate from the Inn. The cottage was lovely with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was large with a huge shower but no bathtub. The Inn offered breakfast and a bar and I believe maybe some snacks. It did not offer lunch or dinner. We did not eat breakfast there but wish we had our last morning because it proved difficult to find a patisserie or bistro open at 8:30 on a Monday morning (in October). This hotel is especially convenient if you have a car (which we did). It has plenty of easy parking without having to navigate narrow streets and alleys to get there.
Very pleasant overall
Very pleasesnt stay with great views of the Chateau, and lovely terrace. Charlotte at the front desk was so helpful and welcoming, the breakfast was lovely, the gentleman who served not so much. Our room was clean and there was a windw in both the bedroom and bath- a plus! Restaurants in town were too touristy so we ventured further. Our tour guide recommended an excellent elegant dining ecperience at the hotel next door (walking distance)
Lovely home base from which to explore the Loire Valley.
very nice
Can't go wrong with this hotel
Beautiful
We had a great view of the water. Room was excellent
Great stay!
Awesome stay, really helpful with local knowledge and restaurant bookings
Great location in Arles center!
Cannot say enough about our stay! The owners and staff were exceptionally friendly. The hotel was walkable to all of the Centre sites, shops and cafes. The room (12th century building) was beautiful and updated. Complimentary petit dejunier (breakfast), we enjoyed on the shaded patio (the only hotel in France we stayed at with this lovely feature). And complimentary parking too. The beautiful winding staircase could be challenging.
Great views! Second floor only!
We were put on the top floor--too many stairs for our bad backs in a cramped room with almost no windows. The hotel itself is chairman and has a sumptuous view of the castle and is pleasantly situated. Stay on the second floor!
Very small room but good location. Try to get room on a higher floor.
Great hotel with view of chateau
The hotel is down the street from the Amboise chateau; I can't imagine a better location and views. The hotel is beautifully decorated and offers a very elegant breakfast experience. Hotel staff were also very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a wonderful stay!
A dream!
A great escape from Paris for us! Sure wish we could have stayed longer!
Great experience
My wife and i had a pleasant experience st the hotel. Breakfast was very good.
Lovely stay and great location
Really nice place with convenient parking and great location just at the base of the underlying fortress of the Chateau. There is really nothing negative about this place except a weird rule about no food allowed in your room, period. Not really a problem if your plans include eating outside of the hotel, but it just seems overly stringent. We were doing long days of site-seeing, so we didn't use any of the common areas of the hotel like the bar area or outside tables but they seemed like lovely, well-appointed places to sit and relax if that's part of your plan. I did not do a ton of comparison shopping on this place so I can't say how much of a value it is, given that it's certainly not "cheap". It has the atmosphere and service of an upscale hotel so of course you wouldn't expect it to be cheap.
Lovely Chateau
We spent 4 nights here, and loved it. The room was large and well appointed. Very nice bathroom. The public rooms looked like walking into a museum. We had 2 large windows that opened. We could see the river from our windows. Gilles and Alexander were incredibly helpful. The room was spotless, and they had turn down service. Good restaurants were very close by, easy 5 minutes walking distance.
Brilliant
This is a fabulous hotel with a great staff located right at the base of the chateau One of my favorite hotels anywhere We where only supposed to stay for 2 nights but loved it so much we stayed 4 Great location to go chateau visiting

Great Hotel, Great Staff
It is a beautiful hotel and very close to town. The staff was great.
