The property was beautiful. The staff was very professional and took care of all our needs And the breakfast buffet was awesome. Will definitely book This location again when we return.

This was a lovely and amazing place to stay. Staff was EXCELLENT, and the most helpful of any place we have stayed on this trip. Sleep in a cave! The shower, in a small cave, had a steam shower function. All with the easiest of access to Matera. The cave we stayed in was at the base of the oldest church in Matera. Stunning city!

This hotel was everything we had hoped for - beautiful, luxurious, authentic. The staff were very helpful upon check-in with advice and assistance with car parking. We took their advice and parked outside Matera and was brought in via a shuttle bus - we would recommend this. The location of the hotel is superb, right by St Peter’s Square. The breakfast was high quality with plenty of choice. The only downside was upon check-out. We hadn’t been made aware that it was 10.30am - we should have checked but didn’t. The lady receptionist was not happy, which we of course understood but it was a shame that we left feeling a little awkward.

Wonderful

Delightful hotel in the middle of historic Matera. Quirky, comfortable, clean with wonderful staff, particularly Vito. He organised parking for us and had lots of great suggestions for dinner. His colleague, who did our check in, give us a fantastic overview to the town with lots of information.

The owner was fantastic! Our room was lots of fun! Sleeping in a cave. We enjoyed the whole area of Matera

Right in the center of everything! Our room was an actual cave! AC was excellent as was the shower. Vito at Reception went above and beyond all our needs and wishes. He even fed us the delicious breakfast an hour early on our last morning because we had a long drive.

One of the most amazing we’ve ever stayed at! Perfectly located with great views!

Matera

Room was comfortable, other than the bed being very low, almost as if it was a mattress on the floor. Very friendly and helpful staff - allowed us to check in very early and they gave us a Togo breakfast because we needed to depart before they served their standard breakfast

Amazing Location & Experience for Visiting Matera

We had a great stay here while visiting Matera! The hotel is literally located in the hill directly underneath the Church of Saint Mary of Idris. Our room was part of a traditional Matera “cave home” and had a very comfortable bed, great air conditioning, and a really nice steam shower! The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and the included breakfast was delicious…make sure to have one of the croissants! If you’re going to Matera and want to be in the heart of the old city and want a unique room experience, definitely stay here!

Our stay at the hotel was fabulous, we loved everything about the hotel, the location, the breakfast, the attention to detail, the sauna in the room, the view at night and day from our room… everything was perfect. We spent 2 nights and loved it.

Excellent location, very friendly, helpful staff

We loved our stay at Le Dimore dell'Idris. The location is excellent for exploring the city. The staff were extremely helpful and easy to make contact with. They helped us organise parking with a shuttle bus to the hotel. The staff were friendly and gave us suggestions of places to visit and eat. The breakfast was really good. The room was spotless.

We LOVED Matera, but the hotel might have been the best part. It's centrally located with the most wonderful view. Th e room is an experience in itself.

Regarding parking. It is forbidden to enter the place by car, and not everyone knows they will receive a fine, and parking in the parking lot and for a fee, including all night,

The location is perfect

It locates right under the oldest rock church so it at a prime location and super easy to access. However, the room is much smaller than expected and the water was dripping at the toilet all night during my stay and it’s quite annoying.

Beautiful stay in Matera

Lovely hotel with well designed modern rooms constructed inside the white stone caves of Matera. Friendly and helpful young staff and a wonderful location near the cliffs in a quiet part of the sassi.

Great hotel for visiting the Sassi

This is the place to stay if you are visiting Matera. The staff are very friendly. You will need to park in the town about 300m away, although you can drop you luggage close to the hotel. As you'll be staying in the Sassi be prepared for lots of walking up and down the alleyways.

Loved every minute of our stay

We loved every minute of our stay! First the location: spectacular. Next the Hotel and our Room: Even Better ! The staff is super friendly and gave great advice on touring and places to eat. The view of the Sassi from our room was spectacular. The room had every modern convenience and was designed beautifully. We loved all of it and hope to visit again soon.

This is THE place to be in Matera

What a surreal experience to sleep in an abode that was practically a cave, updated with the latest tech and comfort. Owners are great people, very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable experience. In the best part of Sassi, the best view of the place was just 10 steps out of my door.

Location and kind staff.

The location is in the "Sassi" historical part. The room we had was with a loft where the bed was located. It was rather hot and the AC was not sufficient to cool us while we slept. The bathroom however is done really well . The shower is big and modern with a rainfall shower head. The furniture is "eco" friendly... but much of it is cardboard. The service was super helpful, from arrival to departure. They have a car parking service (for a fee). I didn't have breakfast (I was very ill with stomach bug) but they were very kind and served me tea outside on the terrace. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!

Espetacular!

A localização é perfeita se você quiser ficar dentro da cidade antiga. Todas as atrações estavam muito perto, assim como restaurantes, bares, gelaterias… O quarto é incrível. Dentro de uma caverna. Decoração impecável, espaçoso e muito confortável!!! Perfeito!! Super recomendo!!!

Très belle situation, et avec une magnifique vue sur la cité. Très calme et un très bon accueil. Je vous conseille de réserver via l'hôtel une place de parking à l'extérieur de la ville. Vous poser votre voiture et une navette vous amène à l'hôtel.

Servizi eccellenti e colazione di livello. Gentilissima la reception sempre disponibile per qualsiasi richiesta o prenotazione per la cena presso ristoranti in zona. Location da sogno super consigliata

Nel centro dei sassi, comoda da raggiungere dai parcheggi con una breve camminata. Personale eccezionale, abbiamo ricevuto i giusti consigli sia prima che durante il soggiorno.

Un posto da sogno

Posizione spettacolare, un posto da sogno. E' davvero suggestivo aprire la porta d'ingresso e trovarsi di fronte l'intera Matera. Gli interni sono come da foto, ovvero spettacolari.

Excelente trato, el lugar muy bien ubicado, excelente desayuno y el trato muy bueno. El servicio era excelente y quedamos muy contentos.

Che dire...tutto perfetto...bisogna provarlo. Posizione incredibile ed anche comodissima per parcheggiare auto. Struttura bellissima, noi abbiamo soggiornato nell’alloggio su due livelli ed era favoloso. Colazione veramente di qualità. Personale gentilissimo!!!!

サッシの中のホテルは階段が難点ですが、このホテルは車でアクセス可能(部屋までは階段がありますが）。岩窟教会の近くで、観光にも便利。洞窟を利用したロビーや部屋はとてもお洒落な雰囲気。朝食も素晴らしい！！

Pluspunkte: ideale Lage, wunderbarer Blick auf die Stadt, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Minus: die Schallisolation zum Nachbarraum könnte besser sein.

Stayed here one night and the room was very nice. The staff was super supportive and offered us drinks for free as soon as we got there. They had an very nice and fresh breakfast.

Accueil chaleureux et serviable. Location parfaite, idéale pour parcourir Matera. Service de parcage de véhicule (15 euros) très pratique. Chambre simple mais charmante, et agréable, avec vue sur la ville. Chouette hôtel que je recommande volontiers.
