3-star
Not worth 4-star. There was construction in the room next door throughout the day. Sheets are dingy and bathroom not very clean. Staff are nice and friendly. Cheaper if you book directly.
Not a heritage property, its a train bogie.
Firstly its not a heritage property. The walls are so wafer thin that, u feel like ur in a railway boogie. The staff has no sense of hospitality. They keep chit chatting loudly and for hours in the wee hours of the night and early morning. The beds are so noisy that even while lying down and rolling on to other side the bed makes such loud creaking noise, enough to disturb the whole room every now and then. Hotels.com please delist this prroperty from your listing.
good room, service needs improvement
The room was very good and they provided a space heater for chilly January. Their food for the buffet was not good and not included. So that requires us to sort out our own breakfast in the morning cause the food is not good to pay for Also ordered chai and tea room service and they can’t keep orders straight and they get confused. Considering they had many non- Hindi speaking guests, you’d think the they’d work more to accommodate those persons as well Also not nearby to anything walking distance. Not even street chai which I’d take over the one they serve from their kitchen
t place to stay
Food was excellent. Special thanks to Narendra waiter for excellent service and lovely personality. Will definitely return to this hotel if staying in Jaipur in the future. Well done everyone from front desk to housekeeping
Decent looking hotel. Staff was nice. No way to get heat. 40 degrees at night
Location is very central, walking distant to metro and bus station in a quiet area. Hotel combined with old wing and new wing. The room I have has a tiny window to a closed space so it’s a very dark room. The lock in the old wing has lock outside that can lock someone in the room from outside, which makes me very uncomfortable if there’s a fire and someone lock the door from outside will have no way to escape. Not sure how they passed the fire inspection. The room also has marble floor and AC, probably great for summer but it’s very cold in winter time even it’s hot outside the hotel is freezing cold, I had to ask for a portable heater in the room. Staffs are very friendly. Decent buffet at the restaurant.
Unable to cancel
unfortunately hotels.com told us the wrong cancellation time. Hotel wouldn’t refund the money despite being able to sell out the hotel 3 days out. Also wouldn’t move money to another night.
I stayed here for two nights while in Jaipur. The hotel gave me a free upgrade on my room when I arrived as well which was a very nice touch and much appreciated after a long two days of traveling. The hotel also arranged for a last minute tour for me of Jaipur as well which turned out to be great (Ask for Abdul). The room was very clean and spacious and I also ate in the restaurant which was also quite nice actually
Great stay and very helpful staff. We had a comfortable and enjoyable time. The pool was beautiful and a nice treat.
Great stay!
Clean and nicely decorated. Very spacious, more like an apartment style room. Location was great, away from the hectic centre but only a short Uber/tuk tuk drive away. Would definitely stay again.
The hot water only runs 10 minutes, and you may need to wait for 10 minutes for another run. The food at the restaurant is not good, both breakfast and room orders. The manager and the front staffs are friendly at communicating in English, but not the restaurant. The restaurant is not clean enough on tables and hardly speak English.
Very nice and clean hotel. The staff is very friendly and quick to assist. The heritage style is beautiful and the terrace is a nice place to relax after a day of touring the city.
Room was spacious and airy. However could have been cleaner. Had to give once over clean ourselves when we arrived. Wi-if signal not good. Front of house staff could be better trained and organisedwith info on excursions. However we warmed to hotel and had good experience here. Food was good in restaurant.
Hotel Laxmi - Jaipur
Food was fine and the kitchen service was good. When there was a problem with WiFi, it was quickly fixed up which was much appreciated. Beds were VERY hard which made them uncomfortable. Sometimes the area where the hotel was located was noisy as the bus station is nearby with constant loud speaker announcements and bus horns. The air pollution is very bad in the area. We walked into the old city from the hotel which is quite do-able but the filth along the way is totally unacceptable and should be rejected and commented on by as many tourists as possible to exert pressure to clean it up.
Laxmi palace is at best location near Sindhi bus stand and gives excellent service
For the money we paid, hotel is Ok. But difficult to find the location, not on the main road. There is no elevator to go on 3rd floor. This is just a simple hotel.
jaipur visit
Staff behaviour and condition of rooms was good
Beautiful Hotel
The Laxmi Palace is a very nice, new hotel just outside of the central bus station in Jaipur. The condition is very good (it is only 3 years old), the hand-painted artwork on the ceilings throughout the hotel is stunning, and all of the staff were great (Raj manages the dining area and was exceptionally supportive during our visit). I would highly recommend this hotel... but with 2 minor considerations. The first is that it is located very close to the central bus station. Although the hotel itself is quite and on a nice street ~2 streets away, the nearest area for food/shopping is pretty chaotic and not the nicest place to visit. This did not bother me, but might others. The second was that the bed was very thin and not very comfortable. Spending 2 weeks in hotels in India during this trip, the bed was probably the least comfortable of any of them. Perhaps this will be upgraded when they finish the second building of the hotel, which should include larger dining facilities and a pool, later next year.
Good budget hotel.
Nice good budget hotel, just the sink tap was not mounted properly in the bathroom.
Reasonably clean
The hotel was okay, reasonably clean and the staff, friendly and helpful. The only point I would make is that if you can, avoid eating at the restaurant. It is far too expensive and the quality of the food, quite mediocre. There are no decent restaurants around the hotel also. The car rental service the hotel arranged for us overcharged us -- but that is how business is conducted in India, with everyone getting a piece of the pie. Overall it was a decent hotel to spend a night or two before touring various historical destinations.
200 meters from the bus stand.
comfortable place to stay. The deluxe rooms are small, it is better to go for the suite which has an attached balcony. very cosy and made for company.
Fairly central hotel near to bus and train station
Regular banging of water pump kept me awake. Moved room and it was just as bad and not as clean. Should be possible to find a better place. Tried to alter booking within the terms on my booking but hotel would not refund. Shall not use Expedia as booking agent again.
Probably better than most hotels at the same rate
the building has a sense of history to it as due the beds. The maxim is you get what you pay for but with Laxmi in this I you may get bit more.I recommend,it. As always in india, do not stay in a room overlooking the street; unless noise is your thing..Bruce
a home away from home.
It is a cosy place away from the hustle-bustle of a busy tourist place and yet close enough to be near important landmarks.
Nice hotel at walking distance to bus stand
Good experience, courteous reception, good food, clean, value for money place to stay.
just about ok budget hotel
nothing great about property, location. staff - whatever few - were friendly and helpful.
OK as a budget hotel. Good friendly staff. Hotel food is limited and expensive. No good restaurants close by.
Good value for your money
My stay at this hotel was pleasant , i booked family suite was big enough for 4 people , facility was nice and clean. Breakfast was complimentary and food quality was good. Staff was good and helping in nature. As i was new to Jaipur it took me 30 mins to locate this hotel. They need to put some sign boards - or a map explaining reach hotel from major highway. Over all good value for your money.
Old Style
Laxmi Palace is a small traditional type hotel located in a quiet street behind the main bus station bit no noise from it, I'm guessing the sort of place used by Indian travelling sales people and tourists like ourselves who are looking to avoid the big international chains but somewhere clean & safe. This hotel met both these criteria. It's a bit old and tattered round the edges but this is all part of the charm! The staff couldn't have been more helpful from arranging the auto rickshaw (ask for Abdul he was superb good English knowledgeable with a real love & pride in Jaipur) to changing money ( at a good rate with no commission for £ notes) We only ate b'fast which was more than adequate, as Abdul took us to a couple of local eateries that could not be faulted for food service or price (£2-£5 a couple) Comfy 4-poster bed ensuite, flat screen TV & free unlimited wifi. All in all what it says on the tin!
good value for money
the property needs some maintenance touches , like the plumbing fixtutres needs to be fixed properly as some taps etc were shaky , though the bath tub seemed to be newly fixed , the inside of the bath tub still had the marks left behind by the plumbers . would suggest a little more professionalism to be given overall, in terms of room service, restaurant etc
Good service, Nice People.
It was overall a good experience, I think you all need to work on the breakfast include some more fruits in the breakfast.
Poor
Pathetic over all experience. Hotel is located a very inconvenient location. No car parking available. Water problem and food is also not good. They claim Tandoori Naan in menu but don’t have Tandoor in the Hotel and staff also doesn’t listen to you. I wonder how come Laxmi Palace is one of the partner with Expedia.
Great experience!
My friend and i went on a trip to jaipur and had booked Maharani Palace hotel. Day one, and we were sure that we dont want to spoil our trip by staying there another night. Which is when we googled and found this hotel. It was in our budget and had rooms available, so we booked this hotel and moved into it the next morning. It was a contrasting and welcoming experience. The room was huge, it was super clean, had amazingly comfortable bed, bathroom was spacious and to top is all it had a tub! WOW...this was the kind of stay that i always wanted. The staff was very courteous and the food was awesome with very little spices and very little oil, JUST THE WAY i wanted it to be! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Jaipur for a short stay and doesnt really want to shell a bomb for doing so.
24-26 March,2013
Car parking was claimed but not available.I had to park on the road. Ground water used was often mixed with soil. Taxi booked from hotel was expensive. Breakfast was good.Food is good.
Time at the Laxmi Hotel, Jaipur
When we checked in we were given room 101 on the ground floor, it was horrible and we were very disappointed. The bathroon toilet was broken, and the room heater did not work, so it was extremely cold in the room. The second day they changed our room to 204 on the second floor, this room was excellent, and our view of the hotel changed drastically. Given the new room, I would rate the hotel at level 5 and we were very pleased. The hotel staff were very good and attentive to our needs. The food was very good, we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel. The hotel overview outlines a free shuttle service, this was not so. We used cabs, motor rickshaws, and pedal rickshaw, the prices were Ok and they were efficient. My recommendation is not to put guests in the ground floor rooms, but only in the upper rooms. The downtown areas are walking distance from the hotel, that is a big plus.
Very good location
1. I stayed for 2 nights the location is very gd and calm. 2.Despite being at the heart of the city, it is very cool, peaceful. 3. the puppet show organised everyday was very entertaining. 4. staff was very cordial and helpful. 5 one con was the food quality, so i prefered to eat outside.
An enjoyable few nights in Jaipur
Room was quite spacious and clean. Staff were helpful, polite, and generally on top of things. Location is quite good; not too loud but close to transport. Pick-up from the train station was useful. Overall a nice place to stay.
very poor surrounding area, only good service was the waiter in the restaurant.
We enjoyed very much
Laxmi Place the name of GOD Laxmi. I have wonderful experience and the following comments are given to this Hotel: 1. Hospitality is very good. 2. Food is very good. 3. Services is very good. 4. They all are very co-operative.
Laxmi palace jaipur
Laxmi palace hotel is an excellent place to stay with nice ,well behaved staff . Food quality is Good .
Excellent location and clean rooms!!
It is very clean hotel to stay and location is very good as train station and bus station is nearby. Located in quite area and staff is extremely helpful. I will recommend this to all travellers visiting Jaipur..
so bad
I am not going to recommend this hotel. NEVER.
Good place to go
Nice and clean place to stay, the hotel it's in a convenient location. Very helpfulness personal.
review
The hotel is freshly whitewashed and clean. But linen in room is old, doesnot smell fresh, mgmt needs to change their washing powder. Linen is also too thin, mattress is visible from under bedsheet. No coffee maker in room, room service charges 10% extra, no quilt in room, AC smells. Food is very costly, cheapest thali is 270 Rs. No alternatives for food available nearby, management needs to introduce simple meal combos, see Cafe in Red Fox hotel for inspiration. Staff is very few in number, illiterate and untrained rural folk. Hotel trying to give as little as possible and charge as much as possible. Poor value for money.
Excellent Hotel at affordable price and best locat
The hotel is centrally located and easily approachable from bus/rly station and even from MI Road. Rooms are excellent food is good and staff is friendly. Highly recommended.
Helpful staff
The staff and manager were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the bathroom in our first room smelt but the manager did move us on the second night to a suite which was very nice.
Very good value for money.
We found your hotel very comfortable and clean with good and friendly service and also a very efficient WiFi. The location is very convenient as well as being quiet.
Very unpleasant stay--
The beds are as hard as rocks and not very comfortable. Our room's plumbing didn't work and the hotel did not help us to fix it. The man came in, took a look at it, and then did nothing. They did not really seem to care at all. Food in the hotel made me sick. Again, the hotel staff showed little concern except when they thought they could get some money or tips from me. Overall, a very unpleasant stay.
Best hotel experience in India
When you're traveling in India on a budget, you don't necessarily expect your hotels to meet Western standards of cleanliness and comfort. Laxmi Palace, however, exceeded all of my expectations and was by the best hotel I stayed at in India! The building was beautiful, well maintained, and extremely clean. The rooms were large, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and actually had running hot water!!! (It was my first and last *real* shower in India) The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and genuinely eager to please. I have only good things to say about Laxmi Palace!

Better dining options are available in Jaipur but cost wise dining comparable with other restaurants. We received room according to our booking and check in check out was easy. They provided facilities to store our luggage after check out as our flights were late and we needed to do some shopping before taking flight.
