In a good atea to explore Hanoi

Loved the traditional style of the building; Tall and narrow. Staff were excellent with good English which was helpful as my Vietnamese is terrible. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Breakfast was very good. Lots of good shopping, restaurants and other tourist attractions in the vicinity.

The people and staff really go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. The front desk spoke great English.

Where is the window??

Small room and uncomfort at all. No window!! Therfore no air circulation in the room. Bad! Mattresses not comfort, very used and old. Nice and welcoming stuff. Breakfast was o.k not more than that.

Great hotel for price. Rooms are as pictured and comfortable, breakfast is good, and staff are super friendly and helpful.

I stayed at Lavender Central Hotel in the Old Quarter and had an incredible experience. The location is perfect—right near the bars, and the main street food spots, making it easy to explore the local cuisine & the nightlife in Hanoi. The breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of delicious options. They have a delicious coffee. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Despite being in the lively Old Quarter, the hotel has a calm and welcoming atmosphere, never feeling overwhelming. Overall, I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.

This hotel was very wonderful to be in and with its location in the midst of the Old Quarter was a win win for me. Their staff was very wonderful and very helpful. they helped us out with day time activities and any other questions we had. The rooms was very clean as well, a bit small for my taste but it had a very comfy feel so It made me feel relaxed. I would definitely love to come back here again.

Excellent location and staff were really friendly.

Great property that is near many great dining options and nightlife. I had an easy time checking in. The room was nice, clean, and perfect size. There was a small desk area where I could do work and also a separate sitting area too! The TV has basic cable with no options for Netflix but who needs that when the vibrant city was right at your doorsteps! Can't wait to come back!

Five stars, affordable,clean, nice staff, and in the middle of everything in old quarter. If I have one feedback, the hotel can replace their doors with sound proof ones because sound can be heard in the hallway. This makes it difficult to watch TV or do intimate stuff. Lol.

5 days stay In the hotel and at floor 7XXX. I booked my ha long bay and ninh Binh through the hotel, All the staff are friendly and breakfast are good enough. The location was fantastic, walking distance. The down side are room slightly smaller than expected and also abit of run down … overall where thing was just right

For a solo backpacker wanting a safe and clean place to rest up post-international flight, hotel was great. Clean, reasonably priced, good breakfast. Room was a bit old but clean and good amenities. Great location in the Old Quarter, great place to launch into Hanoi.

A fine property, with good breakfast and eager to please staff. Conveniently situated in the midst the chaotic frenzy of Hanoi's challenging motorbike and car traffic. The only thing lacking was an English-language television news channel, an amenity found in other hotels even in smaller cities, like Hoi An and Hue. One likes to know what's going on outside Hanoi, too.

Lovely Hanoi Hotel

We were very pleased with our stay here. The hotel is right in the middle of the action in Hanoi, yet we did not experience any noisy disruptions at night. The staff at this hotel were extremely kind and helpful with providing recommendations, maps, and helping with transportation. Breakfast was delicious and very much appreciated. I also treated myself to a massage at the hotel and was quite pleased! Would stay again!

Perfect location in old Quarter . Staffs are professional and friendly. Airport transfer taxi service is very helpful for the early airflight.

Nice base to explore Hanoi from

Nice cosy hotel located in the old quarter. Room was a little on the small side but the helpfulness of the staff and the breakfast were both first class. They even went above and beyond to help us retrieve a bag that was left after a tour. Great service.

If I could give more gold stars rating Lavender Hotel I would! From the second I stepped out of my taxi in front of the hotel, I was made to feel like royalty. A doorman brought my luggage into the lobby, I was checked in quickly and my luggage was taken to my room. I was offered hot tea too. It was very quiet. The bed, pillows was and cotton sheets were perfect. This hotel was probably built in the 1920’s or 1930’s. The lift , electrical, plumbing and bathroom have all been updated without losing the historical charm of the building. The bathroom was beautiful! Breakfast was incredibly delicious; with many choices on the buffet as well other items cooked to order. It’s located in the middle of the Old Quarter. If you’re looking for modern then it would be best to choose another part of the city. Every hotel and building in the Old Quarter is historic. It’s wonderful!

Staff are wonderful at this property. Rxtremely helpful. Rooms on small size. No street noise given road proximity. However lots of internal noise from other room guests and restaurant area. Location great.

We loved the staff at the property. The went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great! The location is right in the heart of Old Town and easy walking distance to many amenities and sites. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this property if you want to experience Old Town Hanoi!

Near beer street. I f you can handdle the very busy area,you will be o.k. Everything is near by the hotel but before check in, make sure your room has windows or not.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff

This is my second stay at Lavender Central. Each time my experience was excellent! The staff is great. It's centrally located near a lot of action, restaurants, bars and shops. I, once again, highly recommend this hotel.

A good hotel for the $$$ bad water pressure and internet

Good location. Excellent service. Breakfast was good. Room was a bit tight, but it was functional. The “city view” was not much of a view. More of a view of the air conditioner. They moved us for the extra night coming back from Ha Long Bay to their sister property. Their sister hotel, the Rex Hanoi, was much better with regards to room and facilities. The Lavender is okay if you’re only staying a couple of nights and don’t mind the minimalist facilities. Otherwise I’d choose the Rex Hanoi.

Staff and service was excellent. Breakfast was was typical, but the service was excellent. The only issue was that the room required a deep cleaning. The room itself was tidy and clean upon first entering, but under closer inspection, the room was in need of a deep cleaning. The bed, floor, and bathroom were clean enough. I would not choose to stay at this hotel again. On our return from Ha Long Bay, we were moved to their sister hotel due to “issues” with the air conditioner in our room. We were moved to the Rex Hanoi Hotel. The hotel had more amenities and the room appeared to be in a better state. I would stay at this property again.

This little gem of a hotel is very close to all the action. Dozens of restaurants, clubs and bars, foot massages and small stores. The staff is superb! The property, though a bit dated, is spotless clean and safe. I highly recommend Lavender Central.

The bed in our room was so amazing! King sized and had good quality mattress and sheets. The only problem I had was the room was a bit small. Otherwise, I have no issues with our stay.

Great location, comfy beds, nice staff, would stay here again

The hotel is a short walk away from Ta Hien Street and Hoàn Kiếm Lake so it was great when you wanted to have a night out. The room itself was fine but I never got housekeeping for the 4 days I was there and the room had a certain musky smell that never seemed to go away. The staff was friendly and helpful when I had questions.

A pleasant property. WiFi service needs to be attended to. Difficult to judge as the property was on the cusp of closing down due to the downturn associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Upset Travellers

We were unable to travel to Hanoi, we phoned Hotels.com who contacted the hotel to cancel our booking. The Oriental said they would get back to Hotels.com as they had to check with their Manager. We have heard nothing from Hotels.com. We also emailed the hotel explaining our situation & requested a reply. We did not get a reply to our email. Very disappointed with the Oriental.

Staff was unbelievably friendly. Breakfast was great every morning and they provided plenty of filtered drinking water for us.

Great little hotel in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter...

The nicest stay we’ve had

This was one Of the nicest stay suites had traveling south east Asia. From start to finish the service and the friendliness of the staff was incredible. They always greeted you with a smile, offered to help with anything you might need and we’re always busy cleaning and making the hotel shine. The room and surrounding areas In the hotel were spotless. They serve a wide variety of things to eat at breakfast. I don’t think you could get a much better value for the money then this hotel. It was in a great location in old town But did not have the traffic noise from the street below. I most definitely would recommend this place to anyone traveling to old town Hanoi

Good hotel within walking distance to everything in the Old Quarter. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. Very helpful staff. Comfortable room but blinds over the window would not fully close and the safe was not functioning. Great breakfast. A pleasant stay.

Excellent location in the Old Quarter. The staff helped with everything from arranging airport transfers and visas to just generally being very helpful. Breakfast was included and was delicious! Comfy beds. Would stay again.

Fantastic location, staff was soooooo friendly, great breakfasts. Location is very close to all kinds of food including American food. Lots of shops nearby and 10 minute walk to hoan kiem lake. I’ll go back next year.

the location allows exploring the old part of Hanoi so easy on foot. the staff are just lovely and genuinely welcoming. the room is kept in good and clean condition, I can see they try very nicely to add some nice touch to a small but sufficient space. the breakfast is by far the most impressive part of my stay. Kudos to the chef. though the buffet line is rather compact, but the quality, the diversity of selection and the taste is really good. ( I am a very picky Thai when it comes to food) all in all, a great value for money. I am not at all hesitating to rebook this hotel again. Thank You :)

Not every room has a widnow. Make sure when reserving. Beside this, everything is Perfect.

Excellent Service At The Oriental Central Hotel

The service at the Oriental Central Hotel was just excellent. We had a very late arriving flight, and the staff were so kind to get us into our room as soon as possible to rest. The excellent service extended to the breakfast served in the dining room. And the selection of food offered was all delicious. The location in the Old Quarter was perfect for exploring Hanoi and if you wanted to explore outside the Old Quarter the staff at the hotel is so helpful in making arrangements.

All staff went above and beyond in helping guests in every way possible. They could never do enough for you. Simply amazing!

Staffs were so friendly and helpful. Everything was sparkling clean and well maintained. I recommend to explore small streets behind the hotel. Hang bac street is full with Jewelry shops and silver products are inexpensive. Breakfast here was awesome. Everything was so fresh and well served too. We were treated so well here and definitely recommend this hotel highly. We appreciate all service and cares of all hotel staffs. Only one thing was smoking smell came through the fan in the bathroom. Hotel itself has many smoke-free signs though.

I thought the staff and service was excellent. Lucy Le on the Tour Desk was very very helpful. Organised lots of trips for me and even helped me book an overnight train and also a flight. Jonathan on hotel reception was also very helpful. The breakfast was lovely. The hotel is in the Old Quarter which was great and not difficult to get to other places I wanted to see. If I go back to Hanoi I would definitely stay here.

The hospitality and superb services provided by all staff members at Oriental Central Hotel far exceeded my expectations and played a huge role in my pleasant stay in Hanoi. Check-in process went extremely smoothly beginning with a warm greeting from the front-desk. While we waited for our rooms to be available, we were invited to sit down and relax in their dining room. Maps / directions / guidance were voluntarily provided ensuring we had all our questions answered. Staff even offered to help us purchase the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre show tickets so we didn't have to queue up on our own. We were able to store our luggage at the hotel while we went on a 2D/1N Halong Bay cruise. Not to mention the staff also allowed us to store my birthday cake in their fridge! The hotel is situated in a very convenient location in Old Quarter Hanoi. I would highly recommended travelers to consider Oriental Central Hotel if value, superb services, convenient location and having an overall pleasant experience are priorities to them.

Although the rooms are small they are clean and the beds very comfortable and the breakfast is very good indeed. What really stands out is the quality of the staff who are so friedly and helpful.in every way. Lucy organised our trips superblyand others were very helpful with local knowledge. Great little hotel in a great location only minutes walk from lots of attractions and markets. We had a room with no window which was great as it can be very noisy outside. Comfortable bed and a good shower. But most of all the all staff are so friendly hana the manager did so much for us booking activities and giving great advice for our stay. Would definitely stay here again when we return.

Staff at the hotel including the front desk are very professional and polite!

Front desk staff was friendly and brought out drinks and fruit. We were on the eight floor, but the small ( about 5 people) and slow elevator only went to the seventh floor, which was a little inconvenient. The room was clean and comfortable, as well as the bathroom.

It is the second time I have stayed at the Oriental Central and it did not disappoint. Thomas and his team provide the friendliest and best service and were always very accommodating. We booked another hotel for the second half of our holiday and wish we had stayed here instead. Have already booked a room here for the F1 weekend.
