Loved staying here! The manager was super nice and greeted us with a warm welcome. Everyone at this boutique hotel was well trained and hospitable. The view from our room was incredible and I can't wait to come back to visit this hotel as well as the Cloud Forest again!

Beautiful hotel and grounds with wonderful views off our back deck. The 2 person jetted tube was just what was needed after a day long hiking treks. Friendly and professional staff and we enjoyed a very good dinner on site and the included breakfast had several options and you can choose all you wish to eat.

Beautiful property in a quiet, rural, private area of rainforest,

This is a hidden gem. With easy access to all the activities in Mindo, this little resort has it all. When you arrive you are warmly greeted and the staff is eager to help make your stay memorable. The rooms are luxurious and the offer incredible views of the cloud forest. The food is incredible, the pool is gorgeous, and the surrounding environment is breathtaking. I can't wait to go back.

Staff are terrific; Marco was so friendly and accommodating and kind. Pool was lovely (that's one of the reasons we chose this hotel). Dinner food was just ok -- and overpriced for Ecuador. Private terrace off the room was serene. Just be sure to bring mosquito/bug repellent; you'll need it. Cost of hotel is really high for Ecuador and as a result, all the guests we met seemed to be American. One small complaint: The cleaning solution used is really strong and chemical-smelling (but the room and grounds are immaculate!); And I can't say enough good about the staff.

This was such a lovely place stay! I usually don’t leave reviews, but everything here was wonderful from the incredibly helpful and friendly staff, to the meals, to the rooms/property. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying in Mindo!

Great place to stay in Mindo

This is a very special place. The staff is lovely and really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Mindo is beautiful. From Las Terrazas we were able to walk to the waterfall chairlift, the butterfly house, the tubing operation, the ziplines, etc… It is the perfect combination of remote and convenient. The restaurant is fantastic, the prices are great. I really can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Truly an experience of a lifetime

This place is amazing, the bungalow was very clean and spacious with a lovely terrace overlooking the mountains with humming birds and toucans in the garden and the sound of the river below. This is the great for nature, bird watching and enjoying delicious local fine dining. We stayed longer than expected as it was such a lovely experience. David and Anna and their staff are fantastic hosts, they can not do enough for you to make the whole experience a welcome memory that will last a lifetime. Tours are available from this accommodation so no need to book any in advance, it’s a short stroll from the town but far enough away for that total natural experience. If you are in Ecuador visit Mindo and see for yourselves.

Wonderful place

Place is beautifully located in the rainforest 5 minutes out of town...nice large room with great bathroom...only issue bugs and mosquitos...ownets great folk excellent food

Charming boutique hotel with great personalized service. Cabins are roomy and very clean with a lovely deck.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Dana over the past few days. The bungalows are spacious, immaculately clean. And so well-designed. The view from our mountain facing bungalow was breathtaking. David is an absolute prince and his staff truly the best. My partner coordinated a romantic few days for my birthday and not only did they hell by decorating the room in flower petals and delicious chocolates, they went as far as preparing a cake for us. Speaking of food- the culinary experience is 10/10. My favorite part would have had to be having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Andes mountains. I can’t say enough about this place!

Lovely stay in Mindo

Lovely room and hosts were excellent. Breakfast in the room balcony was very nice as well!

Ana, David and their whole staff were welcoming and provided excellent service. The views and property are gorgeous. The sounds of the forest were so relaxing. We must return one day.

The Chalet it self was great as mentioned on the Expedia site. The staff are very accommodating, sensitive & friendly. The breakfast & dinner meals were great.

Dana lodge is a very special place located in the idyllic beauty of Mindo countryside. Our well appointed and spacious room provided a very private open patio overlooking the mountains, flora and fauna, alive with so many beautiful birds. Owner David, arranged an incredible birding experience with a expert naturalist Nelson. Binoculars and guide books were even provided. We were given wonderful suggestions Which allowed us to take in so much of Mindo’s charm. I cannot say enough about the delicious food, coffee and fresh juices! Everything we had was wonderful and provided with the most pleasant and personalized service - right to our private patio! This is absolutely a most unique gem and I hope to return!

Really great place. The staff, especially Alejandro, were very helpful and a accommodating during our stay!

The property is kind of remote and the road to get here is really bumpy and they are currently doing construction to place a pool and other upgrades. Having said that, I would not pass on this property. We had the same view this couple has. Breakfast on the balcony in the morning sunshine with the Mindo mountains in the backgrounds was priceless. There are hummingbird feeders to get some shots of some new hummers I had never seen before. Would highly recommend.

We had a very special stay here. The staff were incredible helpful and friendly. We had a delicious meal at their restaurant one evening and breakfast in our room overlooking the mountains every morning. They even had binoculars to borrow for bird watching. Highly recommended!

Perfect in every way!

We went for a weekend getaway and stayed in the room with the hottub. We were there to disconnect from everything and this was perfect in every way! Free room service, wonderful food, beautiful porch setting, spotless and comfortable room, and beat of all...COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY STAFF! We live here in Ecuador and believe me, that is a rare commodity. We will most definitely return😀

Great location — close to activities but removed from the mayhem of town. Beautiful landscape views. Very conveniently, they sell tickets for all the activities in the area. Rooms are amazing. Owners/operators/staff are super nice and helpful. Top notch!

Perfect

We loved it here! We stayed at a few different lodges in Mindo and Las Terrazas De Dana was our favorite. Ana, David and staff were amazing and the level of service is the best I've experienced anywhere. They do everything they can to make your stay in Mindo perfect. The lodge and rooms are beautiful, modern, extremely clean and comfortable. It's a great place to unwind after a day of activities and also relax all day like at an all-inclusive resort. We loved having a private balcony to enjoy our meals and take in the views, butterflies and hummingbirds. You can see all of the love, detail, and care that is put into the lodge to make it comfortable and keep it fresh and clean (no smell of humidity like some other lodges in Mindo). We loved our stay and didn't want to leave! We hope to return soon.

What really makes this hotel special is the location and the service.....All the members of the team go out of their way to be helpful including dropping you off for early morning bird watching trips.We all had a WONDERFUL time......😁😁😁

Absolutely wonderful stay! Highly recommend!

Our stay was truly amazing in every way. Service was outstanding. First, the owners, David and Anna, made us feel so welcome and were as hospitable as can be. They let us use some of their personal insect repellent, loaned us their personal charger that I needed to charge my computer, drove us to the bus station, loaned us binoculars, and were generally friendly and helpful in every way possible. Alejandro, the receptionist and cook, did a really professional job and was also attentive and accommodating to our needs, as was Elizabeth and all of the employees! Cannot say enough wonderful things about the beauty of the lodge. One step outside and we were in the midst of a beautiful garden with a spectacular variety of blooming tropical plants. Every time we walked from our front door to reception we noticed another beautiful bloom. The accommodations themselves were very comfortable and beautifully appointed with wood accents, a large shower, and a hot tub. Breakfast was served either in the restaurant or in the room, as requested. Plentiful and delicious, breakfast out on the deck was delightful. One night we ate dinner out on the deck, and we highly recommend the trout! Scrumptious! So glad we chose to stay at Las Terrazas!

Friendly, spacious lodge

David and Ana are terrific hosts. We had a lovely stay in the very comfortable, modern rooms with a delicious breakfast on our room terrace. Views of the mountains and birds. Walking distance (15 minutes) to town.

Magical!

Amazing boutique hotel in the hills overlooking the base of the Andes. Staff was incredible! The customer care and attention is truly the best! Breakfast was healthy, fresh and delicious. We ate dinner a few times at the hotel and a few times in town, town is easy walking distance to hotel. The hotel dinner was also truly remarkable- super fresh, and very flavorful! Rooms are immaculate and well decorated and designed- the view was breathtaking.... this will always be remembered as one of our most favorite trips--- it is truly magical and peaceful. (Added plus- for birders this is a paradise-- from your terrace you can see many many many different species- aracaris, toucans, warblers, hummingbirds, parrots and so many others.....--- )

The best place we have stayed in Ecuador

VERY RECOMMENDED ! Marlon picked us up at the airport with a sign and we walked together to his truck where he welcomes us to Ecuador with a hot herbal tea :) It took us 2.5 hours with a great view and company to get into Mindo, there we met David, the lovely owner of the Lodge. The room was very clean, so are the towels and sheets. A great view from the balcony AND from the Jacuzzi that has a window to the outside. You can ask to eat breakfast at the room and chew with a smile while watching and hearing all the birds and butterflies waking up, just AMAZING cause the place is surrounded by nature. David is honest, real, non commercial and it is clear is loves his work and the place. His hospitality is out of the ordinary! It's like a family member hosting you and taking care of all your needs... He knows a lot about Ecuador and gives great recommendations of Mindo and the rest of Ecuador.

This place is amazing and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and many hummingbirds. Service was great. I highly recommend staying here. Definitely would stay here again

David perfect host

We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful and relaxed time. David the owner is very hands on and nothing seemed to be too much for him. The cabins are individually well located with stunning views of the cloud forest Have recommended to our friends

Eden in Mindo

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying with David at Tarrassas de Dana. The hotel is only 4 small bungalows. They are simply but elegantly designed and finished. The site if nothing less than spectacular. Gorgeous! Full of flowers, verdant mountains, hummingbirds and butterflies. David was a wonderful host and so very helpful. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel served on the private porch of our bungalow. Both were excellent.

Amazing place in the cloud forest in Mindo

Had an amazing stay here at Las Terrazas del Dana. David who is the owner was very hospitable. He was always available upon request for any issues that happened. My friend got who was ill during our stay, David and his staff were very attentive with their service and making sure my friend felt better. The bungalow I stayed at had the most beautiful view too. Next time I am in Mindo, I will definitely stay here again.

Amazing staff, beautiful lodges!

David, the owner, runs a modern and beautiful eco lodge in Mindo. His entire staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed only 1 night but during that time, one person traveling in our group was sick and the entire staff took the time to make some special meals for her, including steam rice with broth and other things not included in their normal menu. Veronica, their chef, also baked a delicious Passionfruit cheesecake and invited us to have some as a complimentary midday snack. David took time out of his day to drive us to the local sights such as the Mariposario and Orchid Garden (he spends the majority of the day in the front house and dining area answering questions for guests and helping out, very hands-on!) we had a great stay. Must try Veronica's special ceviche but the rest of the menu is equally delicious. overall a truly great stay and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an elegant and simple stay in Mindo close enough to their town center!
