Best family resort in NZ

This resort with out a doubt has to be the best family resort in NZ! The pool is incredible, the 2brm motel style room is stylish but functional.

The pool is just amazing, the rooms look brand new, extremely clean with all you need.

We loved the property. Everything was in close proximity. My grandchildren had plenty to keep them occupied. The toilets by the pool area was a little messy. I was reluctant to use one but I needed to. All in all we loved it!

Just loved the big heated lagoon pool! Lovely and clean too.

The highlights were the hot pool, swim up bar and the game near the reception. Regarding the cabin we just have a few comments: - the lack of privacy between cabins (when we arrived the neighbouring guests were using out balcony and furniture. - it would be nice to have complimentary tea and coffee - there was a hair on the dishes in the kitchen!

We had the best stay i didnt want to leave. It was just stunning . We just loved the pools . We will be back for sure

We had a fantastic stay. Two adults and two infants. The pool is incredible and the toddler area perfect for our two year old. A swim up bar/cafe for a holiday treat and daily movies on the big screen. Playground and jumping pillows for the kids. A fantastic park!

Loved the stay

Stay was great. Good facilities, amazing pool. Lots of attractions to see and do in the local area.

As always, the pool is fantastic. It's a regular place for us to stay now.

Very disappointing

Didn’t end up staying. Room was a very average caravan type accommodation. There were 2 power points which were not connected to the wall and had wires hanging out. Drove into town and booked into a motel that cost less and was on the lake and within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. Returned our keys and explained about the exposed wires in the room and did not hear back from the property. The resort is not close to the lake or town and the pool area is not as attractive as it is depicted on social media. Would not recommend.

I'd stay there again,worth every penny..

This is the second time we have stay here,my kids love the Cabin and aswell the big thermal heated pool with bar located in the centre of the pool also the cinema in the pool keeps the kids busy while me and the wife unwind with a volder than average beverages,great fun for all,highly recommended.

A MUST TO TRY

Absolutely enjoyed by all the age groups. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. We had the perfect place for three lots of family to stay.

Room was so clean. Nice and warm and cosy. Only problem being the two days out of our three the restaurant was closed which we were not informed about when booking our stay.

The thermal pool with swim up bar is amazing! We stayed in a 2 bedroom motel unit which had everything we need. Great kitchen (although the stovetop cooked at either hot or very hot), big bathroom, and great sized living area. Wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Location is not close to the main area but still only a 10min drive. Really close to the Huka Falls walkway and Hot pools. We were there late Feb and it felt very quiet with not many people around considering the size of the place.

Great amenities for all the family the weather was very wet but having the pool and bar area was a great way to spend wet weather days

Sadly the main pool is under construction which is why we booked this accom - call to double check 1st :)

The swimming pool with the screen makes this our go-to for Taupo accommodation.

Great spot for a winter break. The kids loved the jumping pillow and as a family we all loved the heated pools!

Happy Ausies

The best holiday resort we have experienced in NZ and Australia. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with all the trappings,but found the laundry and kitchen facilities for other patrons to be of good quality and very clean. The heated pool and bar area topped off our stay.

fabulous facility - the swim up bar was awesome

Friendly staff who were willing to help with bookings, as well as taxi service. The facilities are amazing and the pool was an absolute bonus after doing the Tongariro Crossing. This venue suits both couples and families and we will be back again for sure.

Great family break

Had a great weekend in a great location with our kiwi family. Really great facility with lots to do for the kids in a safe location. Only a few minutes from the lake and the many tourist attractions Taupo has to offer. On top of this possibly the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept in!

Perfect for kids!

This pool is second to none for kids and adults. Weather was awful but with the thermal pool it didnt matter. Great stay

We had a family reunion and were very disappointed at being charged for extra family coming to visit us for day visits. Also with the slow way the account was prepared and lack of breakdown on account even after requesting it. The pools were nice but had limited access for older people with mobility concerns.

Great facilities, poor service

The pool is amazing, and on that basis this place is great for families. Customer service not good at main exception, also the fact you aren't allowed to take any form of food or drink to the pool isn't great (feels like a way to extract more money out if families).

Great for kids

The deluxe cabin we stayed in was the nicest accommodation we had in NZ. It was clean and comfortable. The heated pool was fantastic for kids. The room servicing was a bit slow but it was school holidays.

great stay, awesome pools, neat grounds,

the new pools at the taupo top ten are awesome. we had a great time staying and soaking even though the weather was terrible. the grounds are beautiful with blossoms and kowhai flowers for spring. the whole family enjoyed our wee holiday.

A great stay

We had a family group in 4 motel rooms for a couple of nights . The kids loved the facilities and we all loved the new pool . The swim up bar is a bonus for sure. Could quite happily stay here for 5 nights or so, proximity to town is good, lots to do in Taupo, or you can just hang around the pool if so inclined.

Great room at Top 10

Great place top 10 kids love the new pool. Just found the water to cold around the bar. But loved the hot pool nice and relaxing. Enjoyed the movies just found it hard to hear when you in the hot pool. Staff was nice and friendly and always smiling. Thanks for a great weekend.

Fantastic place to stay with kids

We had a great stay. In hindsight we would have booked a slightly bigger unit for our comfort.

Pleasantly surprised

I hadn't stayed at A Top Ten Holiday park before so was a little apprehensive however the cabin and facilities were great. I would highly recommend it and will use them again.

Large well maintained site

Great place to stay to explore Taupo and surrounding area, with pickup from site to do Tongariro Crossing (which was awesome) and other trips. Popular site, mainly for camping/touring vehicles, but I stayed in excellent "standard cabin" which was clean and comfortable. Clean wash blocks and communal facilities. All up to standard you expect from a Top10 Site.

Holiday Park catering to all budgets

We really enjoyed our stay. Facilities were excellent and all staff were friendly. The cleaning staff were excellent.

Great family stay

We had a lovely stay at this Top 10 park. While it was not cheap, the cabin was clean and spacious. The staff were helpful and the park had great facilities, including a fantastic pool. We look forward to staying here again soon.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the July school holidays. Staff were friendly, informative and helpful. The cabin was lovely and cozy, and super warm (fantastic as we were right in the middle of the "cold-snap"). Great place for young families as it has a lot of activities for the kids. Would love to visit in the summer time.

Standard Cabin

We were welcomed warmly at the reception. Given clear directions to our accommodation. The room a cabin was smaller than it looked in the photo but easily warmed with the heat pump.

unprofessional staff

The staff were rude and unhelpful with regards to an accomodation mix up. We ended up turning around and leaving straight away and finding somewhere else to stay.

Perfect Family Accommodation

Taupo Top 10 is a fantastic destination for families. The rooms are compact but spacious enough to fit a family comfortably and are always very clean and well presented. The park is fantastic for the kids when we stay we generally spend a lot of our time in the complex. The kids enjoy the pool, playground jumping pillows and having a game of tennis.

Very bad experience. Rooms are like containers

I was not advised that we had to walk 50m to visit toilets and bathrooms. Atleast the rooms should have had a handbasin. Also when we checked in we were not told that there were no towels however upon enquiring then we were advised that.

Fabulous for groups

Our first family visit used as a stoppover. Wished we'd stayed longer. Only issue was our shower soap dispenser was left near empty - i tapped it - it jumped off wall and hit me on the head giving a ?glamorous xmas head cut

Helpful service

Reasonable stopover for a family trip

Plenty to keep the kids busy

Travelling with a 3 & 5 yr old we opted for a unit with 4 sets of bunks and a queen bed in the living room. The room was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. There was plenty to keep them busy for hours, pools, electronic game (had a special name i can't recall) jumping pillow and right behind our unit was a large playground with 2 enclosed trampolines and a good mix of obstacles for younger and older children. The Staff were helpful and shop carried the essentials. I was concerned that the construction would be noisy but i didn't hear anything from the unit and only saw them working in the middle of the day.

Booked basic cabin for family of 5

Very comfortable. Could do with a installing a TV; cabling is already there and towel rails for wet things.
