Like many European hotels I’ve stayed at with similar price points, the conditions are not great. The bed was hard, quality of the building is mediocre, appliances work but are not in great shape. Breakfast was quite good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s in a relatively quiet area with many restaurants and shops nearby.
Good property good rate and not from train station
Avoid
Having a hard time believing some of these reviews. In what world is this a 4 star hotel? The property is incredibly worn down. AC and hot water were broken the first day. No apologies or compensation. Very dingy feeling in the room and hallways. The pictures shown of the façade are of the BACK of the hotel. Felt incredibly misrepresented overall. Avoid avoid avoid
Brilliant, well equipped & clean room. Perfect for our overnight stay. Some lovely bistros a short walk away.
Hotel is close to subway station. On the other hand shower drainage is bad.
My Stay Here
Stay was amazing and the hotel is close to trains. Nice buffet style breakfast set up Clean room and quiet property
Laundry andAC didn't work well. Excellent front desk staff. Property worn down.
Wouldn’t recommend.
I was very disappointed with the cleansiness of my room. I had to keep asking Reception for toilet rolls and bin bags!
Gave us the top floor, climbing that spiral stairs was a work out! Besides that location was good, close to port, transportation and restaurant. Public parking expensive if you have car. I would stay here again, but only if I get a first floor room.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Nice
The rooms were spacious / quiet, great kitchen / utinsels for cooking, had fridge, four burner stove, micro wave, rooms were very clean. We had four people and the room fit everything easily. We travel a lot and this was definitely a nice stay!
Excellent location
Good value
Lovely hotel, staff very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was included in price and was most enjoyable & good. Hotel close to metro and wonderful little restaurants
Good location. Clean large rooms. Very reasonable pricing. Staff was difficult to communicate with. Guests are required to formally clean kitchen area which seems unfortunate.
Dirty
Value of money
15 mins drive away from the city centre. Very nice and modest room, with separated area of toilet and bath. Parking slot is safe and nice.
It was clean, secure, and quiet, which are the most important things. A decent view out the window to the east. Main issue I had was the shower. The showers were lukewarm and had a dribble of pressure. I was literally cold while standing in the shower at maximum temperature. The shower door doesn't cover the entire shower which led to water damage in the wall. It's not my problem, but it's just weird and low quality to look at. The decor is hideous but whatever. The auxiliary lighting (for the desk and by the bed) was weirdly dim. Decent value for Lyon, but I've stayed in better places for less money.
Lights out, as single woman felt unsafe.
It was very close the metro and this allowed us to travel very easily through the city and to the Euroexpo.
Great base to explore beautiful Lyon
Great location, value and welcome. Only negative feature was lack of clarity in information regarding what was described as a pool, which was a key reason to choose this property. However, it was only a hot tub which had to be booked hourly at additional cost.
Not really a 4 star but the staff was very nice.
The primary image online for the hotel was what excited us most about booking there but we wound up in a room on a lower than main level (basement). The sliding glass doors offered us a view of and exposure to a common, public courtyard, without any access to the roof deck unless we paid 20 euros per hour for the "spa". We also needed access to the paid parking, which was a distance from our room, dark, dirty and felt unsafe. Very disappointed overall.
or a few nights
The apartment was not so clean, and began to deteriorate which is a bit of a shame for a 4 * accommodation. However the staff were really very pleasant and welcoming, I still recommend for a few nights.
Very comfortable place to stay with mini apartment feels. Would prefer if rooms were cleaned every day however.
The people were wonderful here. The price was right and the cost of breakfast was not unreasonable at 10 euros, The dryer never seemed to get the cloths dry.
Needed a hotel near Jean Moulin University. Good location right on the Métro And walking distance to the school. Food market and shops nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our French was minimal and we had no issues.
Lyon...Wow
LaGrange was perfect. Simple, great location, clean. Already looking towards a return visit.
overall very pleasant but the cutlery and cups etc still had dirty marks all over them
Rooms are big and provide good facility. But not provide umbrellas.
The property it's in a good location. Close to metro so easy to get to old town and other attractions. Nice quiet room with nice view. Good continental breakfast.
Lovely and quiet. Comfortable bed. Fully-equipped kitchen area. i think a “starter pack” of tea / coffee etc would be nice but if you know i advance to bring your own coffee andfilrwe papers...
Clean, modern and helpful staff. Convenient for two metro stations and good local restaurants.
Overall, a great spot for my wife, daughter, and I. Easy access to the metro. Clean comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cap park is to far from main hotel apartments. Rooms are not very clean and require upgrading. Fine for 1 or 2 nights max
Friendly front desk. Rushed room cleaning/Check out...
Do not stay here. Awful. Terrible. Go somewhere else.
Spacious room with nice kitchenette and nearby grocery store.
Lyon
A very comfortable stay. Hotel was very good. Good public services and all attractions nearby.
Great for comfortable stay.
Great place to stay. Comforatable with friendly desk staff.
i want to ask you something: Why charge me 25 Euro credit card after I left? I would be happy to get your answer.
No room cleaning for stays under 7 days. You have to take your own towels to the reception to have them replaced
Excellent experience. Very quiet vey clean. Did not try breakfast. Large accomodation
Hotel is 2 min walk from metro. Room is big and nice. The reception team are very kind and will help on any question you need. Spa is not included and there is no gym. We really liked the place, the city and kind people all around.
Outstanding.
A beautiful well equipped studio close to metro offering easy access to the city. Very friendly and professional staff who were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this apart hotel.
Close to friends apartment and metro. Lyon was a great experience.
Exactly as expected
Exactly as expected
Lagrange - great value
Great oication not too far from the action via subway stations very close that take you where you need. The apartment is a great way to add valie to your trip allowing a certain degree of freedom (kitchen) and more north american style comfort. Great value.
All charges for the stay are paid upfront. There is an extra cleaning charge for using the kitchen. The room was clean as well as the hotel. Secure parking available under the hotel. Easy walking distance to Metro station. NO room refreahing--didn't make rhe bed, clean towels, etc. Would have appreciated that information ahead of time.
Lyon trip
Convenient place and good value for money . Clean and comfortable & locates near city lyon city center .
Electrical plug was so terrible... be careful.
Better than what I expected. Very good value for money.
Comfortable stop with easy access to city.
Modern comfortable hotel. Would have been good to have a set down park spot as can't access car park until checked and road outside is busy. Metro/underground station 5mins walk away for easy access to centre of Lyon.
Nice clean big room. Near metro station. Good kitchen in the room.
Not in central Lyon, but very easy to get around via the metro. Modern hotel, nicely designed. Helpful staff. Things I didn’t like - bed was two singles pushed together and made as a double, but the mattresses had hard fridges around the edge, which meant a hard ridge down the middle of the bed - no good sleep anynight. Would have been better to have a proper double mattress or keep as singles. Also, since it is like an apartment structure, so no maid service, and you keep things clean yourself, room should provide basic cleaning products like washing up liquid so you can was your cups!
Great room. Nice and quiet in annexe. Would use again
It was great one and i will repeat it again next visit to france. Many thanks
Nice hotel close to the center of the city
We enjoyed our stay in the 1BR appartment. Spacious with a large bathroom and a small fridge.
At room that stinks!
Tgere was a problem with the swage and we had to tollerate the stink all night, definitely not coming back
Disappointed.. would never stay again.
I'm not sure how this hotel received such positive reviews. It was basic, in a terrible location and lacked even basic amenities like a luggage cart or toiletries. Nickeled and dimed for everything- baby cot, parking, A blah breakfast (9 euro), etc.
Lyon, culture & beautiful history
The apartment was comfortable, modern, new appliances & with carparking available on site, great continental breakfast & central to walk around feeling the city buzz...
The non smoking room we reserved smelled like an ash tray and after 5 minutes our eyes were tearing and we ran out of the hotel. The Hotel staff and Expedia would not refund our money ($300 for a two day stay), even though we booked only two hours before we arrive and stayed less than 10 minutes. Based on this experience we will never book a hotel or flight through Expedia again.
Good value
Room 007 lower ground floor very claustrophobic. Difficult to enter shower over bath. Reasonably clean could have been better. Cobwebs in floor corners. Overall not unpleasant and close to metro which is why we chose this hotel.
Room 007!!
Not the best reception upon arrival. Room quite tight and claustrophobic (lower ground floor) but did have small outside terrace. Bathroom very small. Shower over bath very difficult to enter.
I didn't realized that I booked a place that was similar to renting an apartment so there was no room services if I booked less then 7 days. And their spa was a disappointment in which I wasn't reimbursed back.
Laura, Uulia and Sherif made our visit special!
When planning a trip to Lyon, you should definitely consider staying at the Lyon Lagrange Apart'hotel! Once a hotel is built, we all know that it is the staff that decides whether guests enjoy their stay or don't. Laura and Uulia at the front desk, and Sherif in the dining area were the staff members who deserve credit for insuring our stay at Lyon Lagrange Apart'hotel was five stars! From the moment we checked in and met Laura, we knew the stay would be exceptional. Later in the day, Uulia pitched in with above and beyond hospitality to make sure that some special needs we had were met. Breakfast was as we expected, but Sherif's cheerful attentiveness to keeping the dining room buffet supplied and the room clean made the experience more than just decent. And, Sherif was not the only one who took pride in the dining room. When he was off, the woman who took worked there did a find job as well. Our room more than met our expectations. It was immaculate, nicely designed, and very comfortable. We enjoy walking - especially in a new city where there is so much new to see. As a result, we didn't at all mind the 30 minutes it took to walk into the old town area. If we had, we would have been able to jump on a metro very close to the hotel.
The reception area is very small but it has a nice garden.
Ok place
Booked the hotel for 2 weeks in between traveled to different location but the city is not alive. Quiet. I haven't seen people to smile with. People don't hang out outside the hotel. Room is clean staff do not talk much. Some are actually rude. Coay alot to use thier laundry facility. In the end the clothes are still damp and had to hang up the clothing on the balcony.
It is a lovely studion with everything you will need, central to everything and easy access to public transport.
Very roomy
Very nice hotel room / more like a condo. Close to several restaurants and stores. Would stay again
Great Choice for Families
Very quiet, very modern and clean look, nice quiet, in between 2 Metro stops
Comfortable apartment for easy touring
Comfortable "apartment" in nice local area. Easy walking to restaurants in non-touristy part of town. Metro to old town (no transfers required) is a half a block from the hotel, making it very convenient for touring. Didn't try amenities such as swimming pool.
Mostly umimpressed
For a 4* hotel/apartment, there IS ABSOLUTLY nothing in the rooms, not even a tea bag! And the coffee machine is horrendous, I can't describe how horrible the machine coffee is! And hotel is in a residential area so nothing is open near by to get a decent drink / food Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Check out is at 11am and I was trying to send an email for work, but the Wifi was pretty slow and not sending my email - at 11:04 the staff were knocking on my door for me to leave. I was seriously unimpressed with that. Would not rate this 4* at all. It's a hybrid of 2* for lack of service or anything in your room (fully equipped kitchen to cook with but not even a coffee sachet!) and 3* for comfy rooms. Service is lacking
Dirty, rude, and not as promised
Although a couple of the front-desk-staff were nice, many were rude and and most with very poor English skills. Our room had mold it in, a sofabed that had holes in the upholstery, and was very dirty. The shower grout was defective and every shower resulted in a leak in our room. The interiour of the hotel was dark and smelled of mildew. The washer and dryer barely worked. Nothing was as promised.
WIFI really sucks. Too slow to use. Shower is not good. Not as good as expected.
Condos are beautiful and it is very convenient to city center (4 stops/15 minutes). Rooms are huge with full kitchen and amenities. Staff was great and helpful on how to navigate around the city. Lyon > Paris I have nothing more to say. A+.
Nice apartment close to all amenities
Excellent base for visiting the city. Close to metro, shops and an excellent choice of dining. The locals were friendly and helpful
Lyon
A business trip. Airline had lost my luggage and staff were good in helping to deal with this.
Nice hotel but a little far from city center
I enjoyed the room and hotel. The hotel is a little far from the center of Lyon but is accessible by subway/tram. It's close to a few points if interest-Lumiere museum.
Great place to stay in Lyon
Smart tidy rooms. Parking available on site which was a plus. About 20-25 min walk to the old town. Would recommend if you wanted to stay for a few daqys and wanted the flexibility to do your own breakfast.
Convenient and clean
Apartment room was clean and comfortable. Slightly disappointed that I requested a twin room twice, received an email confirming the request saying don't worry it's clearly on your notes but arrived to a double bed arrangement. Luckily the male receptionist was very helpful and sorted this out quickly.
Easy access to tube and plaza with weekly markets and restaurants. Cheerful decor. Kitchenette gives you possibility to have breakfast or more in your room.
Very nice hotel for a long stay.
Good and quite location near good restaurants . Staff at the reception were friendl and trying to guide you to nice places and trying to help . Parking is available for €10/night. Rooms are pretty clean and comfortable.
Great base for exploring Lyon
Spent an enjoyable weekend in Lyon, staying at the La Grange Appart'Hotel Lumiere. The appartment was very comfortable and met all our needs. It was very clean and tidy, and the kitchen and fridge were a bonus. It meant we could buy a few bits and pieces for the supermarket to eat and drink. We didn't have the breakfast as there were plenty of shops and bakery nearby to pick up pastries etc. Nor did we have time to use the spa due to site seeing. It is a good location in terms of access the city's transport network - there are two metro stations and a tram stop within a few minutes walk taking you to the city centre, Vieux Lyon and transport interchange. Get a 3 day pass (includes various discounts). The staff were friendly and helpful and speak English (if needed). Would definately recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting the city.
Great hotel in Lyon with easy access to train
Great apartment-style hotel, with a kitchenette, utensils, and refrigerator. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel also has an affordable full-size laundry which was very useful to us. The room was large and nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable and the shower was outstanding.
quiet setting, near metro
The hotel rooms are clean and smart. A real hairdryer is a bonus! Rooms are not serviced , so you keep tidy yourself. Only basic toiletries, but shops nearby for essentials. The hotel is in a good position for the station and transfers to the airport. Only a short metro ride into town, or a 30 minute walk if you want. Really, the only minus, would be the very firm bed. Had a bad back every day. Would still use the hotel again, but would put extra duvets onto of mattress!
We arrived early and the lady wouldn't give us a early check in, location wise it was far away from the city and our room was so far from the lift. We struggled with our luggage Room was nice but there was no amenities
We booked here because they said "pool" was one of the amenaties. Turned out to be a rooftop hot tub for $10E for a 1 hour visit, which wasn't very appealing in 80+ degree weather. Also, the hotel is in the business district, which is near nothing.
Management, please fix these things!
When we arrived we said, "Wow, this is lovely". But by the time we left we were saying, "Wow, this place needs fixing!" Here's what needs fixing: 1. Provide free dish soap. How much can a tiny container of dish soap cost? And without it how can anyone be sure that the previous guests washed the dishes? (You charge if they don't--so how many people just rinse the dishes and put them away?) 2. Put up better curtains. The current ones don't keep out the sun effectively and are useless as mosquito screening. 3. Improve air conditioning. The south facing rooms get baking hot. 4. (Less important) provide better water pressure in showers
Great hotel for a short break
Hotel very well located, close to town centre via two stops on the metro there are two metro stations in close proximity. The hotel/apartment also has parking. Our rooms were clean, and large enough to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Staff were very helpful. The local area has its own centre with restaurants, bars bakeries etc. Although we did not try the restaurants we did purchase breakfast and can recommend the bakers/sandwich shop in the petrol station. There is also a museum, the lumiere, which is in the lumiere family villa and charts the invention of film and photography, which we would recommend. Lyon itself is huge, with lots of things to do and places to eat. It's served by a good efficient public transport system that will get you where you need to go to. Great city.
Great headquesters for a visit to Lyon
Would repeat this again or in any of the locations this chain operates a similar business.
very nice , parking no problem
very nice , large rooms ,parking no problem, very good location, anytime again
Lovely clean comfortable hotel
Brilliant location ( other than 20 minutes walk from main station), close to metro, restaurants and tram. Staff extremely friendly and very helpful when we had a problem with cooking. Attended to immediately and satisfactorily. The room is excellent, clean and comfortable and hotel in an impressive setting.
Needed a reasonable place to stay in Lyon while visiting friends on the weekend during a longer business trip - so a place to stay and do a little work when not out and about. This worked perfectly on all counts. Convenient to the metro, quick and easy access to Place Bellecour and Vieux Lyon. Catch the TGV at Gare de Lyon Part-Dieu with only one change of line. Would definitely consider for longer stays as well, the kitchenette would come in handy.
Lovely apartment close to city centre
We had a lovely stay here for a couple of days on our brief visit to Lyon. The apartment was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The kitchenette was a little small and if we were staying longer it might have been annoying but it was fine for just a couple of days. The hotel is close to two metro stations so it's really easy to get everywhere - the metro system is cheap and easy to use, I would definitely recommend getting a day ticket (just 5.50 euros) which allows you to get the metro, tram and buses as well as the funicular up to the Basilica for as many journeys as you like. There are a couple of nice enough restaurants near the hotel as well as a high street with food shops etc. and a really nice little bakery (right next to the petrol station) which does lovely baguettes etc. We didn't have any food or use the spa at the hotel as it was a little expensive. Overall it was a great few days, lovely apartment with everything we needed and polite staff. We would recommend it!
just ok
This hotel would be perfect for a long stay. For just one night trip, it would be better to have some more facilities. No way to have a coffee outside of the breakfast, unless you buy some coffee in a supermarket (if you are lucky and find one open).Same thing for food, you have a fully equipped kitchen, but would you use it for a night or two stay? Breakfast is OK. Staff is nice and well orgnized. I would rather prefer a room on an upper floor as on the ground floor you see a lot of people crossing the garden. A couple more pillows would be wecome too
fantastic
I stayed in a studio which was just lovely. Kitchenette and bathroom, nice sized room, close to everything I needed to be near. Highly recommend.
Quite modern building. Very helpful staff
