We enjoyed our stay at Lagos Mare. The staff was very hospitable and helpful and provided great advice on what areas to visit on the island. The property was clean and conveniently located at a bus stop, near grocery stores and restaurants and within walking distance to Agios Prokopios Beach . I would this property.
Great Boutique Hotel. Restaurant is delicious and priced well. Only thing is the Air Conditioning is not very strong but it is adequate.
Great location. Easy walk to the beach. Super friendly staff!
Super clean, modern hotel, with friendly staff. The breakfast is excellent.
We visited the island of Naxos - I know this island very well. The property was not well located - involved a lot of walking ( several times a day) into town/beach. The reason I scored it low - I made the reservation so I could Pay At Property ( an option given by Expedia/ Hotels.com - the operator took full payment out for entire stay one month ahead. I spoke to the owner regarding this issue and he advised me that they did not comply with Expedia. I feel strongly that my contract with Expedia/ Hotels.com was not honored. When the funds were taken out one month in advance, I contacted Expedia - heard nothing back from them. If you want to pay at hotel, Do Not Stay At This Property - they will take payment in full one month before you arrive.
Absolutely our favourite stay on our trip. The restaurant staff were incredibly friendly and kind, they were genuinely hospitable. Walkable location to the beach. Very quaint and quiet hotel. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. Delicious half board with high value. Breakfast is fresh and delicious.
Great place for family and the beach was very close and great I will recommend this to family and friends
Good location
Staff were very pleasant and easy to communicate with. Reception was happy to assist with arranging our car rental and transfer services. Breakfast was a nice variety with fresh made to order eggs. Ideal location with short walk to beaches and restaurants. Highly recommend Lagos Mare.
Excellent Family vacation!
We were exploring the island as a family. This hotel is in an amazing location, just a 3 min walk from the beach and a bunch of restaurants! It is super family friendly, the service was excellent and it was very clean.
Amazing service and great location
Good resort, but far from Chora
Good resort. Close to the beach but far from the main town (approx 20 mins drive). They say the bus comes every 30 minutes however the reality is it's actually every hour which can make it harder to plan to get into town. (Approx 40 minutes past the hour into town). The pool was nice and the staff were helpful organising our 4x4 tour and the directions.
Awesome experience!! Staff was amazing and very accommodating.
Hotel was very nice. Pool was good. They had lots of work going on at the property as they were getting ready for the season. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Very quaint hotel, just what you expect to see on a Greek island. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Would go back.
Beautiful hotel, incredible staff and close to a wonderful stretch of beach.
nice hotel close to beach
Perfect location close to everything! Staff was so helpful and kind, took care of all our needs
Excellent
Great stay. Lovely and friendly staff. Would recommend!
Excellent retreat close to beach
Excellent retreat close to beach. Also bustop outside so easy to get to town
Very friendly and helpful staff, but way overpriced. Small pool, limited view to the ocean and a decent walk to the beach. If it were cheaper then there would be more value.
staff were very friendly, 5 minute walk from beach
I enjoyed my stay at Lagos Mare, Naxos is a must see Island!
Really nice and cutr
Had a very nice stay. Located close to beach. Staff was great..
Friendly clean hotel.
Hotel was well situated close to the beach and numerous restaurants. Hotel staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and always had a smile. Facilities were great and the hotel pool and the two pools in the neighbouring hotel were exceptionally clean and not busy, some times we had all three pools to ourselves. The food was very good and everyone enjoyed the buffet breakfast as there was something for all. The room was clean and sufficient and throughly cleaned every day. The beaches were good, especially if you walk away from the main area. The sea was crystal clear.
Too remote from the beach
Nice clean hotel, but too remote from beaches ... all are a drive away, which is a real pity as Naxos is a beautiful island. The view from our room was out onto what I would call a shack and this spoiled the whole ambience. People were very friendly but for these reasons I would not return.
Highly Recommended
This is a beautiful hotel on a beautiful island. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is superb, containing local, naxian delicacies. The facilities are not very large in general, but the modest size of the hotel creates a nice friendly vibe. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a nice terrace where one can could the sea. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to the beach, which is also suberb, although it doesn't have a pedestrian path, which is a shame - one has to walk on the road itself.
Nice hotel in Naxos
Very good and comfortable hotel in Naxos. Service is very good and friendly. We enjoyed our stay there. Highly recommended for Naxos
Good Stay
Hotel is just a short walk away from the beach. Lots of good restaurants and fun beach nearby. Hotel is nice and clean, staff is great. Breakfast is great. Def recommend it. 10 min drive from the main port.
Hotel in the middle of nowhere
It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from the traffic road (which does not have any pavement for the pedestrians) in order to the reach the beach nearby. So, the hotel is not as close to the sea as it is shown in the photos and texts. I strictly recommend not to pay any additional fee for "sea facing" room as the sea is km away and between the hotel and the sea is mid quality settlement which I dare you would like to see.
Had a very pleasant stay here .. Would highly recommend this hotel to stay in
Lovely hotel near the beach and restaurants
We stayed in the sea view suite with jacuzzi and would definitley recommend it! The room was very spacious, clean and modern. The hotel staff were very friendly and their service was excellent, helping with anything they could. The hotel is also close to 3 lovely sandy beaches. We recommend hiring a bycicle and visit Ag Anna and Plaka beaches for a fine sand beach. There are some nice restaurants within 2-5 min but you can also catch a bus from outside the hotel to Naxos Town for a more busy nightlife.
Good hotel
This is a fairly nice hotel. My score may be affected by the fact I came to stay here from a 5star luxury hotel. The premises of this hotel are beautiful. Well kept grass area, nice swimming pool and very good breakfast. Location is good but not excellent. Rooms are good in size but a bit dull. Balconies are extremely small and the view was an abandoned building on the side I was. Pretty much the same for everybody except for the ones staying at the suites side. Overall it is a nice place to stay.
Beautiful hotel a short walk from the beach
My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night while island hopping in Greece. The hotel was about a 15 minute cab ride from the ferry making it pretty convenient. Every staff member that we encountered was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was probably the best that we had while in Greece (we stayed at 6 hotels in various places) and was served next to the amazingly beautiful pool. The beach was about a 10 minute walk down the road along with several shops and restaurants. There were no sidewalks (which seemed to be common after visiting several of the islands) so you do have cars, mopeds and quads whizzing by you. There is a bus stop right across the street from the hotel that will take you into the town for a few dollars. It was very easy and safe to use. We used the bus systems on every island we visited and we never had any problems. Out of all the islands we visited (Naxos, Santorini, Mykonos and Syros) this island was the most friendly and relaxing. Overall, we really loved this hotel and wished we had booked a few more nights here!
Close to the beach
The hotel is conveniently located close to the beach. Free wifi is available in the lobby, but you can get it in your room if you are close to pools. The dinner was surprisingly tasty as it did not taste like local food. There are not much views from the hotel. To get to the town, you need to take a bus or taxi as walking is too far. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a good stay.
Mordern hotel with a bright airy feeling to it.
We stayed for 9 nights in the hotel at the beginning of june, most nights they only had 4/5 others rooms taken which was great for us as all the staff you to how us on a first name basis, which was lovley each morning to ask james would like some fresh orange juice! The hotel was very clean and well looked after, probaly the most mordern hotel in that area. The beach was a 7/10 minute walk away, down hill to get there. On the way down you had everthing you needed, shops, cafes, car hire etc... We had a sea view which was great each morning to look out at from the distance. Only a very few things to say could be nicer, the mattress was quite hard, but i think that is the case in most of greece and for the number of guests that stayed the breakfasts could be made to order. Would stay again and if you want a nice quite location this is precfect and go into Naxos town for a night or 2 out if you want more life.
a pleasant stay
definitely the better side of the island and within walking distance to a great beach and wonderful tavernas and bars...not loud like the port town...the hotel staff were very accommodating and welcoming...we had an unfortunate first night where we could hear the music from a nearby live venue, but once that stopped (and wasn't repeated the next night) it was very relaxing and pleasant
Hotel Lagos Mare-wonderful hotel
This truly a wonderful hotel. The staff are so helpful and nothing is to much for them.....we were lucky to be upgraded but this was just another benefit to a wonderful hotel and staff......they even have 2 pools one for kids and family one for adult sitting around the bar..one caution do not eat at the restaurant directly opposite the hotel....I also have to say in all the stays so far..the food and quality of produce in this hotel is excellent...thanks for a great 3 days Hotel Lagos Mare..we will be back.
Photos don't match the hotel
As other reviews have said - the hotel doesn't live up to its photos - it's much smaller and not as fancy. This is a shame because it's an okay hotel. I also expected more for the price. Service was a little too laidback and not always that helpful. Great location though and nice pool.
Relatively new hotel close to beach
Relatively new hotel that is about a 7 to 10 min walk from the beach. The breakfast was very good. The main town is about 3 miles from the hotel and the local bus stops outside the hotel. The hotel van can be hired for arrivals or departures but they charge 15 euro, which is 2 to 3 times the cost of a taxi. Our balcony was only 3 ft (1 meter) wide and it faced a vacant hotel. If you stood on the balcony there was an angled view of the ocean in the distance. There is a laundromat (White Snow Laundry) 2 blocks from the hotel that will wash and dry a large load of clothes for 8 euros (half what the hotel charges).
Could not have asked for more
I booked this hotel after only reading the positive reviews and was quite concerned after reading the negative ones--i probably would have cancelled the reservation but for their no cancellation policy. Boy am I glad I didn't. The hotel was totally great. They picked us up at the ferry, our room was amazing-had ocean views and our very own hot tub, 2 balconies and steps away from a beautiful stretch of beach. The food at the restaurant was awesome--so much so that we ate there both nights because my husband wanted to try everything on the menu (we have NEVER done this and we travel alot). The front desk staff were unbelievably sweet and are even sending me some shoes I left via post (at no charge). AND it was downright affordable. My only regret is that we didn't get to stay there another day. The hotel is not in the main town but the area it is in IS lovely. Lots of tavernas and whatnot. You will want to rent a car for 25 dollars a day and drive around the island anyway.
Naxos is AWESOME!
The hotel is new and super nice. The only complaint I had was the air conditioner seemed a little weak - but that's an island thing. The service and the staff were great. They upgraded us to a room with a view. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach where there are restaurants and where we rented a 4-wheeler. It's 10 mins from the airport and about the same from the port. Great place.
Not a bad place to stay. . .
The hotel's website and photos make the place appear larger than it really is. Our triple room was a tad minimal. . .but on the plus side the hotel's close proximity to the beach and friendliness of staff made up for it. A very quiet and restful stay.
Nice - but a few issues
I thought the hotel was nice. The rooms were ok - beds were not as fancy as I would have liked. Showers were small, and once the toilet didn't work, and once the A/C wasn't working. A little far from the beach - maybe 10 minute walk. In retrospect, I think I would rather stay in Naxos Town - though the Agios Propkios beach is great. Agios Propkios is certainly quiet relative to Naxos Town, but Naxos as a whole is not that big, so it's not like Naxos Town is New York City. Breakfast was also mediocre at the hotel.
Outstanding Hotel!!!!
We were very impressed with this hotel. They go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Imagine loaning a laptop; it was like checking out a library book, so convenient! The breakfast was excellent, they even offerred fresh, squeezed oj. The location was awesome too, you could just walk to the beach, eateries, store, the hotel provided complimentary pick up and drop off service to the port. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation!!!
Great hotel
We loved this place and would go back 100%!
great location
very inviting staff. nice lobby where buffet breakfast is served. pools are lovely. bus to Naxos town stops across the street. walk to the beach is 7 minutes into a nice town with beach cafes and restaurants. beach chair and umbrella service very reasonable at beach. hotel rooms were Greek style sparce. the towels and bath products were just ok. overall a lovely place.
worse hotel ever
This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed. They claim to be a 4 stars hotel but actually it is more like a 2 stars hotel at the price of a 4 stars hotel. I booked this hotel on hotel.com and paid 189 euros a night for a standard room with sea view. When we arrived at our room we were shocked. The room is outdated, the bed and the pillow are hard as rock and the sea view is more like a dumpster view than sea view ( See pictures by yourself) Since we did not like our room right from the start I paid for an upgrade thinking it will be better and we will have a pleasant stay. The receptionist recommended the the suite room and sold us that room had a Jacuzzi. Of course you have to pay for the extra charge for the room before you can see it. So we paid. The room was definitely bigger but poorly and outdated furnished. The Jaccuzy is just a Joke and the view, well we have the same view of the dumpster and the sea far away. Now for the service. Well let put it this way, the owners are pretentious and they treat the few staffs (One receptionist, two waiters and one chambermaid) more like slave than employees. During our 4 night stay we saw the same waiters from breakfast (starting at 8 am), all day and night (if they lucky they finish service at around midnight). This what I called modern slavery. I would like to disclose that I am also a business owner in the service industry in France and to me I cannot image doing this to my employees. This Unacceptable and I don't know what is
Toppenhotell. Mycket trevlig o serviceinriktad personal. Stora rena rum. Härligt poolområde. Lätt att ta sig till stan o strand.
Eine Oase zum Entspannen
Gut geführtes Boutique-Hotel mit einer Ruhe und Entspanntheit ausstrahlenden Atmosphäre. Gut: Fitnessraum. Ausserdem tolles Frühstück und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter.
A little far from the beach
