Amazing staff we felt so welcomed at the resort everyone was so wonderful, the rooms are so beautiful and clean and the food was amazing highly recommended, thank you so much for making part of our trip an amazing one jazz and Erick
The Labak River Hotel's location is just one of a kind! There is a middle of he rainforest with an unmatched pool and views. The staff was superkind, friendly and sweet. I recommend this hidden gem to everyone who loves the western modern style with authentic Bali athmosphere.
Magical setting
Beautiful hotel in magical setting
I booked for 2 night and only lasted a night. Black Mould everywhere!!! First impressions was they had half finished the property, with construction not happening. There was a terrible smell. They took us to our rooms, there was black mould on the roof and broken tile, stone areas. The property wasn’t maintained. I had a mid range room and again mould, Marks on the walls. The bathroom was disgusting with black and brown mould. The shower head was full of mould and only a couple of the shower head holes worked, so It had no pressure and could wash yourself and when you used the shower, water went everywhere. We when to have breakfast and the table were dirty, the food looks disgusting and decided to eat next door, which was amazing. The pool was the only nice thing about the whole property. It’s a 1 star hotel or a ok hostel. I checked out after the first night and they ask me why I was checking out and I told them and they laugh and didn’t care or apologies and said “we’ll full, which was untrue, I only saw 1 other person there” and told me there was the cancellation fee which was the full amount, which I didn’t care, as I just wanted to get out of there ASAP. Beware. Also It’s in the middle of nowhere.
Extremely pleasant stay. This was our first time in Bali and first hotel we had stayed in over here. Completely unsure of what to expect and were a tad surprised by the lizards outside but we are on the river. After we had our first nights sleep we were extremely relaxed and loved the hotel and the river running at the side of it. The staff and local people were lovely. Great places to eat if you turn right out of the hotel and a yoga centre to the left which is great and serves food too. Ubud centre is 5 mins in a taxi and about £3.50 70000 IDR. Uber centre is bustling with 100’s of shops and restaurants. Amazing place overall. Could have stayed much longer. Many great trips from the hotel for around £35 PP
Beautiful view, transport only available from 1000am which was a little difficult. If your fit the 2km walk would be ok. Older or not keen to tackle the hills over the bridge then taxi only option or rent scooters. Didn't eat at the hotel after first night as it was full of cats. Bit of a turn off cleanliness wise. Pool is in the open and very big but the water is bath temperature. Overall enjoyable but I would not choose to stay here again.
Great customer service. Beautiful views from the hotel. Had a few geckos in the room (as in most hotels in Ubud) but two men who worked there took them out for me. Food was good at the restaurant. Ubud Yoga Center is right next door which was my favorite part of my stay here. Make sure to check out their restaurant and yoga classes if you stay here!
First visit to Bali
Location in the river valley is beautiful! Lovely pool. Great bed but overall condition of the room is average.
Great staff around.
The staff was so friendly and helpful!! The property could definitely use some attention but you can tell they are trying. I think it’s important to remember this is a third world country and this is also a very affordable place to stay.
Comfortable lodging in Ubud
Labak hotel is a lovely lodging with very close access to Ubud yoga center and some wonderful surrounding restaurants. A little too far from center to walk, the hotels staff is friendly, welcoming and efficient. Unfortunately the included breakfast wasn’t served until 8 making it impossible for me to eat with my yoga training schedule. Would be nice if they offered it a little earlier! The pool was excellent although small and quickly runs out of space on a sunny day.
This hotel was amazing. It was close enough to city centre but not right in the heart so it was a lot more tranquil. The hotel revised free shuttles closer to city center and is so accommodating. The whole staff was super kind and amazing !
Beautiful hotel, nice pool and fantastic staff. Internet was tricky as you need to login every time you look at your phone. It should be improved to login once per device for the length of your stay.
Everything has its pros and cons.
amazing staff nice pool in the forest a satisfying breakfast but..a convoluted shower room... a beautiful environment but very far from the city center.
Friendly staff. Decent clean room. View was awful (wall) and misadvertised - which is a shame as the entrance door to the room had a lovely jungle view, serious design oversight.. as we made such an effort to get to Ubud - expected a view
It wasn’t best stay in Labak
Toilet was broken It was hassle We had to check in at 6 PM because for that After check in we found toilet was still broken On second day they offer to change room Staff wasn’t at best, facilities only swimming pool Over charged taxi, don’t let us use online taxi Food wasn’t best and also overpriced. Only good thing was infinite swimming pool but won’t pay 88 dollars per night for that and break fast was crap.
We very happy with the hotel, price was reasonable and the location fine, the whole place looked a little tired and in need of refurbishing, but then the price would probably go up!
Great value & landscaped + infinity pool
I chose this hotel for the river view & the landscaping and I wasn't disappointed. The river view room overlooks the river. The daybed at the balcony was a nice touch. Staff were friendly, warm and accommodating. Nothing like having calming sounds of a river stream to lull you to sleep. :) The food isn't bad as I've read from other reviews. It doesn't have a buffet spread but the set breakfast served were tasty. Not a 5-star hotel for sure in terms of food, but we weren't disappointed. It is a small resort with about 15 or 20 rooms (a good guess), so you won't get an over crowded pool or common areas. The pool side bar and rooftop bar are not operational. One of the barricades at the edge of the restaurant has a gaping hole that falls 2 floors. No effort was made to repair or to prevent kids from getting close.
Quiet and peaceful hotel surrounded by nature
When we stayed at Labak River, there are total 13 rooms but only 3 rooms occupied. They had 27 staff looking after entire hotel. Felt like VIP. This hotel is located beside Labak River & surrounded by nature. Its good for those who pursue peace & nature but not suitable for those looking for some shopping. It’s near to the road yet quiet & peaceful. You can’t hear the noise of vehicles from Deluxe Room (garden view). There are some steps to walk depending on which room you are staying. But good thing about this hotel is they have lift to bring you 2 floors down so that significantly reduce the number of steps. Probably walk around 20 steps to Deluxe room (with garden view) and 30+ steeps for Deluxe Room (with River View). This hotel is about 10-15 mins drive away from Ubud city. If you know how to rise motorbike, you can rent it for Rp60,000/24 hours. Much easier & convenient to move in a motorcycle. There are some resutaurants nearby between 100m-400m vacinity. Internet connection is good for normal messaging but if you watch video or play mobile game, it becomes patchy. What frustrate me is that I need to constantly log in and type username and password each time internet dropped. I log in more than 50 times in my 3 nights stay at this hotel. Service (7/10) Some improvements needed. Location: (7/10) 10-15 mins to Ubud city center Room: (9/10) The bed is comfy. Value (6/10) I feel the hotel room listed price is a bit pricy.
