We enjoyed our stay at la walon hotel, the staff are all so kind and helpful, always on hand to help with any requests. Lots of repeat guests shows everyone likes this hotel. Good position on poppies 1 with shops and eating places close by. We ate at the hotel restaraunt and all meals were good quality . Would certainly recommend.

Hidden and beautiful

We stayed at La Walon for few days. Hotel it self located very nice area. 5 minutes to walk to the beach.

Fabulous staff, very friendly will do anything for you to make your stay comfortable. A bit noisy due to building works across the road.

There are no lifts in this building so with aging ailments we struggled with the stairs in getting to our room, plus shipping and luggage.

Its not suitable for someone travelling with a very young child as even the tiny kids pool area is 1m The pool isn't very clean, im sure they do clean it but there is so much debris around that it gets into the pool I booked for 8 nights but ended up staying 2 nights because of the good location after sorting it out with hotels.com the staff were nice enough to charge me for the 2 nights and I left on great terms

I love the location it is accessible to everything,beach just few minutes walk,lot of restaurants nearby and they have restaurant and bar too,shopping area..the staffs are awesome..

Good place to stay and central

We spent the first night up on the top level and asked to upgrade to a ground room and was much happier not having to navigate the stairs after a few cold drinks. Staff made this place great happy and friendly. Rooms are tired but cheap and comfortable especially for the price. Would consider staying again only a couple of hundred meters to the beach.

La Walon Hotel is situated close to most places , beach within 100 yds. The staff are excellent , always willing to help or pass on any information, if you need anything you just need to ask and it is sorted. We had ground floor room with patio out to pool, it was great. Certain to come back..

4th time at La Walon with my 9 Year old Son for 14 Nights as always the Staff from Reception to the Cleaners and the Driver’s out the Front I find helpful and Friendly and must say the Massage girls are Very Good David and Dennis Australia We will be Back

Convenient to Kuta, excellent value for money. Yes, the hotel is 'tired' but prices do reflect that. The bar is friendly with good prices and reasonable food. The pool and areas are regularly cleaned and very pleasant to spend time aound. Staff are friendly. I would go back.

This is a hidden gem in Kuta. Very friendly staff, excellent clean rooms and grounds. Couldn't reccomend enough.

Excellent location in Poppies1 and the staff were extremely friendly. The rooms were a little dated and could do with a fresh coat of paint. Breakfast selection was very limited but adequate to start the day. In general, a pleasant stay.

Staff are wonderful but condition of hotel very poor. Rooms needs serious refurbishment. Cleanliness not a priority. Shower screens never cleaned. Linen very stained. Pool towels used and refilled. 1 staff member said only washed every 3 days?????. In saying all this staff are super friendly Would stay again if cleaned up

Great location in Poppies Lane 1, Only issue was no Taxi pick up in early hours of the morning, you have to walk down the lane to the beach. Very comfortable, good WIFI, pool clean and refreshing.

The hotel is in the bar area of Kuta and noisy till 10 pm, It’s showing it’s age and needs a bit of maintenance, but still acceptable as 3 star hotel. The food they serve is very good and value for money, it’s only 5 minutes to the beach which is great for surfing but useless for swimming.

some of the staff were very kind - others made you feel like you were disturbing their day :-( i am used to staying more closer to Melasti street and so it was quite a walk to get to melasti then walk to double six but i did it several times but dont like the walk back - too long

It is very central to the beach, restaurants, changing money. The staff in there restaurant are friendly. Food good and no tax charges . They have just measured up for new umbrellas and covers for lounges around the pool. Good size pool. They need a better system for being able to get towels for the pool area. The bed and pillows were very clean and comfy. They are re updating there bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and greeted you everY morning.

The rooms were not clean. When we first arrived, the room smelt mouldy. The sheets and towels always were stained. Was is supposed to be white sheets and towels were grey.

Started bad, ended fine

In my first room, I asked for cleaning under the bed due to a something strange in a suspicious fluid (see photo). Maybe I asked the wrong person or he didn’t understand me. Also the room was very noisy as it was across from the stairway (see photo). Changing rooms was discussed, but as I had already fully unpacked, I wanted to delay my decision until after the weekend to see if I could tolerate the room. Eventually the staircase noise diminished, but I packed up and moved to another room when the toilet began leaking putrid water. I gave an “average” rating despite the 1st horrible room because the 2nd one was fine (except for poor WiFi) and because most of the staff was great. Also because building problems are common in older urban Asian neighborhoods

Great budget hotel.

Location was great. Room was big with a balcony, kettle, fridge, 2 bottles of water, only soap in the bathroom, good aircon, wifi, kept dropping out, staff friendly, no lift only 3 levels. Breakfast was not a buffet you have a choice of 3 set meals with refillable tea, coffee or juice. Handy restaurant, nice meals, but count your change. Not flash, but great for a budget hotel, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.. I did not have a problem with noise from the bars, all quiet by 11pm

Was much better looked after 8 years ago but maintenace has fallen, internet sitting around 2-3 mbps when its available. Dead spots in the room, and you can no longer buy upgraded wifi. Therefore spending way more on 4G data and having to hotspot. Breakfast is not buffet, same 3 choices off a menu every day. At least bar menu is not plus plus and food quality was still good. The local markets are ok but run down. Wet season but rain was rarely a problem. Pool ok. Very few tourists around so locals quite desperate, much more insistent and many more money exchangers offering above bank rates to try to short change the unaware.

Got a room on a floor level. Bed was damp and smells damp too. Towels look dirty. Staff should have aired the room first before guests arrived. Extra bed was not ready when we checked in even though we checked in late at night. Toilet is old and smelt of sewerage. Breakfast were pancakes, toast, fruits and drink only.

really good hotel the staff are great my only issues are no telephone in the rooms so there is no calling for room service no. the add when I booked the hotel said buffet breakfast there is no buffet breakfast only 3 breakfast options fruit /rice or toast & jam that didn't impress me very much I just went around to Secret Garden and purchased breakfast. I would definitely stay here again

You were a bit shocked when we initially turned up with no safe in the room no telephone and just needs a little bit of upgrading the lift didn't work hasn't worked for about 10 years but after our initial shock we loved it the staff were friendly the breakfast was beautiful the pool was great would definitely stay there again

Advice: choose another hotel.

Rooms were dirty. Sheets had not been changed from last guest. Dirty, urine and blood stained. Mould in rooms. Arranged rooms not provided after email confirmation. See trip advisor reviews from many guests to confirm. Other hotels of same price much, much better.

Old tired hotel in need of some loving rooms a good size clean

Nice hotel good position. Good staff. But hotel showing its age. Shower not nice. Pool a bit dirty. Safe mot working even after fixing . Forgot to supply towels every day. Room not cleaned until mid arfternoon

Close to the buzz of Kuta

Hotel is conveniently placed and inexpensive. I think the hotel has probably suffered from some less reputable guests because they didn't give an impression of trusting me (e.g. they checked the condition of my room before check-out could be completed). If you're just after a bed for a couple of nights and aren't interested to have a more calming setting then La Walon is fine. The breakfast and the shower were the highlights.

Love this hotel......

This is a return short stay for us this time. We love coming to La Walon as it is a small inexpensive hotel with great staff. We got a ground floor room which has the basics - bed, air-conditioner, small fridge and working bathroom. The pool is refreshing and staff friendly. Breakfast is simple, not buffet style, but enough to get you through to lunchtime. Great variety of other menu items for lunch and dinner and not expensive. Only downside to our stay this time is that there was no pool attendant in the small bar area so we had to get out of the pool to get drinks. Otherwise another great stay and we will be back next year.

La Walon provides large clean rooms and facilities, staff friendly and helpful, well located close to beach, markets, transport and shopping. 24 hour security on premises. I would recommend this hotel.

Room is allways feels wet so need to turn a\c every time and bed cover was stinky and feels wet was kind of feel sticky

La Walon - gone

Seemed very old, unkept, no currency exchange, hard beds, dirty floor, smelly drains, noisy cleaning staff very early in the day, pool very slippery, had to constantly ask for towels - definitely not recommended

Service was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, Kuta has really mellowed out in the last few years, but there was still some nice action to be had in this neighborhood, family friendly, very safe.

Well located

Everything great except condition of bathroom shower. Floor tiled incorrectly , water runs away from drain and leaks onto floor. So you stand in built up water. Bath also not sealed and leaks. This has been room state for 7 years and at $120 per night probably now overpriced. Cheaper rooms with A/C better value as all facilities equally available Terrific location and pool although no evidence of pool being cleaned

Good hotel for the budget traveler

My 5th stay at this hotel, I like it because of the location, lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Staff very good, from cleaning staff to bar staff, all very friendly and welcoming. Recent stay was with family and friends to celebrate a birthday, about 20 in total, used the hotel restaurant for the party, just ordered snacks from the menu and the kitchen staff brought it out as it was needed.

First night very late check in at 2000. Told us 1800. Room not cleaned properly/hurriedly. On the positive...the best ever food! All else very good and very cheap price!!
