Dont stay if you want a good night sleep
Would not recommend, doors to other rooms and it feels like next door is in your room. Had to put a chair as i didnt feel safe..You can hear and see outside (no blackout curtians or double glazing so you also feel like your on the road!)
Good place to stay for a couple of days. Staff are friendly and metro is nearby.
A quirky cool hotel
An interesting place. The design is like a construction site sort of. But it’s comfortable. Price was pretty decent, it’s a pretty short walk to a couple different metro stations. The neighbourhood felt very safe. Friendly staff and the wifi worked well. If I had one complaint it was a lack of power outlets in the room. The only accessible one was in the bathroom. It was also a little cold but there was an AC unit that I assume does heat as well, I like sleeping in the cold so they didn’t bother me.
Reception staff were excellent and helpful room cleaners perfect.
Good budget hotel with good travel connections.
If you are looking for a North American or North European glass and stainless steel chain hotel do not go for this one. However if you are looking for good value, cleanliness, a safe area and good travel connections then this is a good choice. It is in a modern building though some of the decor and windows do need upgrading. The decor has tried to achieve an ‘industrial vibe’ which is better in concept than execution. Previous guests have not been complimentary about the breakfast. It comprises of a hot drink, a fruit juice, a substantial piece of toast with either jam or tomato salsa and a piece of sponge cake which was moist and tasty. For us it was adequate. If you wanted more you could join the passing locals and buy some other pastries and a hot drink from the bar. Evening meals start at 8pm Mon - Fri, which was too late for us but the menu looked to be good value the meals we observed being served looked well presented. No evening bar or restaurant on Sat or Sun. Travel connections: take line 8 from the airport, change on to Line 9 at Columbia and it’s one stop to Pio XII. If you exit the station following signs for Manuel Montilla the hotel is 250 metres away on the corner of the next junction. If you follow signs for Centro Commerciale (an excellent ‘Al Campo’ supermarket) it is a 400m walk. The area has broad open streets and is the home to a number of embassies- the Indian Embassy is next door. A visible but low level police presence adds to a feeling of security.
Great location
Very clean, friendly staff and great location just know that if you pay extra to have breakfast included it will be the same every day, no options
Rugby trip
A great place to stay near a metro station and supermarket really enjoyed my stay would recommend this place to people
Clean, si.ple but very cozy. Nuce terrace area in our room
The hotel has a construction theme that works. Clean and functional.
Very helpful staff.
The walls and ceiling looked unfinished. The hallway had furniture stacked in one corner. However, room and bed very clean. Staff was helpful and attentive. Food was good.
Lugar perfecto si tienes un vuelo temprano desde Madrid. Queda cerca del metro y se llega al centro en media hora, y en taxi se llega a Barajas en menos de 10 minutos. Lugar muy limpio y staff muy amigable. Recomendado
A great little friendly hotel!
It’s not a luxury hotel but it’s clean and friendly and feels safe. The rooms are basic but fine for an affordable trip. The staff are absolutely brilliant, they were so helpful, kind and generous. They made us very welcome and really made our trip so much better and easier. I’d definitely stay here again. Also close to the metro and quiet. The other guests were very quiet and we were not disturbed by any noise etc which is unusual in a hotel.
Greats place
Best hotel
I had stayed here on 29 April and submitted a summary survey. Let me add something to my original survey response. -The continential breakfast was wanting. All of the lodging facilities I stayed at during my Camino had exceptional continential breakfasts. -It would be a good customer service if the tv channels provided at least 1 English language selection. English is the international travel language and so I am sure your customers would be appreciative. Thank you.
I like that hotel because you have a small supermarket close to the hotel and it was a metro and an stop bus close to the hotel The only thing that i didn’t like it was the A/C was hot and the WiFi connection too slow
The staff on hotel is not good, you can't trust. We lose a personal item
I was just staying overnight, on my way to begin my Camino this year, so my only reason to stay in Madrid was to rest and continue on the next morning on the 0745 train to Santander. Which is why I selected the Posada de la Chaflan. It was within walking distance and a 10€ taxi ride of the Charmart train station. Which is a good marketing tool for you. The female clerk and night manager/cook did a superior job. Very attentive and worked very hard to communicate with me, since I have failed to learn Spanish. I also have a reservation at the Posada de la Chaflan 13-16, on my return journey to Germany. So I look fprward to my stay.
Very nice

The staff are too good.
Clean and cosy
Clean, good value for money and in a good location. Staff friendly and professional.
We arrived early at 6:30 AM from an 8 hr flight and the registration was not until 2:30 PM. We requested a place where we could rest and they showed us a table with chairs outside by the road. We asked if they could us, but very rude manager basically said it was our problem. We then proceeded to leave to the train station towards San Sebastián. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone
Excelente todo
No pictures matched
This wasn’t the hotel in the pictures, might. Not even be a legal hotel.. the bed walls might stand cabinet and shower were plywood … or clear plastic my room connected to another maybe original 2 bdrm apt which wss divided recently as everything from jerking off to morning dump plus all the pipes had been foam sprayed to hide them but looked l like support beams but either on side of my head sounded like water coming down them Shelving wss glide to the mirror Staff friendly , but I m sure this was is a hooker tel as it is between embassy’s - no pictures matched
omg never had this happening to me before will not recommend this place as however , looked to like I was in a sinkhole , had to leave and book another hotel for sure
Close to main attractions
Pricey for the amount of amenities they offer.
The staff was very friendly and helpful
Very quirky decor but superb position for metro station.
It is terrible. I don't think the can pass a surprise inspection....
Very nice place, Location was good next to metro for acces to the rest of Madrid. Room was clean and simple.
No hot water...........................................????.
The toilet was built in the same room and had no roof. I.e. the whole room would stink if one person was using the toilet. The corridors and elevator had stained carpets. Room was extremely small. Dry wall board was not even painted. Maybe that was the style the decorator was looking for. Everything worked though. I don't recommend this hotel. It was not cheap either. Paid 75+ dollars for one night.
Unique and Budget-friendly
We stayed in a twin room, we chose 1 big bed instead of two separate ones. The room was neat although dated. One thing we won’t forget about it was the toilet and bath. It has a door but it doesn’t cover all the way to the ceiling, meaning it’s like a box with an open top. The other thing is that the bath was literally beside the bed and the ‘wall’ of the bath was made from a plastic material which somehow shows your silhouette when you’re inside. I’m not sure though if all rooms have the same rustic style, which we somehow liked. I just think it’s a good place if you’re going with family or as a couple so that privacy wouldn’t be an issue. The property is budget-friendly. You get what you pay for. Smooth check-in and check-out. The bus stop is just across the street, the metro is a few minutes away. Overall, it was okay.
Thumbs up!
Best location for the price for a soccer match at the Santiago bernabeu. Front desk was amazing with their service!
Go again
Stayed here before.good value for price. Good breakfast. A bit of traffic in the morning but it is Madrid. Staff very nice.will use again.
the worst
terrible shower setup was joke unfriendly and unhelpful
Not the best looking room.
The hotel has a great location, however the room has bare chipped wood and looked like some shanty looking room. The floor was coming apart and the A/C in my room was located in such a weird position the remote wouldn’t work unless you had it at a specific angle.
Do not book.
Very very dirty and unkept hotel.
Basic hotel
Very basic hotel. If you need a bed for the night and nothing else then it’s fine . On the next morning of my stay the toilet started leaking :( It was very quiet in the hotel while I was there, very few guests and on a Saturday afternoon I had to ring a bell to get in.
Would not recommend
Bedroom smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that they had to come and spray the air with air freshener. Bathroom was made with unfinished wood and plastic roofing. Cold water did not work so we were unable to shower first night. Had to complain and they came to fix it the next day. Sink was so small that water splashed on floor when you brushed your teeth or washed your face. Headboard and closet were also made with unfinished wood. Light above bed did not work. Wall mural looked like black mold.
Close to the Metro Station. Good price. Kind Staff. I would have liked to have access to an ice bucket.
Not really recommendable
Very small rooms , everything in the room a little bit outdated, location good, a lot of noise from other rooms..... resuming not really recommendable if you some EUR more to spend.... for two people this is not an option due to sizing
It was okay
Okay. Friendly staff. Room was extremely strangely made up but clean enough. Fish smoking a cigarette on the wall. Perspex bathroom but it was only a place to get my head down for a night so it was okay.
Convenient for a short stay
The Champions League final was the next day, but I still paid £80 which was not a bad price, when other hotels were much more expensive. I just needed a bed for the night. So it did what I needed, people were reasonably helpful, although when I asked for directions, they didn’t know much about buses and trains, but eventually with some persistence they gave the information.
Poor levels of service vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
Very ordinary. Cramped, bar service slow, bar not open on Saturday...not worth 160 euro for 2 nights.
Budget hotel at its worst
Very basic, couldn’t get Wi-fi, toilet was in the bedroom
AWFUL STAY
The hotel Posada will need to make an improvement regarding their breakfast in the morning (it was my first time to experience this type of service that was not good at all) The bathroom separated with the bedroom by plastic sheets like we were in India or Africa. The agent at the reception want to bring you the breakfast . In the different hotels, you can access your breakfast by yourself ,choose your croissant, bread ,butter or orange juice by yourself. you don't need an agent to bring only one glass of orange juice for you. The towels ,blanket with different stains (color red or orange on it). They will take an amount of 74.26 from your debit or credit card as proof to protect your place in the hotel before you put your 2 feet in their hotel. The location of this hotel is very closer to Subway station PIO XII Station,so easy to take the metro...that's the only thing that i like.
Nice people, friendly place, but very basic room. Cold, damp air and the street outside is very noisy.
Decent place to stay for a night. The place could do with a bit of tender loving care but overall for the price no complaints. John
Disappointed
No hot water smell bad
As basic as you can get in Madrid
Hotel is located outside the main tourist area so you need to walk about 2 blocks to subway. The first night the cold water did not work (yes I said cold) so scorching hot shower Too tired to complain so next morning they fixed it immediately. I believe a valuve was turned off. Rooms are "Primitive" Shower is made from construction galvinived roofing and unfinished Bathroom quite small But price was cheap and breakfast was good
Nice place for the price
Excellent place! Restaurant on site, Close to Metro and bus stations. Very friendly personal
It was close to everything the location was amazing
Dirty
Good breakfast Near supermarket, transit Rooms a little unusual, ok for a couple days.
Funky, arty budget hotel
This is a basic & artistic budget hotel: vibrant, quirky colours, artwork painted on the room walls (I had eyes & glasses looking at me); desk & headboard were made of cork, bathroom was encased in corrugated plastic.... My room (314) had a great view of the beautiful Four Towers. Unique & unusual place, I loved it. But if you want 4 star comfort, this is not your place. The staff are middle aged & formal; they speak very little English, but enough to get by, just about. Which doesn't quite match the hotel's vibe. The area is quiet & residential, with many embassies (the hotel is next door to the Indian embassy). There are easy bus & metro connections to the city centre. Pio XII metro station is 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. There is a huge supermarket nearby; turn left from the hotel, walk about 10 mins, just past the metro. The hotel is about 30+ mins walk from the Bernebeau, a bit less from Chamartin Station. If it's your first time in Madrid, I'd recommend staying in the city centre, but if you've been here a few times, it's interesting to explore new areas. As for breakfast; I ordered the house special. Some items weren't fresh. I didn't eat those, but still got an upset stomach from what I did eat. Stick to the pastries on display, don't order off the menu. I'd have given the hotel 5 stars were it not for this.
Hotel is clean and with air conditionning, some features in the room are getting old. Rooms are made on the basis of a "raw construction basis", you may like it or not like it. Probably not a hotel I would book for my boss :-) but for me it was fun. One good point : breakfast was really nice !
Low price good quality. Very clean
Great staff and worth the money paid.
Toilet /washroom dorr
Good room to stay good location everything is close by
The location was good for the northern Charmartin station. In the nice area, staff very nice!
Good for one night. Easy to get to the airport
Rooms not very well insulated from each other. Neighbors very noisy. Shower faucet needs maintenance.
Business hotel? Not for tourists!
8 day stay, 2 consecutive days room not cleaned, 3rd day had to change room! Duty receptionist most unhelpful! Cafe - Bar/restaurant/ground floor terrace closed to guests over weekends, never got a response as to why. Cafe - bar staff superb. With a little more effort and customer service by the receptionist could almost have been reasonable!
Good airport overnight stop
Stayed here as it is very easy to get to the airport on the Metro and easy to get in to Madrid. Got there 12 pm, the desk guy was polite and helpful. Hotel is quirky (in a good, fun way), post industrial hip decor, yellow corridors. Room was also quirky (again in a good, fun way). It was clean and tidy, nice to get in and relax after traveling. Felt comfortable and clean.
The hotel is located near Chamartín station and the airport is not too far away. Low expectations judging by the reviews I had seen, but exceeded expectations, clean room, comfortable, reasonably priced on s night when aĺl rooms in Madrid were extremely overpriced because of a football final. Quite good.
Dirty
DIRTY horrible place to stay No internet Never back
Nothing good to write about, avoid
Nothing good to write about, avoid
Bizarre result of miserly ownership
Weird, corrugated plastic walls to bathroom in your bedroom and without a ceiling. Unclean at the edges, unclean duvets. Same crappy breakfast every day, yesterday's sent out again. Carpet, paint and lighting show that owners are misers. Can't blame the staff who were nice themselves.
Very small
One of the two beds was very unconfortable, the bathroom really small, it was impossible washing your face in that sink without spreading all the water outside. And from my point of view, didn't seem very clean.
Dump
On arrival the entry and reception looked like it was in dire need of a makeover. Looked very tired. Staff didn't show or tell us about any of the facilities or even give us any direction on where to find the lift to then find our room. When trying to shower the shower only did scorching hot and nothing else and only came out from one of the two heads which looked like it was about to fall off. If anyone has watched Fawlty Towers they could draw many comparisons from it.
Not what I had been hoping...
The first thing I noticed was that the hotel was in a very quiet and nice area (next to a few embassies) along a main road. It was easy to get to via subway. The lobby isn't your traditional lobby (just a small desk off of a restaurant area). When checking in, you are provided two remotes (tv & a/c) along with the room key but no wifi is provided. The room itself was decent, however the beds left a lot to be desired in terms of comfort and cleanliness of the blankets. There is no extra lock or peephole in the door which is a bit of a safety issue I wasn't comfortable with. The safe in the room was inoperable and the instructions provided did not fix the problem. Table in the room was broken and could not be used, and the floor in the bathroom area was chipping so if you didn't watch your step or put the floor cloth over the affected area you could end up with some unfortunate scrapes. The room itself looks as if they are trying to be a bit artsy, and I get the idea, but it looks like it wasn't fully completed or they gave up along the way. Making doors/dividers out of woodchips isn't exactly the best idea. Overall, tt was alright for a one night stay but I wouldn't stay here again unless serious improvements were made.
Crude Accommodations
The property was a dump. I'm not even sure it should be categorized as a hotel, but instead some sort of a hostel. It was deceiving from all the information I read about it. I was very upset and disappointed at this choice. I had to change rooms initially, and even then- I was glad it was for one night only. It was crude accommodations. I could not understand the attraction when the staff informed me it was "sold out"- I imagine the USA and Madrid are on different scales of comfort.
Old hotel near Chamartin Station
Small, old and very thin walls, ceiling and everthing. Besides de location near the Chamartin Train Station, I don't recommend it at all, review other options .
Shower construction an attraction itself.
I like the hotel. The room small but comfy, nice bed and especially the shower construction was amazing, never seen it build that way - very interesting.
Not good
Not clean bad service get me alrgia bathroom not good dirty room they didn't clean the room and didn't change the sheets .......................
Convenient Dirty hotel with tiny badly decorated r
It was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and how you allow it on your site is beyond belief. The room was dirty with hair on the blankets and in the shower and the room was dirty with mildew and dirt on the window frames. The room is too small and the furniture is appalling. Never again would I venture near this establishment. I should have known from the outset as all the carpets in the entrance hall are filthy and the same along the corridor. The fact that they keep the remote control for the TV and the AC behind the Porters desk tells a lot about the clientele that normally use it.
Basic but interesting
We got what we paid for. Staff and locals friendly. Decor unusual. Coffee excellent.
My stay was good hotel was different. but good breakfast was great staff very nice. bed very comfortable. Early traffic a bit loud. Great for price
The location is convenient but the room was small, dark, not really accessible for a wheelchair and hadn't been refurbished in a while. The hotel was doing some work on the water pipes and so, there was no hot water on the third day.
Convenient
Not so goid
The Staff at La Posada del Chaflan was outstanding. They treat you like family. The rooms are clean and very comfortable.
Nice, quirky hotel
Nice, quirky hotel. Liked the in-room safe and free wifi. Shower easily flooded, though. Few restaurants in the area, unfortunately, but a big supermarket is within close walking distance (Alcampo). Central Madrid just a subway ride away.
Good hotel, convenient to chamartin station.
Good hotel close to city centre
Nice rooms and very friendly staff breakfast was good at the restaurant. Over all experience excellent
Just something interesting...
A kind of interesting stay, because the room was just a little crazy. The design style that they chose was just funny at the start, but then became a little creepy. But the room was perfectly fine for a good night sleep.
Boa
Altamente recomendado

Great place for solo travellers
Clean, comfortable room, excellent for 1 person. The washroom is a bit see-through, so might not be that comfortable for friends who share a room. The hotel is close to two subway lines, and has a nice restaurant downstairs with a very decent “menu del día”, which is a lunch with a few set options. Highly recommend this place, I am here for the second time.
