TLDR: Solo traveling woman. Definitely would stay again. And I highly recommend Ive been to PR a few times. This time I wanted to be more in the center of things while staying relatively affordable. I feel that La Mona Loíza did just that. Simple accommodations, the place was clean and cute. Centrally located. I could walk to condado and Old San Juan & isla verde were less than a 10 min ride away. Plenty of eateries on Calle Loíza and the apartment complex is right near a 24 hr grocery store. Really you can’t beat the location and price. Staff were helpful. I arrived early and while they couldn’t do an early check in they were able to lock my things in the office so I could explore while I waited. I travelled solo and stayed in a 1 bed suite with the kitchenette. Plenty of space for me. Also the main entrance door locks and requires a code to open so that made me feel secure once I entered the building.

Property is close to everything and its safe area

Apartment was clean, but lacked conveniences both in the common areas and wothin the so called apartment. Not much.good to say.

Clean property , I didn’t read throughly there’s no TV in the bedroom , balcony was big and spacious but full of poop which they made clear they have “no control of” . The water wasn’t very hot and was very very light

Gem 💎 on Calle Loiza

Lovely place to stay right on Calle Loiza with everything you would want within walking distance. It’s also a short direct bus ride from SJU. Bedding was comfortable, bathroom was clean, very quiet at night and safe. I would definitely return 😊

Not far from the airport, easy for Uber drivers to find and a convenient supermarket around the corner.

Not comfortable room and bathroom

The good thing about this place is location. Rooms are very small and the bathroom is tiny. The bathroom door was hard to close. Check out at 10… should be at 11 because the check in time is at 4 pm

Great location and accommodation

Loved the location of this accommodation! Super convenient to walk to the beach, restaurants and a 24 hour grocery store. Complex is secure; with a locked door accessible via access code. The little courtyard with small pool, lounge chairs and tables was perfect for relaxing. The air conditioning unit in the room worked wonderfully. The little touches in the room were great too: soap, lotion, shampoo, coffee, etc. Plenty of towels for me and all linens were clean. I interacted with multiple members of the staff and they were al super nice and helpful. Communication before and during the stay was perfect.

Great location with just a short walk to the beach. It was safe, easy to navigate and the self- check in was clear and easy. Room was great and just what we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

The check in process was flawless, codes were sent by email on the morning of check in for the front door, and for the safety box containing the unit keys, by the unit door, everything worked like a charm. Convenient location with a supermarket across the street and many dining options within a couple of minutes walking, five minutes walk to the beach for a morning or an evening walk. Parking is ok, for seven days/nights we were always able to park, may be we had to circle the block once or twice but at the end we parked our rental vehicle without any issues every single time. The apartment was super clean when we arrived, smelling fresh and nice. It included basic necessities, nothing fancy but all what a couple would need. whenever we needed something, extra towels, refilling of soap dispenser, we called the posted number and within 20-30 minutes, room service showed up with the needed items, I give it 10/10 without any reservations. A few suggestions that would have made me give 11/10: 1- A hook in the bathroom to hang the clothes on while taking a shower. 2-A kettle, the coffee maker is nice but there are some tea people out there :) .

Clean and comfy. A little confusing to find room, but once you figure it out it’s not an issue. Only real complaint is parking, be prepared to pay for parking in the garage.

The bathroom was superbly clean and had everything I needed. I liked the clear instructions for self check-in as my flight was pretty late.

What's not to like? everything is clean, easy walk to restaurants, beach and groceries. Room was exactly as illustrated in the photos. Staff was awesome! So many other places in the price range seemed to have numerous issues/ bad reviews, but not here! It was nice to find a place worth booking again on return from our cruise.

Wow!!! Clean and modern. Close to walking to shops, grocery, beach, and dining options. The staff treat you like family and help with all your needs. We will come back in a heartbeat! The best thing to do is park on Calle Marias. It will be free as parking at the Gallery Shops is very expensive. Enjoy future travelers!

Decent Place for a Short Stay, But Some Issues

I recently spent a short trip in San Juan and booked this place last minute. The neighborhood was decent and not too far from main attractions. The place itself was small, but suitable for a short stay. Check-in was smooth, but our room wasn't ready when we arrived. Unfortunately, it rained one night, and the ceilings started leaking. I slipped on the stairs, and there were no caution signs. Luckily, I'm okay. The biggest issue was the noise. Our neighbors next door were extremely rowdy, fighting for hours, and breaking glass. It took a while for the police to arrive. The thin walls and lack of soundproofing made it difficult to rest. Overall, this place was decent for a short trip, but the issues mentioned above prevent me from giving it a higher rating. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option for a short stay, this might be okay, but be aware of the potential drawbacks.

Best value in SJU

The apartment is cozy and you have everything you need for your stay, plus.. this located nearby restaurants, supermarket, and just five minutes (walking) from the beach. The staff pretty friendly and they resolved the issues very quickly. At checkout they should have a place for luggage to store, since check out is really early (10am)

My home away from home!

Absolutely loved my stay in this suite in Puerto Rico! From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The suite was stunning—spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered breathtaking views. It was also so easy to find, which made my arrival stress-free. I truly appreciated the sense of safety throughout the entire stay, which allowed me to relax and fully enjoy the experience. The location was perfect, and everything I needed was nearby. I can't wait to return! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

Room was very small, but clean. Pictures are not accurate. No parking as advertised. Very limited street parking or pay for parking in garage which was pricy. Lobby and stairwell smelled of cat urine. Wifi cut out very often. Mosquitoes kept getting in the room despite doors and windows being closed. Pool was comically small. Patio chairs were dirty. Very limited hot water for shower that was luke warm. Would not stay there again.

Where to begin so many good qualities that would make too long on the list but first and foremost you cannot have a better location. Also, clean modern, inviting ,warm, very spacious rooms. Followed by a great excellent customer service always there for any question very empathic understanding, management. You have a plethora of places to eat around you that are excellent. And of course, if you want to hit the beach, it is just less than 4 minutes, walking. I strongly recommend the property then I cannot wait to return!

On a positive note, the apartment was a nice size for a 1-bedroom! Close to a grocery store, restaurants and limited shopping. The staff was quick to respond to any request. Negatives would be the limited hot water, our terrace door was VERY difficult to close (a lizard was able to get in) and the $50 fee/hour for a late check out.

We enjoyed our stay at La Mona Loiza Apartments. The location was very convenient to walk to destinations from as well as get picked up by Uber for short distance site seeings. The apartment is nicely decorated; however, the sofa and chair in my unit #12 need to be cleaned prior to having guest stay there it was not clean when we arrived. The bed was cleaned nicely and the rest of the apartment was cleaned, but we did not feel comfortable sitting on the sofa or chair due to us seeing the dirt on the fabrics. Secondly, there was no hot water in our apartment, so we had to shower in pretty cold water. I requested to have the water adjusted and that was ignored. Thirdly the tv in the bedroom did not work properly to stream any applications via the internet to watch and it did not pick up local channels either. We kept receiving an error message in regard to sourcing and wiring. Overall the apartment is a nice apartment if you don't mine walking up 3 flights of stairs and loud music at night from the club right next door. I would hope management would clean it better for a future guest and adjust the water temperature for showering comfortably.

Very spacious apartment in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood close to the main road where many shops and restaurants are. Easy to walk to many of them. Beds were very comfortable. Showers spacious and clean. Provided amenities are excellent.

I love e that the property was clean. It was in a very convenient location and acomodaciones were made where possible. I did not like that there was no soap or shampoo or Condition we in the bathroom or at the funk when we arroces as well as the Area is very busy and some times the trucks and cars passkng would wake us in the front room. Will definitely stay again despiste the challenges you accomodated us and made up for the mishaps which made our stay ever so pleasant

Location is nearby to everything. Concado, piñones, Santurce and old San Juan. There is a Supermax open 24 hrs across the street.

Property was so cute and comfortable! The price was reasonable and the property was nicer than I expected. Everything was very clean. Parking was a little difficult when we first arrived, but no issues after that. We would definitely stay here again!

The place is nice and clean but I feel like it was false advertisement I thought I was going to get a full size living room and it was only two bedrooms with a kitchen I think the pictures have to be split it apart and put together with the exact apartment I did not expect to just have a straight kitchen to two rooms also the toilet takes very long to flush the shower takes long to get to the proper temperature when it goes from hot to cold

The room was quiet and the air conditioner worked well. The location is walkable to the beach, restaurants and a supermarket. Do not park in the garage directly across the street. It is VERY expensive.

The room we stayed in was very spacious and nice. Very close to the beach and other restaurants. I would say there is a lot of rust in the shower, that was my only problem but ac and hot water worked fine.

Everything was so close, the spa, the beach, a bunch of eating spots that are amazing would definitely recommend in a great area! Would definitely book again next time I come to PR

I really enjoyed staying at this property. It was very clean and spacious. There were many different walkable options in this area for the beach, supermarket, and dining! The host responded very fast to all my messages. I wouldn’t definitely stay with this host again in the future!
