Wonderful view great staff
Close to bus station which is a plus. Beautiful views from our balcony.
Nice hotel convenient to restaurants and beach. Good place to stay several days because of the kitchen facilities
Comfortable bed, great location- fairly easy walk to restaurants in Villefranche-sur-Mer and easy drive to other locations in the area. Beautiful view from breakfast patio. Downside was a bad smell in the room each time we came back- think it is some type of plumbing issue.
Very clean, comfortable, incredible view of the harbor from large balcony and very nice breakfast. Added bonus, steps away from top notch bus service to Nice, Monaco or Cap Ferrat.
A very lovely hotel with a great staff. My single concern and the reason I did not rate this property higher was my room selection. I was given two choices and chose the room with a whirlpool tub and a balcony. My decision was based on photos provided. However the photos provided appeared to be from a room on the upper floor. I was given a room with a whirlpool tub and a tiny balcony two floors lower. Although the view was good, the higher floor would have had an even better view with a larger balcony.
Amazing
This place is a hidden gem. It was perfect for our family of four. The view is amazing. The breakfast was great. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the harbor, beach and shops but worth it . Very flexible with leaving our car after check out. I highly recommend this place as a stop on your vacation if you are road tripping through the French Riviera.
We really wanted a refrigerator for cheese and wine. There was little room in each room but a joint refrigerator in the lounge would surely be possible. The bar was not well attended, and coul provide space. Everything else about the hotel and pool was well done and charming.
Ac needed amazing hotel
Everybody was extremely lovely. The hotel was lovely. The people working there were really nice except the air conditioning could’ve been better. We were extremely hot in the hotel room. The AC was from like the 1980s. It could’ve been better. They could’ve had a refrigerator in the room but other than that it was absolutely perfect. The location was lovely. It had great parking and amazing view comfortable beds, but just better AC.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a very nice option, with a great view. The location is right near a bus to Nice that came every 15 min. We hoped for two twin beds but that was not available. We got one queen instead. So if this is a necessity, know that it may not happen.
Our view was amazing, loved relaxing by the pool, the price was right. Great place to stay in Villefranche!
Beautiful view off the balcony!!!
Amazing location with a great view.
The view!
Overcharged. Sparse amenities.
Convenient location, close to market. Amenities are so sparse. No shampoo nor conditioner for hair, just body wash. Stairs without handle on one side + narrow stair planks are unsafe. Bathroom shower is open, no enclosure; water splashed everywhere. Totally overcharged for what it is. Not good value. Disapointed.
The view from our room was so very beautiful! The on-site breakfast was a nice touch too. A very lovely place with kind staff.
Hotel La Flore is a beautiful property with an amazing view and nice balconies to enjoy quiet mornings or evenings. It was very walkable to all of the dining locations and swimming areas. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was affordable and very good!
Wonderful hotel in an amazing location with an awesome view over Villefranche sur mer! We had the best time here!
The hotel and staff are so kind and amazing and the area is quite beautiful. There is many things to do and it’s only a short drive away from Old Nice. I highly recommend staying here but NOT booking through Expedia. We booked this hotel on May 10th, with a receipt saying we were charged on May 10th. Our expectation was we pay the remaining balance at the hotel but upon arrival, found out that the hotel had not yet charged us for the first night despite the Expedia platform telling me the first night had been paid for. Hotel la flore was 10/10 but book directly through the hotel!
Pleasant stay with parking
Good stay, helpful staff and walkable to the old town. Parking too....
Excellent little family-run hotel, pristine cleanliness and a very nice area and fenced yard around. Superb location, a few steps down from the beach and a nearby bus stop to Nice. Highly recommend!
Heavenly
A beautiful location and very friendly and helpful staff
Fantastic stay
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. From the great location to the lovely quiet pool area we could not have asked for more. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Hôtel had a 3 star rating on the sign with the hotel’s name. It’s really wonderful. I would say it’s a 4 star hotel with its beautiful water view!
Great spot for exploring the town. Towels for beach or pool provided. Comfortable with air conditioning.
Its a beautiful property with panoramic views. Its walkable to the port with lots of shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.
You pay for the view which is spectacular! Room was very basic but the toilet seat was broken as was one of the faucets. The location is excellent to get to the beach.
Great location. Clean and comfortable Wonderful views
The property was clean and well maintained but the proximity of the hot tubs to reach other was a problem. Folks kept me awake because of their late night hot tub chatter and laughter. Also I felt nickeled and dimed. I can’t believe they charge for plates and kitchen ware.
Hard bed
Bed was very hard and unconfortable everything else was good.
I had a one night stay in La Flore. Lovely family run resort in a beautiful town. The staff were extremely accommodating and allowed me to stay by the pool after checkout. The accommodation needs modernisation but is extremely comfortable and clean. The view from the room was incredible
Great location! Fantastic views from balcony overlooking the harbor.
It is a very nice property. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, convenient and a good value. They changed for parking which was not advertised and disappointing
The hotel is right off the main road into town with free parking, a major plus. The view from the patio was stunning. But the hotel is quite a ways from the harbor for dining and shopping options, so it is either a long walk down and back up, or you have to drive and pay to park to be near the action. The hotel is very secure, though we felt we were checking into a penitentiary - staff was not particularly welcoming, even our child had to present his passport, and the thick plexiglass barrier at the front desk was especially off-putting. We had a family suite, and while the main bedroom had a door, the double room did not, which meant the bathroom was basically in that room and awkward to use. The bathroom was nicely upgraded, though not sure why a double shower in a family suite. And a tiny separate room for the toilet which was basically an echo chamber next to the open second bedroom. There was a notice on the desk "strictly no eating in room" which again made us feel like we weren't welcome guests but nuisances who must behave. (Btw There was a half-consumed box of cookies atop the armoire left by a previous guest and overlooked by the cleaning crew.) The hotel has many pluses but if we are ever to return, we will choose a location closer to the harbor and with a more welcoming feel.
The proprietors were very welcoming and helpful. La Flore is beautifully situated. Breakfasts were delicious with a fabulous view of Villefranche harbour. Wifi was sketchy but did not diminish our 5-night stay. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we look forward to staying again.
It is a very secure and well located hotel with easy access to shopping and restaurants. A hot water teapot would be great in the rooms for those who like an early cup of coffee or tea! We loved our stay here.
Comfortable and friendly.
Lovely hotel, perfect location, friendly staff. The air conditioning in the room worked well. The only negative is that upon arrival the pool was closed & we couldn't access our room. After trying to organise our things to take to the beach we were finally allowed to access our room. When we returned from the beach the pool was open & being used. We decided to make use of the pool the following day, only to be told that the pool would be closed, again, the following day until 1pm. We only had three days & chose this hotel because it had a pool. Two of the three days it was either difficult or not possible to access the pool. Apart from that it was a comfortable & friendly hotel.
Clean and convenient place
the staff were so friendly. smiling from the inside. fairly fluent in English. it was a joy to stay there!
We have stayed at La Flore several times and have always found it a very welcoming small hotel.
We had our own private hot tub. Delightful breakfast room. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. They let us in our room early which we really appreciated. It is very close to the bus stop and TI. Very good view from some rooms.
Very clean facility. We did not use but has a pool. Views were awesome from the balcony. Safe location and close to village and everything you would need from pharmacy to small grocery store.
Good location about 8min walk to the harbour down hill.
September in Cote d'azur
First room we tried was small and would have been difficult to unpack suitcase but second room which was sea view was bigger and more suitable
A good spot
A nice hotel with friendly staff in a good location. Could do with modernising a bit but the charm is still there.
Great get away close to village centre
Friendly quiet hotel very close to the beach and village centre. All rooms have a little terrace which is an added bonus! Swimming pool is facing the sea, free carpark is also very handy
Really enjoyed our stay here. The 100 bus can be caught close to the hotel and will take you into Monaco. We used this place as a launching point to see Monaco and nearby Rothschild mansion. The children loved the room layout upstairs/downstairs and the view of the ocean is pleasing. Pool was nice as well. Enjoyed it with the kids. The staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be. The restaurants in VillFranche were excellent. We enjoyed eating down by the waterfront the first night and the views food and service of the the Versailles restaurant next door. Free parking was a great plus as well. Can't go wrong here!
A very pleasant hotel in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Our rooms and balcony overlooked the bay. The staff are lovely. The pool is small but very nice. We had 7 nights there and really enjoyed it.
Rooms are very small but compensated for by balcony with spectacular views across the bay.
Hotel was nice-good views from the balcony-town of Villa Franc was disappointing
We were very happy with La Flore. It was a reasonably priced, comfortable room with a brilliant view of the bay and is within walking distance of the old town of Villefranche-sur-Mer. The staff were delightful and helpful. And it has parking!! A real bonus if you have a car.

Stunning blue-water view of the bay, the peninsula and the surrounding massifs as long as you choose one of the sea-facing rooms. Balconies are small but the environment is vast and the silence is seldom broken. The lights inexplicably stopped working when we threw the wrong switch, so we had to wait out the return of the morning light, which is more than enough to fill the small but well-appointed and otherwise impeccable interior. The WiFi signup was a bit wonky but I didn't really give it a serious try because we only stayed the one night, so for all I know it could be fantastic. Breakfast buffet has the same stunning view and the offerings and staff are second to none.
Amazing Hotel, highly recommend it. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful on all accounts, the rooms are spotless and have everything you need. Everyone was taken care of, and the ambiance provided a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Truly exceptional people!u
Lovely hotel near the sights. The views are picturesque.
The hotel is a very decent 3 star hotel. Some of rooms are cheaper and basic but some are more expensive and charming. The hotel is personally owned and run, which is nice. Pool good for location and 3 stars. Breakfasts are perfect and the breakfast lady is a superstar. Overall satisfied and would visit again. Recommend the 2-storied family rooms w great balconies!
Great place
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Beautiful view!
Location is good if you want to catch a bus to Nice or Monaco. There is a local beach about 20 minute walk from hotel. Be prepared to climb and descend hills as everything falls toward the water. I did not find all of the staff particularly friendly. No free breakfast.
Great staff, very helpful and friendly.
Terrific place in wondrous part of the world!
Michelle and Dany were both awesome and helped to make the entire experience even better. This is a pre-wedding trip and Michelle upgraded us to a room with a view, which was greatly appreciated! We were surprised there was no refrigerator or microwave at these prices but she brought ice buckets and the area is great. Dany makes breakfast a treat. The area speaks for itself, of course!
Great location, staff very friendly
Hotel staff was very friendly, and helpful. Great views from terrace.
Lovely town but disappointing hotel
Although this is a 3 star hotel there is no real excuse for the deficiencies. Air-conditioning just never worked and wifi was hopeless. The staff were friendly enough but we didn't complain as it was a short stay and we weren't in the room more than to sleep. The room was very small and the bathroom tiny. All told, not the best hotel experience
Very nice stay
We stayed on 2nd floor and windows are loft windows. Beds are twins moved together to make a double even if you book double that is what you get. You have to hold the shower to wash. There is a fixing on the wall but only for storage. Lovely pool, great location to walk to harbour and beach - takes about 15mins Would stsy hete again Thank you
Pretentious hotel with rude and incompetent staff
I have just completed a three night stay and in spite of other readers glowing reviews my experience was far from good. The location of the La Flore is superb. Looking out on the Villefranche bay, Room 14 was good. I noticed ash in the ashtray that lay on the table on the balcony. The room looked clean but there was something not quite right about the two single beds held together. My side of the mattress was overspilling. I complained and the very attentive short lady said she would sort it. We went out and came back to a cleaned room with a double mattress set on the same two single beds!!!! This time the overhang was alarming, but by this time two nights had elapsed. My worst experience at the hotel was with the non existent Wifi but also the extremely insulting way that the front office lady named Michelle hit back at me with a rude and insulting personal remark. From the day of check in to the day of check out there was zero Wifi. I booked through Hotels.com and asked them to escalate my complaint to the owners of the 'La Flore'. This lady commented in a loud, combative voice: "we were fully booked for over two weeks, and you are the one guest who has complained of lack of Wifi!!!!" In other words she was calling me a liar. She made me run upstairs to room 14 and get my Macbook Pro so that I could prove to her that there was no internet. I have 3 browsers on my Macbook, Apple's Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox. No apology, no remorse. A sorry experience
Good Stay
We were made to feel very welcome at reception and were able to check in early. The weather was a little chilly, so we wanted the aircon on heat, but, it didn't work in the two rooms that we had. The owner/manager came to resolve it straight away and was unable to fix it herself, so, they asked us to move to upgraded rooms. There were a couple of other minor glitches, but, the people, the service and attitude in resolving them was worthy of 5 stars. The only disappointment we had was the taxi back to the airport. On the way from the hotel, the taxi was 36 Euros (40 incl tip). On the way back, the hotel kindly called a taxi for us, there was a meter in the taxi but it was not used and when we arrived at the airport, we were told that the fare was 65 Euros. You can forgive a few Euros difference, because, the route taken was different, but, it did sour the trip as it was our last impression and I would suggest the hotel use a different taxi company.
Mediterranean view from the balcony
We stayed in room for 4 in the separate building (not in the main bldg where the reception is located). It had a loft with double and twin and double downstairs. The furnitures were dated. The attraction is the view from the Mediterranean from the balcony. The shower was for handicapped people (?) it did not have shower curtain and the bathroom floor got all wet every time we took showers. The hotel is close to the park and bakery, little groceries etc. the park had Sunday antique market and the area is very charming. 15 minutes walk down to the marina with expensive restaurants.
Well recommended hotel
A friendly & helpful employees, fantastic breakfast in the hotel's terrace with the beautiful view of the ocean. The place is accessible to the bis going to nice & monaco. We'd love to go back to nice & montecarlo again & we'll definitely stay in this hotel.
Beautiful harbor view from the 2nd floor and a nice location to the old town.
Make sure you get a view
Lively facility on the water. Unfortunately the Hotels.com booking gave us the lowest rooms behind a garage with a slight peek of the Mediterranean. This was not the view shown in the site.
Nice hotel with great views!
The views from our balcony were fantastic. There is a small pool area and restaurant (only for breakfast). Staff walked us to our room and showed us how to work everything. The hotel is in a great location across from the bus stop, but also within walking distance to many sites in the city.
**/*****
Two star hotel with five star views.
Curtain on the "window" didn't work good so we have the sun very early on the face.
Family gathering
The hotel could use a facelift. Some aspects are nice for a family holiday. The rooms and reception would benefit from being updated
Nice view and Location but needs updating
Trouble with WIFi safe did not Lock Room not up to US standards Nice patio area
We'll come back!!!!
This hotel is AMAZING! Great location, easy walk to everything. Beautiful views! The lady at breakfast was very nice and made my wife and mother great omelets for breakfast.
Could have been good, if only...
It's a nice hotel but they had to turn us away even though we had a reservation and had booked a room several months in advance. A problem with a bathroom made the room unusable. They sent us to another hotel that was quite inferior, and when we went back for the second night they didn't give us a room with a sea view as we had asked. I don't think I'll trust them to try again on a return visit to Villefranche-sur-Mer. It was a missed opportunity for a glorious weekend on the Mediterranean.
Beautiful Villefranche sur Mer
Fantastic stay.Villefranche was beautiful, and quieter than the hustle & bustle of Nice. Close to the bus stop for Nice & Monaco.Caught a bus to St Jean Cap Ferrat & did the coastal walk.Absolutely beautiful. The staff were really helpful & friendly.I would definitely recommend La Flore. Thanks for a memorable stay
Pleasant Hotel with fantastic view
Booked through Expedia, tried to change the booking with the hotel and told to perform this via Expedia which I did, all ok. On arriving at the hotel told I had a problem with my booking; however provided the Expedia communications and received a 64 Euro credit. The way the staff at the hotel spoke to me was very rude.
substandard for a 3 star, paint peeling, dirty shower area etc
Very comfortable and clean hotel.
Taxi picked my husband and I from Nice airport to hotel and from there it was a lovely 5 days. Staff friendly - room very clean, view from balcony across bay lovely. Breakfast was plentiful - good choice and again Dani the "breakfast lady" very helpful. Buses across the road to Monaco or Nice or Menton very good, plenty to do. Plenty of restaurants in Ville France for meals in the evenings. Lovely to sit on the balcony at night. All in all, very enjoyable. Swimming pool in hotel very clean.
Good place with a reasonable price
Excellent view of the bay. Breakfast was good. Reception staff very helpful.
Hotel needs updating
Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with choice of fresh omelet, etc. The décor is dated, pillows flat and lighting in room and hallways too low. Bathroom needs repairs. Balcony view is wonderful and helps make up for the décor but the price which is high for the current condition of the hotel. Some investment is needed.
great location
beautiful town, great walks through old narrow walkways finding hidden restaurants and cafes near the port. quick drive to Monaco and Eze nicer place to stay than Nice pool rooms with private hot tubs are great views were spectacular great staff
Stunning views
Our stay at La Flore was perfect. We arrived in Villefranche Sur Mer by bus from Nice and was pleased at how close to the bus stop it was located. It also made travelling to Nice and Monaco very easy. We stayed on the same floor as reception and our room had a terrace with table & chairs to enjoy the spectacular views. The staff were excellent and very helpful with our queries. Our room was an average size, it was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
stunning view, great location
We had a great experience at this charming little hotel. Staff was friendly, especially at the reception, and very helpful. Parking was never a problem, right in front of the hotel. We had breakfast there, ok and a bit pricy but very convenient and the same great sea view than from the room (kids pay half). We had a room on the top floor with a little balcony. Fantastic view! Just below us rooms had bigger balconies/terraces, which seem nice too, but the view is not as good. At night we just walked into the town to have dinner. A few things could be improved: The pool is gated in a weird way, with lounge chairs on the other side of the fence. Pools towels were not always available and there was no one to help by the pool. Toilet ring in the room was shifting to the side everytime we would sit on it...
Great views
Room was small but had a nice balcony with a great view of the water. There was a small outdoor pool for hotel guests. The staff were extremely nice and the room was clean. There was free parking available and the hotel was easy to find. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk uphill from the waterfront.
Good staff
We were made to feel very welcome the bathroom was far to small the toilet seat was broken but the view was fantastic
Perfect view!
A just right balcony with perfect view over Mediterranean sea! Rooms are clean and cozy enough. 5-10 Minutes drive from Nice promenade. Plenty of free parking slots. Service is not bad. Breakfast not recommended.
Very good location and views to match.
Very nice hotel and location. Room was very clean. Excellent views of the surroundings and Mediterranean Sea. Desk help was a little snooty, could have been a little more pleasant. Otherwise I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Dirty Sheets!
We just stayed one night, prior to checking into a place that we had rented in town for the week. Room was no frills, even by European standards, but seemed like it would be okay for the night. After dinner, when we came back to the hotel to go to bed, we saw that the sheets were DIRTY! VERY DIRTY with hairs & stains. We told the one person there on staff for the night & he handed us a set of clean sheets.
Disappointing. Ad looked much better.
Ants in room. No help with luggage. Minimum staff.
Hotel Flore close to lovely villefrance
Hotel safe did not work. was fixed day before we left. Lighting was poor. Shower poor. Towels very thin.
Nice hotel in Villefrance
Stayed two nights in this hotel. Room had a nice balcony and the room was large with a good bed. The hotel is moderately expensive, but in an expensive area. Free parking at the hotel is a plus. We had a problem checking out. The staff could not work our credit card and attempted to charge us the full rate for two nights, ignoring our $ 200 deposit. I gave them cash and am not sure the money found its way to the owner. Also, the hotel needs maintenance as the balcony had cracked tiles and mold. The room could use some spruce up, like re varnishing the woodwork. On the plus side, a good location, away from the confusion of Nice and a short hop on the Middle Corniche to Monaco.
Nice hotel with magnificent view
Our hotel room had a magnificent view of the ocean in this harbour town. What a charming town. The hotel is not fancy but the rooms are very clean, modern and tidy. The hotel staff generally was helpful. This is a good choice for the price point especially with the view.
Good views, good value
The hotel is quite basic / average and is not in the centre of town. That said its clean, has lovely views, close to the bus stop and a short walk into down (although uphill when its hot). Overall good value for the price.
This was a great location to base day trips from. It is clean, easy to get to and although the rooms are small, the beds are very comfortable. We stayed in room 2 which had a huge wrap around balcony with views of the Alps all the way around to the beautiful bay of Villefrance.
Great Value For Money
Wonderful location, incredible views, accommodating staff. A very satisfying visit.
Beautiful Terrace View
Best hotel of our trip. Our spacious room had a beautful large terrace overlooking new port in Villefranche. Beautiful breakfast room with same view. Conveniently located a block from the bus stop and about 15-20 mins walk downhill to the old town and beach. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Only negative is that it is at least a half an hour walk to train station over hilly terrain and it is difficult to get a taxi for that short a distance.
Inkeepers are wonderful. Views from our room were spectacular. I would highly recommend this hotel.
