We enjoyed the room with a view of Matterhorn. Hotel walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Poil and spa were very nice.

Excellent stay with kids. Staff friendly to kids. We had a lovely courtyard outside our room which was fun for the kids. The on site ski rental and ski storage was absolutely perfect with warm and dry mittens and boots in the morning. Easy access to ski bus. Really convenient for everything

La Couronne was excellent! My room and the spa were amazing, the staff very helpful, and a great location. I recommend staying here.

Everything at La Couronne hotel was amazing. The reviews and description of this property was spot on. We had a balcony with a view of the Matterhorn and the beautiful town of Zermatt. The staff was friendly, the morning breakfast was simple and light, the Old Zermatt restaurant at the hotel was convenient. We had lunch & dinner there, the food was wonderful and staff was delightful. We had a massage at this amazing spa, both my husband and I agree it was the best massage ever! The spa facilities were amazing! Everything from a cold room, steam, sauna, indoor and outdoor pool, and relaxation area. We were here for three days, but could have stayed a week! I highly recommend this property!

Great location. 5 minute walk from train station. Watch out for the crabby breakfast lady who brings the coffee.

Perfect hotel!

The hotel was perfect! The rooms were spacious and the views of the Matterhorn were amazing! Everyone was wonderful but Sandra at the front desk was a standout! She helped us plan our days and gave us great information about the hotel and village. She even remembered it was my birthday and surprised me with a sweet little treat! We’ll definitely be back and won’t stay anywhere but here!

Good location and good service

Wonderful property. Good amenities. Only drawback is the hotel claims to have free shuttle from train station. They don’t past 8pm We arrived and had to walk uphill ( or take taxi ) under the rain Also we could have enjoyed a room higher up since nobody was in it. We would have had a better view.

The location was walking distance to everything and close to great restaurants and coffee places. Right in the river and with a grand view of Matterhorn. This exceptionally clean hotel is the best choice we could have stayed in!

Much better than my expectation. They provided a nice backpack for hiking for free and free taxi to train station after checking out. I will consider this hotel again when I'm back to Zermatt.

Beautiful location. 8 min walk to Train station. Hotel has a nice decor however breakfast option was not so great compare to our other hotel stays in Switzerland. We stayed 2 nights in a non ski season and it was more than enough.

Great location, Off the main drag but close to everything. The room was large and clean, but the thermostat did not appear to work and opening the window did not cool the room so it was hot and hard to sleep.

Loved LaCouronne!

The staff was warm, engaging and very helpful. The location was excellent. The offered a free pickup and return to/from the train station, which was very helpful. We had a junior suite with a balcony facing The Matterhorn and the view was spectacular. The room was very clean and comfortable, and offered a device that drew cool, fresh outdoor air into the room. Would highly recommend the hotel.

Our 7th visit to Zermatt and our 5th stay at this Hotel should say it all. Oh and provisionally booked again for Christmas 2018 !!!!! When staying in Zermatt don't underestimate the importance of location, this Hotel has it .

Very nice and well located hotel

La Couronne is very well located (about 600m to the glacier paradise gondola and 300m to the banhoffstrasse) and has a ski shop, ski room, sauna and a very nice restaurant. The rooms are very nice and the best of the hotel is its amazing buffet breakfast in the winter garden with a spectacular view of the Matterhorn. The staff is fantastic! I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice Hotel Great Location

The hotel location was a short walk across a small bridge to the BahnhofStrasse (Main Street) with nice restaurants and good shopping. The hotel provided a complimentary taxi from and to the Bahnhof train station (actully ann electric vehicle as it is a car free town). View of Matterhorn from the hotel breakfast room and balacony was sensational. The cog train to the Grongrat mountain was great. Used our Swiss Rail pass to get it at half price (Full price was 83CHF EACH with Swiss pass it was 43CHF return each. Staff at hotel were very courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel was a chalet type as are all the hotels in Zermatt. Would recommend highly. Visit the Matterhorn Muesum in the centre of town (only 10CHF each) and we spent a lot time there.

Good value, great breakfast and view

Price is comparable to those of similar levels, awesome breakfast area next to the deck with a direct view of the Matterhorn. Good hot breakfast. Downside is the twin beds put together to create a queen for couples and although clean rooms are somewhat dated.

Good hotel in Zermatt

We were very impressed about the staff, facilities and location of this hotel. Didn't have any complaint about the hotel, impeccable attention from the staff, clean and very comfortable rooms, perfect and convenient location. We fully recommend it and please don't forget to enjoy breakfast at the hotel salon with an amazing view of the Matterhorn.

Pleasant hotel in excellent location

Hotel is in an excellent location in the heart of the village within walking distance of the rail station. As you walk out of the hotel, you get a view of the Matterhorn. The room was modern, comfortable and of adequate size. We did not have a view of the Matterhorn, but some rooms would. Nice breakfast, but the best feature is the bright solarium type room in which it is held. Another nice view of the Matterhorn is available from that room.

Friendly atmosphere

Hotel's location is good & our room is clean. Once you exit the front doors & walk to the road, if the weather is clear, you can see the Matterhorn. People will stand there to take photos of it. A good variety of breakfast foods. There are changing rooms & showers available for use after you have checked out. Cornelia (at front desk) is very helpful, knows Zermatt well & is kind. She called a taxi for us & gave us a voucher for it when she heard that we wanted to catch an earlier train that leave in 15 minutes. All this without us asking her to do so.

Good hotel

Pretty good hotel, didn't find anything wrong with the hotel during our stay, the staff down stairs were nice, our room was clean, the view wasn't much but we didn't want to pay extra for a room with a good view, and the hotel is not too far from the station. We enjoyed our stay with La Cournne.

Fantastic location and room

Had a room with a view of the Matterhorn and it was unforgettable....these rooms are AMAZING!!! This was my favourite hotel experience in my one month of european travelling. Loved the skylights in the bathroom and bedroom, taking full advantage of the surrounding mountains (you could also close these with remote control when sleeping). I would definitely stay here again!!!

Great stay in beautiful Zermatt!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hotel La Couronne over Christmas this year. The price of the room was a bit high, but what *isn't* expensive in Switzerland... and especially in Zermatt? The location of the hotel was great... right next to a ski bus stop and had several good pubs and restaurants nearby. The staff were amazing and helped answer all of our questions on our first stay here. We couldn't ask for more!

Zermatt hotel

Location was great for all the trains and rail activities in the city. Service was exemplary and the restaurant was superb. We had the specials of the day at the restaurant and we thought it ranked top tier - probably in top 3 of all the places we ate in Italy and Switzerland over the past month. Room was alpine, comfortable, and just enough room. They have a shuttle to pick up and drop off at airport if you ask. Wifi was fine.

My fiancee and I stayed here for 4 nights. Room was nice - clean, plenty of space and good bathroom. Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast buffet. Close to the shuttle bus to the ski lifts. This hotel is really good value-for-money!

Outstanding location

Remember, everything in Zermatt is VERY expensive - that includes the hotels! We stayed at similarly nice hotels in Salzburg and Fussen at $100 Euros less per night. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this hotel (and it's restaurant). A few blocks up the hill is Sparkey's!

We were very pleasantly surprised by everything about the Hotel Couronne. The staff was very accommodating and helpful about getting us information or anything we required which included rental ski equipment, discounted lift tickets, hiking path & spa recommendations, dinner reservations and much more. The hotel was very clean, centrally located on the river running through town right accross from the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof, had a great restaurant/bar on-site, a ski shop and a place to keep your equipment. They also had a great breakfast buffet (hot and cold items including eggs, bacon/sausage, breads & rolls with butter and jams, cheeses, sliced deli meats, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, juices, teas, coffees, and hot chocolates) which was included in the price of our room and the room itself was bright and had a great view of the Matterhorn. The only possible negatives were no toiletries provided other than a combination of liquid body wash/shampoo (no little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand soap, etc., so if you prefer these, bring your own supply) and the mattresses were very firm (platform style beds with no extra padding on the mattress) so if you're used to a cushiony mattress, these might take some getting used to. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a visit to Zermatt, Switzerland.

Great location; service was hit or miss

The positives: location is central, right near ski bus; the included breakfast is great before a day on the slopes; the room was spacious. The negatives: the beds are HARD; the room we had (room 106) with a "Matterhorn view" only had a view when walking out onto the patio when you were then staring into the breakfast area (could not see Matterhorn from room!); the front desk service was hit or miss - very rude when we arrived but great when we left.

Across the bridge from the old part of town

The location was great! It's on the river in the middle of town. On the other side of the bridge (which the hotel is next to) is the bus stop to take you to the ski lifts. Over the bridge and 100 yards up a slight hill is the old church. Around the corner from the church begins the main street with most of the shopping & restaurants. The breakfast room features a great view of the Matterhorn. You get a discount at the ski shop that is in the same building as the hotel. I bought our lift tickets at the hotel too. They have a room to store your skis and racks that blow air to dry your boots. The basics: friendly, helpful staff and clean comfortable room. Call ahead if you know when you're train is arriving. They will pick you up. The half mile or so from the train station to the hotel is an expensive cab ride. We spent 4 nights at La Couronne. If I return to Zermatt, I'm staying here!

Wow - what a view !

We spent a lot of time looking for our hotel in Zermatt with it being our first visit and only for one night. We chose very well indeed! We had a deluxe mountain view room and it was exactly as described with a completely unobstructed view of the Matterhorn which at 7am was set against a perfectly clear blue sky. The room was comfortably furnished and well appointed with a balcony. Staff were friendly and quickly arranged a pick-up from the station on our arrival. The breakfast room leads through to a large balcony area and while there is no bar service you can take drinks out and soak up the atmosphere. Everything in the town is no more than a 5 minute walk away with a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants. In the end we ate in the Old Zermatt restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel and had an excellent meal. We were able to leave our bags after check out to give us the opportunity to explore a bit before leaving on an afternoon train - once again a complimentary transfer was provided.

Zermatt is a beautiful city to visit, we arrived on Swiss National Day, the Swiss sure know how to party! Hotel was very good, staff friendly and helpful.Buffet breakfast was excellent. Would recommend it to anyone.

Great hotel, convenient in Zermatt

Great hotel for our time in Zermatt. Good breakfast included, classic Matterhorn view from breakfast/lounge terrace--so we were glad not to pay extra for that view from or room. Mini-mart across from hotel for inexpensive beer, wine, etc. Close to everything we wanted in Zermatt (trams, train station, restaurants, souvenir shopping, etc)

Great place to stay for the Matterhorn

We walked around, drove around, and took trains all over this area, and the literally the best view of the Matterhorn that we found was from the front steps on this hotel. It is a great location, with huge rooms (very rare in Europe), and great service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff are lovely staff & the location is ideal. Nothing to do with the hotel, but beware: Taxi's are a HUGE RIPOFF in Zermatt ($20 dollars to take you 3x blocks)

I can recommend this hotel in the highest grade. The staff were extremely helpful. I had a problem with luggage left on the train; they fixed it. Any queries are dealt with with a smile.

Hotel Couronne in Zermatt, Switzerland

Stayed in the Hotel Couronne for two nights. Excellent choice, beautiful hotel, beautiful location view a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. The hotel has a great staff and it was a pure pleasure to stay there. One of the best hotel experiences I have had in many years. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great option in Zermatt

Very comfortable hotel/spa with amazing views to the Matterhorn, both from the room and from the public areas. It was great starting the day looking at the Matterhorn or seeing the snow under the glass roof of the breakfast room and finishing it in a warm tub facing the mountain. Very friendly staff, central location; very good breakfast; restaurant was a life saver for a (very) late Sunday lunch. I would surely return to La Couronne and recommend it.

Sehr freundliches Personal alles sehr Sauber. Frühstück sehr fein und abwechslungsreich. Das Hotel liegt an top Lage alles zu Fuss erreichbar. Eines der Highlights der Outdoorpool mit bestem Blick aufs Matterhorn.Wenns wieder mal nach Zermatt geht dann ist das Hotel meine erste Anlaufstelle.
