Staff (5*), Hotel (3.5*), Meals (2*) Negative start, we booked a superior double and we got a single with a small double against the wall (2nd person crawls on the bed), 1 side table, 1 coffee ☕ confirmed it was a single. Positive, Robert arranged an upgrade (extra cost). Appreciated upgrade but disappointed with the original room allocation. The staff were awesome (Stella, Joanna, Nassos and Djemalie Facilities as expected, communal toilets clean, bar was on occasion busy and pool loungers were usually booked by 10am (European guests booking loungers before breakfast😒😒). General: Loads of shops and restaurants close by and Malia strip is walkable. Sunsets on the beach are worth the evening walk. A few noisy or inconsiderate male guests but they calmed down when no one paid attention. If meals were improved this is a hotel I would revisit. Con: Meals were just ok 🙁 There's a selection and meal theme varied but nothing made you feel like having seconds. Some days it was difficult to find something you wanted to eat. We ate lunch out most days in small village taverns and that was 😋 Breakfast varied but fried eggs are not served daily, when they were they were slow cooked in oil not fried As with most buffets people waste a lot of food. The a la carte meal was better than buffet but again felt like it was missing something. Again the team serving were the high point, dishes were served fairly quickly and drinks topped up.

It was so lovely and one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, I will absolutely be back again !!

Outstanding All-Inclusive Resort

We stayed here several nights at the end of May. The hotel was busier than I expected but was well versed in handling a crowd. Check in was fast and simple and a staff member helped carry our luggage and show us our room. We used the soaking tub every night and loved it! The bed was super comfortable and our balcony was a good size to sit and relax on. There was a huge selection of food at each meal, so you are sure to find something you like plus the menu changed daily so it wasn't repetitive. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location- only a short walk to the beach and to supermarkets and shops.

Nice, relaxing hotel close to the beach

The hotel was very relaxing, good location and the rooms (we had a bungalow) were quite spacious, clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly, always saying hello to everyone. It had a real family vibe to it. The hotel was all inclusive so meals were all included. The food was good and the bar prices were pretty standard as well. There is a supermarket down the road and a few jewellery and clothes shops too. The beach is 5 minutes walk. There are better beaches however a little bit further away. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel suitable for all ages.

Upon arrival our room wasn't available and we were taken to a nearby hotel for the night and collected the following afternoon. However, this rocky start was recognised by the Manager who was very apologetic, this did not spoil our holiday whatsoever. The food was fantastic and plentiful, you could eat as healthy as you wish. We have two fussy eaters and they always found something they liked and even tried things they had never had and they now eat a larger variety of foods so this is a big plus point! The staff are the friendliest staff we have ever encountered at a Hotel, nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere of the Hotel was very relaxing and we really did feel at home there. We've been to many Hotels, 4 and 5 stars but The Kyknos has been our overall favourite so far and would love to return one day.

Good getaway for hikes

We were pleased with the staff at the reception and in the restaurant. Good food. Dessert less than average. Beds rather hard.

Don't be fooled by the "4-star Resort"!

Pros: Close to the beach and bars. Nice grounds with trees and bar next to the pool. Free WIFI in lobby area. Remote controlled AC. Cons: -Not a resort at all. Just cause they have pool doesn't make them a resort. Motel 8 doesn't call themselves a resort! -Not so private pool located in front of the restaurant which always has people sitting outside, so you can't just relax without hearing noise or smelling cigarettes. -Horrible service, short tempered male receptionist required that I pay cash for the additional person. -Sewer smell like bathroom which we were unable to air out no matter how long we had the window open. -The man that helped with our bag ripped my handle since he didn't care to take both handles. -Staff and other European guests smoked a lot so you cannot escape it. -We had a horrible view of the freeway and an abandoned building. -The TV was about 12" big and broken. -Refrigerator was locked unless you pay 10 Eur / day. -Not a real double bed since they just combine 2 twin beds together. My husband and I had separate twin blankets. Overall, they say that they are a 4 star hotel, but beware since that is in Greek standards not US. We asked the receptionist what makes them a 4-star, and they said that it is in Crete standards where they get a star for their amenities. Meaning a 12" non working TV counts as 1. A pool is another. Then a disability ramp counts as another and so on... In US I would rate this place a 2-star hotel tops just like a Motel 8! Don't waste your money here.

Sehr schönes Hotel. Familienzimmer noch nicht saniert aber trotzdem in sehr gutem Zustand. Professionelles Personal, aufmerksam, fleissig und loial. 3x am Tag abwechslungsreiches Buffet.

Tout était conforme aux attentes. Rien a redire.

Hôtel très beau et personnel très gentil par contre chambre familiale à rafraîchir (deux fuites et propreté moyenne) et pas d insonorisation donc assez bruyant des 7h30 du matin. Pas d animation et quasi que des allemands donc pour les enfants Français dommage.

Le camere sono spaziose e ristrutturate di recente. Buona la pulizia.La nostra camera dava sulla piscina dove c'è il bar quindi un po' rumorosa anche a tarda notte,per noi non era un problema ma la sconsiglierei a chi ha il sonno leggero. Il cibo è buono, di tipo internazionale con proposte anche di piatti locali ma sicuramente più in linea con i gusti di inglesi e tedeschi ( la maggior parte degli ospiti sono infatti inglesi e tedeschi,pochi italiani)Il personale è gentile e pronto ad aiuture per qualsiasi necessità. Esperienza più che positiva.

Das Personal ist super freundlich. Die Umgebung bietet schöne Ausflugmöglichkeiten und das Hotel hat alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt.

Une grande chambre a côté de la piscine au calme. Le personnel est prevenant, acceuillant et discret, petit plus pour Aris, charmant. Un buffet avec beaucoup de plats differents, tout le monde trouvera son bonheur, un petit moins pour les desserts, pas vraiment à mon goût. Sinon c'est un bel hôtel à 20 mn a pied de centre du village. On a vraiment aimé. Claire et Regis

Allgemein gutes Hotel, größtenteils frisch renoviert, mit sehr nettem Personal.

Personnel super accueillant, chaleureux, souriant, jusqu’aux femmes de service avec mention spéciale pour les serveur/ serveuse du bar de la piscine. Chambre confortable avec tous les équipements nécessaires, dommage que le lit double soit 2 lits simples, difficile de dormir à 2 au milieu, sachant que les demandes particulières avaient été demandées par mail longtemps avant et qu’à cette époque fin octobre, l’hôtel était plutôt tranquille niveau monde. Nourriture variée ( plusieurs propositions ) mais revenant trop souvent à l’identique: choix de crudités, légumes, peu de viande, pas de variété en desserts, mais je ne suis pas difficile donc bien mangé.

Mitigé

Malgré le nom pas de cygne, de plage, de bungalow; par contre un personnel accueillant et efficace; Malia une ville sans grand intérêt.

Άψογη εξυπηρέτηση

Άψογη εξυπηρέτηση από όλο το προσωπικό, το φαγητό αρκετά καλό, πολλές δραστηριότητες για να περάσεις τον χρόνο σου μέσα στο ξενοδοχείο εάν ήθελες. Τα δωμάτια πολύ καλά. Έχει πολλά καταστήματα κοντά εάν θέλεις να κάνεις ψώνια. Σε γενικές γραμμές η διαμονή ήταν ευχάριστη και ότι έπρεπε για ξεκούραση.

Très bon rapport qualité/prix.Nous avons passé une agréable semaine avec notre petit garçon de 3 ans. Il a apprécié le club enfant. Attention si vous souhaiter louer une voiture en ne passant pas par l’hôtel, on vous déconseille fortement le loueur à droite en sortant de l’hôtel.

- bungalows are awful: - smell of wet (1. floor) - awful mattress, you feel instantly the springs - 2 beds instead of 1 double bed (in case you ordered the last one) - no wifi inside as advertised (maybe not everywhere) - old furniture, devices and bathroom - main hotel building - awful mattress, you feel instantly the springs - wifi works ok - old furniture - no own beach, you pay for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella 6-9 euro per day - good beach is about 600m away (ikaros) - food is ok, but nothing exciting

gemütliche Hotel zu einem guten Preis

Wenn Sie nichts dagegen haben, dass das Hotel nicht direkt am Strand, ist dies eine gute Option. Die Zimmer sind sauber, geräumig, täglich gereinigt. Essen hat immer noch Reserven, aber der Aufwand war. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Tolles Hotel zum Entspannen

Wir waren hier eine Woche AI. Von hier aus kann man schöne Ausflüge machen oder einfach am Pool relaxen. Es ist eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Jeden zweiten Abend gibt es ein Programm am Pool.

Fantastica vacanza

Stanza spaziosa e pulita, hotel a pochi passi dalla spiaggia con mare incantevole, soprattutto quando calmo. Cibo abbondante e vario, impossibile non trovare almeno un piatto di proprio gradimento. Personale cordiale e disponibile.

Skøn familieferie for store og små

Vi var på familietur med tre generationer, så alderen var fra 3 år til 70 år - alle fuldt ud tilfredse med opholdet. Super godt og afvekslende mad i all inkl. pakken til de tre hovedmåltider - rigelig med drikkevarer til alle aldre hele dagen. Rigtig fine og rene pool områder, både den store og børnepoolen. Vi boede i bungalows i stueplan, temmelig gamle og slidte, men vigtigst af alt rene - meget små hvis man skal have børn på værelserne - men vi skulle jo på den anden side kun sove der, så ok til det formål. Terrassen foran er meget lille, ville være dejligt hvis den var lidt større, specielt når man har små børn der ligges tidlig i seng. En stor mangel på værelserne er dog, at der ikke er noget sted at tørre håndklæder, badetøj m.v. - selv det mindste tørrestativ udenfor ville have gjort en stor forskel. Stranden, som ligge meget tæt på brugte vi ikke meget - p.g.a. vind var der temmelig store bølger og det kombineret med, at der også er en del klippestykker på stranden, gjorde stranden uinteressant for os med små børn. Havde det været stille vejr ville stranden sikkert have været fin. Tror måske der findes mere børnevenlige strande andre stedet i området. Masser af liv, barer, restauranter, butikker m.v. på gaden lige nedenfor hotellet. Hotelstørrelsen er perfekt for familier med små børn, da de lynhurtigt lærer at finde vej rundt. Et trygt og godt hotelmiljø. Alt i alt et rigtigt dejligt hotel og måske vi en dag vender tilbage til Kyknos Beach.

Goede prijs kwaliteit en top personeel

Goed hotel Met Een Super Service. Personeel is altijd vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kamers worden iedere dag goed schoongemaakt(compimenten). Het eten is goed alleen jammer dat er zoveel olie wordt gebruikt om het eten mee in te bakken, hier wordt veel over geklaagd. Het is een hotel wat ik persoonlijk niet echt geschikt vindt voor kinderen aangezien er alleen op zaterdag animatie is. Nog een tip voor het management: -koop een Spotify abonnement zodat de muziek aan blijft en niet telkens uitstaat of er alleen reclame komt :).
