Exceptional in Every Detail

This was a very special chance for my daughter and I to visit Kruger Park. So I opted for a special place to stay - Kruger Shalati. We stayed in a train car on the bridge. It was elegant, quiet, and spacious with a spectacular view. Below us in the river was abundant wildlife including hippos. We enjoyed an all inclusive plan with superb dining, gracious service, and two daily safaris with exceptional guides (shout out to Lisa!) I stay in hotels 100+ nights a year and this ranks as one of the finest resorts I’ve ever experienced.

Unfurgetable Experience!

Fantastic Experience we had in this Lodge! Unfurtunatelly, we just stayed one night, and should be 2 nights and inside the train! The room we choice was amazing! But inside the train should be an undorgetable experience!! Just inside the restaurant it was warm, should have more ar condicionar!

Fantastic and completely unique hotel on a train. We stayed in a garden suite which was lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was fabulous. We had Nelly as our tour guide on the game drives and saw the big five. We will definitely be back

Beautiful resort in the vast wilderness

The staff are all so friendly and hospitable. Be ready to eat like you never have before on the fully inclusive package. Stayed in Garden room number 5 and it was very nice and spacious. Elephants, monkeys, crocodiles and hippos are all at the doorstep of the resort visiting daily which is amazing. Twice daily game drives take place at 5am and 4:30pm and we're so much fun.

Beautiful location, beautiful room with view, warm and welcoming staff and wonderful food

One of our best trips ever. Staff is beyond accommodating. Went with a group of 5. Each morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled. Shout out to our guide Nelly!! He's beyond knowledgeable and knows all the patterns of the 'big 5'. He will also stop and explain fun facts about the animals, their patterns, etc. Most certainly the highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful and we saw elephants, hippos, giraffes, and crocs from our train. Service is top notch. The team remembers your preferences and the food was simply amazing. Can't say enough good things about this resort.

Our stay at the Kruger Shalati was fabulous. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our every need. Our guide on our daily game drives was extremely knowledgeable and stayed out extra time when he knew animals were in the area. Our rooms were gorgeous and the train bridge is a unique experience we will never forget. I highly recommend the Kruger Shalati and hope we are lucky enough to come back for another visit!

All you can imagine - and more!

We decided to go to ToB based on the "Reluctant Traveller" show, and we expected it to be fun and worth staying there. We were pleasantly surprised with how much better everything was than we even imagined it would be. Big Sam, the entire staff, and Lisa (our guide/driver) were all so friendly and helpful. It was a great trip and someplace we highly recommend!

Once you have done a safari here, you will not want to go anywhere else. When your room is on a train bridge and you can see wildlife from your room, have amazing twice a day game drives and excellent food and service, Shalati is a little piece of heaven. Our ranger, Sizwe, was an amazing spotter and a wonderful person.

Amazing staff, amazing room and game drives are fantastic!

Kruger Shalati is a truly unique and wonderful experience from start to finish. We were met at the airport by Victor and transferred to the hotel. The hotel itself is breathtaking. The staff are friendly and extremely attentive. The food is beautiful. The rooms are amazing; we saw hippos, elephants, leopard, crocodile and Cape Buffalo from our bedroom window on multiple occasions. The game drives are fantastic. Our guide for the whole stay was Victor. He is genuinely one of the nicest most passionate guides we could have hoped for. The team are incredibly lucky to him.

Unparalleled Safari Experience at Kruger Shalati

Kruger Shalati is the quintessential destination for experiencing the wonders of Kruger National Park. The game drives were exceptional, with Thuli, our driver and guide, ensuring we saw as many animals as possible. Sibusiso, our host, was incredibly warm and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. The standout feature of Kruger Shalati is undoubtedly its breathtaking views. From both the rooms and the hotel itself, the scenery is unparalleled, making it one of the most unique locations I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. In my opinion, the hotel boasts the best views in all of Kruger. One suggestion for improvement would be to heat the pool in the honeymoon suite, but overall, the experience was nothing short of spectacular.

This was an end to end amazing experience. The location does a lot but without the hospitality of Kruger Shaleti we would have been lost. Victor our guide was incredible - his passion for the game animals and knowledge is unparalleled. It was inspiring to meet someone who loves their craft so much.

30 th Wedding anniversary celebration

This trip was amazing and had it not been already it would now certainly be on our bucket list. From the moment we arrived the accommodation and the staff were perfect and everyone couldn’t have done anything more to ensure that we had a fantastic time. We honestly couldn’t find fault with anything. We feel that we need to make mention of our safari tour driver guide Thuli, her knowledge of all the animals and surroundings was really impressive and she ensured that we got to see all the big 5 and so much more. An amazing trip from start to finish.

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Kruger Shalati. Everything about it was top notch. The staff were outstanding, the rail carriage rooms were stunningly beautiful with a full side of windows to enjoy the beauty of the river and its visitors. We saw elephants with minutes of arriving at our room. The early morning and afternoon safari drives were amazing. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Thank you to Fanni and Geoff that took great care of in the dining room and to our guide Thullli who made sure we saw lots of wildlife up close. We loved every minute of our stay.

Amazing stay everything was above expectation. From an eco position it would be good to see a reduction in the use of single use plastic bottles.

Words can’t really explain. It was an overall great experience from airport pickup to check in to check out. Our guide Lawrence went above and beyond for us. The staff and servers are very nice and professional. The food was 5 start dining quality and the hotel amenities are out of this world. I can’t fault this place aside the monkeys always bothering us during breakfast ;) jk!

Some of the best few days I have ever had on holiday. The entire experience was seamless. Staff at all times extremely welcoming and super friendly, the game drives are extremely well organised and well run. The advantage being they all communicate via radio and work together to have the best chance to see what you go for. We were there 3 nights and we saw everything we went for, all the big ones some even more than once. One extra night would have been perfect I feel

Blown away by the view, the service, the staff and the food. Waking up to a view of the Kruger is incredible. In top of that, the staff go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy every element. The game drives are really well arranged and a huge amount was seen. This place is a cut above the rest but a warning - it will ruin everywhere else for you, it feels so special!

Our stay at Kruger Shalati was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. The room was comfortable, clean, and beautiful. Every person we interacted with during our stay treated us with amazing hospitality and provided excellent service. When we first started looking at where we’d stay for a safari, our hope was to find a place that made everything easy and Kruger Shalati did that. From coordinated airport pick up and drop offs, to the two game drives a day, great meals, and great ambiance, Kruger Shalati was everything we hoped for and more. I will highly recommend a stay to my own family and friends.

Amazing hotel. Wonderful location and a really chic room. The staff was amazing and the service was very individualized. We had a private tour everyday with the same guide who was an expert and very informed. The other staff was absolutely lovely and anticipated every need. Get a massage! Lie by the pool. Have a wonderful time.

Beautiful property, wonderful staff

Almost Perfect

I loved the resort and the trip. The only thing was that moderately priced alcohal was not included in the all inclusive. Also, cocktails were extra. This left a bad taste since the stay. Premium alcohal okay. Bombay Gin...really?

Shalati train is located in a stunning location, unique view of the Sabi river from carriages is a memory for life. Waking up with the sounds of hippos is amazing. Staff is amazing. Rides are not as good as in other lodges, they pack them with up to 8 people which doesn’t feel much exclusive, unfortunately we got bad weather and they do not offer enough comfort in the vehicles, just provided a very thin poncho and we ended up all wet. food is good and very sophisticated but cooking meats is not their specialty.

We stopped in this property as part of our honeymoon. What an amazing hotel. The hotel is in a stunning location right in the National park with wildlife all around the river. Our room had an amazing view and we loved having our own plunge pool. The food was delicious and our dietary needs were catered for. We attended all the safaris and the whole experience was an absolute dream. We saw so much wildlife and our guide was fantastic and the stop offs with drinks and view was unbelievable. The pool on the train was stunning looking over the river. But we were glad to have our own pool to ourselves at our room. We just wish we could have booked a couple more nights to relax at the hotel as the day is quiet busy with two safari rides out. Highly recommend!
