Love the beachfront accommodation. Lovely pool and stunning sunsets! Only reason for rating a good / 4 for the area is due to the vacant lot across the front entrance and for property condition in area seems tired. Loved it and would recommend and stay again! Thank you.

Great location directly at the beach and a 10 minute walk to many restaurants, 7 eleven shop, many dive schools and the port. The pool is nice as well. Our first room was terrible. The ceiling of the shower was full of black mold - awful. We asked for a new room and the staff moved us to another one. Basic, but clean and no mold. No room service unless you ask for it. You have to be early to still get available pool towels. Also, reception is only available from 8am which we didn’t realize until check out. We had an early ferry to catch and wanted our 500 THB deposit back. Staff was even 20 mins late to open reception and didn’t even apologize for the delay. Overall wouldn’t stay again and can’t recommend.

I don’t know how this is classed as 3 stars the hotel is in a terrible condition, doesn’t look like anywhere has been renovated in 20 years. Room was awful, furniture hanging on by a thread, mould on the walls, curtains all ripped, shower broken and cold, air con super loud windy noise, the bed was so uncomfortable and really noisy squeaks every time you move. No safe in the room or lock on door which made us feel uneasy. Hotel is at the bottom of a hill but is walkable. Overall wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay here again.

The location was good. Staff helpful. The bar opening was disappointing. Was not able to come back to hotel bar at night as closed early. They are missing a trick which is a shame.

This property has huge potential as it’s conveniently located, but is a resort that is in decay. Not upkept at all, the room was filthy, we had to keep asking for housekeeping to actually sweep, sheets stained, gym was pathetic as nothing worked. Also a lot of mosquitoes especially near reception. Staff was friendly but not eager to help

Good place but lacks atmosphere

It was a good location, the hotel itself just needs some tlc all round and the hotel would be really good. The restaurant served good food but you would not know it was open as no info in the rooms, no background music so you woukd not know it was there. With a bit of tlc and better organisation this place could be unreal.

Good location but needs a renovation.

Great location but very outdated - this hotel is in dying need of a renovation. Lots of bars/ restaurants within walking distance and access to a small private beach. Our room was only serviced once during our 4 night stay. Spider webs around sink after we checked in and the shower head was broken.

Great place, right on the beach. Staff was very nice.

Resort is a bit out ofnthe way and the bar closes randomly throughout the day so its hard to get a drink or even any ice during the day and with it being a bit of a massion to get into the main part of town you find yourself hanging out away from the property more than not. Pool is absolutely beautiful and large though and walking distance from the ferry.

Very friendly staff to let us check in earlier due to early ferry arrival. We stayed a few more hours for free. Wonderful beachfront location but a little confused by google Maps which led us to a steep/narrow jungle-type driveway. Please don't use it. Actually, you can walk about 200 meters to the hotel on the beach from the arrival pier, if you have only a backpack. The hotel room is not updated but I would still recommend this hotel due to its beachfront location. Beach Club hotel uses the same entry driveway.

The property was well kept (though a little on the older side) and everything worked as expected. It is run by a very pleasant family and it felt like being a little part of the family staying there for several days. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I would very quickly stay there again.

El hotel es espectacular. Las tres piscinas y la playa privada hacen que uno no quiera irse nunca de la isla. Además, esta a 5 min del centro y del puerto, cosa que hace que lo puedas hacer todo a pie. Nosotros alquilamos un día una moto para recorrer las otras playas y los demás días nos quedamos en nuestra playa. En esta playa se ve una gran puesta de sol. Sin duda, si vuelvo a Koh Tao, volveré a escoger el hotel.

War zone

The hotel did not look as it does in the pictures. The rooms are old, dirty, unfinished, and there was mold on the lower part of the walls. Beds were hard, pillows flat, and the bathrooms filthy. The outside of the hotel had rubbish and building materials everywhere. A lot of unfinished projects everywhere. The hotel looks like it had been in a war zone but half re built. Not worth the money at all.

Enjoyed the hotel but it wasn't anything amazing. The Wi-Fi was poor at times and the pool was used by scubadivers therefore you couldn't use the pools. The resort next door opened their pool to the regal visitors when the pool was out of bounds however this pool isn't as nice as the one in the regal. Just annoying seeing as you've paid for it. However hotel is a 5 minute walk to the pier and very close to restaurants and night life

Needs updating

The whole hotel needs updating. It fits in between two markets (backpackers and holiday makers). The facilities are backpacking but the price is holiday high. The pool was empty and we did not fancy a dip. They need to drop the price or update the hotel. We had to move a few meters up the road to a better hotel which funny enough is also expanding and had the builders in. But they did not even disturb. The pictures in the Regal look better than the actual hotel. The staff, though are naturally nice. It's a pity as the hotel could be so much better.

The location is great if you want to avoid the busy Sairee beach yet not be too far away from experiencing the chilled Koh Tao life.

The best is the free pick-up and the pools

The hotel is not far from the harbour but the rooms look really old and a many is broken and loveless... Us room was whitout good views only the backround... The pools are big but to less sunbeds and they are aso dirrty We pay 7200bath for 4 days .... The beach is good we have no breakfast but its obly 3 min walk on the beach to the mainvillage

Extremely overpriced, the only thing you are payin

The ONLY thing going for this hotel, if you are staying in an ocean view room are the amazing view and a very spacious room. And that is about it, the hotel is very old and falling apart, especially the bathroom is a disaster. The hotel needs a major overhaul, the staff is very inpolite and you are considered more of a nuisance than a paying customer. Extremely overpriced, the only thing you are paying for is the view. The first 2 nights they put us in the nearby hotel Beach Club (same owner), because something was wrong with our room (they didn't explain what) and we would prefer to remain there-it as it was a much more enjoyable stay.

Great location

Hotel in a fabulous location with great views of pool/beach - as long as you pay for the pool/beach view. The hotel is a little tired looking and is in need of a facelift but the location makes up for the cosmetic shortcomings.

Lovely hotel

Not far from the boat pier (5 minute walk along the beach), but don't let that put you off, you wouldn't know about it the ferries come from the other direction. Lovely beach, and pool. Staff are very friendly and food was lovely (western and eastern). A couple of things probably need looking at like repairing the odd sunbed etc but overall very good 4/5

okay but run-down and overpriced

room was okay, but overall overpriced for what you get. bathroom was not clean and a constant stream of water was leaking from the toilet base into the shower. the 'patios' for rooms on ground level (backside, not poolside) are very smelly and feel like a prisoner's garden b/c of the high walls surrounding it. staff is okay, but nothing special. you can find better places for this money.

Ko Tao Regal Resort

Okay

The hotel was a little dated and the sheets stained. On arrival we discovered our shower didn't really work very well. Saying that it is a hotel with a lot of potential it jus needs a little bit of maintenance.

Good position, poorly maintained

This hotel has so much potential, but the management don't seem to realise, care or have the money to do anything about it. From the beacch front the resort looks as any 3 star beach resort would in Thailand, but as soon as you look closer, you realise it is not as it seems. The restaurant: Great view, nice area, but we never saw anyone in it, no promotions etc. The beach/pool bar: again great location right infront of the pool and on the beach. This should have been busy all day with passing trade and guests, but it wasn't. The barman sat with his head down under the counter on the internet the whole time, which made you think it was shut. Long dark corridors lead to the rooms, which weren't appealing. Toilets in public areas were dirty and had no soap etc. Tools and materials were stored in public areas. Room decor was ok, but not very clean. We paid a little extra for a pool view, which was worth the extra.

Good location, rooms dirty and now cleaninglady

The location was good, and the pool was great, but the room was dirry when we arrived, the bathroom had not been cleaned and the sheets were dirty on the bed. We stayed there for 2 nights and the room was never cleaned. The staff wasn't that helpful as well. But great location and great pool. I would recomnend people to stay in a bungalow there to explore the great koh tao atmosphere.

Okay for a few nights.

A little out of the way from everything, which could be a great thing. Mae Haad and it's 7-11 are fairly close, especially when walking along the beach. Rooms were big and relatively clean, although the sheets had spots and a stain that could not possibly have been missed by house keeping. Pool was a combination of salt water and some serious chlorine. Okay if you're staying a night or two, but there are better on the island.

Stay on the other side of the island... not here

This place may once have been nice... Not now. Curtains in tatters (view nice) room was not cleaned... bathrooms dirty, sheets dirty, cleaners just changed towels daily and sprayed some aerosol. Internet did NOT work in our room. No facilities and very disappointing. There are much nicer hotels than this on the other side of the island. Don't stay here.

The Regal was a good hotel.The room was good value,large and clean.The pool was nice,and location to sea was excellent.i would recommend this hotel for family's and couples.

Good base for a holiday

Our stay at the Regal was enjoyable, we are thinking of returning in May this year. The staff were very friendly and the setting very good. The hotel overall could do with some TLC, we found the corridors very dark despite lighting which was of a poor level. The amount of power cuts whilst short was frustrating. The building work being carried out was frustrating but we are sure when finished will add a lovely area. We only ate in the hotel for breakfast and whilst this was of a reasonable standard the choices were limited.

The Koh Tao Resort is very conveniently located to the Crystal Dive shop for all who come here to dive. It is not what I would consider a resort however. Hallways were dark, A/C in room only stayed on if key was inserted ( so not on while you were away) and the room got hot quickly, hallways very noisy due to tile floors, staff spoke limited English, etc. Restaurant opened at 6:30 am but dives started at 7am so en tho it's billed as a partner to the Crystal Dive shop,you coudn't eat before a dive there. Fortunately. The Crystal Dive restaurant was open early for divers.

Had a lovely stay here

We enjoyed our stay here and it was actually quite good value for money compared to many other places on Ko Tao. The island itself is more expensive and there is a lot of price fixing compared with other Thai islands. Lovely, spacious and clean rooms. Beautiful balcony, pool and beach setting. Friendly staff and well located on the quieter area of Mae Haad but with lots of bars and restaurants around.

Regal Resort - Chill Place

Up on top of a hill near the pear and part of hat Mae head is a nice lovely resort. It has, hands-down, the best pool in all of Koh Tao and perhaps all of Thailand. The restaurant at the end was decent, but there are tons of great restaurants in the village. Can walk to the pier and village easily but those hills might make it tough on those with sore knees. Clean rooms and bathrooms, extremely friendly staff. Would easily stay again!

If you want a comfy bed and that's it...

Beds were super comfy, noticed there was debris on floor, 20 min walk either way to Mae Haad or Sariee? Beach. Restarunt was terrible service and the food. Pool was ok but freezing cold. Wifi wasn't that great.

Nice hotel

The room was nice and large bathroom. Pool area is very nice and they got own beach. Staff wasn´t that good and there were some missunderstandings. I got food poisoning from the hotel restaurant so avoid eating there! It's little far away from the Sairee beach but near Mae Haad and the pier.

Very nice!

The hotel is nice. I had a "superior room", but didn't get an impression that the difference was very big. The room was nice and spacious and due to the fact that the room was situated in a corner, it had two balconies. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. A couple of drawbacks: The hotel is not really situated so that it is convenient to walk to the main areas of restaurants etc., and I don't think the hotel features a dining service. To me this did not pose a problem as I rented a motor bike for the duration of my stay (for very cheap). The main area for eating and shopping is only a minute-and-a-half by motor bike, but still a bit of a strech if on foot in the heat. It's still a bit inconvenient to have to ride a motor bike if you've been enjoying drinks in the sun all day... Other than that the location is great right by the beach. All in all - recommended.

Not bad, but not great

This hotel was not bad, but not what expected from the website. It was significantly morei expensive than others in the area. If you are looking to stay in the central area of Tao, find a hotel in Sairee, as it is a 20 min drive from Regal.

Amazing staff, and spacious sea view room, it was lovely the view. The only aspect to improve is the hardness of the mattress of both of our rooms made it really hard to get a good night sleep.

Great staff at the reception. They acted om our claim that the aircondition in the room didn’t work, and send a technician to fix it while we went out to eat. We got back to a note in our room, that the technician couldn’t fix it right away, and that we therefore should move to another room which was better in every way. Very positive experience.

Ok hotel

We were a couple staying here and a little reflection afterwards is what you pay is what you get. So with that said, it’s a cheap stay if you are on a budget but I wouldn’t come back and don’t know in the first place why we booked it. From the hotel it is 15 minute walk to the center of Sairee beach with all restaurants and bars. I should of course have double checked this so my bad. Breakfast is terrible and lunch is nothing special so eat some where else. Beds are really firm, the rooms are old and not that fresh and you can hear everything so we got woken up every morning at 6 AM when people slammed their doors. The nearest beach is nice though, the pools are cooling. I would guess that the hotel is good for backpackers or for people on a budget, but as a couple who is in Thailand for a nice vacation I would book something else.

Gute Lage, geht aber besser

Das Hotel hat zwar eine gute Lage ist dann aber nach dem ersten Blick nicht so toll wie man sich das vielleicht vorher vorgestellt hat. Die Flure sind teilweise dreckig, der Eingangsbereich ist auch nicht wirklich einladend und das Zimmer ist nicht wirklich das sauberste. Allerdings kommt man direkt vom Hotel zum Strand und die Handtücher und das Bett wurden jeden Tag gewechselt und gemacht.

Vom Pier nur 6 gehminuten entfernt und direkt am Strand liegend. Insgesamt keine Beanstandungen jedoch wären Strandhandtücher schön gewesen ;-)

Отель расположен между Мае Хадом и Саири в тихом районе. Всё в пешей доступности. Бассейны работали. Желающие пользовались бассейном. Для не продолжительного проживания.

Nära till piren, Sairee beach och restauranger. Lugnt område. Stranden nedanför funkar för ett dopp men är finare på andra ställen. Hotellet är ganska slitet och har sett sina bästa dagar. Systemet för att få städat innebar att man la sin nyckel på disken i receptionen, fullt synlig - vilket kändes lite olustigt då det inte finns någon säkerhetsbox på rummet. Poolen är stor och vattnet klart men det skulle behövas lite bättre städning av poolen. Kul med en djup pool dock. Kan rekommenderas om man inte har några högre krav på boendet. Ett rimligt pris för läget och poolen.

Great room and big swimmingpool that open unil 10pm in front of the beach. Near the pier (you can go on foot). Near the night shops and night music.

Otroligt nöjd!

Detta hotell får högsta betyg av mig och killen! Hotellet ligger precis på stranden bara några hundra meter från piren och shopping och restauranger där. Åt andra hållet är det bara en kort promenad till Sairee beach och shopping och restauranger. Hotellet är fräscht och likaså poolen och restaurangen. Vi kommer definitivt att komma tillbaka!

Vi boede på et meget stort værelse med den flotteste panorama udsigt til havet og solnedgangen. Hotellet bærer dog præg af være nedslidt og der var kun vand i den ene pool.

Hotellista jäi hieman pahamaku, koska ensimmäisessä huoneessa missä yövyimme oli noin miljoona pientä muurahaista. Tämän huomasimme vasta seuraavana aamuna, kun tulimme myöhään illalla hotellille. Muurahaisia oli aivan joka puolella, mukaanlukien sängyssämme! Saimme vaihdettua huoneen missä oli vähemmän muurahaisia mutta hotelli henkilökunta totesi tähän vain "normal". Lisäksi aamupalaa ei hotellilla järjestetä. Sitä voi tilata mutta annokset hintoihin nähden eivät ole kohdillaan.

島の繁華街である港まで徒歩5分弱で、買い物・食事・マッサージに便利。またホテルの目の前にビーチがあり、立地がとてもいい。また、シャワーの水圧がしっかりしていて、お湯も出る。（温度調整があまりできないから、たまに厚すぎる笑）しかし、シャンプー・リンス・歯ブラシなどの基本的なアメニティが揃っていない点ががっかりだった。

Hotellet var okay. Ikke det flotteste ifht billederne. Personalet var okay, men ikke meget serviceminded. Værelset var fint, men ifht pris ikke noget vildt, og slidt. Flot udsigt over pool og havet. Lå lidt væk fra byen, men man kunne gå derind på 5-10 min.

Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen

Das Hotel verfügt über 3 Pools, einige Geräte im Gym, ein Restaurant und einen hauseigenen Abholservice vom Pier. Leider ist alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen, eine Renovation wäre dringend angebracht.

Good hotel and rooms were clean. Shower was very good. Our room had great ocean views. Really great value for money. Definitely plase to go!
