One of the best ever.
The best hotel in the world and definitely in Israel.
hotel's design is superb, staff extremely friendly, spacious and elegant room, wonderful view. a real pleasure and wonderful experience
I had a wonderful stay at the King David Hotel. The hotel is a perfect mix of classic elegance and modern comfort. The pool area is a true highlight—beautifully landscaped, with plenty of loungers and a crystal-clear pool that’s hard to leave.
I hate leaving a bad review, but if you are sabbath observant, look elsewhere. The staff turned off the lights in our room, despite the Shabbat sign on the door. This ruined a nice evening when I had to go back down the stair and locate a someone to fix the problem. I never received an apology from the management, This is not the quality one expects from a "5-Star" hotel. try the Orient or the Citadel instead.
5 stars overlooking old city
Wonderful 5 star experience overlooking the old city.
Words cannot describe the beauty and history and incredible focus on details
Room was very comfortable and dining at the Grill was superb.
Pure Class
Pure class steeped in tradition and history. One of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
טוב
I love everything in this hotel the service the staff the area the food everything was excellent i really love it thank you so much
Old world history
One week stay in the king David was a pleasurable experience. The staff was exceptional and helpful. The hotel has old world charm and an unbelievable history. Just walking though the halls shows the history of Israel and the different diplomats that stayed throughout the years. Would definitely stay there again!
King David November 2023
Spent four night there. There was a small war going on down south, in Gaza, however, not an impact at this fine property. Safety never a concern at the King David.
November 2023
Israel is safe and strong and no better place to celebrate that than the King David hotel.
I have been to hotels with more amenities, but I have never experienced the type of first class service this hotel offers from the time you get out of your vehicle to the time you leave.
Amazing!!!!
King David - Jerusalem is without question one of the finest hotels in the world- based on the common rooms- guest room- dining- grounds- location- service- and unrivaled views of the old city.
An experience of a lifetime- one of the finest hotels in the world. Grand- historic- stunning views- impeccable service- supremely located looking over the old city. Breathtaking.
There is an extremely outrageous thing going on in Israel . Non citizens Tourists don’t pay taxes but if they meet an israelie girl and she sleep in the same room , now you have to pay the taxes. Many hotels ignore the Israelis to avoid the outrageous TAX but king David receptionist insisted to charge me th VAT That’s almost theft . The PR guy came and saves the situation .
Best good Best location Best service
Great family hotel Super service
Historic backdrop and location is a given. Garden Room with view of old city walls was nice. Room amenities were very poor. A small outdated LG TV with poor connection and limited channels. Small old refrigerator that did not cool well. Limited electric sockets in room and none in bathroom. Free mini bar was insulting. Check-in was chaotic, time consuming. We had come to property a day prior March 18, 2023, to confirm an early check in for March 19th as it was our wedding day at 5:30 pm on March 19th. . Reception confirmed early check in for 2:00 pm. however the room was not read until after 3:00 pm. I the bride had no time to shower nor do my hair in time for wedding photos, videography; In fact, we were late for our own wedding!. There were many employees but no attention was given to the fact that we are newlyweds. We were offered water or grapefruit juice only. Breakfast was way below expectations in comparison to other 3-4 star hotels in Jerusalem with hovering wait staff. Room service average and food was below expectations. The gym was an afterthought. In short, we wasted four nights, 20,000 NIS and honeymoon days that we can never get back. Overall oppression environment. I will never recommend the king David hotel in Jerusalem. Glad to have relocated our honeymoon at a true luxury Resort Hotel in the south of Israel.
King David Hotel and Staff
Staff is incredible. Nadia in dining service is amazing and made our stay wonderful. David in concierge was very helpful, kind and answered all questions.
Incredibly well renovated.
A superb hotel. Excellent service.
Perfect location. Lovely staff.
Nice to have seated check in. Not nice to be meglrvted for an hour and given one small glass of water while waiting Concierge service would have been better not to have one that yo have one thst pretends to help, but doesn’t. Hotel itself was fine , but will not recommend or return.
Amazing stay Convenient to old city Safe Fantastic service throughout We had both a dinner and breakfasts (which was simply amazing) Highly recommend
This is a truly stellar property with excellent staff, incredible meals and a wonderful warm pool. I highly recommend King David!
I paid one price with Expedia and got charged additional money for hidden miscellaneous fees. We had to pay an extra $900 for nothing.
It was a great experience, We had hoped to attend the onsite synagogue and that was functional.
Overall the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at
Perfect in all ways. Staff was beyond superb
The build is beautiful. However, the stay is not what it used to be. Breakfast is a fraction of what it was pre-covid. We booked what we thought was a room with breakfast. We went to breakfast every day and no one ever asked for our room # until the last day. When we checked out, they said we had breakfast one day and there was a charge of $64 for that. We said "but we had breakfast every day and no one ever said there was an extra charge". So they charged us $387 for breakfast for six days which we assumed was included. Don't hotels tell you when you are incurring an extra charge (e.g., ordering a drink in the lobby or getting a spa treatment)? Several times, we called the guest services for something missing in our room. It took multiple reminders before we got it. The minibar (now "complimentary") was never replenished in the six days we were there. Next time, we'd try another of Jerusalem's luxury hotels.
Extremely Pleasant Stay, Very Hospitable.
It was extremely pleasant and enjoying hospitality, wonderful welcoming at the reception particularly whereby you can sit down and you are offered a beverage and a choice of sweets. Had been attended by very professional and welcoming. Karawi, who showed me to the room and the facilities was excellent. The service, cleanliness, facilities and all personnel are all there is attendance and do a very good job.
I've stayed at many beautiful and classy hotels but this was the nicest. The staff was unbelievable!. Love the historic feel to the hotel. Room was spacious and bed was dreamy.
Fantastic stay! Jeremy, Jeremy, Anton, and Iliana could not have provided better service. We will return soon.
Consistently at the top in Jerusalem
The King David remains best of the best in Jerusalem. Excellent service. Rooms were clean and all hotel staff was professional, attentive and helpful. Friday night dinner was just ok but our server Maher went out of his way to accommodate us with off the menu items. Israeli breakfasts are usually good and the King David does not disappoint. Our server Isaac did a terrific job. Front desk was also very helpful and accommodating.
Poor and overpriced experience
There is a prestige atmosphere to the hotel, but nothing that you can't get in a 5min visit in the lobby. The room is old (for better and worse) - we had a broken tap, water didn't flush, and the shower temperature changed randomly from freezing cold to burning hot. We asked to switch rooms but were told nothing was available- shameful. For breakfast, friday was really good, but there was no reference in the booking that the same variety we had on friday won't be available for Saturday.
Unparalleled
Few places on the planet gaze over ancient civilisations and contemporary history, than the King David. Jerusalem has a number of 5 star properties, but the King David is unparalleled.
My favourite thing about this hotel is the views of the old city especially at night
Hotel needs a “facelift “. Doesn’t like “fresh”.
History service And location
The best hotel in the world
Great one day stay!
Very pleasant experience. Service on a very high level. Wonderful breakfast.
Great location, the hotel is very nice
Breathe history
Well kept and still amazing after 90 years... Exceptional location, unique historical design. Spotless and comfortable room with a view to the Old City. Quite an experience...
Perfect vacation. The hotel has al lot of history and story to tell. The location is perfect and everything is walkable. Very luxurious! top class!
The hotel itself is wonderful- the building, atmosphere, reception and concierge staff as well as the pool area and staff. The rooms are spacious and
It was very cozy. The room could use some updating. The staff was fantastic
A wonderful hotel
We had a wonderful stay at King David Jerusalem. The hotel staffs are very friendly, professional and responsive to our request. The services are excellent, the location is convenient. The food are delicious and room s very clean.
Way more than just a hotel.
Excellent service, no nickel and diming, for example free valet parking and free mini bar. Fabulous very comfortable rooms, beautiful grounds and history all over the hotel. Best hotel in Israel.
Excellent location. 5 minutes walk to the old city and to Mamilla mall. 20 minutes walk to the shuk (Mahane Yehuda). Excellent restaurants. And the best breakfast buffet that I’ve ever had in any hotel.
Its a beautiful place very well located. The rooms are fine, particularly the bathrooms.
Feels like home Would never stay anywhere else. Lobe the atmosphere and especially the breakfast!!
Location you cannot best room was poorly managed Staff was burden by our multiple calls to correct The Bar was good Back terraces looks into old city absolutely beautiful I would return but expectations low on service
Grandeur in Jeruzalem
Beautiful hotel with great decoration and great service. The bathroom is rather dated and we found the bed a bit hard, but they arranged a topper for us and then it was super comfortable.
Way past it’s glory days. Outdated in design and lacking in service and amenities. Definitely doesn’t feel like a 5 star hotel.
Terrific experience from location to property, staff and food quality.
Disappointed 5 Star hotel
This was supposed to be a five star hotel however I would say it is way overpriced for what I expected. We sat outdoor terrace to have coffee and small meal the server never came back after our food was brought. They lost our luggage we waited for 3 hours in our room for our luggage and my husband had to go down to reception to ask about it therefore we were unable to freshen up and waisted several hours that we could have been site seeing. This hotel seems designed more for business type meetings than tourist coming to explore the area. Would not stay here again if visiting Jerusalem.
Room at check in was full of flies. Concierge who had booked a trip for me tried to persuade me to pay a higher price. Room key failed several times. Huge crowd checked in and made noise like a Holiday Inn, not a luxury property.
Wonderful tradition in Jerusalem
This is a beautiful and historic hotel. We were upgraded to a suite with balconies overlooking the Old City. Phenomenal room and fantastic views. The staff was very pleasant but had a few service hiccups. After waiting for over an hour for our luggage and being unable to call the lobby, I retrieved our suitcases. Also, when entertaining guests on the outdoor deck we all ordered white wine and received red wine. Not a big deal but just a lack of attention to detail. I loved the experience and will stay here again.
Amazing Hotel
I had the best time at this iconic hotel. The staff were overall impeccable-they emailed ahead with questions to make the stay fantastic, the front desk was so polite, we got an upgrade, the gym and pool were wonderful (we used them both daily), and the breakfast was impressive. Again the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, the lobby is breathtaking as are the views of the hotel from the city and the city from the hotel. My only small issue was I had to ask daily for coffee to be refilled and it usually took two calls to do it. It was never an issue as I’m totally spellbound by this place but it is worth mentioning. I usually judge a hotel based on whether I’d come back. For me Jerusalem means Hotel David and I will never even look at another hotel objection when I’m near Jerusalem.
Whilst the history of this hotel gives it providence and wonder, i am afraid for the price there is more to do. Some aspects of the hotel look tired and in need of a refurb. The breakfast needs attention for sure, undercooked eggs both mornings. the location is amazing of course with the wonders of the city and your feet.
Pool/jacuzzi not open with nothing said at res time
Great food, disappointing the pool was closed while we were there and there wasn’t a spa
King David is a great hotel located walking distance to Old City of Jerusalem and Mamilla shopping Mall...the hotel offers all the amenities you need to make your stay much more enjoyable ...Fantastic friendly staff, and I will never forget guest service “Sarah”...always smiling ...and went beyond and above her assigned duties to make my stay in Jerusalem a truly experience..
A lot of noisy construction going on in hotel Visible to guests off lobby.area.
Superb staff and hospitality specialists - best hotel in Jerusalem!
Lovely hotel and staff I highly recommend it and get views of the old city if possible and Dori f for a junior suite
Lots of history to this hotel. Avoid this hotel from Friday night to late Saturday, everything shuts down for Shabbat .
Very very pleasant every one very nice the food excellent
Historic Hotel living on past glories and a awful
The best pool in Jerusalem and the worst hotel. Noisy bedroom moved to quiet room, however when in the room amenities not transferred. The staff are poorly trained and have inadequate leadership. The communal areas are dirty and the staff shout across dining areas particularly at breakfast. Photos to follow
Great location, friendly and helpful staff
The hotel is located in a great position for getting around Jerusalem. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms and facilities are excellent.
Best in Jerusalem
From the minute we arrived , we knew this was going to be a great experience. Valet parking, upgraded to a balcony room, more closet space than any hotel I’ve ever been in, fruit bowls and chocolates in the room.
great hotel breakfast for uk tourists a bit limited
Historical Location
I enjoyed the location and the histrionics part of the hotel. The place is clean and beautifully designed. I believe the rate was high for the room gjven to me. Also coffeee Machine was not provided when you are paying that much. Over all positive though.
Great hotel and location
We had an awesome stay. Our room was great, clean, and spacious. The breakfast buffet provided multiple choices for guests. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We would easily recommend this hotel to others and hope to return again.
Grand old Hotel
Great classic hotel. Wonderful service. Great location. Only minor negatives are the small health club and good but not great WiFI
Fabulous way to experience Jerusalem
We spent six nights at the king David hotel and must say it was a terrific experience. The staff was very attentive and the food was amazing in all the restaurants and the Shabbat experience was wonderful. The room was quite comfortable and clean and the King size bed was really nice. We will definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit to Jerusalem.
A MUST!!!!!
Memorable Father - Son trip to Jerusalem!!!!! Don't know how it could be better! The staff helped book tours and pick great restaurants!!!!! Must DO!!!!!!!
Disappointed
Very disappointed. Expensive hotel which is not good value for money. Staff disorganised. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. We asked for tea twice and it didn't arrive. Meals in garden cafe poor quality. Bonus of TV in bathroom but it didn't work! Room could have been cleaner - carpet had not been vacuumed. Herbert Samuel Hotel much nicer at half the price of this hotel.
Everything was excellent Best hotel in Israel
Costs way too much for what you get
Nice hotel. But shower was leaking, they promised to set up a Shabbat lamp and never did. Food was excellent but really expensive. For this kind of money I expected better
Good location with beautiful grounds with a view of the wall that gave you a sense of place. The staff was excellent. I wish the breakfast was not totally kosher
Historic hotel near Old City
Overall, we had a pleasant stay at King David Hotel. The breakfast spread was very nice except on Saturday (Sabbath, hence no fresh bread, fresh juice or toaster). It was easy to arrange day trips to various must see and must do sites. The concierge is well-informed and helpful. We did a private tour to Madasa and the Dead Sea and a small group tour to Bethlehem and the Old City. Cabs were readily available but we had to ask most of the drivers to turn on the meter or asked how much they wanted for the trip. There are some good eats in Jerusalem.
Used to be something. The thrill is long gone
This hotel indeed used to be the place to stay in Jerusalem. Sadly this is no longer the case. The hotel itself is still a beautiful building. The rooms are comfortable and lovely. The service however is non- existent. The food is substandard. The breakfast buffet is massive but the quality is no longer there. The other restaurants that we ate at while at the hotel suffer the same fate- pretty to look at but the taste of the food and the service are terrible. This hotel has a long way to go to win back my five star ratings. I am now looking for a new place to stay in Jerusalem.
Best Hotel in Jerusalem
This Hotel was great! A tad bit over priced, and a bit dated but the history, and staff made up for it. King David is a must!
It was a very special experience to be able to stay in this hotel. The interior is so beautiful.
From the moment you walk into the beautiful hotel
The staff are extremely friendly yet professional... Breakfast buffet was excellent..
Love the buffet breakfast every morning.
Nice and close to Old Jerusalem. We walked it every day.
Great hotel in the heart of Jerusalem
My husband and I spent two nights in this wonderful hotel. It was in the perfect location to explore the Old City and all the amazing sites within. Everything inside the hotel, breakfast, the bar, the staff was top notch.
Perfect stay at the King David Hotel! Truly a treasure of a historic property. We really enjoyed our stay and were impressed by Adnan, a concierge who helped arrange airport pickup for us. He personally called me at home before our trip to confirm! Some criticisms: Given the class of hotel and cost there could have been a coffee maker in the room. Room service just laughed when I called and said that they could send up an electric kettle for instant coffee! The less than perfect rating for cleanliness was due to the less than clean expansive glass surrounding the toilet area in the bathroom. The hair dryer was missing, but was soon replaced.
Beautiful historical hotel...
Great location to Old Jerusalem. Handy Yellow gas station and convenient store next door for snacks. Most of the staff was excellent. We loved two of the bell boys that were always so friendly and helpful. One was Soloman (really tall young man), and the other one was Gill. Our favorite taxie driver was Golani. He made our trip!!! He drove us over to the Jaffa Gate, but first took us up to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic pic of the old city. He even cut an olive branch from one of the trees for us and gathered a limestone rock for us to take home and put in our garden. Because of his kind gestures we ended up using him all week. He took us on a tour to Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, Jordan River, and other northern cities, also to Jericho and Bethlehem. By the end of our trip he and the two bell boys were like family to us. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast every morning and dinner out on the patio overlooking the Holy City. Breathtakingly Beautiful! We will definitely be returning to the King David Hotel. I can't say enough good things about this place. Don't stay anywhere else!!! Miss Israel already!
10 Star Hotel
From the checkin until departure I couldn't find one bad thing about this hotel. The entire staff was far above par and the historical features are fascinating. This is a 10 star hotel and I won't stay anywhere else when in Jerusalem.
Beautiful classic hotel in Jerusalem
We were initially given a room on lower floors that we not renovated, and we did not like it. We ended up staying on the upper levels (6th and 5th) and it made a big difference- rooms were totally redone, and beds and showers were great. Staff was amazing, very helpful, they went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant and memorable one.
A true 5 star hotel
Stayed in many 5 star hotels and this was definitely one of the nicest! Wonderful service; any need was anticipated and met elegantly.
Beautiful, luxurious hotel
This was a wonderful, historic hotel to stay in. The location is fabulous.
The Best In Jerusalem, the best in the world!
My fiance and I came to Israel for a 3 week vacation. We stayed at several 5 star hotels along the way: Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem, Dan Eilat and the Ritz Carlton Herzliya. The King David Hotel was by far, unequivocally the best! We are from the United States and travel often. We are used to hotels like the Langham Chicago, Ritz Carlton Central Park, Beverly Willshire, Wynn Las Vegas to name a few. I do not say the following lightly: None of them compare to the prestige and service provided by the King David Hotel and the buffet in the dining room is the best buffet in the world. Other 5 star hotels should come to the King David to train their staff. It is just that good.

Superb service and facilities. The only negative is a parking is not super convenient.
