A beautiful hotel, the staff were brilliant everyone we came into contact with were so welcoming. Really great location for a city break stay, beautiful room a real gem in the heart of Edinburgh
This is my go to hotel in Edinburgh. Convenient for everything
Fabulous stay at a fabulous hotel. Happy Christmas and thank you everyone for your friendliness and warm hospitality. Your a credit to the Brand.
Weekend visit
Excellent hotel and in a good location slightly away from hustle and bustle. Excellent service from all members of staff. The happy hour is great- drinks on them 5-6pm. Baba restaurant is also excellent and actually good value too. It’s very busy so ensure you book. Overall highly recommended and will stay there again.
We have checked out today and I couldnt wait to write a review! From start to finish it was an incredible experience. I have booked 1 night stay for my husband to celebrate his birthday. We have upgraded to a very spacious and beautifully decorated Junior Suite with our own Christmas tree. The team have organised the baloons as requested, but they have added extra treats. As we stayed with our 8 year old daughter we very much enjoyed the Swimming pool. Hotel is stunning and very tasteful and has a lovely touches of character. Complimentary drinks in the bar between 5-6pm was a bonus! The location was perfect and close to everything including Edinburgh Castle. Everyone in hotel was very helpful and attentive. The most perfect first time visit and we would love to come back again!
Lovely hotel, great staff! Very attentive and just amazing!
The amenities were incredible and the staff could do enough for you. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
The Kimpton staff was cordial, professional, and exceptionally friendly during our first visit to Edinburgh. Guidance will allow us to explore the city with confidence. Will return
Nice and central area
The hotel is a little gem with easy access to downtown shopping, restaurants, and local sites. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend if in the area. Close to the castle & Royal Mile. Lots of dining options nearby. Easy access via public transport. Plus the hotel itself is gorgeous. Staff is great & very helpful.
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was so attentive and personable. They gave us little chocolates and treats every so often, knew our names and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we need. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. The hotel is centrally located to Edinburgh and even though we rented a car, we truly didn’t need it as we were able to walk everywhere. The food at the hotel is great as well. Visually, the hotel is also beautiful. 10/10
Amazing Hotel, great location. Staff went above and beyond especially Zoe on Reception! Highly recommend!
Beautiful building, great decor. Staff grest
Lovely Edinburgh Stay
Lovely hotel with brilliant staff
A good central and quiet location for Edinburgh
Excellent stay
Staff were very friendly and informative, enjoyed the tour of the hotel on arrival, the staff couldn't have done anymore for you. Excellence service and facilities. Lots of nice little touches. Between 5-6pm they offer complimentary drinks in the bar area, limited drinks, we didn’t utilise but nice touch. Stunning hotel very peaceful for such a busy environment and establishment.
Perfect Stay
Just finished our stay here for our 2nd year anniversary. The hotel is so nice and the staff were great, they went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. The hotel is in great location for exploring the city both new and old. Will definitely stay here again when we come back.
Loved it
Great hotel! So cute and lots of space to sit and work or chat. Great restaurants and staff!
I will be back
Nice hotel in a great central location. Friendly customer service.
This beautiful hotel has many great features. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. The best breakfast in town. Staff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
Amazing staff! The customer service is fantastic. Close enough in the heart of the city to walk to various spots, the on site amenities and restaurants also made it so easy when jet lagged to grab quick food or drinks
The property is in a great location, safe, very walkable to dining, historic and shopping destinations. Although a bit dated, the hotel is clean and neat. The room small, but efficient. The staff was fantastic, incredibly welcoming, helpful.
We loved our recent stay at the hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a king room before we arrived and quickly agreed to pay more. This turned out to be a great choice for us since we stayed for 6 nights. The staff were warm and friendly and we truly felt welcome. We can’t wait to go back and will book there again
The staff were super service oriented, very informative and friendly. Hotel lobby and common areas were very stylish and comfortable. Great location in Charlotte Square area. Great hotel restaurant and also nearby restaurants. Room was comfortable but we did not like the location of the room on the back side of hotel and the common areas leading to our room were not appealing and hallway outside our room had housekeeping supplies stationed there at all times.
Lovely rooms, wonderful staff and great location.
Terrific Hotel...great staff..loved the restaurant decor
Stunning hotel, inside & out. Very attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable room. Great location for shopping, restaurants, sights in Edinburgh & public transport. Easy walking distance too. Sadly, slept badly the 2nd night due to noise from public, in the street, until 03.30. Staff at the hotel were very apologetic but obviously it’s not their fault. We would recommend this hotel to others.
Friendly staff and very helpful, excellent food at BaBa.
Great hotel with excellent facilities
Excellent hotel in central location with friendly and welcoming staff. Love that they offer a social hour with a free drink in the bar. Hotel spa and pool were great to unwind in after a busy day’s sightseeing. Highly recommend.
Nice property, staff very welcoming and efficient. Very helpful and accommodating with our couple of requests (extra pilllows, need for a converter). Bathroom is nice with plenty of room. Appreciated the snacks and water available in our room. Bed was comfortable and bedding nice. Enjoyed a meal at Baba, service and food was great. Enjoyed our stay.
Still undecided
This is an older hotel so part of the charm experience is just knowing it’s older. If you have allergies or if old-building scents bother you, take this into consideration. Staff are exceptionally friendly which is a win but for the cost, I expected more from the overall experience. Bed was super comfortable, wifi was great and the area was very safe.
Great experience great location very friendly staff specially one of the manager “Magic “was really nice and helpful
Great New Town Hotel
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Visited Edinburgh for the first time, and found the location perfect. Situated in New Town (early 1700s - Georgian) and housed along a beautiful historic streetscape - it is perfect for shopping along Princes Street, walkable to Waverly Station. Majestic view of Edinburgh castle at the end of the street. Very close to pick up for Hop on Hop off buses. I stayed in a single room, small but definitely enough space, clean, great bathroom - and yoga mat! Added the breakfast - food was great - try the Haggis! Enjoy the bacon!! .The one confusing thing about this hotel (esp at breakfast time) is the coffee .. which is needlessly bad. So easy to install a nespresso machine.or other automatic machine that would make great coffee and completely level up the experience for coffee drinkers. But I do not want to complain about this hotel - Free drinks from 5 pm to 6 pm everyday ,,, lovely decor, great location, clean. We didn't have time to explore everything - the spa amenities for example.
This was a perfect place to stay in Edinburgh. Close to everything. The hotel was awesome because it was so quaint and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were cozy and clean! I just loved everything about this place!
Very lovely staff, and cutely decorated hotel. I wouldn't call it spotlessly clean, hence 4 stars instead of 5, but I wouldn't mind staying there again. Convenient location too. It would be nice if they had a bit more variety (especially vegetables) in the breakfast buffet.
Fwbulous stay
Fabulous hotel. Everything about it is just perfect. Staff very lovely and nothing was too much for them. The location is great as youre away from the mass crowds of the Royal Mile. But, not too far from all the attractions. It's situated on a fab road with many great shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definately be back! Catherine.
Place was great, staff continually went above and beyond. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved this hotel. Staff kind and personable. Central location.
Fantastic location and hotel.
The property was fine. The area was amazing. But the staff at checking seemed confused. I only stayed one night … but just noticed that my credit card had been charged three (3) times?? Can you please assist me to correct this. I was charged twice by the Kimton Hotel $450.28 CDN on July 19 and $540.41 CDN also on July 19 and $617.86 CDN by Expedia on July 18th? I can’t believe that this could happen. Can you please contact me by email at rsedivy@telus.net. Thank you Radek Sedivy
Nothing to add
A lovely classic propert with fantastic staff. Convenient for Edinburgh tourism.
Room cleaning never done. Put in bad room we asked for new room that was ok.
No room cleaning for 2 days in a row, with no explanation. The window in the room (268) is very small, not much daylight during the day. Cheap materials used, e.g. wooden like laminates etc. Room decor is still very nice, though....
Dd
The hotel was very clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. Breakfast was v good and location is central to many things
Friendly staff good service good facilities and great location
love this hotel and have stayed before. Unfortunately we were given a disabled room with view of a wall. Also now charge £8 room service which I have never been charged at any Kimpton or 5 star hotel. Would expect room service not to be chargeable in a hotel of this standard
Amazing staff, restaurants, and property. Would love to stay again.
excellent single room, novel but nice. superior staff and check in. superb location. now my favorite kimpton.
Was an amazing experience. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, excellent location.
Amazing hotel the only place to stay!!!
Fantastic hotel, staff were all so friendly and super helpful. Very pet friendly, our pooch was spoilt! Great spa facilities, fab social events in the bar and amazing food in the restaurant. Highly recommend and will definitely come back…. If looking for an amazing stay in Edinburgh this is THE place to stay. Well done to all the staff for making such a great place for your guests - you make it!!
Lovely stay
Room was clean and peaceful. I would stay here again. Close to many stores, restaurants, and transportation.
Loved the Hotel. We came last year too and both times enjoyed our stay.
Gorgeous hotel with amazing indoor patio. Incredible lounge vibe, beautiful room, and delicious breakfast buffet.
Loved staying here! Felt very safe and the staff was very friendly. We will most definitely be back. Close to shopping, bars and restaurants.
Very nice Hotel
Very nice Hotel staff amazing .great pool and spa plus breakfast was great
Perfect
Beautiful hotel and spacious beautiful room. The most comfortable room in our UK vacation out of the 3 different hotels we stayed in.
I’d recommend it
Great stay, spa lovely and the social hour a nice touch. Easy location to get about around town.
Underwhelming
Overall an underwhelming experience. To get any service you had to ask for it. However when asked they were very helpful. Would we stay there again. No. Would we recommend - yes but not as a 5 star experience.
Beautiful hotel and fantastic service! The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were kind enough to hold on to our luggage after we checked out of our room so we could explore the city We had a very pleasant experience all around. Highly recommended if staying in Edinburgh!
The service and cleanliness were both a solid average. I felt the hallways near the rooms were unsafe, dimly lit, and basically could have anyone walking in and out with no security. Breakfast was great. The room was fine.
Great stay in the heart of Edinburgh
Amazing stay, really nice hotel in a great location as well. Staff could not be nicer very friendly and chatty and go out of their way for you.
Lovely room upgrade to larger suite and 12pm early check in to make everything very easy. Lovely hotel for a weekend away.
Lovely property, very helpful, polite and friendly staff. Loved everything about it. Had a great stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff, specially the manager Callum (hope I’m spelling it right)
A charming hotel with attentive staff.
I really like the hotel and its staff were most welcoming and friendly. I didn’t see anywhere that a wheelchair could enter the building as i only saw stairs but perhaps there is another more accessible entry. I didn’t realise it was dog friendly but next time I will take my dog. The staff were very attentive and I was given a text from my welcome staff as I was a solo traveller and this was an important little step that made me feel comfortable and welcomed and safe. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t a jacuzzi in the spa and the floor wasn’t heated so that could possibly be a slip hazard, there was a lift access for disabled use. The hotel was overall very nice, a few licks of paint needed but I guess that adds to the rustic charm. The breakfast staff were attentive and welcoming and the gentleman with the long hair and beard that served us today was very happy to accommodate my dining requirements. I will say, the bed wasn’t so good to sleep on. The mattress was rather solid and the pillows were square so it was hard to sleep BUT that’s just my own preference on a bed. The decor was pretty and I felt very peaceful there. Overall was a lovely stay 😀
Great hotel and fabulous staff
Lovely hotel but breakfast was disappointing. Buffet style (unexpected for cost of room) - luke warm. Waited half an hour for coffee and order was incorrect. Ordered a la carte next day and was much better.
Brilliant stay loved every minute great service, spa, baba restaurant, breakfast and so central. Will stay again
Amazing hotel!
Very nice hotel with great restaurants
A great place to stay
Second time to stay Check in great, new staff in training, no issues Foyer staff in hand to help with luggage Room clean tidy with nice extras Happy hour in bar a real treat Breakfast great Walking distance to all town amenities Would say to pre book parking before you arrive
This was a beautiful hotel in an excellent location! While the staff was very nice, the bar needs real bartenders (drinks was mediocre) and breakfast was unimpressive for such as nice hotel.
Gavin was professional and courteous on check-in. He recommended a good Italian restaurant, Contini on George Street. Baba, the hotel’s Lebanese restaurant was good too. The room was comfortable and spacious with a bath and rain shower. The complimentary Tunnock’s wafer biscuits were a nice touch! We had a lovely stay at the Kimpton Charlotte Square and Edinburgh was, as ever, a beautiful and friendly city.
Excellent location, helpful staff
Gorgeous hotel
Fabulous hotel with friendly staff in a great location for the west end and George Street. Great breakfast and room.
Fabulous stay at a fabulous hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Spa amazing and food out of this world.
Lovely hotel in a great location. All staff friendly.
Excellent hotel.
Excellent hotel in every way. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The restaurant Baba served delicious Lebanese style tapas.
Great staff , free beer and take away breakfast for an early starter - loved it
High price hotel.
£350 a night is high for the rooms. Service is good, parking overnight is high. Unfortunately a dog was left in the room next door and barked between 3.00 am and 4am non stop. I called the desk and the owner had left the dog alone. It was taken downstairs thankfully.
Breafast was terrible. I would like to get a refund on this please as the toaster broke. This caused comlete chaos i complained at the time
The hotel is beautiful, well presented and the welcome is warm and friendly. The rooms were quite pokey for the price however and the breakfast was lacking. The breakfast staff were very polite but we were often left without cutlery, brought the wrong egg / overcooked eggs and one morning they didn’t come at all. The restaurant in the evening was delicious however. The gym facilities are great and spa area is a nice addition in the colder months!
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. I booked 4 bedrooms for our family group and everyone enjoyed their stay. Slept soundly in the very comfortable luxurious rooms and enjoyed the overall ambiance of the bar and communal lounges. We didn’t have time to visit the spa on this occasion but some of the group loved spa days there previously. The staff were friendly and efficient. Liked the midday checkout as too often these days hotels require 11AM. The hotel entrance had been dressed for Christmas which was extra pretty and the scent of cinnamon and clove was instantly welcoming. We celebrated a happy occasion last night with champagne before heading off to nearby Hawksmoor on St Andrew’s Square, easily walkable and down to Galleries on Dondas street this morning. Walked to Waverley Station for our trains from the hotel in 15 minutes.
The service staff was phenomenal. The hotel was conveniently located, and we felt safe walking everywhere. 10/10 would recommend!!
This was a lovely hotel to stay in. The rooms were comfortable and really clean. The spa was nice and not overly busy. We enjoyed the bar area and wish we had booked at the restaurant before our stay (we couldn't get in it was so popular).
Amazing hotel with amazing staff. Thank you for making our stay perfect. My 1 year old son loved interacting with all the staff who were all happy to give a high five as they walked by!!! Great room upgrade too!!! Thank you! We will definitely stay again!
Fabulous hotel
Absolutely fabulous hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. A short walk away from Princes Street and the Castle. Customer service was faultless. Rooms were clean and super comfortable. Highly recommend a stay at the Kimpton Charlotte Square
Low key hotel in the London tradition. Small lobby, maze of hallways and elevators to rooms, good food and drink, but a bit pricey. Rooms are much larger than expected and very nice. I would stay here again.
Throughly enjoyed stay at the Kimpton whose staff went above and beyond to make our stay very special. Guest Services helped arranging a surprise for my partner with flowers, chocolates and Prosecco on arrival. We had a great weekend in Edinburgh and would hope to stay again in the Kimpton on a next visit.
Great stay at the Kimpton - check in was fast & easy, excellent complimentary happy hour, really lovely interior of the hotel. Great location in New Town Edinburgh - very walkable. Literally everyone we came into contact with at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend & would stay again!
The premium room with a view was absolutely terrible. Very small with no view at all other than a back street with lots of graffiti.
An amazing property that kept blowing me away days into my stay. Will be staying at Kimpton each time I visit Edinburgh.
Clean, well appointed rooms, great location, and superior from desk staff
We had a great stay-front desk reception was so kind and friendly. Bellman came out and met us as our taxi arrived from the train station and carried everything up for us.
