One of the best!

Of al my travels and hotels I stay at, this is on my very top 5 list. The entrance to the hotel is very safe and secure they monitor any taxis or cars that come in and register their information. The staff is beyond helpful and the nicest you can meet. I had unreasonable requests throughout my stay and they helped with all of them. The rooms are clean with a breathtaking view, and all that you need. The food, especially breakfast, is gourmet style and very tasty. The drinks and cocktails are very good too. And the staff will be attentive to your preferences and avoid or add them the next day. I definitely would come back here when I am in bodrum next. Thanks to all the incredible staff, especially Mr. Sami Mr. Mevlut, and Ms. Alessandra. If I were the hotel manager, I’d give every member of the staff a hefty raise :)

Been there before nice views for £890 a night stay didn’t expect dust in rooms service in dinning room slow lots of bird poo on balconies around restaurant and rooms should of been cleaned daily

We spent 10 nights at the hotel just after it reopened for the season. The staff are delightful, so helpful and all keen to make our stay memorable. The beach is great and the sea beautifully clear, although very cold, [refreshing!] We will definitely go back soon.

Location, staff, Sanitas spa (i highly recommend their hammam, an unforgettable experience...) beach, view, their restaurant located in the residences is exquisite. Everythg was amazing. We had a great 5 days holidays that will last forever in our minds.

Was overcharged extras for the children, despite that I had already booked as a family the two rooms on Expedia. No VIP status honored. One of the rooms bathrooms was dirty, as if cleaning staff missed to clean it.

Beautiful location The staff and manager were very helpful The hotel is constructed 16 years ago with no renovations the decor is tired and generally did not look as impressive as the pictures on Internet. The shower in the bathtub is an out of date concept. The room initially shown did not meet our expectations but was upgraded with the help of the kind manager.

This hotel was about a 20 minute cab ride from the main city and about a 5 minute walk to a beach, with a pool on site. The restaurants on site were a bit pricey for what you got and the beds were quite stiff. The staff was very accommodating and there was always someone around if you had a request.

Quiet location. Great views. Expensive restaurants and below quality food.

The layout, mix of pools, sun deck and beach area were very impressive. Wonderful view across the bay and beautiful setting. The choice of restaurants was a bit limited with the Barbarossa Grill being our favourite. Shame it isn’t open every evening though. The general level of English amongst the staff was a bit poor and made communication a challenge at times.

The property is set on beautiful landscape. The view is gorgeous and the beach is clean. The water is clear and crisp. The staff is wonderful and very helpful! Breakfast buffet was filled with delicious food and drinks. Gym has a beautiful view and was fully equipped.

We were greeted by Steffens Opitz (general manager) upon arrival, wonderful property and amazing staff, had breakfast buffet every morning at Olive restaurant and was greeted by Hakan Sezginol (Restaurant Manager) every time I was there , unmatched customer service and attention to details , highly recommended will be back for sure 🙂

The private beach was superb. No hassle, loungers always available and service to your position with great food and drinks.

Dining and drinking prices are extremely high Anything you drink even coffees and tea very expensive

The property is beautiful, our room was spotless, and we really enjoyed our stay. The only thing that wasn't excellent was the service at the restaurants on the property; they were always very courteous, but things felt unorganized at most of our meals. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt as it was early in the season and it seemed they were working to get it together. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Beach is amazing, view of the rooms are gorgeous. Unfortunately breakfast is barely meets expectations, dinner menu is extremely limited- it did not satisfy my expectations at all. Staff is extremely respectful and friendly. Room condition is well. Live music between 8-10pm makes difference. I have shard lots of improvement opportunities about the hotel and services during my visit, the staff took note each of them when i shared. I hope they will be able to address each of them soon. Due to construction on residence side, the noise level was a bit too much sometimes.

Wonderful location overlooking a fantastic bay and superb staff.

An amazing hotel with a magnificent view

We had a wonderful time at this amazing hotel . All the staff were friendly , cheerful and helpful , From receptionists , concierge , waiters , breakfast chef ,to the room service maids ! The view from our room was magnificent ! We’ll definitely come back to this hotel and we strongly recommend Kempinski Barbaros bay hotel to anyone seeking comfort and relaxation ! You will not be disappointed !

One of the best in the Bodrum area

This hotel has a wonderful bay to itself, so is great for swimming. It’s away from the Bodrum crowds, so was perfect for us during the day. At night, it’s a bit quiet, and the crowds are always a cab ride away, if you like a bit more colorful nightlife. The food at the various hotel restaurants is OK. The Asian is probably the best, followed by the mostly Turkish buffet, followed by the Italian place whose food we did not care for too much. The rooms are nice, full seaview ones have the classic Aegean views with blue mountains in the distance. Makes for wonderful sundowners. If you do not plan on going out for dinner to outside the hotel, definitely book the half board plan.

Best Hotel Stay Ever

The best hotel experience we have ever had. Beautiful and clean facilities. Amazing hotel gym (I never thought hotel gyms could be this nice). Wonderful food. The staff in this hotel set the bar so high!!! They define the meaning of hospitality! Loved every minute of my stay! Can ot wait to go back! And... the moonlight at the Barbaros bay!!! Stunning!!!

Beautiful resort with great facilities

This hotel was great. Keep in mind that it is a beach resort and therefore it is away from Bodrum city, but only about a 30 minute drive. Unfortunately the room was not the sea view we had expected. If the information was more specific, we would have chosen a room with a better sea view! There were extended walls on both side of the balcony which obstructed the view somewhat (ok no problem), but the flower/plant arrangement on the balcony was so poorly taken care of! I have attached some pictures for your review... Not sure if this was one of their worse rooms, as the other rooms had nice terraces and perfect seaviews

3-4 star hotel selling as a 5 star, not worth it

The facilities are very nice with a nice pool area, nice beaches and great spa. However the construction of the rooms is very cheap, you hear everything from one room to the next. We didnt sleep as there was someone snoring next room that felt like in our room. When other neighbors were going to the bathroom, same thing unfortunately. Each time someone walked on the floor above, we were getting all of it. Lastly the hotel is too understaffed; while all the staff is very nice and kind, it could take a pretty long time until you get what you ask. We stayed a week so had ample time to get the whole experience. We will not go back and would not recommend it.

Wonderful hotel, even better staff!

Second stay in two years. I can't recommend enough, the food and staff quality is top notch. The beach is somewhat far (10 mins walk or 3-4 mins buggy ride) due to hilltop location - to name a first world problem - but the beach is super nice. Would stay again without thinking.

Amazing hotel close to the beach

Fab hotel! Quiet retreat with amazing SPA faciltities. If you are looking for the perfect and tranquil get away retreat with lots of pampering and amazing staff, this could be for you. Somewhere between Malibu, CA and Laguna beach! Perfect time is June as its not too hot temp north of 90F. Loved It!

Dreamy Hotel in Barbaros Bay

We were greeted with a smile when we stepped out of our taxi until the moment we left. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Highly recommended customer service, views, private pool, breakfast and restaurants are all top quality.

Fantastic location

Wonderful beach, service all round very good with any requests quickly acted upon. As previous reviews state, food and drink was expensive. Restaurants were rather empty but the vietnamese and beach restaurants were very good.

Lovely hotel and amenities but very poor service!!

My husband and I really loved the hotel - it reay does have all you need but the service from staff is appalling. At the restaurants they constantly put pressure on you to buy their bottles of champagne and only offer you expensive water (despite having much cheaper bottled water if you ask!) and if you don't agree to the constant upsell you will be left waiting for your drinks for ages and may have to ask a few times and wait half an hour! This was the same throughout the hotel. You would be relaxing by the pool or in the gym and you would constantly be interrupted by the spa staff trying to sell you packages. It felt like they were all on commission. The best service we had was room service!! I very rarely complain but the service really did put a dampener on our stay. When we arrived for check in at 3pm our room was not ready - despite them asking for our arrival time in advance. Instead of offering us a tour of the hotel and a drink we were left to our own devices and were told someone would call us when the room was ready. They didn't call and instead left it for us to chase! They were late with getting the room ready and a nice gesture would have been to offer us a refreshing drink whilst waiting. They were rude throughout and they set the tone right from the start. We also constantly heard others chasing for their coffee in the morning - one man's family even got up and left the table through sheer frustration of waiting. I would think twice before booking!!

Quite, comfy and unique location

Good location, distant from the crowded Bodrum. Concierge and club car drivers were very helpful and friendly. Front desk staff need to be trained better, limited knowledge of available service (requested the adapter and got the answer - they do not have the adapter, after few minutes asked Concierge and got one). Clean and outstanding service at the spa and the fitness. Excellent the international breakfast and disappointment with the Turkish breakfast at the beach Restaurant (limited choice and poor service).

The hotel is very good as well as the services, beach, facilities, restaurants, and SPA. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The only issue is the bed is not comfortable .

7 nights in paradise with our family of 12

The hotel runs perfectly with English speaking staff all very kind to our grandchildren. Top class food with 60 chefs and excellent Turkish wine red,rose,and white especially the Sauvignon Blanc. All restaurants very different and a great experience in each. I cannot think of one thing to complain about; I wish I was still there.

Great hotel in every way

We really loved this hotel. Apparently we had a "re done" (but only standard level) room which was set up beautifully. Great balcony, a reading nook, very nice bathroom, etc. The entire hotel was great, the breakfast buffet was really good, and the pools were wonderful. The beach is really nice too, with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas. It has lots of pebbles but it's not a big deal and the turquoise water is beautiful. If I HAD to make negatives, I'd say that the rooms were really dry (but the humidity there was low anyway, so it's not a very good dig), and that because of the location and curtain setups, it can get VERY bright, quite early, and the window coverings didn't quite darken enough. Just a little bit of an issue when trying to get into the time zone...

Fabulous hotel! Great time to be there, end of May, not many tourists, great weather. Two days was not enough to take it all in. Turkish bath and stone massage.....mind blowing! Staff were super nice and attentive! Room view was like waking up in paradise every morning. Great breakfast. Everything was fabulous!

Superb Hotel

Superb Hotel, Lovely décor, room immaculate,very efficient and friendly staff. There is a Spa/Wellness centre, also a library available. Ideal for a relaxing holiday as it is about 20 minutes outside Bodrum so a car is a dvisable, although there is a dolmus service that stop outside the hotel.

Great hotel but a little bit corporate

Me and a friend went to Kempinski for a total relaxation holiday and we certainly got that!!! The room was very nice and the service was good (not outstanding though). Note that the hotel is about 30 mins from the town centre and taxis are extremely expensive. There is nothing in the surrounding area apart from other hotels. But at the same time we felt it was very private and away from any hustle and bustle. There was not really a little town nearby unfortunately. So as we stayed for 8 nights this got a bit inconvenient. However it was a very good hotel - the furnishing of the hotel was a bit corporate and maybe a bit stiff....? We loved the little hotel golf buggy that took us from the reception to the beach which was only 10 minutes walk away! The gym facility was excellent although I would have loved some kettlebells but I thought it was very good. The spa services looked very fancy but were very expensive. I would definitely recommend the hotel but maybe not for quite so many nights.... Better to try another hotel in another part of Bodrum as well I think.

5 star hotel

Excellent hotel with fantastic pool and beach facilities

Rest and relax

This hotel is about 30 minutes driving from Bodrum city center. It is a great hotel to rest and relax. The rooms have a very nice view of the sea and they are clean and comfortable. The outdoor infinite-horizon pool is very big and nicely done. There is a bar and three different restaurants in the hotel. The food quality is very good but they are also very expensive. A glass of Grey Goose orange will set you back about $35! The taxi to the city center costs about $30 each way.

Five star hotel on a beautiful private Bay

From check in till check out five star hotel staff Warm, friendly courteous, efficient. Great music on the chillout deck, Ahmet is a skilled bartender who will mix any cocktails you crave. We never made it to the main beach but it looked great, even trees to provide some shade in the sun offered all water sports Room Service does a great Manti, I ordered 2; the Hammam will steam and detox all your stresses away Will definitely return next year

Trying to Reach Premium Status with Amateur Staff

Being one of the most expensive hotels in region it's aspiration to reach premium status unfortunately fails miserably. You cannot simply charge high rates, you have to deliver. Sea and bay is one of the best in Bodrum, but service is ordinary. Staff is new and undertrained. They don't know how to share tables, and orders are delayed. Sundeck bar by the sea doesn't have basic ingredients to prepare even a basic cocktail. Everything comes to beach from the main bar unless you can live with a bottle of beer, but I am not a German. Every order takes half an hour. Saigon restaurant has nothing to do with Vietnamese cuisine, I don't know know why it is named that way. Food was very pricey and bad. There was so much cinnamon in meals that we couldn't taste anything else. Chef must be immediately replaced. AC broke in the room. Such things can happen. They told me that it would be fixed by the time I return from my dinner. Unfortunately when I was back around midnight it was still broken and I had to go to reception to complain (because they thought it was fixed). We switched rooms, but when you are tired in the middle of the night it wasn't really pleasant. The restaurant chief by the beach was quite cocky telling people about his tourism education in London. He better give proper training to the staff before that. Overall this hotel is just a wannabe of premium class but too far from that. I wouldn't recommend.

You leave with great regrets but looking forward to your next visit...complete comfort and great hospitality.

It is nice hotel and it has very good service but is far from the city and everything else so it is recommended to have a car.

A relaxing getaway but not set up for fun

The hotel is beautiful. For the price, the room was a bit small. In comparison to other Kempinski hotels, I was dissatisfied. There were no complimentary water bottles in the room. Everything in the hotel was overly priced. There are no nearby stores or cafes to go to, so we were stuck spending an absurd amount of money for lunch and dinner. Thankfully the breakfast was included. The service was great in some areas, and not so much in other areas. The concierge was excellent. When we first registered, we were not informed of the cocktail hour. When we headed out to the beach area, we were instructed where to go, but ended up walking in the heat for half an hour trying to find the beach. There are no signs leading you to which path to take. When we called the club car, they never came. We had to call them again after 10 minutes, and still had to wait another 15 minutes before one showed up to take us to the beach area. Once we were at the beach, we realized there was no music. So it's definitely not a place to go for fun. The spa facilities looked wonderful though I only got my nails done. And that was nice. During the cocktail hour, the executive chef came to talk to us for a while. So it added a personal touch to it. Overall, the place is beautiful, but way too far from the city. And not enough to do for one who wants to go to have fun.

Tranquil hotel

The resort was nice and the service was friendly but not efficient for example the bill took ages to arrive and it was the wrong bill when it eventually arrived also the food is expensive for what it is and the basic order of service needs working on. It is cheaper to eat at the town centre which is only 20 minutes away by bus which come every 30 minutes outside the resort and us much cheaper then a taxi. The spa is nice with friendly staff but again very expensive. The beach is secluded which is nice and there is call button on every sun lounger if you need anything which is a nice touch. Also avoid buying anything from the hotel shop as it cost me £8 for a bar of chocolate and packet of crisps! Overall friendly staff but expensive food and spa treatments.

Great hotel however .............

This is a great hotel. The negatives are few but need to be mentioned. The hotel is isolated and there is nothing near it.It costs TL 75 each way into town ( GBP 24.00 ) Hotel would benefit from its own shuttle bus. It also means no choice but to eat at hotel. No kettles in room, so it is a call to room service. I needed hot water for medicine and they were great but wish I had brought my kettle. Food and drinks by pool is a 30 - 45 min wait. There is no pool bar or something closer and faster. When most meals are £20, one expects reasonable speed. Ideas would be to have somewhere poolside for drinks,crisps,ice cream. On plus side , the rooms are great with a high level of extra's. The staff are amazing and friendly. Hotel food is very good standard. Hotel breakfasts are one of the best I have had.

Best Hotel around

My husband and I had a week at the Kemplinski. We could not fault the hotel in any way, however, there are two things to mention: The hotel is 15 to 20 minutes from Bodrum, there is nothing else around, its in a very rural position, but in a lovely little bay. Good and regular bus service from the hotel to Bodrum. The food and drinks are very expensive ( around £10, for glass of wine).

Amazingly high quality hotel - sense of exclusivity. Super friendly / helpful staff. Great food. April is very early season in Bodrum and only 1 of the hotels restaurants was open - but we didn't mind that.

Barely open in the "winter"

Didn't think that April was winter, but only 1 (expensive) restaurant was open, and all other facilities / activities were either closed or extremely limited (no boats into Bodrum). Only benefit was a nice suite upgrade, since the hotel was nearly empty.
