Great stay

Had a great stay here for three nights! The lady at the reception was so so helpful and accommodating, nothing was ever too much to ask of her! Great location close to the beach and the room was perfect for the price!

Cute little hotel perfect for a solo traveller. Great location just a couple of minutes walk to Kata beach & main food/shopping area. All the staff were lovely, very welcoming & happy to assist with any needs. This hotel also provides bread for toast with butter & jams & also tea, coffee & fresh water 24/7 in the lobby. Perfect if you have an early pick up booked & nothing is open to get breakfast beforehand. Such a fantastic service to provide.

Great location. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach. Rooms are clean. Sam is great! I would definitely stay there again.

Best stay in Phuket!

This is my 3rd time to Phuket and Kata Bai D is my favorite place to stay at! Sam, who owns the place, is an amazing man. We shared stories over coffee, and he went above and beyond to show me where he grew up in Phuket, and took me on an impromptu street food tour! I will definitely return to Kata Bai D on my next trip.

Amazing staff, great location, clean

Had limited expectations heading in and Kata Bai D blew them away. Extended our stay by 2 nights and after a disappointing accommodation in Ko Phi Phi it felt like home to come back to Kata Bai D for our last night in Phuket. This was the only guesthouse type accommodation we stayed at this trip and while it's not hotel level comfortable it's superior to a hostel. 5 minute walk to Kata beach, restaurants right outside, you can't ask anymore of the location. We had two rooms, one was a suite and one was a studio...both were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Feels more like an apartment than a hotel. Air conditioning and sheets were very comfortable, some noise outside but it did not affect our sleep. Great value for money, and probably the main reason we would come back is the owner Sam. Be prepared to spend some time talking to him as he likes to talk...but he is wise and a very caring guy. Numerous past guests came to visit him during our stay, even if they weren't staying at his guesthouse. He truly goes out of his way to build relationships with his guests and make lasting friendships. Future guests please review the guide he has and treat it like home so we can all continue to enjoy Sam's place (and preserve his sanity).

Best Hotel Services ever

Room was clean. The hotel owner Sam gave us the best services ever. Like arranging for tour for PP island. Taxi booking. Other staffs are very friendly and try their best to help whenever possible. We feel at home all the time. Highly recommended .

Dilapidated old hotel

The hotel is dilapidated and is in poor shape. The bathroom and the bedding were horrible.

Pleasant stay.

The staff were very helpful in offering advice regarding sightseeing etc. The room was compact but comfortable. It was only short walk to the beach. It was very good that there were free beach mats and umbrellas available for guests. Must admit that when we first arrived at the property thought we'd gone to wrong place as the reception area, in my opinion, looked more like a hostel than boutique hotel, however, we had a nice stay.

Hotel is acceptable

Hotel is acceptable Good point: Hotel location is not that far from the beach. Medium points: There is not a real breakfast even if it was included but some snacks along the day. Bad points: Staff not welcoming except the owner. Room very small Room is not that clean, the walls was very dirty and even at the third floor we saw some cafards. Hope I helped you to decide.

Stayed in different hotels. This one is the most clean & comfort one. Recommend!

Wonderful basic hotel. 5 minutes to shopping and the beach, with the best local restaurants just down the road. Sam the owner is an amazing host, and makes everybody feel very welcome. Incredible value for money. Would thoroughly recommend !

Fantastic stay in Kata Beach

Fantastic hotel. Close to beach, shops,restaurants.Very clean and comfortable. Owner Sam is a fantastic host who goes out of his way to help his guests. We will definitely be back next year.

Didn't live up to the hype but good.

I booked here based on the rave reviews about Sam and the staff being so helpful and guests feeling like fa,ily. They were nice, professional and helpful but nothing beyond what we have experienced at other hotels. I don't know if the level of service had changed or if our expectations were set too high. The room was great and kept clean. A lovely perk was having fruit, coffee and toast available all day long.

please call to verify your room size & amenities. My brother & I both requested the same room details, but he got a much smaller room, nearly 1/2 the size of mine, & was not pleased. He eventually choose another hotel for the duration of our stay. However, I enjoyed my room except for the street traffic noise. There is no pool, fitness room, or restaurant on the premises, but the price I paid was worth the deficiencies. The beach, shopping, & restaurants are within a very short walk from the hotel!

Simply the Best!

We loved the proximity of KBD to the beach. We spent 12 days in a suite with great AC. Maid service was IMMACULATE and the hotel was clean throughout. The roof top is perfect for catching morning sun rays! We used a taxi service owned by a husband and wife (Oh and Sai sp?) several times (at super rates) during our stay. Definitely check out the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary; the ONLY one that humanely treats and respects elephants.Sam graciously took us into Phuket town and showed us some interesting sights. Sam recommended the nearby Chai Thai restaurant (excellent!). The only downside had to do with (instant) coffee provided by KBD. However, “The Italian Job” opens at 7am and their coffee is delicious. A few doors away is a local produce stand that makes excellent real fruit smoothies! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kata. Families and couples enjoy holidays in Kata; no proposition of any kind observed. The cost of living is low, so we tipped generously (e.g., KBD staff 40B for room cleaning and gave each one 1,000B before we left, 100-200B for massages/taxis). Folks in Kata are hard-working and hustle for business, but beneath is a genuine kindness and respect…saying some basic Thai expressions and leaving nice tips is a good way of reciprocating that respect. Rent taxi for Big Buddha. Go to Darrin (see Pe, Peem) and Phu (see Jan) massage (and Koko on the beach) for best massages. Sorry, but we only have 1500 characters for a review. So much to say. Great hotel close to the beach!

Loved every part of my stay. The proprietor Sam was a terrific host and very helpful. He was also very kind. If I make it back to Phuket I would definitely come back to this hotel. Thanks for a great holiday Sam and Kee!!

Convenient, clean and extremely friendly hosts

Loved our stay at the Inn, was a great location at an affordable price in peak Christmas period. Close to kata beach, shops, restaurants and bars, we will definitely return. Clean, cozy rooms and super friendly and helpful hosts.

Convenient, Affordable and Friendly

Sam was an Excellent Host and kindly advised me the best way to get around Phuket. The Staff were wonderful and helpful. I Really Loved, the FREE Bananas and Biscuits and Bread they had at reception ALL Day. It was a great, pleasant stay.

Great location

Sam and his staff made us feel very welcome. Sam was Extremely helpful in arranging hotel transfer and island activities. It was so convenient to have beach mats, towels and umbrella available for our short walk to the beach. I would love to stay here again!

True Hospitality

There are some people that you come across in life that are truly hospitable to you. Sam is one of those people. He runs a tight and well-run small hotel, and made my stay in Phuket very comfortable. If you want a quiet and low-key place to stay in Phuket, this is the place to stay. Tim

Budget stay

It's a very bare bones hotel. The rooms are small and toilet and bathroom Are basically as one. The wall had a lot of dirty fingerprints on it as well which was kind of gross when you are sleeping next to it. The owner was very nice, but we had minimal Interaction. Close to food/shops/beach

Could not speak highly enough about this hotel, excellent place to stay. Booked 4 nights and stayed 2 weeks!! We will be back. Wonderful place to land

If you are looking for a place to stay in Kata, look no further. The owner and staff were all very kind and welcoming and created such a great atmosphere for the guests, who would often sit in the lobby and chat with the staff and one another over drinks or coffee or the free snacks and beverages. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. Zero complaints. Great stay!

Fantastic budget hotel close to the beach

This lived up to all the other excellent reviews on Expedia and other review sites. The room was a reasonable size and on a corner so had lots of windows (room 35) so very bright. The toilet/wet room is well laid out and of adequate size. There is an in-room safe, air-con and flatscreen tv as well as a small table and two chairs. Two small complimentary bottles of water are provided in the fridge daily. The fact that tea, coffee, biscuits, bread and jam are provided all day is a really great bonus. Sam the owner is so friendly and helpful, he did all he could to make my stay with elderly parents very comfortable. He even picked my bags up from our previous hotel and was about to drive us to the airport when our booked cab was late though it did turn up and get us there in good time. (Note: Friday evening traffic is bad in Phuket so allow extra time for airport transfers). I have only the highest praise for Sam and his team of staff who made our stay so enjoyable and would always recommend Kata Bai D Inn as a great place to stay if on a budget in Kata beach.

Friendly guesthouse at Kata beach

We had a great time at Kata Bai D. The staff was nice and welcoming. They had bread, fruit, coffee, and tea available 24 hours a day which was very nice. The room was a little bit small, but it wasn't too bad. The bed was really really big, so that was part of it. The bathroom was also a bit small, but we didn't seem to mind too much. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and clean. Overall we had a great stay at Kata Bai D

Excellent location and service

Our stay was comfortable and clean, and Sam the host was kind and welcoming. The beach is a short walk away from the middle of Kata beach. Rooms are not particularly spacious, but clean, inviting, and well-kept. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to stay or relax in Phuket.

I had some awesome days at Kata. The room was absolutely clean and cozy. The staff is friendly. Sam, the owner, is an amazing character that makes you feel at home. They also provide complimentary breakfast/snacks that are available all day long. When I go back to Kata, I'll go back to Kata Bai. Cheers!

På Kata Bai D inn var det som å komme hjem.Fantastisk vertskap, kort vei til stranden, alltid tilgjengelig matbit fra kjøleskapet, kaffe, te inkludert i prisen. Lån av strandhånkler, matter og parasoll. Ingen grunn til å velge andre steder.

La camera è molto grande e spaziosa, unico neo non c'è ascensore pertanto consiglio di chiedere una camera ai primi piani.
