Great location in Kingscote with great views of the water. Also very close to town where there are restaurants and shops.
I was grateful the property was as stated, not either under or over-stated. Were happy to honour our privacy giving us a choice of whether our room was cleaned or not. We were met by a pleasant host, who took the time to show us around. The only thing I would suggest was having screens fixed on the balcony door so the glass door could be left open to enjoy the breeze without the bugs.
Property is in great location. Met our needs.
Staff was friendly. Our room had a beautiful ocean view however, it smelled horrendous. They were fully booked so they gave us air freshener. Still smelled awful.
We stayed for two days, and everything was fine on the first day. There was an option for “making up the room” for the remaining days of our stay. However, I was disappointed to find that the room was not cleaned or maintained on the second day after we returned from our outing. The blankets were left as they were, no utensils were cleaned, the towels were not replaced, and the washroom floor was not cleaned. I believe it would be helpful to clearly specify what “making up the room” entails for multi-day stays to avoid confusion or unmet expectations.
Nothing unique. Just ok accommodation considering limited choices. Amazing ocean view offsets the rooms in need for renovation.
All good
beautiful seaside views, unfortunately the direction couldn't see the sunset and the weather was not suitable for sunrise that day. however, our family enjoyed the dinner that recommended by the front desk.
Great location with views across the bay. Restaurant does not operate anymore. Place needs money spent on maintenance eg door chain broken, shower holder broken, mattress was OK but no pillow top so hard on the hips after a nights sleep, rooms not very sound proof
Was perfectly situated for where we wanted to be
Face to the sea. Clean.
We loved that it was so close to the beach it was fantastic.
Great coffee shops in the vicinity for breakfast. Get to dinner early - most restaurants in the area close at 8 pm
Happy
It was clean quite and comfortable
I never visited this property as such I emailed to cancel in a emergency situation and was charged as such I find that very unfair and would like a refund regards Gaynor.
Great little spot to stay
Pleasant place to stay but a bit dated.
Good value for money, quiet location, spacious room
Convenient spot, large room, comfy bed, lovely walking path along the bay. All we needed was mermaids to complete the package!
We liked the spacious room. We did not like that communication was initiated by us twice over the previous days and weeks and again on the day of our arrival, before the requested after hours check-in details were supplied.
The external and internal doors rattled all night from wind. Had to use a towel and suitcase to stop noise. Could hear other guests outside. Pillows were very flat and uncomfortable.
Location was great, carpet not so clean.
Not having dinning options on the property
Lots of rubble and rubbish Limited reception hours
Great property in a great town. Rooms are excellent and well maintained
Lovely property, very nice location!
Good
A spacious room with nice views over the water. Thanks to the manager who, when it was raining when we left, came out to our car to collect the key rather than have us get out and get wet - a thoughtful act.
De kamer was in orde en we hadden een mooi zicht op de zee
The view was lovely. The room was rustic and quaint. The trash can was filled and stinky. When I informed the manager, he seemed unfazed and was not friendly. In light of this former issue, I think I was overcharged. Also, because Jet Star cancelled my flight, I did not stay my first scheduled night.
Clean and tidy with plenty of space. Reasonable value.
Nice inn
KI Seaside Inn is a nice little inn. It is a little outdated but the view is excellent, the price is reasonable, the atmosphere is cozy. A great inn in a small town.
Lovely large king bed room with lounge chairs, plenty of space, lovely views, quiet, comfy bed, large bathroom.
Great place to stay. Quiet and beautiful setting with views on the sea from every room.
What a find!! We had the best view of the bay. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Older hotel but in very good repair and spotlessly clean.
The hot water was not operating in the shower and had to be restarted and the restaurant as promoted on the site was permanently closed so no food was available for dinner or breakfast
The room was clean but highly not comfortable. Every time you used the bathroom, the door knob hit you from behind. The beds are aged and very lumpy. There are better placed to stay on the island for similar rates.
The ocean view from my room.
Staff friendly and helpful, close to town. Condition of motel fixtures and grounds cerainly need more upkeep.
It is a very dated motel with the 1970 s decor. The room is small with somewhat depressing colour scheme.
Good location. Great views. Friendly service
Liked the cleanliness. Comfortable beds and pillows. Liked dining option.
Room was fairly fine considering the price and very clean. Bathroom was very old and definitely needs updating.
Great location. Lovely, quaint view.
Very Good
Friendly courteous staff, good outlook over water
The room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. We heard no noise. The bathroom is tiny, shower curtain, but clean, adequate enough.
Beautiful views from the room & walking distance to township. Young couple running the Seaside Inn are doing a great job.
Need kill bugs
Hotel under major reno's/modification. Should be much improved when completed.
At the moment they are improving the surroundings which will add to the motel
Lovely views over the sea and kangaroo island. No toaster in rooms.
Great motel to stay at. Nice and clean and neat. Nice view. There was a technical issue with our tv but everything else was good.
Gardens could b maintained, and pressure clean concrete around balconie
It's convenient for shop, eat and the view of ocean is fantastic. But it's far from the interesting places.
Place is fine, but be aware that if you are opting for a pay-later booking, the hotel charges you the card transaction fees. This is not informed at any point in the booking, nor through their messages or during check-in. Not picky about the few extra $$, but it is about not being upfront/transparent in their dealings.
Nice view but the room is old.
No one at reception even during reception hours. Called the phone number but no answer, left a voicemail but no call back. Sat in my car had to wait to check in. Very basic amenities and old fashioned interior. Could hear water running, the tv and phone ringing in the room next door. Much better accomodation in Kingscote than this
Property's location was the only thing which was good, there was no staff or intercom service if you needed anything, due to some covid situation i was told the restaurant was closed which is understandable however one day after when a big group came the restaurant was opened again which I wasn't made aware and told that If i needed something I could get it , which was not very pleasing. Carpets on the floor was shredd to threads at multiple patches, rooms indoor was not the way it looked in the pictures. I wouldn't pay $150 a night just for a sea side view, room's condition or the room service was not up to expectations( rather no one ever came back and asked for any service needed except one receptionist who was kind when we reached there to provide us the keys and towels) I guess I was given the worst room based on the price paid
The staff go above and beyond offering us a lift into Kingscote restaurants since there are no taxis or buses on the island. Anything we asked for was done. We had a tasty Indian dinner there one night. Comfortable room and friendly, helpful staff.
Great views from balcony, shame about no dining facilities as not many options in Kingscote at the moment. Overall room was clean but air conditioner and bathroom exhaust filters filthy and clogged up. We cleaned them ourselves and then they worked fine.
Overall a daily decent hotel.lots of parking easy access good space just abit on the older side other then that was a good stay staff were polite and easy to talk to. Not a fan of having to book my breakfast the night before so simply just didn’t. Good selection of food with onsite Indian restaurant had a couple of simple kid options nuggets and burger I’m fairly sure
Rooms are very large and clean and all have water views. The property is quite Basic but staff were delightful and helpful. I could easily walk to and from town centre bar and supermarket. Recommended.
.
Easiness to walk to main town
Convenient to parkrun
The product was clean and well presented
Walking distance to pubs and cafés
Friendly people to check-in and check-out. Fulfills our all requests we ask.
A cheap stay for KI standard, but that’s pretty it. The place is filthy 1) mold around bathroom tap, easily visible, but weren’t cleaned by the hotel. Bathroom smells badly too. 2) Towels and beddings don’t look clean, I had to manually dust off the weird particles human HAIR from in between the sheets. It was so gross. 3) woke up with a cluster of red bite marks on my left leg, which was not there before going to bed. ??bed bugs?? 4) check out time is 10am. At 9.30, I was nake in the room & putting on sunscreen before heading out. A staff (cleaner I presume) just opened the room door with her key, then walked out when realising there are still people in it, without out a knock on the door or an apology!!! This made me so angry & We couldn’t even lock the door from inside. 5) very noisy, you can hear every thing that’s happening in this building. Need ear plugs before braving yourself to stay here.
Rooms were modern-ish, well laid out, comfortable. Restaurant was also really good. Didnt like the room cleaning service - overlooked one day and minimal done the next.
very good location nice and specious room. I would highly reccomend this hotel. Room service can be improved but overall we had a great time.
What u see in photos is not what you get. Poor and terrible bathroom layout and not per advertised in pictures. Payment deducted 7 days early despite advised to pay at property. Food at the restaurant was basic and tasteless. Likely that it was cooked in bulk and stored. Indian bread was hard and rubbery to chew. Refrigerator was old, noisy and not properly sealed hence ineffective. Staff was kind yet arrogant and putting reservation related issues at Expedia rather than acknowledging the shortcomings. Never going back.
Unfortunately the shower had hair in it when we arrived, the beds had lollies under them for previous guests. Due the fact that it’s very hard to buy anything after lunch time, there are no facilities outside like a bbq to be able to cook dinner, this makes it very hard when travelling with children.
OK PLACE TO STAY
was average like 3 star accommodation. price was ok mid week but too high friday and saturday nights
Walking distance to town centre…very pleasant reception
This property was clean and well maintained. Great view of the ocean
Beautiful view. Spacious rooms. Best Indian food I’ve ever had!
The staff were young friendly and helpful. They went out of their way for us. Much appreciated when travelling with a young baby.
Very enjoyable stay
Everything was clean and tidy, the rooms were a bit dated and cold at night.
Staff are super friendly, best indian restaurant, great views.
The food was special. Indian not hot with so much flavour. The chef makes you feel welcome for breakfast or dinner. Great local Dudley wines. Definitely worth a stay Tiff
Quite , comfortable and friendly service
Nothing to get in to the room was very hard for my mum who uses a walking frame normally no guard rails and paths were not great at
Lovely sea views, staff very helpful. Restaurant at the hotel was delicious!!! Best Indian
The view from our room was lovely however only half the curtain could be opened to enjoy it. Service of the room was hit and miss - we were given 1 full bottle of water and one half (ie used by someone ) bottle when we arrived, this was replaced by 2 full bottles after 4 days in the unit. Coffee sachets and tea bags were provided, but sugar was allowed to run our - had to ask for more (only use 2 sachets each time we had coffee and tea). The on-site restaurant is Indian and serves beautiful food for dinner but our one attempt at breakfast was disastrous so gave that a miss for the rest of our stay. Book keeping was a mystery - was told that meals would be charged to our room and we would pay on check out - fair enough. Come checkout time none of our meals had been added; had to ask about payment for them!
Great place to stay with ocean views and friendly staff.
I like the view from the balcony other than that it's old and needs total renovations
The location is great, right on the beach & very close to town. However, the rooms are dated & in severe need of refurbishment! Our bathroom came straight out of the 60s!
Lovely 3star hotel in a good location opposite the beach. We had our ferry cancelled and they were very accommodating with us ( except I did not get a refund for the night I missed) but the key was in the door as we arrived at 8am in the morning. Good breakfast and excellent Indian meal for dinner. Sam looked after us very well. Hint: Please slide the sign on the door or you wont get your room cleaned during your stay.
Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, great views from the room and beautiful shady cool breeze to enjoy a cuppa in the morning and to relax at the end of the day.
Won’t be goodbye but see ya later !
This place was unreal, great staff and place was the best location and view.
Walkable distance to one of the most swimmable beaches
great location nice and cordial staff very small room
Excellent
Very friendly staff great location very peaceful I would recommend this place as a great place to stay
Very nice inn!We had a great time here and the price is so reasonable! I do suggest my friends to choose this inn.
Seaview Inn
Great location on Kangaroo Island. Great ocean views. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities.
Lovely sea views easy access and close to town. Lovely walk along coast path to jetty and hotel.

This property was clean, basic and all you need for a cheap stay over whilst visiting the island. The rooms are dated, and reminded me of early Mr Dirk Diggler movie sets. Though once you're inside, you have all the basic amenities including a fridge, table and chair to work from, reclining leather chairs. It was comfortable, the bed was very comfortable. The location was surprisingly quiet except the noise of nature/wildlife. It was a very pleasant stay and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Though you need to check in before 6:30pm as I believe staff leave, though they leave instructions on how to get your key after hours. The only downside was the TV didn't work during my stay, no biggie as free wifi and laptop solved that problem. I learned on checkout that I could have called reception (they do operate after 6:30pm) to have it reset. There's no breakfast here either, so finding somewhere that was open for breakfast was challenging as the island is geared towards tourism. Again, the helpful reception signposted me some possibilities where to go. So if you're travelling and on a budget, you can't go wrong with this little gem. Thank you for making my stay comfortable.
