Convenient location and quiet.

Quiet and clean

Cabin is tired and the lounge appeared to be dirty. Check in was not done personally but via phone text….. “cabin is unlocked and key is on the table”. From our cabin we had a great view of the rubbish bins, highlight was when a group of kangaroos visited the bins. Without a car I would have considered it to be too far from the township to shop or dine out. No outside facilities like a BBQ or even a laundry. Not a place I would return to.

Place was perfect for a quiet stay. Clean and so convenient for a weekend.

Check in was disappointing. Dave was meant to text details to me but apparently sent them to a wrong number. When I arrived I called the required number and it went to voicemail. I got a call back some hours later.

Regular visitors to KI (5 times per year) but first stay at this location. Perfectly positioned for access to any part of the island. Quiet, beautiful and peaceful setting. We will definitely stay here again. The only negative thing is the size of the shower!!!! I have been in a telephone box larger than cabin 5 shower. Overall- FANTASTIC

Quiet location, short drive to kingscote.

Lovely quiet spot with lots of wildlife, great place to recharge the batteries. Would definitely stay again and we will be recommending it as a place to stay.

Great setup and well spaced from other units. Could use a bigger TV .Helpful staff.

Clean, had heating, and Georgia was able to communicate quickly with any queries I had.

The ferry was cancelled 2 days in a row due to bad weather. We had paid for a 3-day stay. Management took all 3 days deposit as we had to cancel less than 24 hours before our due date. To forfeit 1 night is understandable but to take 3 days for no service is very unfair. These were circumstances beyond our control Advise others to book 1 night and then make a separate booking for subsequent nights

Served the purpose for us. It is quite old but functional. We found it a bit congested despite 2 bedrooms for 3 adults. Hosts are very helpful and communication was excellent. Overall we'd a pleasant stay. We're amazed to see Roos grazing

Had all the facilities we needed on a quiet and beautiful property. Plenty of wildlife and was only a minutes drive from Kingscote. Great if you’re after a simple and relaxing getaway.

Quiet, treed rural environment. Clean cabins with well-appointed space between each. Kangaroos and wallabys on-site.

There was no hot water in the kitchen sink, the reverse cycle air conditioner was very noisy, and stuck in full fan speed, very difficult to sleep at night, with the heater on...When we arrived, we had no information about our cottage number, as it was not communicated to us by email or phone. We had to ask, outgoing customers, who told us to ring a specific number.

Cabins untidy and pack of utilities. Communication is poor.

A bit small. Air conditioner did not work well, but they resolved it quickly. It was good value for Kangaroo Island.

Would go there again

Our stay was comfortable. The owner is incredibly helpful and really lovely. The only thing is the description included a DVD player, but one wasn't available. Apart from that we enjoyed our time.

Sensible price value for money

The cabin was everything I hoped for and expected. Clean and placed in a quiet setting near everything I needed. A great place to base myself for 4 days of photography on Kangaroo island.

Good location, decent size cabins. Good for a family stay. Dated decor, poor quality double bed. Cabin showed plenty of general wear and tear and there was a disappointing lack of attention to detail with cleaning.

Wonderful stay and fabulous hospitality.

It was very cool seeing the wallabies feeding during dusk.

Bad smells

There was awful smells in the cabin. Ours smelled like sewage. Our travel companions smelled like burning/oil I assume from heater. Location was good, and beautiful place.

Perfect location! 5 mins from Kingscote. We liked the cosy vibe. Wasn’t very clean and didn’t have a hot water tap in the kitchen. Hot water in the shower didn’t last long either.

It shuld locate where the visitor can see the ocean view

The cabins were well appointed and I liked the location. There was a broken glass in the cupboard and there was some dust around but overall I enjoyed my stay

The advertised property shows wooden cabins. When I reached, I was disappointed to see container cabins. One of the alloted cabins was stinking like sewerage. This was pointed out to the manager and was assured that a plumber would attend the issue but this never happened while I was there for 4 days. Had to sleep with bathroom exhaust running with windows open for the whole duration of the stay. Otherwise expansive property with open fields and close to Kingscote.

The hot water did not work and no urgency was made by operator to fix it, or any other of refund. Basic but comfortable cabin

It was ok. The toilet started smelling though even with the vents switched on. We were at the end of a row of cabins. We were perhaps near the septic. So perhaps request bot for that cabin. It was cabin 10 I think.

loved the setting of the cabins private and a real rural feel and easy access to the town and local places

Fridge and oven were only small. ( bar fridge) did food shopping for 4 nights and could fit much in fridge. Power kept tripping on christmas night so took forever to cook roast in small oven. tv very small and only 1 sofa to sit. Fine for 2 people but for 2 adults and 2 kids not a lot of room or comfortable seating.

First time at a cabin

Place is clean. Hot water is limited and aircon is not useful. However overall is satisfying.

Really bad smell from the drain in the bathroom. Not really that clean. Cups, plates etc needed a good clean before we used them. Bring a good fry pan with you. The place really needed a deep clean. Great place if you want to get away a few animals passing by!

Great accommodation

Great location, central to the whole island. Good quality furniture, lighting, heating and hot water. Not to be faulted.

We loved the simple cabin and the location close to Kingscote but a country property with kangaroos browsing at night.

Quiet cabins long walk from Kingscote.

Nice quiet cabins a short drive from the airport. We got a transfer from the airport but didn't have a car. It's a long walk-- 45 minutes-- to get to Kingscote. Wouldn't recommend for a long stay without a car but th cabins were nice and it would be a good place to relax for a few days. Manager was not on site when we arrived mid-afternoon but there was a sign to call with a phone number and she told us which cabin was set up for us. Easy in the end, but make sure you have a phone that can make local calls!

Nice quiet environment.

One night stayover, Bed was comfortable, contacted owner for assistance to operate heater and owner was very helpful.

Room very clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was to small and NO cooking facilities.

Nice cabin near Kingscote

Kangaroo Island Cabins are in a quiet and private location. We were hosted in a nice cabin, a bit rustic but very clean with everything we needed. We were happy to be advised by the staff for restaurants in Kingscote. We definitely recommend the cabins for a stay on Kangaroo Island.

Good value and location

The cabin suited us perfectly - simple, clean, all we needed, good value for money, great location for exploring the island. Georgia had the cabin warmed and lit up for our late evening arrival.

Nice and super quiet

Very nice location in open meadows. Cabins are clean, well apart, with wallabies outside. 4km from Kingscote in the direction of Penneshaw

Great Cabins at a Good Price

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kangaroo Island Cabins. Very friendly greeting upon our arrival and we found the cabin very spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Fully equiped kitchen and free laundry facilities which we appreciated after 4 weeks travelling.

Clean But!

Clean, but TV so small and so far away was impossible to tell who was speaking. Shower was the smallest ever encounted. Curtain always in your face and hard to turn around. Toasted didn't work, replacements cord extremely short had to put toaster on a box so it could reach the power point. Similar problem with kettle. No electrical appliances tested and tagged. Fire extinguisher not checked since 2008. Fridge had a large build up of ice reducing space available, so much so the plastic door on freezer fell of on arrival.
