Expected more from this stay. Restaurant serves great food the room is big but there is a construction work ongoing on site. There is no info about that anywhere. The soak experience needs to be booked in advance ideally for each day of the stay (hotel only recommends one booking as the rest can be sorted while there). Otherwise you need to rely on other guests cancellations. There are no outside seatings with the view on the lake.
Beauty views
Average experience. The front desk was not friendly or helpful when needed. I won’t be coming back to this hotel or recommending to anyone for their service. On the other hand the restaurant has a nice view (but small area) the staff were caring and nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the view we had was the parking lot… Also there is a construction going on right on the hotel site.
Fantastic hotel with great views of the hills and lake, lovely soaking tubs and excellent restaurant. Bed was comfy.
We came to Queenstown, my second time but not for years and my hubby and 2 kids first time - we had the BEST time didnt want to leave! Kamana was so beautiful - amazing views, great loca food, and clean comfortable rooms For us, we didn’t mind it being located in Fernhill which is just up and out of the Queenstown centre - as we would walk down to the city centre through the forest every morning and then catch a bus or taxi back up the hill at night - but for those who want quick or flat access to the centre bear jn mind Kamana is located up higher - that’s what gives the spectacular views!!! Nest the restaurant had delicious food - the breakfasts were incredible and we also had the degustation dinner which was fantastic - kids loved it too - only minor suggestions would be that bacon or avo be included as an option for kids eggs in the morning (as it is for the adults) and perhaps some yoghurt alongside the cereal and fruit - but the food offered couldn’t fault it - absolutely LOVED the homemade crumpets with sautéed field mushrooms/spinach and almond ricotta. Ambience was calm, warm and stylish - great architecture and interior design. The focus is on the sensational views. We had 9 and 5 year old boys with us and they loved the hotel also - all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Want to also thabk the cleaning staff as they alway would pop my son’s Mario toy on the bed for him each day ready for his night time sleep - very sweet!
Warm, cozy, very chic!
We celebrated an engagement at the Kāmana Lakehouse and honestly it se the tone for our whole trip. It was so lovely to come home to such a cozy and chic hotel. The fires roaring in the lobby, the views from the restaurant, it all made for a very warm experience. The staff were very friendly! We didn’t get to experience the soaking tubs because they were in high demand, so we suggest booking your soaks ahead of time!
Cozy and charming spot
This place was really nice and so cozy! The views are excellent. It’s a but further away from the busy area of queenstown so it’s a nice spot for a quieter area. I was so obsessed with the shampoo and conditioner I bought some to take home.
Our room with a lovely Mountain View unfortunately was behind a building site with a huge crane shoring our view. The restaurant meal was underwhelming. We prefer to stay at a hotel closer to the restaurants & shops
The service was exceptional and catered well to our toddler. Thank you so much
Beautiful property with lovely views.
Beautiful property.
Lack of Accommodation for ongoing Construction
I booked this trip for my husband and I along with 4 of our friends. What I didn’t know until the day after we arrived that nearby there was a major construction project underway. There was no mention of it on the Hotels.com website otherwise I would have never booked the rooms there. The hotel did point out that it was posted on their website but shame on me for not checking. Really? Given the expense we were incurring and flying a long distance to arrive there the hotel could have sent us a message beforehand as I was later told the construction had been ongoing since March of 2024. The hotel did let us depart a day early without penalty but really didn’t offer any other form of compensation which was extremely disappointing. When I did speak to the manager, Christine, she did offer to comp dinner for us that night but we were already seated at a local restaurant for dinner while I was speaking to her of the phone. I really felt the manager could have compensated us in some way and even mentioned waving the breakfast charges but she wouldn’t. The hotel was very noisy all day long with constant thumping of the equipment and the dining room windows in view of the construction cranes so they could have done much more to accommodate us for the price we paid. Would never return.
The Kamana is lovely and luxurious. Our room was large and beautifully decorated. We loved the fluffy robes and comfy bed. The lounge is gorgeous and the restaurant has outstanding view of the lake and mountains. We arrived after a backpacking trip and sat in the lounge area (also with great views) for a delicious dinner from a varied menu (great wines too). A huge plus is the complimentary private soaking tub session for guests (be sure to book well in advance). Parking is free. Also, the staff are extremely attentive and helpful. We stored a few bags with them for several days while backpacking and they had moved them into our room before we arrived. There are a few downsides: The location isn't walkable to downtown Queenstown so bring your car. Also, there's a lot of construction going on at their adjacent sister property. It blocked some views (though not the restaurant/lounge), was quite loud during work hours and the equipment, at times, blocked parking access and made driving in/out a challenge. Once that's complete, this will be a five star experience.
Great staff, beautiful location and clean property
We were very friendly with the reception staff and yet they gave us a room with a bad plumbing smell that they had tried to disguise (my wife worked in the hotel business) We asked to be moved and this was done in 10 minutes. De Gustation dinner was amazing as is the view from the restaurant. Our overall impression is that the staff were not empowered by the manager to respond to customer requests without referring to management. At breakfast the waiter said he was “going to check if we were entitled to breakfast” This is not what you expect in a hotel where you are spending over $500 USD.
Beautiful property ina gorgeous location
Very nice rooms and restaurant. There is a bit of construction at the moment between the hotel and the views though. Otherwise very nice place.
Our view from our Lakeview Room was totally spoilt by the massive construction site right below our balcony. Very noisy and total lack of privacy given that workers were barely 50 ft away from 8am to 6pm! When we queried the front desk about the situation, they were sympathetic, but the solution was we could move to a non-lake view room and be reimbursed the difference in price! When this occurred at a previous hotel, they had the courtesy to send an email that warned us, as upcoming guests, of the situation. The Kamana Lakehouse would be well advised to do the same!! It really was terribly disappointing.
Excellent, clean, modern and beautiful location
Loved the views from the restaurant and our room.
Great views. Right on the bus line. Room was terrific
Excellent views
There is construction going on in front of the hotel which woke us up at eight in the morning. The hotel itself is very beautiful and the grounds are very nice other than the construction
Magnificent views
A magnificent hotel overlooking the mountains and lake. The lake room was gorgeous, loved it!
Great place and beautiful view. The soundproofing was great which is necessary as the car park is just outside.
Friendly welcome from reception staff. Very helpful. Room was good size and had everything that you required. Exceptional view. Restaurant was fully booked so recommend that you book in advance. However we were accommodated in the bar lounge. Good choice of wine and bar snacks that sufficed as an evening meal. Comfortable bed. Rainfall shower with lovely toiletries. Again book the hot soak tubs in advance. Restaurant for breakfast was delicious and again great service.
Convenient location close to city center. Better location if you’re bringing car though, there’s onsite parking. Also has hot tub that you can book.
Nice property with very friendly staff and good restaurant with great view of the lake. We enjoyed our stay. Worth noting that there is construction work going on adjacent which we were not aware of when we booked but this did not affect us too much.
Construction around the facility, that definitely hampered our stay- was not disclosed when booking the rooms. The views from the common area are epic. The staff are lovely
Lovely base with parking for Queenstown, Glenorchy and the rest. Cosy vibes and clean and fun with the included hot tubs over Lake Wakatipu!
Meh for the price
View from our balcony was only ok, could only see the lake if you scooted all the way to the left. Also, could not accommodate early check in or late check out.
Total scam, and unfriendly staff. DO NOT STAY HERE
Great location. Small rooms with minimal appointments.
Great place
Beautiful property. Staff were friendly and helpful. The soak hot tub and breakfast were both excellent.
The staff was great. We were able to quickly get into a free soak in their spa. The views were amazing in our room. The rooms are set up very nicely. Only downside of this location was the construction that was going on in front of the hotel. It wasn’t disruptive in our room, just downgraded the view a little.
Property was clean well-maintained and staff were friendly. The construction outside was unfortunate during the soak. Parking was also difficult at times. The room was beautiful and had many new amenities would highly recommend.
The hotel was lovely. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Amenities were great. Hotel restaurant was great, food was delicious & the view of the lake was lovely. Our room was very spacious. We would definitely recommend staying here .
An amazing place with stunning views from the balcony! The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly. Our family of four stayed for four nights and had a great time. It’s less than a 5-minute drive from Queenstown city center, and parking is available on-site. The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub. We’d love to visit again!
Overall the property was very nice but the construction and all machinery going on wasn't to happy. If we knew construction was happening we would of booked else where
Clean and modern rooms. Loved the ability to cast video from smartphone to the television. View from the lounge can’t be beat!
Awesome hotel, super friendly stuff, view is the best in town!
Good stay overall. Room service was super quick. Quality of the room was pretty good. Nest restaurant is a great restaurant within the property that offers a good food and drinks menu.
Rooms were fresh, very clean and well appointed. Dinner/breakfast at restaurant were excellent
Our room is very spacious and clean. The restaurant has a very beautiful lake view and its food is very delicious. Its lounge is very cozy.
Really nice rooms and shared areas, but they seemed rather small. You really needed to be on top of it if you wanted to eat dinner at the hotel because it booked out. Town wasnt too far by car but would have been far by foot or bus.
Amazing experience at Kamana Lake house. The staff was fantastic, the location was perfect, and the views were absolutely stunning.
What an amazing restaurant where casual dress is normal! And what a view, though new construction below is temporarily affecting some of this...
Beautiful Property
Lovely scenic view of the lake, beautiful, relaxing & clean property, loved the private soaking tubs. This was the perfect stop for R&R during our South Island road trip. Only downside is the construction going on near the property right now, but this is out of their control. My advice, just book the soaking tub for after 6pm after the construction is finished for the day!
I love the soak. It’s perfect
Beautiful, clean, luxury, friendly staff
Customer service was great! Everything kept very clean. And we appreciated the extra blankets for the cold nights. Definitely recommend the restaurant too!! 😍
but when things start out incorrectly and the staff does everything to correct that’s the mark of excellence! We were so impressed with the staff and the positive culture of this community
The hotel has beautiful views to the Remarkables and it is well located despite the fact that one has to walk up the Fernill Road to get there. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby and the hotel provides hot bath soaks that are relaxing and soothing. The staff at the hotel went further mile to help in whatever was needed. The food is the hotel restaurant is delicious and well prepared, although I found that the breakfast included was A La Carte and the food offering was limited. The hotel is close to a convenience store and two small restaurants (Fish & Chips shop and the Lokal Bar & Restaurant). I recommend staying there.
Very comfortable room. Excellent location with great views. Restaurant food was very good.
Absolutely amazing. Our favourite place and looking forward to staying again soon
We enjoyed the convenience of the location, the amenities (spa, drying room) of the property and the friendly, professional staff that looked after us. Everything about the stay was very smooth and easy even with two little ones with us.
This property is a must stay!
A thoroughly comfortable and enjoyable stay. The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
The actual stay at Kamana was good, and the view is amazing but just note they are doing construction right now so it blocks your view. Everything was okay with my stay and the Kamana soak was also amazing, although we had food poisoning from the food. We hadn’t ate anywhere else other then from there restaurant and we had food poisoning, non-stop for 3 days , which was how long we stayed there. And to note their food is very expensive as well, they sell very small portions of meals , which is not worth the price. Also to note the menu doesn’t even have pizza or any comfort food options, which limits your options. And finally, i let the staff know about the situation of food poisoning and they said they would take off the food amount that was charged, although they called and claimed they accidentally charged it. Although the stay was nice and the room was particularly okay but do not recommend for big families, (as the room is a bit small then advertised), and they do not provide enough toilet paper nor water . Other then that, if you are looking for somewhere to stay with a nice view then kāmana is great but i do not recommend eating any food from there, the staff were also helpful and nice.
Great place to stay in Queenstown!
Such a great place. Amazing views from the restaurant/spa. Very nice and attentive staff. High quality everything. Hope we come back one day.
Very nice stay
Great views from dining area
Staying at Kamana Lakehouse is always a pleasure! The food is impeccable and the service is always top-notch! We love staying there and would recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury escape in Queenstown.
Loved it
My husband and I booked this for a week while we were in Queenstown and loved it. The restaurant had delicious food and we were able to enjoy the soak tubs a couple of times. I would definitely stay here again!
The view was great. The spa pools were great with views. The rooms were a bit smaller than we thought. No toilet brush. Fridge was very small and not cold enough. No movie channel, or foxtel. The rooms were warm at night. Karl & Sam Australia.
Nice clean property. Friendly staff and great amenities. There is construction going on out the back which was annoying when trying to enjoy the soak spa. The construction could also be heard during business hours from the room. Plenty of car spaces but can be hard to get parking if arriving back later at night. Over all a nice property with amazing views and helpful staff.
Waking up to a beautiful view of Lake Whakatupuranga was the most memorable part on my stay. Can’t thank this place enough, we will return for much longer of a stay. Thank you Kāmana Lakehouse! 😊
Really lovely staff that went above and beyond. Beautiful view - very comfortable and safe accomodation with a local convenience store and bar that is a 2 min walk away.
Great place to stay
Amazing place to stay. Super comfortable and clean. Beds were really good to sleep in. Spa was also unreal. Will be back
Welcoming and luxurious service. Enjoyed the soaking facilities and delicious breakfast. Great location, easy to take public bus to CBD and airport. Also worth going on walking trail into CBD.
Good place to stay. Great service. Aircon unit couldn't keep up so the room was fairly cold. Doors need proper sealing. Construction site nearby prevented a few things.
Another amazing stay here A
Beautiful location, friendly, helpful staff, clean & comfortable rooms that were stocked perfectly with everything you would need. Most importantly, the views cannot be beaten. We loved our time there!
Stayed here 5 nights. Very comfy beds inclusive of pillow choices. A stunning scenic walk 25-30min to Queenstown centre. Dining area has incredible views of the Remarkables and lake.
Loved the views and friendly staff
We had the room facing the lake and it’s amazing! Definitely the best hotel during our trip in New Zealand. The hotel is situated 2km outside of the city centre so you will need a car. But it’s worth it. Clean, good service and comfortable! The nest restaurant also serve great breakfast and dinner! Highly recommended!
The bathroom facilities need to be improved. much water is spilled out of the shower area even though we have tried to direct the shower head as inward as possible already. Much water on the floor after shower and need to clean up every time
The staffs are friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom are clean and tidy.
Beautiful setting, amazing views, beautiful interior design and loved the hot tub!
Beautiful stay!
Had a beautiful stay at Kamana! My partner and I wanted to escape for the week. We stayed in a Remarkable’s room for 3 nights and then moved to a Lakeview on our last evening for my partners birthday. The team left him a lovely birthday note and block of chocolate which was so appreciated. We also loved the soak! The only downside is the construction happening below the hotel but we didn’t feel it impacted our stay.
A very beautiful and relaxing place
Beautiful place to stay and workers were so good and pleasure made the stay beautiful
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Amazing customer service, beautiful rooms and views, excellent restaurant and breakfast, beautiful hot tub experience - all round was very satisfied with my stay and would come back again.
Excellent property and great staff. Great cocktails. Nice hot tubs. We loved our stay.
The property looks out to a construction site. Lake view room was more like a construction view room. No spaces for any of the amenities like dinner tables or soak tubs. Far from town so could not just walk to another restaurant. Don’t stay here, it isn’t worth the money and isn’t very nice.
To put it simply; all the staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in through the doors. This one sticks in my mind for being one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The food is excellently, backed up with amazing views. Everything you could want from a stay.
Lovely spot
The rooms are getting a bit shabby the walls need a paint & the carpets need shampooing, overall very comfortable a bit over priced. A nice quiet area to stay, a bit out of the main CBD. The restaurant was fabulous, great staff
Nice property, but not sure for the price.. rooms had a bit of a motel feel.
Excellent!!
It is very good hotel
This hotel is a perfect way to relax if you’re traveling. It is a 3 minute drive to the city centre, which was great for us because we prefer staying somewhere quiet. The views are fantastic - I would highly recommend booking at least a partial lake view. We spent a good deal of time out on our balcony. They also have a good restaurant and hot tub so you don’t really need to leave often unless you want to. Staff are very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Worth the stay.
Beautiful and comfortable room. Staff was awesome, they even helped thread a needle. Breakfast was included in our package but the second day we had to leave before breakfast was served. We requested a boxed breakfast and it was amazing. Juice, apple, banana, yogurt, small sandwich, granola bar and 3 small pastries. Yummy! In room coffee and tea was superb and refrigerator was a nice amenity. Beautiful views and plenty of complimentary parking.
One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Very modern yet cozy. Great view of the lake. Restaurant was outstanding with delicious food for breakfast and dinner, wonderful service and beautiful view of the lake. We plan on visiting Queenstown in the future and would definitely stay at this hotel
Na
I would recommend and come back
Nice hotel
Great location, good breakfast would stay again

Great property and great food.
