Great rooms, service was excellent. On site Chinese restaurant had me visiting several times. Location is great, close to everything you would need access to.
Great hotel and easy to get to F1 race on line 2, then line 11 right to track. It takes almost two hours due to metro stopping at every station and line-ups but I would stay here again. Club room was amazing with Pudong and river views and super customer service and superior club lounge. Enough food for dinner Ni each night.
Excelent hotel
Great place nice people
An awesome visit to Shanghai.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The lounge on the 38th was a nice place to unwind after a long day of seeing the sites. The views were amazing!
Very good location and friendly staff.
One of my best stays in a hotel ! Recommend this location to any travellers visiting Shanghai!
Overall experience of this hotel is good, except it's a bit outdated.
Great location, staff is friendly and they speak English, hotel is getting old but it’s still in good conditions.
The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was excellent- large, spotless, and comfortable. Everyone on the staff was exceedingly nice. And the price was reasonable for the quality and location of the hotel.
Needs an update but the location was great
Excellent hotel in good location
Very helpful staff. I left my ear phone. They contacted with me and expressed the item to me.
We only stayed a night but the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel seems well located. Views were amazing from the room and lobby.
很不错,环境好,服务好,早餐好
Excellent hotel, most impressive is the huge area of multiple functions such as the corridor to the pool. Obviously the view is the best
Good convenient location and attractive facilities with city views.
Wonderful view, very helpful staff.
Wonderful Hotel with amazing view, premium lounge has great selection of food and drinks after 5pm, staff are always ready to help when you need them.
HOTEL DESCUIDADO, HABITACIONES OK DESAYUNO BUFFET. HAY MEJORES.
Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly! Room is clean and new with fantastic view of city!

Nice hotel great area
Excellent location, nice staff. Hotel is a bit old and room conditions are ok.
We very much enjoyed our 5 nights at the J W Marriott Tomorrow Square - it is an excellent hotel. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable; the bed and bedding were luxurious; the staff were efficient and attentive; and everything was scrupulously clean. Indeed, we liked it so much that we will be staying for a further 3 nights on our way out of China.
The hotels location is great. The service is really good. The concierge is always great. Food is very good, particularly breakfast. There are floors designated as a non smoking that smell like tobacco and there are fumes of it at night (bad). Overall the hotel is great.
Lovely view from our hotel room's window; both in the day & at nighy. Good breakfast and at a convenient location that is a stone's throw away from People's Square and Nanjing West Road. Lots of dining & shopping malls to choose from around the place.
It is a very nice place to stay in Shanghai. Walking distance to the Bund and Nanjing road.
Nice view, very good service. Hotel slightly aged by Asia standards but overall still good. Would consider for future stays
solid short stay. A little old school in terms of decor but I guess that’s what one expects from an American hotel chain. Good front of house, fair pricing, quality beds. We had one or two hiccups at one of the in-hotel restaurants (JW California Grill) which were recovered with a complimentary meal. Would recommend the hotel. Would suggest to the hotel management that a competent manager for the restaurant is needed.
Restaurant food quality and service was far below JW standards. Make sauna had laundry drying in it! Nobody checking it or dealing with it! Font desk staff is excellent.
Awesome Hotel!
Very convenient located and nice property
服务设施和工作人员的服务态度
Staff receptive to needs. Hotel is a little worn down. Our first room had problems with the toilet. Got upgraded and curtains had holes. Area around the hotel is very good.
Excellent hotel with horrible wifi
Wifi was horrible simply horrible and hotel has no explanation
great stay, from the services, the property & the location everything is unbelievable.
No one speaks English and the bars and restaurants are still on covid timing with staff leaving and service stopping at 9pm
Nice view
The hotel is amazing. The concierge was the best, he helped us a lot, thanks to him.
Very good
What a fabulous hotel. The rooms were spacious and lovely, the food in the hotel was also great. Highly recommend the JW Marriott in Shanghai, you will not be disappointed.
Beware of deposit
I was asked to deposit $1000 rmb upon checking in, though all the room fee was paid in advance . I only found that they don’t give the deposit back if you don’t ask it when you check out. It was very hard to believe it’s not a scam.
Best service in town
After a meltdown incident at the airport, quickly booked JW and went over. I probably wasnt in the best state of mind but reception, I believe it was Claire, was so gentle and friendly that I was able to regain composure. Got to my room and realized that I was extremely early for the check in. 2 years into covid, I've started seeing service levels deteriorating at many international businesses, including hotels. JW is a clear exception and this shows how serious they take their service standards. Well done.
Excellent stay cation
JW Marriott is a beautiful hotel in a prime location, right in People's Square. Metro is a 2 min. walk. Beds comfy and room average size and very clean and top notch. Views are excellent and staff is very helpful. Breakfast buffet is excellent and views from breakfast room on 38th floor are fabulous. Highly recommend staying here and getting the breakfast room rate.
Not as advertised. Paying for the view.
Picked the Junior Suite based on pics used on website for this room. Specifically requested that the toys advertised in the room were provided. Was told upon arrival that the toys were not part of the offer. No attempt to provide any toys or entertainment for the kids, like was advertised. Furthermore, the bathrobes and towels felt like sandpaper. At this hotel you are paying for the view. Didn't experience anything else to justify the high price.
Excellent Location
Excellent location.
Good stay at the JW Tomorrow Sq
quick 2 day business trip and all went well with hotel. central location, easy walk to Xintiandi for diner and drinks. caught train in from factory visit to Shanghai Railway Station and only 3 metro stops and a short walk to hotel. Good breakfast spread. All around good stay. The only downside was the hotel had no airport shuttle van. I think the other JW in town has a shuttle.
Great location and great view from the room and executive lounge!
Is expensive compared to other hotel with more modern and newer space. The view is nice, but is kind of difficult the accessibility.
very good.
Great location-needs help with service and Englis!
This hotel has a lot of positives but needs to improve in several ways. The English level of the servers is not sufficient to deal with international guests. We ate 3 meals in the restaurants over 2 days and had issues communicating over very simple requests each time. They also don’t seem customer service oriented enough. For example, at dinner in the California Grill (which has 0 ambiance btw), I asked for a scoop of ice cream with Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur poured on top. When they brought it, they said they had run out of Baileys so they put some chocolate shavings on top. Maybe asking me if I would have preferred a different liqueur would have been better. At breakfast, I was shocked to find out that they didn’t have any xiaolongbao on the expensive buffet—that dish is a signature one for Shanghai! We also ordered iced mochas for breakfast and were told they didn’t have that. Then when we ordered iced coffees, they brought us hot coffees.
The best hotel I ever stayed, will stay there again next time when I am in Shanghai
Awesome place, the best hotel I ever lived in Shanghai
Excellent services
It was great. The service provided was tip top awesome.
JW Marriott is up in the scale of Western brand hotels in the world. When a customer looks for this hotel , most probably looks for a good western style hotel experience. The staff was very courteous but lacked enough training , English is poor , food quality so so . The concierge service seems in a hurry always and you don't "dare" to ask them all the questions you need to move in this city where English is not well spoken . I was expecting more ....
Location is good. Breakfast is also extensive on the 38 floor. Got a nice view on 57 floor
It's walkable and close to People Square and shopping center. In addition, metro lines are close by.
Great area, beautiful building, nice staff, very clean, but the breakfast is little expensive , over all I give A!
REVIEW
I had a great time at this hotel. They called for my taxis whenever I needed it, helped write my destinations of interest in chinese so the taxi drivers would know where i was going if I was travelling solo, and when i needed pads because i ran out of my own they went and brought them to my room in meer minutes. Almost all their employees spoke English and if they didnt they immediately found another employee who could. My only critic would be on the website include the extra 2000 yuan deposit so people know that its required, in case they dont bring enough cash.
One of the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in Shanghai.
Great view, well appointed rooms, comfortable bed, 5-star service
Good location and service, wil l stay again with family 😀
I like everything!! Good service, clean and beautiful
Fantastic location
Fantastic location and everything about this hotel is world class
Always the best
Great location great staff. Excellent service?
The view from the executive lounge was fantastic. The view from my room was good but would have been better if it was a corner room and faced Shanghai Tower and Jin Mao.
Nice location. Close to all must-see places. Can walk or take a cab (cheap).
Great hotel in a great location. 5 star experience
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location was outstanding, centrally located to restaurants, subway, walking to popular areas. The hotel staff was friendly, pleasant and helpful. The restaurants in the hotel were very good and the breakfast buffet had many choices. The room was clean and comfortable with many amenities.
Good location. Staff were helpful Walking distance to shopping area
Unpleasant stay
The front desk clerks were not pleasant nor professional to deal with! However, the clerks at executive lounge were very nice and professional! The rooms need to be updated to JW standard.
Posh hotel with warm & friendly staff
Close to popular spots like Starbucks Reserve Roastery and malls like Raffles City. Getting up to the 38th floor reception could be quite a wait during busy periods. Room was awesome with the amazing view of Shanghai, bed and pillows were great albeit pillows a bit soft. Room decor and furniture a little dated, but luxe nonetheless. Ylang ylang soap & shampoo was great :)
Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel, with superb staff and facilities. Cannot fault this hotel at all. Rooms have everything, great size and very clean.
As always, nice hotel and service.
Wonderful stay in Shanghai
Wonderful experience. Staff makes you feel very welcome and extreme helpful. We also enjoyed our mommy daughter afternoon tea there.
Good location
Attentive staff particularly the concierge office. F&B staff also good by local standards
Very good location and lounges for meeting people if required.
Great central location; in need of a renovation shortly
Good for family. Great view.
They need to improve communication skills especially in dealing with non-Chinese guests. The hotel is superb with great views.
Good location.
The hotel is in a nice location. The staff was nice and the room was comfortable. The facility feels old as if it could use a deep cleaning or re-model. Overall its was not a bad choice for a quick overnight stay.
Stunning view and perfect location
Very well located to visit Shanghai. The staff is nice and helpful. The restaurant on 38th floor is not cheap, but the food quality, service and view are really worth it. Also the gym is very well equipped.
best hotel in China.
they couldn't have been nicer. outstanding service.
Food is good but access to rooms is a bit of finding. More notice is needed
Cny
It’s always good to be back. Lovely staff and efficient. I wish to have even better rates so I have excuse to go back!
Business Trip Shanghai
Excellent experience staying here - staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful stay at the J.W.
excellent hotel
this hotel is extremely comfortable and clean. service is amazing. the staff go out of their way to help. the location is also great. there is a park nearby and places to eat. the views from our rooms were out of this world. would stay here again and recommend highly to others.
Excellent hotel
Great location at the edge of People's square, within easy walking distance to the pedestrian Nanjing road and Bund as well as Xintiandi. The facilities are fantastic, from the lobby and restaurants to the Executive lounge and rooms, all with wonderful views. Staff is very nice, polite and eager to help.
Great service, great location. Hotel food first class but expensive. Nice indoor/outdoor pools.
Close to lots of shopping, cafes and restaurants
Great experience. Great experience and the staff and so friendly and helpful.
Amazing Shanghai
It was just perfect
The hotel is old and in desperate need of a remodel.
Good service and good room condition with nice view.
Super location, super hotel
Chose this hotel because it was centrally located - great room, great view, great breakfast and a great bar area to sit and chat with friends. Highly recommend this hotel.
All is good except water temperature control
The hotel is top-notch. Staff is friendly and service is great. One thing that is not compatible with the status of the hotel is the temperature control of water in the shower. The temperature control red button was broken. You have to constantly turn water back to cold to prevent from being burned.
Good Hotel - but careful what goes on your bill
I stayed here for one night in July. The room was decent with a great view. However breakfast is extraordinarily expensive for what it is, and I got charged extra for my guests breakfast too (even though it was included in the price). They wouldn't back down so I paid but it did leave a bitter taste in my mouth.
Nice, comfortable hotel near people's square
Nice, clean , comfortable, close to people's square , metro subway line, good food, the breakfast is excellent, staff friendly and helpful
Excellent location
Was there for business, service could not have been better. Location super and facilities flawless. Outdoor/Indoor pool was welcome relief to +38c temp!
Very good location . Great service
First time stay here . Very good experience . Will study here next time in shanghai
