Beautiful space. The service was excellent, and the staff was so lovely and helpful. The food is also outstanding. We had a very nice time and will go back. We had some very windy days and couldn't get to the beach. I wish they had some indoor activities for teenagers. But overall, it is very good place. Highly recommend it.

We spent 4 nights at the Hotel, people there were beyond kindness.

This is a beautiful and well managed property and provides an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea. We had a great overall experience and everything from check in to check out was smooth. The check in staff gave us room with a surreal view of the turquoise waters on my request as we celebrated our daughter's birthday there. The staff is very friendly and always eager to help. The areas are neat and clean, and the staff works very hard to maintain the property. The restaurants are affordable, and we did not have to shell out exorbitant amount of money to eat during our stay. Bus stop is right outside the property and convenient to take the ferry. Pizzeria 750 is a lifesaver, and we had the most amazing pizza there at a very reasonable price of $25 for its jumbo size. Had good food at beachside restaurant also. The location is safe though we did not venture out. I am happy that we did not opt for all-inclusive resort as we had a better experience with this upscale property. I would highly recommend this property for stay to anyone planning stay in Cancun Hotel Zone. A few things could have been better like providing a tea/Coffee machine in the common area. It was inconvenient to go back to the room from beach to have tea/coffee. This complementary service may be very useful to the guests. Also drinking water bottles should be provided without calling room service. We did not like drinking water from bathroom taps and had to ask room service serval times a day.

Loved the pools and easy access to the rooms from the pools. Thai restaurant service needs to be stepped up. Loved the rest of the hotel and the live music. Some of the staff were very good. Loved the beach access.

It is amazing place and property, stayed for 4 days with family. Amazing close to beach and other facilities. Also going to the near by tours are worth it.

Lovely quiet property with wonderful array of stylish heated pools and a variety of dining options. The hotel shuttle by a company called Prestige was on time and very friendly. I would have appreciated more generous wine pours. If you are going to drink wine, I would order a bottle. Traveled with my adult daughter. The age group leans to the 50 crowd. Next door is the all inclusive Marriot which caters to younger crowd with children. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay and plan to come back next year.

Impeccable service and world class accommodations

The JW Marriott in Cancun was one of the best properties I have visited recently. The staff was super friendly. The rooms were very clean and well kept and the views and on the property were fantastic.

Definitely not a 5 star resort. Our room wasn’t the cleanest - there was lots of hair in our shower and the food in the resort was awful. The pool area isn’t the nicest, it doesn’t look like the photos

Had an amazing time.

I stayed next door at the Marriot a couple years ago. I really enjoyed it and decided to stay at their sister location next door! Now, this is not about the cleanliness nor the professional staff- it’s about how expensive the food is and especially at the snack bar. The restaurants are mid and I don’t believe they should be charging that much. Again, this is a beautiful resort, but I would go to hotel zone for all of your food needs! You’ll save so much more money. Also, they end up closing the shop inside @11 and it’s unfortunate since we had to order room service for water. Which cost us close to $20! For three drinks. Other than that, it’s a nice resort with a beautiful pool, and not far from hotel zone!

The resort wasn’t busy, but the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We always have a fun time at the JW Marriott. We had an amazing room 1 bedroom suite. The food was good, but not excellent.

Hospitality is the best

This is the sixth time we have stayed here, and I have to say it will be the last. We have seen a steady decline in this ‘resort’ to the point where there is little to set it apart from everywhere else. It is definitely no longer ‘5 star’ for sure. They have closed down so many areas…Spanish restaurant and ‘speakeasy’ bar closed, Thai restaurant closed, lunch beach walk restaurant has been closed off and on. Only remaining bar was so busy (with no staff) that we could t order a drink..just left. Last night had to go to neighboring Marriot and use an all inclusive restaurant which are not the same level. Sir, it is ‘off season’ at every request for an explanation…really? Not off season for me, prime season and cost! Maybe they are bleeding cash with their refurb next door and switching to all inclusive. Prefer they do a ‘save the JW’ go fund me than shut down all the facilities for the guests!! Very disappointed.

I want to personally thank the entire staff at JW Marriott Resort and Spa Cancun. I have stayed at multiple Hotels around the World and thus far I haven't been Impressed to make this Statement that everyone was Amazing from the Hotel staff to grounds keeper and Waiter's, Bells men and Concierge and everyone connected to this property. Even down to going to other restaurants in the area and given even more excellent service because we were guess at JW Marriott Resort and Spa. understanding that excellence must continue. This type of service reenforces why I'm a loyal Marriot Bonvoy member. I have to give a special thanks to Andrea for making my wife's Birthday unforgettable and Amazing contacting the flowers and decorating the room with Birthday signs and strawberries and making it feel like she was the most important person on her birthday while ensuring those memories will never be forgotten. Also appreciating Fabiola's commitment to detail and service making sure I had everything I needed from transportation to things we could do during our stay. JW Marriott Resort and spa got it Right...Every employee and staff should be called out and given a Big Job Well Done and I look forward to returning again very soon. Awesome property top of the line

They were doing major remodeling in the room across the hall and making a lot of noise. I cant imagine why they would put a guest in the room adjacent to that noise. The manager did agree to move my room but it was incredibly aggravating and inconvenient to move. Parts of the hotel may be under construction. the elevators did not work one night. The room furnishings are a bit tired and in need of upgrade for the price of the rooms. Service at the lobby bar was not good, at least for me. Perhaps I didn't pay close enough attention but there were a few add on fees. Just tell me what the room costs and stop with the resort and other fees. The grounds are nice and well maintained but for the money I would not recommend.

Great place to stay and amazing service

Now I'm not one to lie so believe me when I tell you this, the staff at this resort was extraordinary!! they were so incredibly nice and took notice to every little detail about our stay. They gave us tips and tricks into how we could enjoy our vacation even more and put an immense amount of effort into every thing they did. Overall, it was an 11/10 experience. I will definitely return!

Our "Home away from Home"!

This location is our "home away from home"! We discovered this Resort 4 yours ago, and have come back every year. Clean, comfortable, good location, but the best part are your people! When we arrive many recognize us, and several remember my children and my names. I feel like it's a reunion with friends. I'm also so happy that this is not a "all-inclusive" resort. We eat at all the the restaurants there, but like the option to also explore the area.

Very chill and relaxing. There were kids there but very quiet. Not the best place for kids but awesome for adults! Beautiful water, good breakfast buffet, and across the street from fabulous restaurants. Not too far from The airport. This was the take it easy trip we needed.

Overall nice hotel however during my stay the elevators were not working. nothing special about the place in my opinion. good location to get to Harry’s and other nice restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is Amazing! It truly exceeded our expectations. My family and I which also included two teenage boys agreed this is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed. We will be booking again!

Property was great need more restaurants with better choices.

Overall we liked the Hotel but the last night before we check out my son falloff in the pool era the hotel staff make me to pay for the doctors and medic which is ridiculous because the accident happened in the Hotel properties are not supposed to be charging me for that.

I loved how peaceful and safe the area was. We enjoyed our stay knowing we were in a safe, clean and protected area. I however did not like the fact that no one told us about the mini bar situation. We were unaware that all the drinks and the candies that were in the room were not for the guests but instead were charged to our account. Maybe put up a sign by the mini fridge area notifying your guests that the items in there are not free but rather charged. It would help a great deal at the time of checkout. Also a number on the phone or next to it to call to the lobby for any questions or concerns while there would be helpful. Thank you!

WOW! Truly amazing hotel. As you walk in they open the doors for you, all the time. The hotel is beautiful with all modern marble upgrades. Freezing cold AC which is a must in Cancun. The staff and everyone is 5 star. The hotel is so clean it’s unreal. The staff is constantly working on keeping the property immaculate. From the cleaning crew to the gardeners and the pool cleaning staff, they are continuously working non stop and the property shows. They even have a “bird control” staff that uses a hawk to scare away the birds so you are not bothered. The rooms are large with an amazing view of the ocean. The AC is as cold as you want it and I mean freezing. That’s important in Mexico, not all hotels are the same. The food is amazing. I mean everything we ate was 5 star. The pool service was super fast. The house keeping staff checks back in the evening to turn up the room with fresh towels, waters or whatever else is needed. You are truly treated like royalty and it shows. They are a 5 minute walk from aqua world which has plenty of different adventures. A 5 minute cab ride from La Isla Shopping center which has lots of shopping, restaurants and a casino. Overall, this hotel was probably one of the best hotels and service we have ever experienced. We highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you!

It was a very nice property. Absolutely clean and has great staff and service. The pool was very clean and beautiful. The beach is spectacular with beautiful blue water , however it’s a little rough. It doesn’t have huge waves but the waves keep coming…non stop. It’s hard to remain standing. They should also have a little more in house entertainment. It’s quiet. I felt the pool was so large that they could have a quiet section and a section with a little music. The spa is beautiful. Overall it’s a fabulous hotel/resort.

The resort itself and staff were great. Everything on property was much more expensive than local upscale restaurants and markets… avoid the mini bar at all costs unless you’re willing to pay $18US for popcorn 🍿

Overall, we had a fantastic time. It didn't ruin our experience, but performing maintenance tasks during the off-season would be a good idea.

The property is definitely a lux one, located in the hotel zone, right on beach. While it isn't a private beach, there isn't public access to the resort from the beach. Keep in mind that this is not an all-inclusive resort, though it's sister property (Marriott, next door) is. We purposely chose to not stay at an all-inclusive. Now that we spent a week there, I think cost-wise, all-inclusive would have been the easier route as we had kids with us. They do have a club 91 program which you can kind of treat like an all-inclusive, but it's only at specific times and on the 14th floor. So, you wouldn't be able to bring your lunch from there to eat down by the pool or on the beach. Our room was the Caribbean suite which had a separate living room and king size bedroom with 1.5 bath and TWO balconies! The view was amazing to wake up to and look at all day long. The staff was very friendly, attentive and willing to make our stay comfortable. I highly recommend the property if you are looking for a quieter, luxurious vacation without the party crowd. Be prepared to pay though, as the restaurants are on the pricier side (on site and walking distance from property). If I could have it my way, it would be JW Marriott a standard all inclusive. One thing that was really fun is that the hotel lobby has a list of 150 different margaritas to choose from!

Despite being in the ocean, and having torrential rain for a week in a row, the property held up very nicely. We visited iberostar nearby, and water damage was visible everywhere

A dream come true!

The trip of my life! Absolutely amazing, from checking in to checking out. Will return pretty soon, loved the friendly employees they were always there to help on every little thing i needed!

Always love our trip to JW Marriott, Cancun and will continue to visit as frequently as our schedule will allow. The staff, the property itself, and vibe all combine to make a supremely peaceful and relaxing vacation getaway. This was also our first visit with our daughter who is seven. She’s already begging to return, so I’d say this place is also kid approved!

Excellent Hotel But…

Overall an excellent hotel especially considering what passes for 4 and 5 stars these days. The rooms are very comfy and the showers are absolutely amazing! Only a few complaints: 1. Check your itemized bill carefully. There were three unauthorized charges for items in the mini fridge which I did not use at all. Still waiting on hotel to issue credit. 2. Confirm late checkout time!!! I was told it was 5:00 pm and paid extra. Only to find out on the day of leaving they moved it to 3:00 pm causing rush and hassle. 3. Service at the swimming pool needs work. Prepare for long waits to get a drink. The food at all restaurants was excellent and definitely would stay here again.
