Clean and tidy.

This little motel is a well-kept family operation. Simple but effective lodging with parking right at your unit. Nice and quiet and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Booking was easy, excellent communication in advance of the trip (for a late check in), responsive comms during our stay (for routine things) and the room was as advertised, clean and tidy and perfect for our needs. It was also quiet with good off road parking.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for our 4 day fly-fishing getaway. The motel was a good size for our simple needs, and we enjoyed its proximity to the water .. we were able to go for lovely evening strolls, and also walk down to fish. Staff were friendly and facilities were good.

Basic, but very clean, and helpful staff

I liked everything about this place, but I'm a very easy person. I especially liked the clerk who went out of his way to assist me.

Was a one night stop over, so we didn’t need much other than a shower and a place to sleep. The place is newly renovated and clean, and front of house friendly. No complaints from me.

We were passing through Turangi while visiting the national park. This is a small town, the motel is a good place for a short stay. It is small but clean. It is quite as well. Receptionist is professional and courteous and helpful. We appreciate the tips he gave us.

Nice unit, location (if you don't need the inernet

A clean and comfortable unit located in a nice avenue close to the Turangi centre. The only problem was despite free wifi being connected it was next to impossible to get any streamed apps or even free to view channels and the internet in general. Have encountered this at other motels in the district so it's probably a regional issue but sure;y hosts can find a solution?

Great value in Turangi.

Just a one night stay but impressed with this small motel. Owners were great and happy to satisfy any requests. The grounds and units were very neat and tidy. Although an older motel, renovations have been completed on the bathroom while the rest is in great condition. It is in a quiet location only a short drive to the centre of town. Recommended......would stay again.

Bathroom had overpowering mold smell. Looks like everything was absolutely new but they put no barrier on the mold. Internet also could only log on with one phone. One phone could log on but kept getting bumped off, and both pads could not log on. Also roku could not see the web. I think rooms on the other side and closer to the office were probably ok.

Fantastic place to stay. Quiet street and lovely surroundings. Short walk to shops. Easy walk to walking trails and the river.

Good location when need to stop by Taupo lake.

Property was clean but very tired and in need of a refresh (pealing paint, marks, etc). Nothing to directly complain about or need immediate fixing, just a general feel that I expected better, and that only essential maintenance was being done. (But this was a similar quality standard in many of the other N.I. motels we stayed in during the trip). The host was very helpful. Acceptable night layover between Auckland and Wellington.

Well equiped, easy accomodation

It was worth the money for a single night stay, I wouldn’t recommend this one for more than a night or if you can make it to Rotorua.

The rooms are immaculate with everything you need even a heat pump. There is a reserve within walking distance near the river, the staff are friendly, theres even a cat that loves pats on the property, i will definitely be back and highly reccomend to others.

The staff were very nice and the inside the property was super clean! Nice little place, would visit again, really good bang for buck.

I liked the room; nice & cozy

Tired property with very poor wifi

The property is a bit tired and the rooms have a musty stale smell. The wifi is appalling - poor signal, slow, drops out all the time clumsy log-on system which you have to redo every time the phone is off. There were cockroaches in the room.

This property was very nice and convenient for our Tongariro Crossing hike in the morning. Very accommodating and friendly staff! Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Arrived to find major building work in progress which did not finish until about 9pm. Required to park at front because builders truck was allocated to builders truck and consequently had our car window smashed and broken into along with two other guests cars overnight. Staff very aplogetic and helpful but would not have booked if we knew about the building work which recommenced at 8am next morning (Sunday). Overall a very negative experience and we drove back to Wellington with no window.

A place to call home if your passing through or on a short stay. The manager was extremely friendly & helpful. The rooms were clean, tidy & spacious, with good facilities. Would stay again & recommend to others.

Good budget accommodation

Stayed two nights and this place met our needs. The staff was friendly and the room had the essentials. It was within walking distance of the main town area. It's definitely a budget stay and to an extent you get what you pay for - rooms were somewhat dated and minimalist, but I was happy with the experience. Would stay again.

Large room, quiet and clean.

Very nice people who run the place. The unit we stayed in was in the back. We checked in late, but the owners were very accommodating! We liked the nice bathroom, and comfy bed. Great spot for as stopover. Looks like new improvements were being made on site, with some new construction. My guess is it will be a really great place to stay! Would recommend. =)

Great basic accommodation

The Judges Pool Motel had basic accommodations, but everything was clean and comfortable with a nice kitchenette. And the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly.

Aircon not working

Hosts were very pleasant, but the aircon didn’t work so was a warm stay 😢

Good overall, welcoming staff, handy location - traffic noise not too bad, but fridge was a bit loud! Clean room, but some tired furniture eg broken stool and old table outside. Building work about to start there so this may change soon!

Nice stay with supper large rooms and sufficient amenities. The only issue was some molds built around toilet tank exterior probably due to unoccupied room for a long time.

Everything was perfect for our overnight stay, would stay there again.

Excellent value for money. We only stayed overnight while passing through but were very happy with the 2 bedroom unit. Not far from the main road, yet nothing to hear but the songs of the local tuis.

A lucky find

We were delayed in Tūrangi by road closure and were lucky to book an available studio room. Spotlessly clean, comfortable furnishings, warm and friendly spot.

A very handy base for fishing. Clean, tidy and comfortable.

A great place to stay when in Turangi. Older but clean and well maintained, quiet- far enough from State Highway 1 to be peaceful.

Great Place to Stay

A really unassuming place, but had all we needed for a lovely three night stay. Owners were friendly, unit was roomy with good kitchen, plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils, comfortable beds, good pillows and adequate bathroom. Bonuses were lovely outdoor balcony (could do with a bit of a garden) and absolutely wonderful cafe down the road (Cruel cafe, had the really good egg and bacon croissants - don’t bother with Time for Food in town, very ordinary, bakery with rose garden is a better bet in town). Motel is very quiet, we had one bedroom unit at front and it was great. A really nice place to stay and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay there again if ever in Turangi.

Terrible. The owner will no doubt try to refute this but we got attacked by bugs all night to the point I had to leave at 0500hrs.I was literally covered in bites. Asked through Wotif for a refund and the owner asked for a medical report saying it was bed bugs - yeah right buddy - I’m really going to wait for a pathological report to say it’s bedbugs while I’m on holidays. Place is unsafe - do not go there, spend the extra 20 bucks or… fumigate it first. I sent the photos of the bites through to Wotif and they gave me money back straight away no questions asked - the lady I spoke to was blown away. To the owner - I gave you plenty of chances to rectify this - I hope people see this review. You’re unsafe and laughing it off is inappropriate - you’ve been picked up for bedbugs/mites in other reviews. You clearly don’t care…

We were only there for one night and had a studio unit. Very small but was fine for one night.

Told management i would be arriving late due to working on Saturday afternoon, told them my arrival time would be around 8.30 - 8.45pm, they obviously finish at 9pm.....at 8.36 i get a call from the hotel to ask if wss coming or not....i was 2 villages away, but good that he was checking my booking, also i always take my pillow with me and although my wofe put a soft yellow pillow case on it, i left it in the room, same guy called to say it had been left, we only came down to do the Tongario Crossing, i would highly recommend ataying at this place due to its proximity to the start/end of the crossing, but unlike me book a single apartment which has a kitchen, and only costs $5 dollars more if you book online through Expedia. I however had to call the hotel and change the booking manually which of cuaae costs $20.

East to find, good value, good parking, spacious, clean and friendly check-in. Great place to break up the trip from WLG to AKL as it's exactly halfway in drive time.

Affordable (about the same as another one around the road), and quiet, considering how close it was to the main road. However, the room smelled a lot which was disappointing, and the TV on the wall was barely 20 inch, which didn't fit the room at all, I could barely watch anything on it from the couch opposite. The Air con only covered the one room (main entrance / second bedroom), which left the room I was sleeping in very hot due to the sun pouring in the back of the unit.

No tissues, no heater, no air conditioner

Restover break

Very good stop between Auckland and Wellington. No time to explore the area but happy with the facilities for a rest stop. Would stay here again!

The most friendly reception. So helpful. BBQ on site. Close walk to the waterhole for swim. Property reflected of the cost which is very reasonable. Have stayed there twice and would stay again
