Terrible staff and not helful

Great, convenient stay within walking distance of the airport. Clean, great staff,good room.

Very unique experience- self checkin process and how everyone was friendly included the common areas shared by the guests: kitchen/food, etc…. I had a private room with bathroom and would recommend sharing common areas at this location.

We booked a private room and for one the television didn’t even work and also the shower drain was plugged so we couldn’t even have showers! Never again!

Affordable but strict on checkin times. Also, room had a skylight that could not be closed off from light (looks like the remote control batteries were dead and we didn’t want to bother with it after we were in bed).

The property was clean, the beds had individual privacy curtains, the amenities were more than adequate. There is nothing more you could reasonably expect out of a hostel than what they already have, except maybe air conditioning in the bedrooms and free off-street parking. If you don’t want to pay $15/day for parking in the parking lot, there is plenty of free on-street parking nearby, but be prepared to walk up to 1km during peak busy days.

10 minutes walk to the airport. Downside perhaps the wall sound insulation could be better. Otherwise it's was a pleasant stay. Fast food and plenty of varied eateries literally next door.

It was the perfect spot to stay for myself and young child. We arrived after midnight , check in was a breeze , it was easy clean and convienient. We stayed in a private room. There were cafes and a supermarket next door to the hotel .

Clean rooms, large are to hang out and if you want to cook your meals has large kitchen. Best hostel 10/10

Brief Stay before Early Flight

When organising a visit to ChristChurch which involved an early international flight home, I considered how best to manage my last night. While my family were willing to drive me in the early morning, I noticed Lylo were nearby offering "capsule rooms". Knowing it would be for a few hours overnight, I chose to satisfy my curiosity and try it out. Despite a bit of trepidation, I found the room met my needs perfectly. Even my brother, who was a little skeptical, was impressed with the quality of the capsule pod. I had a large suitcase, but the locker in the room kept it safe and sound. At checkout time, it was an easy walk down the side of the building and across the long term parking to the international terminal. Would I use a pod capsule room again? Definitely.

Great place to relax, rest and get to/from airport

Friendly, courteous staff. Loved the free stuff. 15 min walk from airport so no need for ride or bus. Comfortable bed. Nice hangout area with ample space and games. Front desk lent me a charger. I would definitely stay again or another Lylo location. Highly recommend for the budget conscious.

It is convenient to the airport, bus line, supermarket, restaurants, and Antarctic Centre. The vibe is hipster cool. My teen loved the common room with games, hammocks and swings.

Convenient but tiny private rooms

We booked a private room with bathroom because we arrived late into the airport. The bathroom was quite spacious but the room was tiny. Thought it was expensive for the size but I suppose that’s the price for being walkable from the airport.

Easy check in, doors opening and closing causes quite a bit of noise but that's expected in a hostel environment. Overall fine stay

Quite unfair, having to pay $15 for overnight parking out front of the hotel, on top of the room fee... the noise also carries from the corridor to the room when people are passing.

Im from South Africa and sleeping in a pod was quite an experience. I quite enjoyed it and think it will be awesome to go back and spend time with friends there. I also liked the communial lounging area with books and hammocks. I appreciated the discounts for Antarctic Adventure

Practical stay at nice concept

Interesting concept, we had our own private room with shower, clean, practical and there is a big common space with a full kitchen where we could prepare the last dinner with leftovers from our camper trip. The international airport is a 7 min walk from the hotel. The domestic airport is another 15 min walk or a free shuttle between terminals.

Disinterested staff, average cleanliness and an uncomfortable bed.... I know its not luxury accomodation but for the price I paid I expected better

Super convenient to the Christchurch Airport. Only issue I had was some guy in the kitchen who looked like he wanted to murder me when I asked him if I could get a dish which he was blocking. But the staff cannot control the behavior of random people who stay there. I really liked the 'pods' where the beds were so you can have privacy in a room with other beds.

Easy and great

We stayed at Lylo on the first and last nights of a longer trip around the South Island, because of its proximity to the airport and groceries and its amenities. Was exactly what we hoped for!

The shared hangout/kitchen is unreal! Felt like such a safe space with more than you need. Hotel is extremely conveniently located to the airport with one path that takes u right to the doors of the airport/hotel. Rooms were very clean.

Amazing stay

The work/play space was wonderful, and the kitchen in it was good (with much free stuff). The entire environment was clean and the staffs were friendly. The only problem was that the bathroom door couldn’t stop the water, so when you took a shower, the carpet outside would be really wet.

Close to the airport which means people are coming and going from dorm rooms all through the night as middle of the night flights land and take off. Good common areas and if you don't need much sleep but need to be close to the airport for an early flight it is a good option.

Very noisy and people running in the hallway at 2 in the morning, slaming doors and people arriving late hours making so much noise with bags and talking loud. Kitchen was dirty and too busy, struggled to heat up some food. But the bed was very comfortable an clean lines. Book in was easy with friendly help.

Walking to the CHC airport is easy. It was cool to live in a pod for one night. Everything is so clean. Shopping and mail posting is 1 minute away. Best choice to catch a morning flught.

This is close to airport and was a place to sleep after arriving on a late night flight. The 2nd bed was very high and the carpet was a bit smelly. We basically slept and left. It was useful for our needs

Great place to stay when flying out the next day or flying in

Wonderful pod beds. Great privacy and utility. Large and spacious common area with heaps of seating. Full and large kitchen space.

良かった点: 空港から徒歩距離にあるのにリーズナブルで助かりました。設備もキレイで充実しています。 気になった点: 充電のためにポッドの電源をつけると電灯を消す術がなく、就寝時はやむなく電源を落とす必要がありました（ポッドの不具合かも）。また朝食をつけましたが、隣のカフェでほぼ正規料金のパンとコーヒーがもらえるだけなので価値を感じませんでした。

It’s a really great option for affordable airport accommodation, I really liked that the walkway was well lit and easy to navigate in the dark. The bed was not very comfortable, but that wouldn’t stop me from staying there again, the convenience is worth it.

Stayed here because it's near enough to the airport that we can walk to catch our 3am flight. Generally clean and good for short stay.

Very affordable, clean and enjoyable hostel. Many room options. EXCELLENT kitchen so many people can cook simultaneously and you can go to the grocery instead of only restaurants.

Bathroom was very unclean with slimy mould covering nearly every surface. As soon as you turn on the hot water, the mould develops a new life, becoming more evident than before. The staff were nice and the rest of the building seemed fairly clean.

Convenient

Overall, this was an incredible spot right near the airport -about a 15-20 min walk from the terminal if you have lots of luggage. There are staff there 24/7 which is super handy if you have any weird questions in the middle of the night, or get in at 1am like I did. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. It's not close to Christchurch proper if you don't have a car, but it is close to a bus stop which is about a 20-30 min trip one-way. There are multiple food places nearby, as well as a Woolies/Countdown and a pharmacy. The common spaces are honestly pretty cool, but maybe it was just the nature of the people I was there at the same time as - no one was particularly social, everyone either kept to themselves or only spoke to the people they had gone away with. The pods are very interesting ideas and actually a surprising amount of space, but due to being all plastic they get quite hot and the fan/aircon is pretty weak despite its noise. The lockers are also fantastic inclusions but unfortunately beep really loudly when you are trying to open them! Both great in theory, but just be warned if you're a hot-sleeping night owl. Showers were hot and bathrooms were decent. I have no real qualms there - just maybe an extra sink or two for the girls would be helpful, four didn't feel like enough for the amount of rooms in the place! Otherwise, I think it was a good hostel that served its purpose well, and I'm glad to see upgraded facilities for young travellers.

Near to the airport

It was adequate and probably good value for the money. Late arrivals would have kept everyone awake, but I did sleep eventually. Cleanliness was good.

Very convenient for our early morning flight as we could walk to the airport. It wasn’t the quietest and in our opinion could use some deep cleaning. The self-checkin felt impersonal and the first room we went to wasn’t finished being cleaned but the lady got us another room that was fine.

The distance to Christchurch Airport is approximately a 15-minute walk, highly recommended for travelers with red-eye flights. Both check-in and check-out are very convenient.

Lovely for an affordable, short stop. Being so close to the airport there were people coming and going at all hours but the pods were comfortable. Common room was clean, spacious, and well lit. Very easy to get to from the airport.

Close to the airport, no fuss accommodation

We are two of your older clients and perhaps need a little more help than younger people but i have to say that the Asian young lady who is off to Australia went out of her way to help us.

Okay but not the best

Stayed in a en-suite room for a night to catch an early morning flight. The window was open and the bed got some small bugs…

You get what you pay for....LyLo is very inexpensive, it's very close to the airport (easy walking distance), and the rooms very basic....and some are more like a hostel. But with a supermarket next door, lots of restaurants, bus lines, and a community kitchen and living room....it really met our needs.

Basic services meant for budget travelers or if you need to lie down for a few hours and not have to leave airport area. Pleasant helpful staff. Awesome location. Short walk to/from airport.

Dirty

Upon arrival in our room, the bathroom was found to be very dirty. There was hair all over the floor and particularly in the shower. The sink was also dirty and no soap was provided. Of the towels provided, one had holes in it and the other was dirty. We asked for replacements and one of the replacements was also dirty. The bed sheets did not either appear clean. Uncleanliness was the overall theme of the accommodation.

Super cool hostel/hotel with private and shared rooms. Definitely recommend if looking for a place close to the airport that relatively cheap compared the other options!

The room was clean, sheets and bed comfy great for what you pay, plus, it's so easy to walk to the airport for early morning departures. However, the room had a slight smell, like feet... or mice... not sure which one! It may have been the carpet... such a small space with dedicated foot traffic (smelly socks and feet). A regular carpet clean would help with this.
