Close to airport

Very lovely hotel right by the beach and near enough to airport for a stop over. Great to relax and rewind but then go out and explore some really wonderful places in the country.

It’s a great stop over location for airport transit. Hotel is fine, staff are nice but service is very very slow.

Nice

The hotel is well located right on the beach with an amazing spacious pool. Restaurant had a wide selection of local and international food to suite most. Staff always smiling and helpful with most having very good English. We were made to feel extremely welcome during our nine day staff. The hotel was safe and secure and we used it as a base to travel the country. Only a few things really need tweaking. My wife used the Spa and wasn’t that impressed. The staff tried hard but wasn’t really skilled enough for the Spa treatments on offer. Apart from the pool there’s nothing much for children so maybe set up something that kids can enjoy ( face painting, henna, some form of craft workshop). Overall myself and my family would recommend this hotel, it’s close to the airport (30 min drive) and very comfortable and reasonably priced for families

Overall, an enjoyable stay

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Jetwing Blue. On arrival, we were greeted very nicely and had our bags sent to our room. The rooms are large and quiet. The blinds on the windows dont do much, so we used eye masks. The breakfast buffet is very comprehensive. We were there when it was busy, so it was a bit of a hassle to get an omlette. The wait staff were a bit slow for a cup of tea and were not as friendly as other staff members. They were busy though, maybe that is why. The pool is excellent and pretty big.

This is my second stay and I just love the resort!! Can’t wait to visit again soon!!! A must stay as it is close to the airport after a long fight before your onward journey.

The rooms were very spacious, the grounds were lovely. Some of the fixtures and fittings were a little tired (slightly damaged shower head, the bath was a little grubby / stained. Nothing bad, just repeated usage). The area is replete with restaurants, bars, mini marts and souvenir shops. The beach biews are awesome.

Beautifully designed hotel with lovely spacious rooms and communal areas with stunning sea views. The property is a little tired but this is offset by the design. Rooms are cool with good a/c and bathrooms are well appointed. There is a lot to do within walking distance of the hotel - cool cafes, good bars and restaurants as well as plenty of tuktuks on standby to visit the town if you want to explore. Conveniently located for airport and Colombo and the hotel drivers we hired for airport drop and Colombo city tour were good. Overall had a really good experience during our 4 days stay and would definitely recommend to others and hopefully we will visit again someday.

Only stayed 1 night but the beach side location was lovely and the transfer to the airport was fast & cheap. Every other hotel rips you off on taxi services so this was a pleasant surprise. Definitely good value for money.

It's a a pleasant enough hotel but charges higher than necessary. My stay was comfortable, but nothing overly grand -- so it shouldn't have a 5str rating . One thing about the beach access -- it's about a 5 minute walk from the hotel lounge. And I found Negombo beach water to be somewhat polluted which hikkaduwa was not.

This hotel is tired and in need of a spruce up, particularly room 114 that we stayed in. The bathroom is disgraceful! We arrived tired after a long journey from the UK and had no towels. I was given 2 brown beach towels and told if I wanted bathroom towels it would take 30 mins!. Staff are all friendly enough but show little motivation maybe it’s down to training post the covid sleep? Our bed was comfy but our ocean view not exactly what I had expected. Stayed two nights so didn’t complain as we had opened a very full suitcase already and couldn’t be bothered to pack back up. I want convinced other rooms might be any better.

Worst customer service period!

customer service is a missing component of this properties training process. JetWing Beach however must focus on this aspect in every staff meeting. Dinner at the beach was amazing food and service. Blue customer service.... non existent. staff does not welcome you...does not address you , does not work to solve problems

Barth room, floor and balcony not clean. No katil , no glasses. We payed for thé water!. Thé confortable is equelle for 3*hotel.

My mother, my sister and I had a really pleasant stay at Jetwing Blue. Excellent customer service. I would recommend the hotel to other people.

Very expensive prices for the standing and cost life

The check in was chaotic and unwelcoming. The hotel is looking very shabby and in need of decoration. We were allocated a room right at the far end of the corridor with lots of road noise from the road at the rear and the pool at the front. The bathroom is surrounded by glass so you have to lower blinds on 2 sides for privacy. All the staff we dealt with were surly and disinterested. On the plus side, the location is fantastic with a great pool right on the beach. The food selection in the restaurant was good and the prices reasonable.

Was good. Staff very helpful. Location amazing and food great. Only issue was some areas of the Hotel need a good coating of paint and the damp, musty smell as you enter the room we were given needs to be eliminated.

The rooms looked very tired. However the front office manager dealt with our issue very swiftly and we were very happy with his service.

Staff were pleasant and the pool and beach were great. The breakfast was expensive for what it was. Felt safe throughout the stay.

Good for a short stay

We enjoyed our time at the hotel. The pool area was lovely - beautiful beach and sea views. We were disappointed by the airport transfer service and on arrival we were offered a small reduction in cost which we had to negotiate further. The food was reasonable but not many authentic Sri Lankan options available. Overall, a nice stay for a couple of nights.

Need more attention to the room cleaning.Breakfast was great.

Good hotel to stay,food is average,may be a mix of different varieties of food will do.

Can’t complain about anything. Lovely rooms, food, amenities and staff. From the minute we walked into the hotel we felt relaxed and enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend jetwing as a brand to anyone travelling to Sri Lanka

Beautiful design. Not great upkeep. Cleanliness was not quite up to scratch. Light switches were sticky, there was mould in the bathroom. Everything had an air of dampness. Staff were beautifully friendly in both reception and restaurant. Spa was mediocre. Massage therapist was not very experienced. I spent an hour wondering when it was going to be over. Kindly enough, but not effective.

Short stay, convenient to airport

We had an early morning flight so only stayed for a day. The pool area is pleasant and the room is modern and spacious. The reception staff could be better as they were efficient but not warm and caring. Food and drinks were good. It looks like it is in a good area but we didn’t have time to explore.

Long beach and friendly people Very comfortable Beautiful place

The lobby was open and spacious and it felt like you were right on the beach. Staff were excellent and very helpful!

Hotel was very nice - room was very nice clean - air con was good - it was a sea view if you can see through the palm trees. Food was very good all round - However... it takes nearly 1:20 for a bowl of chips to come out, if you order more than one thing then good luck, coffee takes best part of 30 mins, if you have any empties then take them to the bar yourself as they don’t seem to want to clear them away. Make sure you are fully aware of any huge conferences that might be on also as they party till late and take the whole place up.

Relaxing few days in a lovely hotel

Received a wonderful upgrade for our first night which made the whole hotel experience so much more luxurious and comfortable. The hotel team looked after our family exceptionally well and ensured all our needs were met.

Great first stop in Sri Lanka

A really convenient first stop in Sri Lanka, great beach,pool and staff. Done a lot of worldwide travelling and will be staying here again.

We booked in for our last night in Negombo, after an amazing 3weeks in Sri Lanka. We read the reviews, some not too good , but our priority was a pool and relaxing day . We weren’t disappointed. The pool is fabulous and right on the beach.as they serve food around the pool , it meant we didn’t have to wait the long “Sri Lankan time “ stuck inside when sun was shining. The bar food was absolutely delicious, a welcome to have some European food . Very reasonabl, quick and beautifully presented. yes there are crows waiting to hop , but and we did see one attack another table, and one swooped down on my daughters chip in her hand while walking to the sun bed. So management should try some “scare crows “: as this may be harmful to small children, not as aware. Apart from that , we also had the buffet food, which was just fantastic, first fillet beef we had, but choices full Sri Lankan and European. Our room was in main building, bright and airy and good accessories and a balcony . Perhaps it is more a 4 star, but would still recommend

Great pool and beach area. Poor service at reception and bar. It's always hard to get the attention from an employee and you have to wait ages for the easiest things. From 2 hours waiting for the luggage to be moved in our room to 10 min for a simple coke at the pool bar. All the extra servives are great, but the basic service is not worth the money.

It’s rated as 5 star and certainly proved as 5 star but nothing about it is at this level poor service and VERY tired in all areas it needs an update !

Stayed across the road in one of the annex rooms. The room has very basic amenities like a two star property. The shower is decent but the furniture and ambience is a let down. If I were to return I will not stay in these rooms but will stay at the main hotel with room fronting the ocean.

Good quality hotel

I stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding. This was my first time here but I did not regret it. The staff are very helpful and the room staff nice and clean. Food was wood quality and breakfast offered Asian and Western food. Be prepared to wait for ages to check out though and also to change money.

Avoid

Used this as a breif stop before a 3am flight. Travelled early from Galle to explore the local area and relax by the pool - wish we hadn’t. Stray dogs roamed everywhere, people trying to sell cheap tat. Not enjoyable. We checked out even earlier than we should have as staying at the airport longer was more preferable.

Pool Side Area needs to be better and cleaner

The trip was really nice however I did not enjoy the idle plates and cutlery that was just sitting on tables by the pool side being mauled by crows. The waiters were so slow and it was very disturbing for all the guests.

Okay. Literally just that. 4 star at a push.

Unfortunately this really isn't a 5 star hotel as they claim. It's okay. Just that. We only stayed there for 2 nights and when we arrived to our room, it seemed as if the room had been empty for quite some time, and as a result there was an unusual amount of mosquitos...especially since all doors/windows were closed, and the repellent was on. I wondered if there was a nest somewhere in the room, because compared to a lot of the hotels we stayed at beforehand it was a very unusual number of them (probably about 20 I had to get rid of in one night). Apart from the mozzys, the room just seemed dirty. For example there was some mould breaking off in the shower and had fallen onto the floor, the corners of the room were dirty...it just didn't feel like a 5 star room at all. Keep in mind we had actually upgraded to a deluxe suite as well. The positives were the breakfast buffet which was one of the biggest buffet's we have seen - plenty of choice and the food was good. The location is nice, literally right beside the beach.

Very pleasant room. Reception staff very welcoming and room staff excellent. Bar and pool food service very slow and poor. Bar staff seemed to ignore guests and pool side waiter got food order wrong . Only one of our family group got the food they had ordered but as we had waited so long we just ate it.

Unsafe for children as well for all

Will never go back and will never suggest anyone to go there. Everything was good but at night street dogs roaming all over hotel passages, running after and attacking on children and women. It spoils 1st night . When we asked for compensation of one spoiled nights ...... they promised us to settle while check out. Next day even the director Lady came to meet us and promised us to look after issue. While checking out we request them they agreed for just 5% discount only f&b mot on room rates. But, when we refuse to pay they all staff of approx 50 ppl start removing our luggage from bus and created chaos. We also ask them to call police. but these Rascals are unstoppable..... though we were not in our country and women and children started affraiding..... we settled it. But, totally dislike hotel along with attitude of staff as well management and the Lady director also.

It's a one star hotel not five

Heaven on earth in Negembo!

Amazing place . Clean hotel. Great food & staff . Location is 20 mins to the airport. Suite with ocean view is preferably.

Quiet night and cool

Booked the annex after long flight and late arrival. Full use of facilities at main hotel across the road. Adequate for our short stay.

Love the dogs!

The hotel premises are beautiful, the bed comfortable. The service is variable, some people are excellent (Charuna at the front desk was very friendly and extremely helpful), while others including some of the waiters seem unsure of their responsibilities. Overall, it was a good stay despite the weather. We love the eco-resort touches (only glass bottles, recycled water for the grounds, caring for stray dogs, the toddy tapper in the palm trees, not too much A/C, but just enough to remain comfortable). However, one area that was very lacking was the food. Both my husband and I got a bout of food poisoning in the three days we stayed there. We know it was the hotel because we didn't eat anywhere else. We were also very grateful to the Jetwing admin at HQ for changing our reservation from the Galle area to Negombo to keep us out of the way of the disaster relief. Overall, we really like Jetwing properties, though this one isn't the favorite.

An excellent hotel with great service and food. They go out of their way to make the stay the best possible. The beach is nice except for close to the water, where trash is a minor issue.

Must stay in Sri Lanka!

Amazing hotel and Staff. I really can't say enough about the stay. Nice rooms with great views, huge bathroom and shower and very comfortable bed. I will be back!!!

Cringeworthy

It's only worth staying here if you have an early morning flight to the airport and you want a short commute there... it is on the beach yes. But the rooms are really bad for a "4.5star hotel". They upgraded us already and it was quite cringeworthy. Food is bad too and the streets is like Patpong in bangkok... I would not recommend this place.

Good choice in negombo BUT

Beach is not functional as it is always a red flag ( read the multiple reviews ) Food and drinks are expensive compared to other hotels and outside locations If you are planning to relax on the beach I don't think it will be possible as their are multiple vendors harassing you every 5 minutes and if you plan to eat on the beach you need to fight with the black agressive birds. The hotel staff and reception don't know much about customer experience and they are not flexible

Convenient location.

Staying at jetwing blue was convenient after a long flight and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Time for a makeover

Staff could be more attentative and the hotel is looking a bit tired it could do with a makeover. Nice location though and good internet.

Great hotel close to beach, bars & restaurants

We booked one of the Annex rooms which are across the road from the main Jetwing complex. Our room was clean and tidy with a comfortable king size bed and good walk in shower. There is noise from the road but it does quieten down the later it gets. Sri Lankans like to use their car horns alot!! Ear plugs are handy. Remember to shut the wooden shutters on the walkway outside the Annex at night and this helps to dampen the road noise. There's a light outside room 604 which shines through the blinds at night so if you need a dark room to sleep I suggest you take an eye mask. I hung my sarong up over one of the blinds to help block out the light. There's no balcony or patio/outside seating area with the Annex room but just pop over the road to the main complex to use the facilities. Great pools, good restaurants. lovely staff.

The location was excellent with many resturants near to the hotel. The swimming pool was very nice. However, the room is not very clean and with the amount of money we are paying, I would expect the condition of the rooms to be much better standard.

Annex good for an early flight

Nice hotel for airport proximity. Beautiful grounds and beach. We stayed in the annex and is was perfect for arriving late and leaving early. Super clean and comfortable.

Well located on a lovely stretch of beach

This is a good hotel with a lovely perspective of the beach from the reception area. There was confusion over the room on arrival despite clearly stating twin beds. We enjoyed two days sunbathing in the grounds/ beach before returning to the airport which is close by. The beach bar staff were lovely. If you do not like birds, there are quite a few crows around but we were not particularly bothered. There are two pools set apart from each other so they were used for an evening swim. There is another Jetwing hotel next door but it was more busy, therefore we were glad of the choice we made. Relaxing and peaceful before the flight home.

Superb Staff & Service

Wonderful relaxing place!

Close to beach. Great breakfast buffet. I arrived after a 22 hour flight and 30 hours in transit at 1am. The staff immediately welcomed me despite the late hour. Very warm friendly intimate feel despite being a large hotel.

Wonderful stay for our last night in Sri Lanka! If you need to stay close to the airport, Negombo is the perfect spot. The resort has a private beach with a gorgeous pool. Across the street you will find loads of restaurants and shops. Negombo is a wonderful and quaint beach town. The resort has shows and activities every night. The cultural show was incredible, it was something you would pay for at a theatre. Staff was friendly and curteous. Overall we loved it!

Beautiful hotel and great service

Solo traveller staying in the annex room (across the road). Staff were wonderful and assisted from start to finish with bags / amenities / places closeby etc. Staff were happy to just say hello and ask about myself (in a non-annoying fashion) and the pool right on the beach was perfect for my first day in sti Lanka! As I stayed on Christmas Eve, I also came back after to dinner to a delicious chocolate Christmas cake on my bed. Made my evening!

Nice hotel for one night stay

My husband and I only stayed overnight from evening to early morning, so we didn't have a chance to explore the area. The hotel is fine for a one night stay. It was the first night of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka, and the staff decorated the room nicely and provided some special treats, which was lovely. The wifi was great. The only issues were that we stayed in the annex, which is across the street from the main building (not far, but didn't like having to cross the street and walk a bit late at night), and the room isn't completely dark, and the traffic on the street got a little noisy (I'm a light sleeper). Otherwise, it was fine for an overnight stay.

Wonderfull beach and pool - good kitchen

I stay sometimes in this Hotel, of course, Jetwing beach has more exclusive, but the price and what they have, do it, is unbelivibale. For me the best, for business trips.

Amazing Hotel with dynamic hospitable staff

It was amazingly good and enjoyed every moment of my stay at the hotel. Lovely hospitalble staff led by an equally dynamic director general manager Hyacinth Gunawardena. Full marks to her and her team. Only issue was that I wanted a sea facing room but was alloted a room whose front was blocked by coconut tree and L shaped concrete structure of the adjoining building. There were couple of mosquitoes inside the room too which can be avoided.
