Roach Motel

As soon as I pulled up it looked nothing like the pictures. It was dark as f*** I didn't even think it was open. So when I went in the lobby it wasn't so bad she talked about breakfast and I was like okay and then she said the elevator's right there. So I went to the dollar store because they didn't have shampoo and I wanted to get some food. So I come back I go in the elevator the first thing I notice is is the alarm in the elevator is disconnected and it's disgustingly dirty. Then I start walking down the hallway in the carpet doesn't look like it's ever been vacuumed and you could see the stuff that was just matted into it. I got into my room the curtain was ripped the bed was half-assed made it actually looked like somebody had just slept in it there was a hole where a refrigerator used to be and it was dirty it stunk I didn't want to put anything on the floor there were s*** dripping down the walls in the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year.

The staff was friendly, and the property was easy to find and convenient. The rooms need updated and needed cleaned better, but it's walking distance to dining and shopping.

Family feel great front desk service takes care of concerns with no problems Mrs.Ruby does over and beyond to make your room comfortable to feel more like home . I love my stays

I always enjoy my stay here! The staff always makes me feel like family and takes care of any concerns I may have with no problem. I would love to see more breakfast and anytime coffee & tea access in rooms or dining area that would be nice. I also miss the pool which was so awesome. Overall I personally love the front desk staff & Dave they are awesome and my stay time here is great!

My door had a hole in it large enough to see through into the hallway and I saw roaches in my room on multiple occasions. 0 stars

The lady at the front desk...she had curly brown / blonde hair and a nice smile. She was extremely helpful when the hotels.com app wasn't working properly and helped get me checked in anyway and it was much appreciated. Her name starts with an A...idk if you're reading this and it matters to you then you know who the hell I'm talm bout. Your A-1 stud front deskstress made this my spot for the foreseeable future..we lit on gang no cap

I feel I've entered an alternate universe reading recent reviews. Front desk was friendly & helpful so I have no qualms there. It's obviously a no/low-frills option compared to its competitors so no qualms there either (didn't walk in expecting a continental breakfast, etc. or anything). That said... -- Had to be assigned three rooms before getting a lock that worked. -- Space clearly hasn't been renovated in a while (at least I hope it hasn't!), so everything is drab & grimey. I'm not sure if my room was a smoker's room...I hope so as that would explain the stained decor. -- I asked for an iron & the front desk worker kindly obliged. But then I noticed the ironing board looked like it was purchased in '92 & last fiddled with in '94. I think this might explain all of the fraying on the TV tray because I think that's where people have been doing their ironing. -- Once checked in & having taken in this 1970s space, I resolved to just sleep & check out as quickly as possible. Bed was comfortable enough so I slept OK (even though the air was rather stale...I don't know how much of that was hotel's fault)...I'd resolved a shower was probably a waste of time but woke up realizing I probably *should* take one (I had an important app't later that day) only to discover two old grimey washcloths hanging on the shower curtain. Yuck. -- Hot & cold water was not a problem with the shower....a happy medium between the two, not so much. One night stay only if the Days Inn is booked.

They had to switch our room because the room we were in had brown stains on the sheets which one of the spots were wet!! Then the second room we were in didn’t have any hot water the refrigerator barely worked

Nothing

This was the worst place I have ever stayed at in my life. The room was moldy in disrepair. There was a partial bar of soap stick in a bathroom vent. There was masking tape in the bathroom door fittings. The parking lot turned into party central on Friday and Saturday nights. Cars playing really loud music. They were using my vehicle as a beer table. It is half hotel and half long term apartments. During the week when the factory shift ended the cars and loud music started at 1:30 am. They urinated on my truck and trailer. I am appalled that Expedia would have this hotel on their site.

Noisey guest next room

Very confusing, one end of the motel had the Jackson Hotel name and the other end had Motel 6 name and they are the same building. Very rundown and the only had a muffin for breakfast. Nothing like the pictures showed. Very disappointed.

Property hasn’t had upkeep in a while, felt very unsafe. We did check for bugs in the bed, bedding had burn holes.

Staff is very nice and accommodating. The rooms are dirty. There was no mini fridge in room we moved to. 1st rooms were dirty bath and light fixture worked when it wanted to. 2nd rooms were cleaner. The bed was comfortable.

The property was relatively clean. Other guests hanging out was an issue.

Nothing work in that hotel. No TV; no ice machine; dirty; smells bad.

Older hotel room was clean no extras.

This was a quick and inexpensive stop for our family traveling with grandchildren. The room/beds were clean and basic. The hallway and elevator were a bit grungey. The lobby was sparce with no furniture. The breakfast "buffet" was packaged donuts and muffins, but the kids thought it was great! There was a bit of noise at bedtime, but later everything was quiet and we slept well. Great rates and convenient to the interstate. A good place to stop if you are not expecting too much.

DON’T STAY HERE!!!!

This place was awful. We booked a non-smoking room but the whole place smells like cigarette smoke. There was no trash can in the room. No place to hang clothes. No luggage stand. There WAS a used Q-Tip on the floor. Paint drops on the floor. Dirt on the floor. Tears/ holes in the linoleum. The shower floor had black stains on it. I elected to not shower because of how dirty everything was. To add insult to injury, there was no WiFi. And there were young adults in the hallway past midnight making lots of noise.

This stay was a so-so stay it served the immediate purpose but was lacking in quite a bit. An older hotel very basic - nothing special the room was fairly clean but the floor was all sticky none of the lamps had knobs to turn them on or off and no coffee maker no refrigerator no microwave, the bed was comfortable but old

The room was not cleaned. There was hair all the bathroom and in the bedding. There was a dollar general basket on floor 2 and 3. There seemed to be a lot of activity going on around the hotel.

Had trouble with the tv and the faucet the staff quickly took care of me with another room. She was very understanding and nice.

The hotel is older, so not 5 star but on our last stay the room was nicer than our previous stay because the updates were more modern. Free breakfast really needs to be revised, nothing left when we got there one hour after it was available.

Positives and Negatives

Short overnight stay on a longer trip. Room was nice and clean, but almost no amenities (only a very small bar of soap, no shampoo). No refrigerator or microwave in room, but they were supposed to be available upon request. Nonsmoking room on second floor smelled clean, but hallway smelled strongly of smoke. Continental breakfast was OK. Had self-made wafflers, but had to cook twice for them to be done. Also, had selection of cereals, oatmeal, small powdered donuts, toast, etc. Had coffee, 2% milk, and apple juice. Note the downstairs hallway away from the lobby was in bad shape, maybe being remodeled but not sure. The only ice machine was out off ice.

Nasty Place to Stay!!!!

Terrible experience: loud Mexican music playing next to the reception desk; had to repeat what was being asked of me 4x; smoke odor in the elevator; dirty hall way to my room; dirty toilet sheet with yellow urine under cover; shower roller was stuffed with a wash rag; restroom smells like a restaurant; pillows had cigarette smell and wrinkled covers like they were used by previous customers. Didn’t sleep well due to the grossness of the whole room; had to leave at 4 am just to get out of there quickly. WOW!!!!

A main elevator is broken. Had to switch rooms due to loud people and broken outlets. That said front desk staff is nice and helpful.

Arrived my room had no ac I went to use to restroom no tissue 😐went i tell her I need a new room got one tv didn’t work then I’m walking down the hallway it’s roaches crawling on the wall I got in my room the bed smells like pee so I spray some air freshener tub was flithy I go check out I forget my phone the lady at the desk gets smart with me like I’m lying tells me to shut up she can’t hear I’m not unlocking the door until I have a and she clearly seen my check out and hand her the card with her number on it very unprofessional tried to little girl me nasty attitude I want a refund it was not worth the stay I was treated terrible ! Mixed last HIGHLIGHT in her hair !

Common areas as well as rooms have a permanent odor and very little was done in the way of cleaning, other than changing linens. My initial room had no lights in the bathroom and no hot water in the shower. Staff was helpful in getting me another room, but it only had intermittent bathroom lighting and lukewarm shower water. The beds and pillows were actually decent, if you only need a place to sleep.

Shame on you for rating this fair. It’s a dump and screaming yelling and pounding on doors from 3:30 to 4 am and again at 7 pounding and yelling. Absolutely dump and felt unsafe

This is the worst of the hotels I have ever visited… carpets in the hallways extremely dirty and filthy, garbage and blotches of paint everywhere… the only ice machine in the hotel doesn’t work they send us to the next door hotel (motel 6) to get our ice…. our first assigned room wasn’t clean and look like someone was recently sleeping there… look at pictures… in the second room we found a cockroach in the bathroom, pink mold in the shower and the floor was very dirty… the walls are very dirty… the microwave was dirty and missing a leg… the fridge was extremely noisy we had to disconnect… the towels where old… broken and with holes look at the picture… breakfast was horrendous… DO NOT STAY HERE… although the front desk lady was extremely helpful trying to do her best to accommodate our needs

Stay anywhere else

I booked online because it has a cheaper hotel and thought the title of "convention center" ment it would be alright. Everything is filthy. The obvious never clean rooms. All the towels had stains. The light fixture didn't work at forst until I realized it was unplugged from under a bed. It should have been a sign that the hotel has smoking and non smoking rooms. There was trash under the beds, grim in the shower, and a used cigarette under the chair in our 'non-smoking' room. The TV is like 20 years old with an awful analogy picture. I think the sheets were clean but given everything else it's hard to say for sure. The shower had no working hot water. A chain run motel would be better than this and for less money. Service at the front desk was pleasant and helpful but over shadowed by the condition of the room.

Overall, nice accommodation the first room we had, had bugs and insects. The second room after complaining about the first was better. They didn’t change the bedding nor did we have fresh towels the entire time we were there so we had to spend our own funds to get needed towels and the free Wi-Fi sucked on the second floor compared to the fourth floor rooms.

No housekeeping

We stayed 5 days. Our room was not cleaned at all. Had to go to desk to get sheets and towels. Didn’t even clean toilet or shower.

Shower was dirty and roaches by a broken microwave. Bed was comfortable.

This place has a bad aperience, homless people outside the lobby, as soon we got there, we didn't even want to go in because everything looks too dangerous and we felt unsafe, so we just went to another area

The bathroom was dirty. Hair,dirt, and soap scum in shower. Asked for a different room but unfortunately the second bathroom was just as bad. Hot breakfast consisted of toast and stale doughnuts.

(Dislike) : Ice machines stayed broken, (I've got asthma) staff and customers hanging at front door smoking, floors nasty in rooms, bathrooms not working properly in room, lots of noise from other rooms during late night hours (waking me up), vending machines taking money (staff nor company owning machines refuses to return my money; one 20oz soda cost me $6.25), breakfast is terrible (only have cereal, waffle, toast, oatmeal) which you fix yourself, and when it's out away in morning (the counters where it's served doesn't get cleaned afterwards. It stays nasty till third shift comes in. Not a good place to stay. I feel I don't have a choice during my travel. Glad I'll never be back this way ever again!

The staff was awesome, short to the point and willing to answer any other questions I had. I didn't like the overwhelming weed smell coming from the doors right in front of the elevator. Furniture definitely needs TLC in the rooms. The entire place definitely needs a face lift.

I was caught off guard. Mold, holes, stain, dirty, illegal drugs everywhere! It’s the worst motel/hotel I’ve ever been in.

Expected Better

I expected a good stay at Jackson Hotel and Convention Center. However, the elevator smelled like pot, the first room I was assigned didnt even have a trash can, and the neighbors were so noisy that I had to request a different room. I was then placed on the third floor next to the elevator, which made noise, as did the people using the elevator in the middle of the night. My room faced traffic on the 45 bypass, so I had to run the air conditioner to drown out the traffic. The room next door had a puppy that woke me up well before I needed to awaken. Suffice it to say, the rating on Hotel.com was misleading, and you truly get what you pay for.

The room had live cockroaches crawling on the floor. Disgusting.

Stayed two nights. First night, I went into room 117 and found three live bugs around the room, discovered a syringe under the mattress, and could feel a grimy grit on the floor. I felt uncomfortable at the thought of taking my shoes off, much less sleeping there. The front desk staff, Adria, was great! She voiced that the 2nd floor had been remodeled and switched my room to 235. This room had none of the above symptoms. It had a little dust under the beds but no bugs or other notable discomforts. I had a good night's sleep! Second night three days later, at check-in I asked for a room close to 235. Lobby staff Nish and Adria accommodated gave me 235 again. Yay! Nish and Adria rock!

This was a pretty dirty hotel, and I think people live there kids playing in hallway late and people coming and going all night didn’t feel real safe. There cleaning staff need to try and clean alittle better. It was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for😩

They are remodeling, which is fine, however the room we were put in was nasty, dust everywhere, soup stains still in the shower, floor durty. Needs a paint job really bad. Desk and chair had stains

Worst place ever to stay in my travel history. Bug infested beds, non working room doors, half left curtains, piss smelly carpet, dirty towels. Top everything off owner wanted to charge separate for tv and microwave. Like I said worst place I’ve ever stayed at and we are in a traveling business where our company sends us to different places every week. Trust me this place is not worth it unless $35 a night

Not as advertised

Pleasant registration clerk. Nice background music. Holy Bible in room. Rooms have a nice look with wood-type flooring. Shower water nice - warmed up quuckly. However, Not a clean environment. Cockroach in room. Bathroom appearance clean, but at closer inspection, shower had not been cleaned-a lot of hair on shower floor. Food under chair cushion. Towels and linens stained, old, wearing out. Hallways smell of cigarette smoke, have paint drips and food on carpet. Trash cans in hallway overfilled with trash. Breakfast included with room - at 8 a.m. almost no cereal left, except instant oatmeal, some white bread, one package of mini donuts, coffee, sugar, creamer. No attendant for continental breakfast. Will not stay there again.

Everything was great, the rooms are nice and staff was excellent !! We enjoyed our stay.

The property was is disrepair inside and out. Noise all hours of day and night. Trash piled up in several areas. Homeless allowed on the front stoop and inside the lobby. Room smelled of stale smoke and weed. Hallway smelled like wet carpet. No shampoo in the shower. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

There was no security and many people maundering around including one playing stereo and bass loud enough to rattle the windows of my room.

Ok for the online price

It’s just something for the time being but I wasn’t comfortable at all. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work, halls are dirty & full of flies & there are a few roaches.

nobody at front desk to check us in for at least 15 min,,,we were 2 adults and they gave us 1 broken chair and said that was all they had....asked for clean towels and wash clothes and they said they did not have any...on sunday someone came to clean room and left towels then...there were cockroaches every where

The hotel was very dirty and nasty and had a smell. I requested a refund because I wasn’t staying there and they referred me back to Expedia since I paid thru you. I still don’t have my refund! No one had contacted me. I will report the agency if my case isn’t handled. This hotel which is actually a Motel 6 needs to be put on the blacklist for false advertisement!

It was nasty, we found roaches in both rooms we had. One room didn’t have hot water at all. There wasn’t anything for breakfast not even a place to sit to eat what little they had!!

There where roaches in the room. I immediately went down to checkout. I would like a refund. and hotel.com should not advertise there hotel.

Super cheap (you get what you pay for here). The entire building is hot. Excluding the room where the AC worked decently. The odor of old marijuana reeks throughout the hotel. I found a small drug scale that had been left in my room. Other than surface dirt the rooms are poorly maintained. Small house roaches in the bathroom. Trash randomly throughout the entire building. Dirty towels left outside rooms for days. Very slow Wi-Fi. No good TV. However, the staff was friendly.

The staff was very nice. Checking in and out. The lobby had no air. I was burning up waiting to get checked in/out so I know they are miserable. The room smelled when I walked it. It was the bathroom. It smelled like pee. The toiled bowl did not look like it had been cleaned. There was also red stuff on the wall which was concerning. Lots of people sitting drinking outside. The side entrance did not work even with my key.

This property should be shut down. drug sales in lot as u pull up, doors broke frozen bugs mold in sink and bathroom dirty thin towels we asked for a refund and because we booked and paid thru expedia the property said they could not refund i had trouble getting thru to expedia so the property was looking for a better room if we could not get thru then because they found a room that was usable the proprty refused to refund when we did get thru to expedia to call to get refund and they couldnt do it because the property said we accepted a room. my husband went to front desk and they again refused. remove this property and the surrounding area it is unsafe!!!!!

The lady at the front desk was great, really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel looks like it’s in dire need of an upgrade. There were roaches in the rooms and the chairs were dirty. The bathroom wasn’t that great either, like I said dire need of an upgrade.
