This place is overpriced, average food and the room were not worth the $2000 we paid for them. My sister fell through the board in the deck with my nephew and hurt herself. The bed was very hard and hard to sleep in The power went out randomly all the time, they run on Solar, which in the heat is not good. Limited menu food which cost you a kidney if you want to eat on the island. The description and photos are very misleading of the island

This property looks like an island paradise in the photos far from true, its rundown, and unsafe. The first day we got here, my daughter picked up my grandson took one step and went through the deck. She ended up with bruising and puncture to her leg, grandson ( 8mths) bang his elbow. Still debating to talk to our lawyer about this. It’s over priced, the way to sign for charges is out of date so others ended charging to our room. Staff took towels from our room that belong to us and we never got them back, asked many times it just become to hard in the end they kept bringing us resort towels. The beds are so hard, will need to see a chiropractor to fix our backs when we get home. Everyone one of us got sick, we think from the chicken wings we ate ( common denominator) some had gastro, as we heard 4 other families on island also did. We had to extend our stay by 1 night, was so sick couldn’t make the flight, instead of charging us the nightly rate they charged previously a new rate which was nearly $600 for the night. The staff were great and helped when possible. We will not be back and will not be recommending to anyone else

Our stay at Iririki Resort was unfortunately underwhelming. While the staff were genuinely friendly, the experience as a whole fell far short of expectations. The resort advertises itself as a four-star property, but in reality, it does not live up to this claim. A major issue was false advertising. Services and amenities advertised as available often weren’t. For instance, the resort claims to have several dining options, but many restaurants were closed or operated inconsistently. The “cultural dining experience” we paid $150 for was a subpar buffet, and food at the pool bar was average pub fare with unjustifiably high prices (e.g., $12 for a bowl of chips). Families we spoke with resorted to eating noodles in their rooms due to the exorbitant costs. Accessibility was another challenge. Earthquake damage in Port Vila meant the Main Street was closed, and the resort’s ferry landing site changed, the new location is steep, unsafe and difficult to access and not 24hrs. Despite the well-kept gardens, much of the resort’s infrastructure was tired and in disrepair. Sun loungers were often broken, pool lights were hanging off with exposed wires, and beach towels were completely worn out. These details, along with misleading advertisements, created a sense of being overcharged for an experience that consistently underdelivered. Iririki Resort has potential, but without significant improvements to facilities, pricing, and transparency it fails to justify the cost.

This property has a lot of potential! The staff are not the most friendly, they either look fed up or they have no knowledge on what you ask them. No customer service at all. The place the rooms and the furniture looked tired. They really need a golf cart or some kind of vehicle to take you around as it is hilly and a hell of a lot of walking in humid hot heat.

The room we had was lovely, they are a good size and we had a nice view. Breakfasts are good, decent range of food. The location was great, just catch the free ferry and you and in the ‘city’. The resort was nice and staff were lovely. Pls remember this is a developing country, not everything is always easily accessible. If you can remember that you will have a great time.

I enjoyed it so much when I stayed here in July that I came back in October. Close to everything in Port Vila but a quiet location. The spa ocean view room is huge and a great place to watch the ships entering and leaving port. Friendly staff and the vibe rubs off to the guests. Make sure that you paddle around the island. I shared the canoe with Cedric and had a great chat. 😁

Seems to have a lot of staff but are not very efficient. Mostly are friendly but maybe not well trained in hospitality. A high standard does not seem to be a priority. 2 poorly presented cocktails cost over $40aud took away the essence of the environment focussing on a bit of a money grab. Constantly having to remind reception of no towels or glasses. No drinking water available in the room. Iririki is in a beautiful location and has loads of potential but really has work to do

We had an amazing 7 night stay at Iririki as a four adult family staying in a family fare. The staff at Iririki are truly amazing and provide a fantastic welcoming service that makes you feel like you’re amongst friends more than just employees at a resort. If you take the time to learn their names and say hello that takes your experience to a whole new level as their culture is all about friends and family. Vanuatu isn’t a highly developed country so expect that this won’t be a high luxury perfect place to stay compared to other places you may have been, there will be things around that are needing fixing or done differently but just embrace it. The family fare was great, nice and open plan with both air con and ceiling fans, bathroom a nice modern presentation with huge shower. Rooms were tidied, beds made, even shelving tidied and clothes folded for you each and every day by room service. Moana, Fiiana and Levina are super helpful and friendly at the experience desk for all of your tour bookings. They were able to help us plan, save money and get the most out of all the things we wanted to do. Sometimes that meant setting up an experience that was outside of a normal organised tour and became more custom to our desires, no problem for those girls they nailed it. Iririki has everything you need for a wonderful experience in Vanuatu stay on the island or go exploring it’s all right there, we will be back that’s for sure!

Iririki sits in a working port and many of the fares/bures/rooms sit directly across from a shipyard and the waterfront grounds which can make for some really noisy nights like music till 2:30am especially when a show is on, anyone paying this much money doesn’t want to be kept up this late, maybe tourism Vanuatu and the resort could have a chat! There were many guests in the same boat as us, with some late sleepless nights. The resort has a bit to go to get to 4 or 5 stars especially with the money your spending is currently 4 stars, just from general detail of fittings in rooms, bathrooms, bed comfort Buffet breakfast was nice everyday, with a good mix of choices available. Availability to kayaks and paddle boards good, snorkelling was easy but then end of the jetty easily tips people off, some sort of improved floating jetty (not the 4 x 44 gallon drums tied together just like my home dam!) would be great for the less stable of guests to ease into and out of the water, flippers need an upgrade as guests walk in them ruining them, although good for a chuckle)! The buffet dinner with either Melanesian dance or fire dance wasn’t all its cracked up to be and at ~$65 AUD was pretty steep for a buffet. The boat/ferry landing team were lovely and conscientious to help everyone. On the whole the stay was relaxing, easy and safe to get around Port Vila, Jim and front concierge staff were very helpful.

Great location, pity about the WiFi, TV & Billing

The resort itself is great and majority of staff are friendly and welcoming. As return guests we were hoping to experience improvements in only a few areas, sadly this was not the case. Island-wide, unreliable and broken WiFi and TV, absolute chaos and confusion with the billing. Many of our fellow guests racked up huge mobile Internet bills as a result. Also, the lack of itemised billing can result in errors on checkout. Strongly suggest taking photos of each and every bill so they can be reconciled at checkout.

I had a deluxe ocean view spa room - it was huge and the best view of the room options here. The resort is probably the best situated in Port Vila - a 5 minute boat ride and you're in the middle of PV. Very quiet, staff are so pleasant and it rubs off on the guests as everybody says hello. The only negative are the dodgy jetty connections to the boat, just a little jump. Would definitely stay here if I stayed in PV again. A big shout out to all the staff during my stay.

Wonderful getaway in a beautiful location with many options for activities on the island. We came as a couple. Things that may deter people is the noise from the nightclub (club lit?) across the water, aim for a room away from reception. It woke us both up on a couple of nights and I am a heavy sleeper. This island has hills and stairs, lots of stairs so if you are unable to navigate this might be an issue. There is a restaurant on one side of the island and can be a long walk if your accommodation is on the other side, especially with kids. The staff are absolutely fantastic. The ferry across to the mainland whenever you need it is great. We would visit again with knowing now where best accommodation is for a quiet spot.

Due to Air Vanuatu going into liquidation I was unable to get on a flight to the resort. Expedia and myself were trying to ring them well over a month trying to get a refund and we both were ignored! Sent emails that were also ignored until recently when I rang everyday constantly. Service on the phone was poor and negligent and they never rang me back like they would say and now they are refusing to give my money back even though I was trying to initiate the refund well in the time I was eligible. I would not recommend booking with this resort until they fix their service to customers. You will be ignored, redirected, neglected and treated poorly by their customer service team.

The staff at Iririki are phenomenal - really kind, everyone says hello and goes out of their way to make your time enjoyable. The food and drinks are awesome, the pools are clean and clear and refreshing. The ferry service is always running and you never have to wait more than a few minutes to catch it to Port Vila. We stayed at the Iririki Resort for nine days, and ultimately left us with very mixed feelings. Overall, the resort is okay. The ‘Island Fare’ rooms have everything you need, there are pools, two bars, and a restaurant. Individually, the staff are friendly, and keen to engage. But, and it is a big but on final reflection, the property falls down on many of it’s promises. The website and brochures show glossy pictures of white sunlit beaches, gloriously blue pools, and promise plenty of amenities - from catamarans to kayaks to adequate seating at the pools. And this is where it comes apart. Those things either don’t exist, or are so tired as to be unusable, or ‘are coming but held up in a container. There is always an excuse. During our stay we had the TV and fridge in the room replaced because neither worked; couldn’t fix the leaking toilet because that was a bridge to far; had to fight to get a seat any day we wanted to sit at the pools; found our room left open and unattended…the list goes on. Notifications to management were met with sympathy but no action. In our last day, with Air Vanuatu having changed our flight 13 hours later, our request for a couple of hours later checkout (despite the room not being follow-on booked that day) was firmly ignored - the sympathetic desk staff being unable to get any answer from management. Overall, you get what you pay for - and if you eat/drink in the resort, pay you will - but be prepared for it not to live up to the hype.

Poorly maintained tv that was almost impossible to work with no instructions. Payed a lot more to upgrade to an apartment with a spa bath that didn’t work and when you let the water out you could hear it coming out straight into the bushes outside. Real shame as it would end up in there crystal clear water right there. Some of the staff were absolutely useless

The buggy service around the Island is pretty ordinary . Granted that they have to pick up and drop off guests all the time but there should be some priority given to some cases . eg: Like waiting to go to the airport with baggage. We waited for 45mins before we decided to walk up to the reception . we booked it for 12pm ( Dep at 1520hrs ) and at 1245 we decided to walk . This is not the fault of the operators ( drivers ) but management must give priority to departing Guests. More Island activities are needed to enhance the Experience. Maybe Jetskis .. More water activities , Also the Guest Experience staff ( who were great) should all be on the same page when selling activities ... sometimes we got 3 different versions of the same activities with no definitive proposals or offer . We give them credit as they tried their best to offer the deals . Overall we were very happy with the staff ( brilliant ) . Its a beautiful Island resort with So Much potential to grow your business. Suggest some input from the locals and survey guests on the spot instead of Online reviews ( most will not do it ) . Thank you for a great time.

We enjoyed our holiday to Iririki Island Resort although the facilities were not as promised. Service is very slow. No golf buggy’s are working so you have to walk to your room with luggage in tow, and it can be a solid 10min walk if you’re on the other side of the island. Not enough lounge chairs near the pool either for the amount of people on site. It is a very run down resort and I definitely wouldn’t say it’s a 4 star property. Shower was leaking which drenched the whole bathroom each time you turned it on. Balcony door was also broken so you couldn’t lock it properly. Not a great variety to eat at the restaurants either especially for lunch options.

The staff were very friendly and helpful There is one suggestion which i would like to see and that is handrails in the large pool area. I have knee problems and was unable to get in or out of those pools without assistance.

before going we read a lot of rather negative reviews about facilities and standards. We have not ecperi4nced any of that - Our room was excellent, clean and facilities were all fine. The snorkelling area was not really anything to consider - no fish and nothing to look at. The service was great everyone super helpful, genuine smiles and helpful with nothing too much with the sole exception of a single western guy at the reception with a continous sour face who would not great anyone and appeared arrogant and seems to be in charge of the reception staff - sad amongst such genuine friendly and happy people. The excursions were fine except that the hotel person supposed to lead ours and provide sandwiches / drinks was over 40 minutes late to appear at the reception with the food and all waiting and we missed the bus on the shoreside....Overall there is nothing negative at all to say about the Resort, facilities and the friendly people there - Moanna in guest relations would have to be one of the prime assets this resort has - ever smiling with a lovely happy face and and able to arrange and fix just about anything. Go Moanna and thank you...

Relaxing and Convenient Stay in Port Vila

Fantastic 7 day holiday as a couple. We were aware there had been issues due to the recent cyclones so we were able to look past the damage and clean ups. The island is a simple 5 min boat ride into Port Vila so you have the utmost convenience without all the hustle and bustle. If you want a nice, relaxing place to stay with numerous pools to chill out in, but still want to be close to the town with all its foodaries and tours, Iririki is great.

Five-star prices for a 1-star resort. This would have to be the worst so called 5-star resort that I have ever stayed at. Facilities, internet, no hot water, TV, dining facilities, even drinks were the worst I ever experienced. The breakfast buffet every morning was shocking. the food in the restaurant, was so overpriced for what you got. most staff had no care factor at all. if you asked for anything you were lucky if anyone did anything. the whole place is very run down. not to mention communication was shocking. on arrival we were dropped off at the boat ramp and forgotten. ( just what we needed after the flights from hell) delayed and cancelled more than 24 hours late.) we had to walk a kilometer with all our luggage to another ramp in the dark with no foot path. the welcoming was not very welcoming, and they kept blaming each other for the stuff up passing the buck. our flight had been delayed and all the other resorts were advised about this and displayed at reception. When checking out not a single word mentioned about the flight delay looked like they wanted us out as soon as possible. The boat ramp to and from the island resort is so dodgy and unsafe. 1 poor guest dislocated their shoulder by falling into a gap on the side that was not lit. Lucky it was not a child or an elderly person. Do yourself a Favour and never go to this very sub standard Resort.

Good stuff: our room was nice and had a great view. The sunset pool was pretty nice. Great location a short ferry-ride from Port Villa town centre. Bad stuff: Staff were indifferent at best, very poor service and staff didn’t really seem interested in helping. The “adults only” infinity pool was filthy and also always full of kids. Rooms were in poor repair in some areas - like multiple tiles lifting in shower and bath, hot water non-existent. The sunset pool is a long hike (about 800m) from the main side of the island - would be better if there was some kind of regular buggy service to ferry guests between the two. Food was average. Overall the experience was disappointing and didn’t leave me wanting to come back. We had Occassion to stay briefly at two other hotels during our stay and both of them were much better especially in terms of staff & service.

Unfortunately Iririki advertised their Sunset pool and bar would be open. It was nowhere near open. The area also needs lots of cleaning. Only the main pool and restaurant open. Meals were good. Breakfast not so great. Disorganised and lots of mistakes made with orders. Huts were as I remembered them but tissue box and bathroom caddy that holds the shampoo etc smelt of mouldy and it looked mouldy. (Same for other guests) Bedding was very clean though. Trouble with hot water/wifi and TV. (Also same for other guests) Also as mentioned by a lot of people in reviews noise from the nightclubs. Take ear plugs. Vanuatu people however are lovely. Lots of people coming in as we left. I hope the owners put on more staff to get the place clean and tidy. Return visitors like us and many we spoke to may not come back unless these issues are rectified.

Huge gaps in doors allowed spiders and mosquitoes to come in during the night and feast on us. Most of the property is unsafe and off limits to guests due to at least a decade of deferred maintenance. Large pool is closed. Kids club closed. Rooms are falling apart due to active termites and water damage. Safe doesn't work. Ceiling fans don't work. Toilet quit working in middle of night, making for a pretty rough morning. Lots of apologies, no discounts. Won't be back, ever.

Winter break

Vanuatu is just opened post Covid so some tourist related companies and events are not re-established, yet. The island and people are amazing and worth the visit. Iririki resort had not advertised that as they too were just reopened that more than half of the resort and its associated facilities were not open or available to guests. However what was open we did enjoy. One issue was the very slow service and less than ideal front desk who took 90 minutes to sort billing and check out.

Beautiful resort and people

I stayed for 4 nights, and had a great time. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. A lot of activities to do on the island and easy to take the ferry across to the main island. Only negative I have is the food at the resorts, it was very overpriced and not the best quality. I would have loved if they served more local dishes instead of imported foods.

Choose elsewhere to stay. Old and outdated but still charging premium prices. Past it’s prime - maintenance has not been maintained- pool tiles missing and wooden decking damaged. Service care factor is zero - took 45 min and 2 requests to get eggs at breakfast, smoke alarm went off in middle of night and again 2 follow ups to get any action, tv had to be reset as was not working. Not enough lounges by pool for number of people staying on property. Not child friendly - not permitted to stay in overwater bungalow with a child even though happy for you to pay this level of room. On the positives - Close to city of port villa, and short boat Ride across, boat service runs frequently

Caravan park facilities at luxury resort prices. This was a very disappointing last night for us in Vanuatu as nothing seemed to work. The tv had 1 station and when we tries to change the channel we then got no stations, the wifi simply didn’t work, no matter where we tried to connect, but to top it off when we requested to have a midday checkout rather than the 11 am standard checkout we were simply told the checkout time is at 11 am and that was that even though we were quite prepared to pay for the privilege. We were there just after midday to checkin after the previous property was only to obliging to allow a midday checkout and while waiting in the reception we saw the previous occupants checking out at 12.10 so what is good for 1 should be also good for the other. We paid $A385 for the 1 night here and the overall impression left a rather sour taste on what had been a beautiful stay with beautiful people.

Terrible food. "Little Italy' - the pizza was anything but Italian. Kids club is dreadful, staff weren't friendly, didn't turn up to scheduled activities. We waited 1 hr for the coconut harvesting no one turned up. No kids bikes, no paddle boards (as advertised). Everything was extortionate 400VT for a bottle of water but 100VT on the mainland. We were scheduled to stay 6 nights and left after 3. When I informed a member of staff and the reasons as to way he laughed and said there was no refund.

We were travelling with a 3 month old baby. The staff made our stay as relaxing as possible, even taking our baby off our hands anytime food came to our table in the restaurant, so that we could enjoy a meal together without the normal baby distractions. They were extremely friendly and made us feel comfortable wherever we were in the resort. The cobbled pathways around the island were a little bumpy for our pram so would recommend bringing a sturdy pram To get around the resort, otherwise they have carts that can transport you wherever you want to go which is very handy.
