The hotel itself is excellent, except for some unpleasant check-in experience, which was resolved nicely afterwards.

The hotel has an impressive view of the city. It is very modern and clean. Excellent location: it is next to the entrance of subway Line 1.

Had some payment issue at check in. Problem cleared in about 10 minutes. Reception gave me a free breakfast because of this problem. The hotel is the tallest building in Nanjing. Subway line 1 and 4 is right outside of the hotel. Big room size! Friendly staffs.

Friendly staff and good location

The hotel shut off the AC, so there is no AC. The room is too warm, we could not sleep well at all.

I would still want to stay there but would skip the cocktail bar.

Nice and unique place to stay

I have stayed in this hotel may times and each time I am amazed how everything is so great in this hotel. From the room, customer service, house cleaning, amazing breakfast.... all and all is perfect.

better than I expect

I live in Nanjing and wanted to treat myself to one night in my city's tallest building. The staff were generous and welcoming. The location and views are obviously amazing. The bed was dreamy and the shower was powerful. The only possible complaint would be out of date decor that is not only dated but starting to show stains and damage.

Luxurious hotel in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay here - the room was on the 67th floor with fantastic views of the city. Breakfast was extensive and high quality, and the lake and Ming Walls were very close, as was the subway. A couple of areas for improvement would be the bars, which weren't amazing, and the temperature of the room. We were only there in April, and it was already too hot at times for the AC to cope - wouldn't fancy being there in the height of summer!

Nice hotel

Great service - average room. Staff were wonderful. Disappointed that the central pane of glass in our room (floor to ceiling) was so dirty I couldn’t see the view... unable to adjust room temperature to a comfortable temperature. Could change the setting but wouldn’t stay on that setting. Room hot & stuffy.

Great Service, great stay!

From the moment we arrived, Iris, the fantastic receptionist, made us feel very much at home and took care of everything we needed. Concierge were also extremely helpful in helping us to book cars throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was fantastic and the service was impeccable. We were staying to celebrate a birthday as well as lunar new year. We will definitely come back.

Luxury Hotel

Top quality hotel, excellent food and service, Concierge very helpful and Reception arranged for a late check out with no drama when my wife felt ill. Metro station immediately across the road. Luxury!!

Must Stay Hotel in Nanjing

InterContinental is an amazing stay in Nanjing! The view of the city is absolutely breathtaking (especially from the 45th-floor balcony and 78th-floor bar). My room was spotless, spacious, and exceeded my expectations. All of the hotel staff was friendly and if I had any problems, there was always somebody to help. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day. Any food you want, whether Western or Chinese can both be found in the hotel. Would stay again, 5/5.

nice hotel to view the lake and City

Disappointing

The air conditioner was not working property and the room was hot and stuffy. My initial request to the reception to look into the problem was not attended to, and only upon pressing at the reception, the management finally revealed that they were in the process of upgrading the system and my problem could not be dealt with until the day I checked out. They then changed me to another room, asked me to open windows, and hopefully with the room facing east, the room would be cooler. With windows opened, there then came the traffic noise! If he hotel had problem with the air-conditioning, they should have led the customers know in the first place and not try to hide it! The breakfast should have been excellent with a great variety of delicious food. Unfortunately my wife found a long hair in the salad she was about to finish. She took a photo and intended to complain. I asked her to forget it and keep the photo as a souvenir from a 5-star hotel.

Nice, except for the bathroom

While the room was spacious and comfortable (great bed), the bathroom had a truly terrible odour. This made my stay very unpleasant.

Happy stay (fantastic hotel)

It's really very good esp the stay. The room is large and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Distance to the Metro is super near. The only regret is it is hazy and air not so clean but that's nothing to do with the hotel.

The absolutely perfect hotel for an urban getaway

This is a fabulous hotel, so enjoyable you almost won’t want to leave to explore the city. Impeccable service, very comfortable room, excellent amenities. The staff speak very good English so it is an easy choice for international visitors. It’s well located for exploring Nanjing, which is a very interesting and pleasant city.

Great hotel, mediocre service

The hotel is located centrally and close to the NJ University, the Xuanwu Lake, and the Rooster Temple, as well as on subway line #1. The front desk staff was excellent, very patient and helpful. I got upgraded to a room with a wall of windows, and my parents got upgraded to a suite that was quite luxurious. Breakfast had a great variety of both Chinese and western food. My only complaint is about food/drinks service in certain parts of the hotel. The 76th floor restaurant and the 45th floor bar both had terribly sluggish and impolite service. It took forever for all the dishes for our lunch to come and we had to cancel one dish which wouldn't come after we were done eating. It took forever for the barista on the 45th floor to bring the beers to us. The service staff should receive some training in efficiency. At breakfast, the staff couldn't make a latte properly and it was always lukewarm.

Wonderful

Stayed in one of the club rooms - enjoyed dinner and breakfast every day in the club lounge. The staff were all very nice and anxious to please. The staff in the Summit Restaurant helped us arrange a last-minute luncheon for several of our local friends/colleagues, and it was just perfect!

okay although food very over priced and not much choice. may stay again but only if for one night. swimming pool caps not okay so wouldnt use pool. not overly impressed

hotel is nice rooms excellent. bed very comfortable. food choice not great not happy with swimming pool....you pay a good amount to stay and are then expected to pay for a swimming hat!!! probably would choose another hotel in nanjing as a result

The room was fine. The staff at the front desk seemed out of the loop however, all other staff was wonderful. All in all a rather nice stay. Ordered an early breakfast as my flight left before breakfast was served. I asked for coffee with the breakfast, none to be found and actually took more then a few attempts to make clear to the front desk staff that I had placed the order. In short there seemed to be a real disconnect between staff. Check in took a bit more time and effort then seemed necessary but at least they were rather pleasant about it. Check out seemed arduous as well. Still as I said before overall a good stay.

One of the best in China!!

Stayed here for a conference. Staff is friendly, room is fancy, and the entire property is new and clean! Totally worth the money. The real deal is that I got to use Google and checked Facebook, which is awesome in China!! Highly recommended!

A shopping mall next to the hotel. Room and bathroom is very spacious. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Also a subway station closed to the hotel in less than 5 min walk.

Unable to use A/C. My room and building common areas were a bit stuffy at times.

great hotel for family or business trip

Spacious room with lake view, nice buffet breakfast with a variety of food options. Friendly staff and convenient location to shops or transport.

Enjoyed a nice stay, however upon arriving in the room found that there was no hot water for bathing. Reported this to the front desk but it was never fixed!

Overall Totally Disappointing

There were multiple problems that I left a list of 9 different things wrong with the stay. No internet. I had to demand someone come fix the internet. Bathtub didn't work. HVAC unit didn't work. Etc., Etc., Etc.. I will never stay there again. Serious communication gap between front desk and any technician or other personnel needed to resolve the situations.

Luxurious rooms

Hotel was not near retail shopping area but conveniently located to metro train system. Concierge not knowledgeable on local restaurants so we only discovered cheap eats on 3rd day of stay there.

The staff was incredibly nice including giving us an upgrade in the room to have an outstanding view of the lake.

The best in Nanjing!

The hotel is prominent on the cities landscape and offers a luxurious stay. The room layouts are original but occasionally not practical. We had a great round tub but it was located awkwardly in the middle of the room. The toilet was not a very private stall. The staff was very helpful. For where you are it was a great stay with the best views in Nanjing.

It's a good hotel but it's rundown and the housekeeping isn't as good as it should be for a 5 star hotel

Good location. Hotel staff is polite. A waitress named Sophia served at 45th floor restaurant is very helpful and patient. But some of the food and soup for buffet dinner were not hot enough or even less than warm. But overall the hotel is good for everything.

Great location close to metro.

Service was great, lobby bathroom facilities a little small, but acceptable nonetheless. There was one instance of when i went into the bathroom that there was urine and human waste on the floor, but i guess the cleanliness of others when an issue has just occurred cannot be blamed on the hotel staff. I went back to the same bathroom later that afternoon and it was cleaned up.

An oasis in Nanjing

Beautiful hotel in a great location in Nanjing. I stayed there over a weekend in between reservations at the typical Chinese business hotels, so this was a pleasant experience. Great amenities, food more expensive than local restaurants but perfect options if you're traveling alone and don't speak Chinese. Service is different from what you might be used to in the US, but everyone is very friendly and helpful. Also, perfect location to many tourist attractions.

Best hotel ever

2 nights in June. This is probably the nicest hotel I have ever been in. Go to the restaurant on the 47th floor for excellent food. There is a subway stop about 1 minute away so this is also very convenient.

Great hotel, great views, great location!

It's almost a 5-star hotel with a 4-star price. We got the pool to ourselves most of the time. It's a 3 lanes, 25 meter pool. Hotel room is huge and spacious with a 45 inch TV, with many channels to watch different shows. Hotel is next to subway station that can pretty much take you anywhere in town. Will definitely stay here again next time to Nanjing!

This hotel offers exceptional value re room rates, with an excellent staff. The only negative would be the high prices charged in their onsite restaurants

Excellent service

With so many 5-star hotels around town, service is what makes this hotel stand out. In true new money glamour the rooms were modern, luxurious, comfortable, the selection at breakfast was enormous, great location right next to the Gulou metro station; but the service was what truly impressed. We checked in late coz of flight delays but there was still a queue at midnight, and they "compensated" us with a free upgrade and chocolates. The late night snacks and extra bedding were all served up with a smile. Staff at breakfast attended to guests promptly, and by the time we were done with breakfast they often had a taxi waiting for us downstairs already (that's a feat in China!). Don't think I could fault them at all...

equipments are relatively old. check in was slow. everything else is nice. don't go to the restaurant on the 78th floor, food was bad.

Wonderful hotel

This is a wonderful hotel located right on the metro. We have stayed here twice now (once in the summer and, once again, just last week for New Year). We also intend to stay again in the future. Breakfast is good, if not a little chaotic; in-room dining is excellent; the rooms are very nicely appointed, large and relatively quiet; lovely staff; and great views when the pollution is low. One minor point regarding our most recent stay in the winter - when the hotel had its heating system on the room was incredibly warm. We changed the air conditioning system from heating to cooling on arrival, setting the temperature at 19 C. It never dropped below 25 C during our 4-night stay, making it difficult to sleep. However, having travelled throughout China in hotels of a similar class, this seems to be the norm.

The hotel itself is nice, but the people who serve should be more professionally trained. I mean this is Intercontinental, they should serve everything in top quality, including response to guest's request.

I loved this hotel. The service was terrific. The hotel manager and staff were very personable and helpful. The food selection was great. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, supper buffet and Chinese restaurant. The rooms are beautiful. I would advise staying on a high floor to enjoy the view. If you are planning on staying in Nanjing, I would definitely recommend staying at this location.

Spectacular rooms but service lapses

I had very high expectations of this hotel, and the rooms met these expectations. Spacious, high ceilings, luxurious, sleekly modern, and comfortable with spectacular views over the lakes, hills and cityscape of Nanjing from the floor to ceiling glass wall. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Bathrooms were equally luxurious with separate free standing tub and shower compartment. A bonus was the inclusion of both an English language movie channel and HBO in addition to the usual news channels. The services in the hotel, however, did not meet my expectations. The advertised outdoor pool was not open although water and attendants were present(!!) Wifi, which is free in the cheapest hotels, cost $US 20 per day(!!) There was no casual restaurant to have a light, fast meal(!!) There was no lobby shop to purchase incidentals like magazines, candy bars etc(!!), and there was no comfortable place to sit in the lobby(!!) Public spaces are worn in places; for example, the carpet in the breakfast restaurant is ragged and dirty. These lapses are inexcusable in a five star hotel.

This is a premier hotel. We upgraded to Club level and it was absolutely worth it, especially because of the national holiday and demands on the hotel. We would suggest adding an ATM in the lobby.

Nanjing's Tallest Hotel

I had a pleasant stay at Intercontinental Nanjing. My room was very spacious, it had a glass partition separating the bath and the room, which can be made private with a motorised curtain screen. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and attentive, the TV in my room was malfunctioning, I told them about it and within minutes a technician came to solve the issue. The front desk did not have a problem communicating in English, but for the technician, I guess he's sub-contracted to solve the hotels technical problems therefore he was not able to communicate as well. The hotel is located strategically outside Gulou Station, which makes taking the metro a breeze. There is Hunan Rd. nearby for shopping and Shiziqiao Pedestrian St. that branches off Hunan Rd. for lots and lots of delicious food. Wouldn't mind staying here again! =)

Excellent Hotel with slightly disappointing gym

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay: the room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were excellent - i would stay again. The only slight disappointment was the fairly small gym, and only lukewarm jacuzzi.

We stayed from Oct 26 to 28, 2013.

Not bad, room needs renovation. The lobby is on ground floor. You need to take an elevator to reach the hotel at 43rd floor. Then, you have to take another elevator to reach your room. The Sunday buffet and breakfast restaurant on 43rd floor is excellent. We asked the doorman about the Nanjing Museum and were told that it was open. We took a taxi there and found out that it was closed for renovation. We could not find a taxi and had to take subway back to hotel. We wasted 2 hours of our valuable traveling time.

too tall jones

Awesome place. Staff gave it a good try but need more experience not just training. A few shining stars, like the staff for check in/out. The steak on the 78th floor was pretty awesome even if it was Australian beef. Not cheap but on par with other good steak houses. The staff was nice and they tried but made many common mistakes. the bar had a few expats Guest Relation staff, they were really awesome and watching things very carefully. real pros..

I really loved this hotel. Amazing room, good food. My only complaint is that no one explained how the elevators worked and that was really confusing. I would suggest explaining this to each guest upon check-in. I would definitely stay here again!

THE Landmark building in Nanjing

We originally booked the Sheraton and were disappointed as the hotel was a bit old. The Intercontinental was a similar rate so we moved there for the last night. The building is a landmark and the overtones of the Burj Dubai and the Jinmao Tower are no coincidence as its the same architect. We stayed on the 60th floor and the view was fantastic. Could see the Yangze River and beyond. The staff and service were very good and at international level. Having experience of the construction industry makes me super critical about the decoration and I would say that the design is really good but the execution of the decoration detail is not good and may show signs of early aging in the coming months/years. Overall though, well worth it, a good location and a great experience.

체크인 때 약간 영어가 능숙하지 못하다는 느낌은 있었으나 매우 친절하고 밝은 표정으로 체크인 절차를 마쳐주었고, 1시간 정도 일찍 도착했으나 바로 체크인 가능했음. 45층에서 엘리베이터를 한번 갈아타야 했지만, 직원이 배치되어 밝은 표정으로 맞이해 주었음. 아침식사도 45층에서 하는데, 다소 좁은 느낌은 있었으나 음식도 풍족하고 맛도 괜찮았음. 객실에는 치약/치솔, 면도기, 슬리퍼, 드라이어기 모두 잘 구비되어 있고, 수압 등도 문제 없었고, 침대와 침구가 아주 편안했음. 룸서비스를 요청했는데 영어가 능숙하지 않은지 객실로 직접 방문하여 주문을 받았음. 룸서비스로 주문한 피자는 맛이 아주 별로였는데 개선되면 좋겠음. 76층 'Summit' 중식당은 전망도 좋고 음식맛도 훌륭했으며, 주문했던 와인도 괜찮았음. 서빙하는 직원도 친절했음. 호텔 1층에서 쇼핑몰로 바로 연결되어 편리하였는데 쇼핑몰에 위치한 스페인 레스토랑도 맛이 있었음. 전반적으로 좋은 호텔이고 난징에 좀더 많은 외국인들이 와서 난징의 역사와 멋과 맛을 함께 느낄 수 있으면 좋겠다는 생각이 들 정도로 만족스러운 여행이었음.

A brilliant view of the city yet the hotel is a bit old.

地下鉄鼓楼駅から徒歩5分以内で着く、ホテル前にもバス停がある大変便利な場所にあるホテルです。 周辺には庶民的なレストランやパン屋、コンビニも3軒あり、買い物にも困りません。 部屋は最初に泊まった部屋で水道が止まるトラブルがありましたが、スタッフにすぐに部屋を変えてもらうことができました。 西に面する部屋は少し室温が高く感じるかもしれません。 朝食は種類も豊富で1週間連泊しても飽きませんでした。

広くていここちいい

Aircondition out of order and could not be fixed. 30 degrees in the room. Very few english speaking staff. Most did not understand a word. Rooms need redecoration.

酒店电梯经常不开空调，人多闷热，空气特别差。每次反映一下，就开，第二天又关了。一个五星酒店连电梯空调都舍不得开，不能接受。客房通道和电梯经常有香烟味和烟头，并且房间厕所也有烟味，明明是禁烟楼层，和房间。总之以后再也不会住州际的酒店了

很近鼓樓4號出口 步行30分鐘可到玄武湖/新街口 樓下亦有餐廳 非常方便 床很舒服 花灑水壓很好 早餐不好食…… 另外房價開始有少少舊了 整體來說很滿意，高性價比
