My ratings for this property are based on my expectations. This is a 2 star hotel so be aware that you are paying for the location which is literally on the beach. Do not expect 4/5 star quality for a 2 star price. I have been all over Thailand for many years and this met my expectations. It wasn’t perfect but that was easily made up for and/or surpassed by the location and the wonderful staff. Staff were absolutely fantastic and I can’t praise them highly enough. Very kind and attentive. They even agreed that I could do a bank transfer to them and they would give my the cash after I lost my wallet with all my cash and cards. I’m so grateful to them. Rooms were cleaned daily and bottles of water supplied. I would definitely return again and would recommend to anyone on a lower budget who doesn’t need absolute perfection.

Loved being right on the beach and such a quiet area. Convenient to walk to all desired. Staff is EXTRAORDINARY. A blessing. My room was ok but located too close to service areas. Yes, I would prob go again but diff.room

I wont go back

Hotel needs renovations.. I had a room with really bad sewage issue and smell was awful. Water pressure was really low and water quality wasn’t good ( yellow water).

Everything was great, friendly staff, great breakfast. Location perfect and quiet and secluded (if you like that kind of thing)

You pay for the location, not for a good room

PROs - the staff is nice, the owners daughter was nice and tried to accomodate everything in her power, the beach just in front the hotel is just perfect. amazing waves. The location cannot be better! CONs - the sheets had holes and stains, there was no mattress protector, meaning you simply sleep on the sweat and dust of the thousands of people before you as the mattess itself was very old too, the warm blanket was old and disgusting with only a thin sheet layer around it not even fully covering it, the A/C was barely working enough to cool the room, the fridge was dirty, the bathroom was dirty (don't let the marble pics fool you) . The rooms are very poorly isolated. They did not change the bathroom feet towel over the whole length of the stay. There was sand everywhere and the last two nights the bed was infested with ants which bit me a lot in the night.

I stayed at IOTB recently after doing the sandbox at the s***hole Patong and it was such a great week and a bit. I have been to IOTB some 14 years ago and loved it then as well. Some of the rooms are better than others so best check the room before you move in. 405 was excellent with great hot water, a/c and fan with great view to the pool and beach. This side of the building does get early sun until about midday but the afternoons are in shade which I preferred. Breakfast is included but if you're a big eater I would suggest you go out. The owner (Buoy)is lovely and will go out of her way to make you stay fabulous.

Отель расположен очень удачно, на первой линии, до пляжа 30 метроов, номера дрстаточно просторные, уборка каждый день, завтрак порционный, стандартный для Пхукета. Рядом с десяток ресторанов. До ночного рынка минут 10 пешком, рядом с ним лаборатория, где можно сдать ПЦР-тест перед отлётом. SWAB-центр в 5 минутах хотьбы. До Каты 5-10 минут на тук-туке. Не будете разочарованы!

Good location, comfortable family business.

Heavy Scandinavian and Euro guests staying so coffee at breakfast was good as was the breakfast overall. The hotel booked us a scooter that was delivered to us. We rode up to Big Buddha and across to Patong Beach area. Recommend for experienced motorcyclists only as riding here is challenging. Hotel located right on the beach and within walking distance to downtown Karon.

Cozy Beachfront In at the Beach..living the dream!

In by the Beach is a quaint hotel right on a lovely less crowded end of Karon beach. It is very safe, clean and hosts a fruit punch, sweets and fruit happy hour each day at 4:00 poolside. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a variety of fresh items to choose from. Sunsets are Amazing from the beach or your balcony. Many European families spend 2 weeks here to enjoy the sunshine. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday and 1 hour taxi ride from the airport. There is a weekend market 1 minute walk away as well as 2 beachfront restaurants. Party Bars, restaurants and shops in Karon are 5 minutes walk away. The Sea is clear and cool, the sand is white and so fine on your feet. The hotel rents beach chairs and umbrellas. Some rooms have a lake view as well. The bed was comfortable, a small refrigerator and hot pot for morning coffee are nice touches. Listening to the waves crashing from my balcony now and I'm living the dream!

Best Location but Poor Housekeeping

The hotel stuff are Friendly and it's literally on the beach (you or your kids don't have to cross any street, also you can hear the ocean waves in your room which is very relaxing),the rooms were renovated and the bathroom is just new, BUT there was humidity in my pillows and bedsheets like they were stored for long time and if you want them to change it they will charge you 1200bhat!!!!! Which is ridiculous! I wish the owner care more about housekeeping, it's not going to cost him anything! The location may look scary and isolated on your arrival but there are restaurants 5min walking and mega 7-11 7min walking, the area is safe even at night. Beach Dogs are friendly just give them some food and water :) most guests are decent russians.

Main attraction is the beach, perfect location, without have to go tru the traffic. A walk-distance to the crowd, shops, restaurant and bar. The night is quite and peaceful, enjoyed our night time sitting outside, all to our self with its lovely breeze and sound from the ocean.

The location of this property is worth the money just on its own. If you are a beach lover like myself and don’t want to waste time and energy to commute to the beach every day then this place is for you. The room I had was spotless and cleaned every day I’m very good condition. Everything worked with no issues. The pool area is relaxing in itself, perfect for a lazy dip and drink before or after the beach or even all day. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful and there is always someone at reception to help with any needs. It’s a 3 minute walk to 7 restaurants and a 8 minute walk (yes I timed them) to Karon centre where there is many quality restaurants and nightlife with a very nice nightmarket on tuesdays and fridays. Overall I had a great experience at In On The Beach and will return again.

Location being right on the beach. Beer available and small food vendors just up the road. A bit pricey for the hotel as very basic but paid for the location (I think it was cheaper on another booking site but forgot what one)

Great Location

Great location right on Karon Beach.Lots of restaurants nearby. Small night market on weekends. Rooms are in good condition but have no room service. There are a couple of dogs which are friendly but sometimes follow up all the way in this three storey property. Definite no for people uncomfortable with dogs/pets. No lifts..steep steps which can be troublesome for elderly. Nice pool with loads of sundeck chairs, hotel rents out sundeck chairs for use on the beach and provides beach towels too. Breakfast is nice but has little vegetarian/vegan options

Nice hotel close to the beach and surrounding restaurants and shops. Value for money. Recommended!

Great location and nice and quiet

Extremely dated and old. Booked nonrefundable 6 nights, stayed 1 night but paid for 2. Got a refund for 4. If you book this make sure to get the refundable option because our room was horrible. Has suchs potential but is old, messy, noisey, and just dirty. Would not recommend, but appreciate them refunding the nights. Although if they hadn't I would have contacted my credit card company.

The best location, right off the beach, quiet but close to everything... sure a little update would b nice, but really!!! These people are soooo very nice, they are really conscious about keeping everything clean and for the amount of time spent in the room, this was Awsome... walk to the left and the first restaurant Nong Harn is delicious...❤️

Nice hotel close to beach

I suppose what made this a little pricier compared to other hotels in phuket was the very close proximity to the beach and the pool. (I stayed at one in Patong for $20/night CAN and it was great.) But in karon it's more relaxing as well if that's what you're looking for. All in all - worth the cost.

Disappointed

The hotel's glory years are over. We had to ask to have the beach chairs cleaned, they were disgusting.dirty ashtrays, stinky room, ants marching across the bathroom, bathroom doort that wouldn't close, and a foot washing station with dead crabs in it. Moldy curtains, etc And busloads of noisy Chinese who were not asked to be considerate to other guests. While the beachfront location is lovely, the beach is quite dirty. However can not fault the very good staff. Breakfast was just ok.

Lovely quiet location 20 second walk to beach . Staff friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and balcony was great ,I thought room could've done with a quick paint but really nice place all in all , will stay there next time I'm in Phuket

Absolutely beach front away from traffic, but a 5 min stroll to main shops. Nothing fancy..but everthing you need in the room. Fantastic staff.

Nice small hotel with pool on the beach

Some confusion over shuttle pick up but once we arrived it was a great older hotel located on the quieter end of the beach but within short walking distance to all amenities. Some upgrades were being made to the room next to ours leaking a strong smell of paint, lacquer or varnish fumes into the hall which vented into our room. We asked to be moved and were initially moved to a twin room which was resolved the next day by the female proprietor who immediately upgraded us to an executive suite away from the fumes where we were thoroughly appreciative and comfortable for the rest of our trip. The breakfast on the rooftop was yummy and a great perk, along with the clean and tranquil outdoor pool and afternoon treat. Lovely stay, especially grateful of the proprietor personally coming to get us in our room when we almost missed our taxi to the airport.

Lovely hotel, right on the beach.

So glad we found this hotel. We originally booked for 4 nights but ended up staying for 16 nights. Why move when you find a perfect location and a base to explore other areas such as Phuket, Kata, Phi Phi Island and more.

Right on the beach

This little hotel is located directly on the beach. It is also off the beaten path at the end of a cul-de-sac which means you don't have to cross the crazy traffic to get to the beach and all that crazy traffic isn't going by the hotel all day long. It's about 1000 meters from the busy city center where most of the more expensive hotels are located. This is a hidden gem and I would not even consider any of the other hotels we saw on this trip.

Convenient and clean hotel

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is around 30 meters from the sea, so it has great location for swimmers, sea and beach lovers.

Great location friendly staff

Nice small hotel. Location is fantastic. Whilst I stayed renovations are underway , which was a little annoying but I amsure future visitors will get the benefit.

Not terribly impressed, despite positive reviews. Sand on the floor, animal droppings on bathroom mirror, and overall dated and unkempt feel. Also, wafting smells of sewage during rains. Would not recommend, unfortunately.

Quiet Place for Relaxing

Small inn with a beautiful view of the water. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good budget Hotel

It is a unique family run small Hotel and depending on your circumstances, (we are Seniors), expectations and budgeting, we found this Hotel ideal for us. It's tucked away at the end of a no thru road, no traffic to worry about, 6 Asian eating houses 100m away and you are right on the beach. Rooms are delightful, staff are brilliant and it's a pleasant 10 minute walk to the main shops, restaurants and hotels in Karon. Kata beach is a further 1 hour walk but well worth the exercise. Remembering the old adage, you only get what you pay for, but when on holidays, a Hotel room is only to sleep in after all.

Place needs renovation or more accurate descriptio

On day one we found out the mentioned restaurant on the rooftop and next door was not functioning due to renovations, weather, or just low season. On day 2 our satélite TV option went down possible because of the same reasons mentioned before. I understand the wind factor but it's horrible when they promise it will be fixed next day and it takes 2 plus days. On day 3 we experienced some more issues connecting to wifi. On day 4 our electricity went completely out and didn't come back until 6 pm even though we were told the city promised by 2 or 4. The worse part is it didn't allow for us to have water pressure because it was connected to an electrical pump. The hotel discounted that day half off thankfully but it was stress ful. Some good points are it's location: quite side of karon beach near local food and all the shops. They helped us get taxis and we're very nice. It's not their fault it was rainy and the pool didn't seems to be clean enough because of it, or that the furniture is very old, the place is in need of a lot of cosmetic help, and the mini bar really means they have concessions in the lobby. They do offer to let you borrow umbrellas and chairs, the a.c. was cold and the bed was comfy. Like I said, the people were nice and the location was good but please do not assume what they list as amenities will be accurate or think the weather won't stop from making the hotel inhabitable.

Location on the beach

Generally a good stay but the air conditioning in the room was a real problem,blowing over the beds. The laundry service was rather poor and we had 1 pair of pants ruined by someone using an iron on synthetic fabric.

Lovely hotel right on the beach

Great little hotel; right on the beach but away from the busy (noisy) areas. Perfect if you want to swim in the sea but prefer not to lounge about on sand. Helpful staff and good breakfast. WiFi works well.

Lovely friendly hotel, close to beach and town

A very friendly family run hotel, nice and clean, great pool, perfect location directly across from the beach but close to town. Excellent free breakfast plus juice, cake and fruit offered at afternoon tea.

Very close to the beach

The staff is very friendly and our second room had a wonderful view. The hotel is more of motel than hotel with a decent breakfast. It is walking distance to restaurant and nightlife in Karon. The beach is quiet and relaxing.

Die Lage ist nicht zu toppen . Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück, um 16:00 Uhr gratis Kuchen und Früchte. Täglicher Zimmerservice mit frischen Handtücher, alles sehr sauber. Das Hotel ist wohl etwas älter, jedoch funktioniert alles bestens. Wir würden wieder kommen. Die Gastgeber machen einen wirklich tollen Job.
