A great hotel, good location

Normally i don’t rate hotels but in this case i have to say, a Very nice hotel, has a excellent location, we got sick during our trip, hotel was so kind and helpful, they changed us to a room that was better, offered us a doctor with out any charge, the breakfast was amazing, and the food from the hotel restaurant was really good.

Easy to get around in Barcelona. The staff they’re nice and friendly. Love the breakfast buffet.

The breakfast selection was very small. I ended up paying much more at this hotel than at the RIU Plaza De España which is a better Hotel, and the quality for this Hotel was terrible. I will never stay here.

Charming old building, nicely modernized, but retained its old-fashioned charm, including a funky old elevator with its cage-like enclosure. Excellent included breakfast. Staff were always willing to help. A little noisy from a nearby schoolyard, but nothing I couldn't easily live with. Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has everything you need. It’s close to major sites, transportation, shopping and dining. The property is very nice, welcoming and smells wonderful. Our room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. What makes this hotel so wonderful is the staff. Everyone in housekeeping, reception, bar, restaurant always greeted us and were so helpful and so friendly. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Barcelona.

Great location, excellent customer service, wonderful free breakfast. The top bunk in the room for four is a little short so wouldn’t be good for someone too tall.

There's a school directly behind the hotel. The buildings are attached. From the window of the room of the hotel you can see the play ground/yard of the school. In the early morning 7am or so all the kids go out to the yard to play and you could clearly hear all the yelling for several hours. Definitely no sleep and the hotel does NOT tell you anything about it.

Got a room in the first floor, very noisy, no sound proofing, heater broke down, so no hot water for almost 15-18 hours, mold in the bathroom floors.

Central location with bunk bed for kids.

A good location, not too far from Casa Battlo or Park Guell or Sagrada Familia or the Gothic Quarter/beach. Walked most places, but also easy to get a cab and easy to take the subway. Room was similar to the size of a standard American hotel room not too tiny. King size bed for the Parents and a bunkbed for the kids so less complaints about kicking! The top bunk is not for really little ones as there is not a railing across the top like there is in the US. There was only the height of the ladder itself as a barrier. Beds were comfortable, however, and the air conditioning worked well and the hotel was well appointed. Lost use of the hot water on the last night and they gave us a discount without asking. The included breakfast was a very nice selection of hot and cold foods.

Disappointing for a 4* Hotel

Somewhat disappointing for a 4* hotel. Rooms, bathrooms and decor are dated and tired and in need of refurbishment. Shower door seals and shower head leaked. Sealant was mouldy and needed replacement. Staff very attentive though and keen to please. Breakfast was busy and noisy in the echoey basement. Hotel works a lot with large tour groups. Breakfast was fair with a lot of choice. Location is extremely good and within 15-20 minutes walking distance of most key sights.

Wonderful little hotel in a great location. You can walk to most of Barcelona’s prime tourist spots. The room was nice, and the kids loved the bunk beds. Excellent breakfast buffet and very helpful staff.

This hotel is something special and we are happy for choosing to stay there during our visit in Barcelona. We had a very good experience from the moment that we checked in until we left the property. I can say only positive words for this hotel, which felt more like home. Very responsive, pleasant, and friendly staff. Rooms are perfect size and furnished just right. The location couldn't be better, walking distance from all main attractions. Very safe area and perfect for almost all type of activities.

Great hotel, best staff, convenient location!

Absolutely enjoyed my stay here at Icon BCN. It is in a great location, accessible to public transportation and nearby neighborhoods including Gothic Quarter. Rooms were great. Our first room had an issue with the heating system and the staff did everything they could to accommodate and help resolve the issue. Special thanks to the most friendly and responsible staff for making our time here extra. I highly recommend that you book with breakfast as the breakfast buffet was also amazing. Will definitely return when visiting Barcelona.

the hotel and staff was great. was not happy with the room that was provided in terms of the location within the hotel and the layout of the room, but other than that, the hotel breakfast, location, and staff was wonderful.

A Great Hotel in Downtown Barcelona

The Icon BCN hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Barcelona, and we would recommend it highly for anyone looking for a classy, well run hotel in the center of the city. Pros: — perfect location, a few meters from a main thoroughfare but just distant enough to be more quiet — many central sites (e.g., Casa Battlo, the Cathedral of Barcelona, Las Ramblas) are within walking distance — friendly, helpful staff — charming mix of old and new architecture — abundant breakfast and good on-site restaurant — well lit rooms with interesting touches Cons — of the two USB charging ports in our room, one did not work at all, while the second just trickled electricity into our devices (e.g., leaving a cell phone plugged in overnight would only provide a charge of ca. 20-30 percent) — the shower is fine, but after taking a shower, the water would have leaked onto the bathroom floor All in all, a great place to stay in this exciting city.

A very pleasant stay at Icon BCN. Ample space in the rooms, a great pool area and many areas to relax in throughout the hotel. Location is walkable distance to metro, casas and La Rambla. The highlight for us was the food and service at the breakfast buffet. The range of food was great, assortment of bread and pastries, cold meat, hot dishes, eggs and pancakes made on request, multiple coffee machines. Very enjoyable experience. Thankyou for a lovely time in Barcelona.

Charming hotel just a couple of blocks off a main shopping / dining area. Our teenage daughters had their own little space with twin bunk beds that worked out great for us. Loved the tall ceilings - spacious, lovely room!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Icon BCN. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our very spacious room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, and well equipped with minibar and coffee maker. Our room also included a little living room area with a couch to relax in. The bathroom was very spacious, and the sink was smartly designed - it had a large counter space on both sides of the sink and a large shelf below. No struggling to accommodate toiletries. The breakfast room was also spacious, and the included breakfast was very good. Mezza, the on-site restaurant and bar, was also spacious and welcoming. We had one meal there and the food was good.

Convenient location, great boutique hotel, very nice staff!

My husband, son and I had a wonderful time at the Icon BCN. This boutique hotel is beatifully decorated with inviting common areas and comfortable, clean guest rooms. We arrived several hours before check-in and the reception staff was able to accommodate us which was a huge help as we were coming off of a transatlantic flight with a jetlagged 7 year-old. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Barcelona allowing you to walk to the most popular sites. Buses and metro are also steps away. The hotel has a beautiful terrace for relaxing, dining and swimming in the small salt-water pool. A perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet and restaurant are amazing and not to be missed! The service was prompt, the food was delicious and the multilingual staff was warm and attentive. We travel quite a bit and this staff is TRULY exceptional. Thanks to Ana, Felix, Lluis, Anita and the entire staff for making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely return to Icon BCN!

Breakfast was good. Property is at convenient location in the downtown area. Room is reasonable size. Bathroom were clean but not good ventilation system .

Great Stay

ICON BCN is in a great location, on a quiet street but close to major attractions. It's very clean and breakfast choices are great. The staff are friendly and willing to assist. We had a wonderful stay.

For the price, the hotel is very, very dated and they could do well by investing to improve the quality of basic things. The carpets on each floor look like they are 30 years old with the history of past stains throughout. Our restroom was dated with wear stains in the sink and shower. The AC was on its last leg. At €100 euro a night this could be ‘decent’ value. At €400 a night it leaves much, much to be desired.

Lovely boutique hotel. Pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent location, close to historical center, Metro, shopping. Very nice breakfast. Limited but adequate dinner options. Only critique, no luggage rack/stand… but then I did not ask so perhaps it was available and just not in room. Would definitely recommend!

Icon BCN was just what we needed. Enough space for our family plus breakfast and the delightful terrace for drinks. It was a wonderful home base for our stay in Barcelona!

This hotel is clean, beautiful, artsy and has tremendous character. The hotel staff is fantastic. The staff is professional, kind, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The Mezza restaurant is wonderful (as is Anna). The breakfast room is beautiful and the food and staff are absolutely the best. I highly recommend this hotel. It was truly a wonderful experience. Great hotel at a great location, steps away from many attractions and shopping areas. Breakfast was wonderful - so many options. Very friendly and helpful staff, most of whom speak perfect English. Only one small issue to note is that the windows of our room could not close properly therefore the noise from the street was a bit of annoying - it got quiet later at night tho. overall great experience.

Overall, our stay at the Icon BCN was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean every day and we liked that the room had a small balcony that overlooked the street down below. The breakfast buffet was very good and had a great variety of food items for everyone’s taste. The WiFi was great and reliable. The location was superb in that it was within walking distance to many great areas of Barcelona including the Gothic quarter as well as Las Ramblas. There were 2 different metro lines within an easy walk of the hotel that made it very convenient to visit other places of interest such as the Sagrada Familia. The only concern might be the size of the shower which may be small for a bigger person. Other than that, our stay was great and we would highly recommend the Icon to anyone traveling to Barcelona.

The room was spacious with a king bed and bunk beds. We even had a private terrace. The included breakfast was delicious with many options. The location was close to multiple public transportation options and convenient to restaurants.

Overall, the hotel met expectations with decent bedrooms and adequately sized bathrooms. However, our stay was ruined by the incredibly loud guests that were not monitored on the hall by the hotel every night. Furthermore, on the last day I was charged 24 euros for a coffee one pastry and one cup of fruit. I argued with the hotel about this, and they said I ate two full breakfasts and would be charged accordingly. This was ridiculous and ruined the ending of our trip. I would not recommend staying here due to the poor customer service and inability to be reasonable.

Repeat quality experience

I was in town as a tourist with my 19yo daughter when I stayed here in 2019 and liked it for its location, staff, price. The room was clean. The bathroom well appointed and decent size (by European standards). I really liked the extra public spaces -the pool and a lounge area with couches. It gave us a chance to escape ach other. I returned recently with my other college age daughter and it was as I remembered. The pool is small - don't expect to swim seriously but its a lovely place to relax. I would definitely return again. Staff spoke English.
