Great location fabulous breakfast clean and great shower pressure. Would absolutely recommend.
Simple but clean bedroom. Bathroom lacked ventilation and very stuffy. Breakfast was not really inspiring. The location is great and staff even better. We were made most welcome when we arrived and the night manager, Lily, was just amazing. She looked after us just like you would be looked after in a 5 star hotel. Will definitely recommend the hotel.
✌👏
It's close to everything, many food and shopping options. The room is just right for a few nights stay and mine had a microwave as well as the usual amenities. Eveything worked. The people in reception were very helpful.
Loved the location and the staff were friendly and helpful. Was very clean and I would definitely stay again for work or pleasure.
Staff were helpful, easy walk to food and shops and light rail.
good location
good location, very convenience.
Good Ibis Standard Property. Great location being in close walking distance to Train stations, dining options and shopping. Small rooms, little dusty but serviced daily and comfortable beds. Great Breakfast & happy hour daily. Advertising luggage storage, however just note is it not locked and public do have access
Wonderful hospitality and highly attentive service.
Clean rooms, friendly service.
For a budget hotel rooms where well equipped, bathroom clean and modern and a good breakfast. Good location as well
Very friendly people at venue. Great service
Location is very close to World Square, food and shopping. Functional, clean hotel.
Had a funky smell without the aircon Shower door was not aligned properly so water spilled out on the floor Bathroom door made loud creaking noises Coffee and milk wasn't replaced Annoying bright light on tv
Great location and friendly staff. I had to continually have my key recoded which was incredibly annoying.
Some of the staff are very helpful. The area is nice, downtown close to alot of things. However, in the middle of peak summer, we kept having to call the receptionist to turn down the AC. We had no control over the AC although there is a wall AC control, it is locked. And every time we left the hotel and return, we have to call each time because they kept increasing the temperature. Also the rooms are not sound proof at all! We kept hearing people walking, opening/closing their doors, going in and out of the elevator. If a neighbour in the next room cough, open the door etc. You can hear them, it is almost like there is no privacy. Aside from the location, I would not recommend to stay here
Close to public transport
Close to capitol theatre
Outstanding location and friendly staff. Great location for exploring Sydney!
The hotel is an old property with aged dark rooms. Our external window faced a wall. Drinking glasses were located on a stand next to the toilet. Could not get out fast enough.
Great location and friendly staff, everything is clean and well-maintained. However, it's not as quiet as I had hoped - the walls and windows aren't very soundproof.
Located beside a BROTHEL …
Ibis Sydney World Square is located next to a brothel … And there are several other brothels located with a 2 minute walk of the hotel.
Hotel location is within heart of CBD. Convenient to catch public transport or even walk to darling harbor area. Hotel staff is very nice. Good cleanliness. Breakfast option available Hotel staff acoomodated us with an early checkin after a long international flight. Overall a very nice stay
Good condition. Good service
It was fine as usual
Ordinary
Last minute booking meaning paid much than the room is worth. First annoyance was the insistence that prepaid bookings still require the presence of a physical credit card. An old fashion hotel that hasn’t joined the 21st century and the advent of digital wallets. The room was tiny with no mod-con’s. Paper thin walls mean you hear any movement from next door. Bathroom was tiny with a terrible shower. Only positive was the breakfast was pretty good. Think 2-star hotel and you won’t be disappointed.
Convenient
bathroom was filthy with prior night used damp and bodily stained towels hanging when I checked in. hair stuck to everything - floor, bathroom, shower. tv remote didnt work. check-in requested my payment upfront and was not until he snatched my phone off me to check my bank statment. not very appropriate.
Convenient central location , tidy and clean
👌
Poor-average stay
Not very clean, coffee terrible, breakfast average. Very noisy. Shower leaked water all over floor creating hazard.
Senior BoB
The stay was good although I don't know how to unlock the thermostat it was a bit cold at nite. The location was good lots of food and drink places around . Remember bars close Sunday's and if open not till 4pm, always check opening and closing times really diffrent. Would go back there no problem.
Recep was helpful n friendly. Room quiet.
A decent stay
Overall a good stay with really good stay. A convenient location to many locations and great amenities. The front desk staff as a whole was welcoming and friendly for most of my stay but when I asked them one question there was conflicting information provided by the two staff working at the desk which was confusing.
So handy to cbd , light rail and parklands. And our room was very quiet 😊
Bathroom is nice . But the desk is too old need to replace. The closet is too small.
very small and walls thin
.
Warm shower and relatively clean room
Super friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom was modern and clean, main room could do with a bit of an update but was clean and great for a short stay
Very welcome arrival
The hotel reception was a bit confusing as there was a bar cafe in the entrance. Staff was so friendly and it was great to get an early check in. We took advantage of in house breakfast which had a great assortment of everything you need.
Aside from the usual bar fridge and jug, the room had a microwave which was a great bonus. There is a big shopping centre opposite with a Coles supermarket. A 2minute walk to the Chinatown light rail stop, 5 minutes to Museum station. Paddys markets, Darling Harbour and Chinese Gardens all walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 5 nights.
Bathroom has no fan so no air ventilation. So it smells. Needs to install fan asap
Staff useless and rooms too loud
Very close to the centre of Sydney and amenities. Train station nearby. Easy access to conference centre next door
Close to World Square but noisy and very small rooms
I really enjoyed staying in the hotel.
Average, ok for one night
Stayed for one night only and it was ok for one night. Hotel was dated, tatty and could have been cleaner. Easy access to the city makes it convenient. Cheap and cheerful
We had a pleasant stay at Ibis World square. The three of us booked a 3 bed room and were surprised to encounter 4 bed space - a double bed and two single beds. The room did the job of us getting some sleep and using the bathroom. It was nice to see a range of utilities including iron and hairdryer, and the provision of cold water bottles and toothbrush/toothpaste sets upon asking (didn't expect that haha). The staff were also very friendly and would always greet us upon entry or exit of the main entrance. They would also happily refill our waterbottles upon asking. And of course, the hotel was conveniently located in the CBD, a short 5 minute walk to Museum station. Thanks for a great stay Ibis :)
the most friendly staff ever
The lift was being repaired ant it was unfortunately quite disruptive
We enjoyed our stay. Romm was very clean
Loved my room in this little hotel. All it needed to be. And yes one of the lifts wasn't working but only ever had to wait a couple of minutes and I stayed five days.
Location convenient
Location was very convenient to stay after cruise and before picking up a rental car to go up the Coast.
Good value for money
Outstanding. Only place I will stay in Sydney when I visit.
Only one lift working
Close to everything
Easy access
A good hotel and the price is affordrable
For a buget hotel I was impressed how comfy the bed was. Plus you had a kettle. Microwave. fridge .iron and ironing board. Plus a safe. Only annoying thing when tv was off it omitted a bright light.
Friendly staff, clean room and easy to get to various transportations, but little bit noisy due to located in the central of the city
We never ended up staying here. We were booked through this hotel through a travel agency for a trip. It was on our final travel documents so we booked an extra night to have because our flight came in early. Last minute, the travel agency changed our hotel to a different hotel. We begged for this hotel to refund our extra night that we paid for since it was no longer needed. They did not offer us a refund. Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service.
The Ibis staff were all very friendly. Hotel was very good, even though they had a lift upgrade happening. Morning breakfast had good range of foods. Bed and room was good, bathroom was a bit tight, but worked. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.
Great location with affordable price. Excellent service from house keeping who left our room clean every day and with clean towels 😃
Room was adequate but not nearly as spacious as pics would lead you to believe. Would have liked to have known in advance that the lift repairs would be such an inconvenience. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful at all times.
Clean and comfortable, staff were amazing.
Tte room was ok butV did not work. The room was ready when I got there so it was very helpful.
Only one lift was working, so people had to wait several minutes at certain times of the day. Otherwise everything else was fantastic.
We had a wonderful stay at the IBIS and was happy to see that they will come everyday to clean the room. Staff was really friendly and professional. Highly recommend for any future stay and well placed in the city.
Whilst part of the Ibis chain, you'd really call this a budget option. It is slightly cheaper generally than surrounding options, so that's ok with me, but rooms are older and not as well equipped. The staff were nice and offered a free drink because one of two lifts wasn't working. The location is excellent, however, opposite World Square shopping and Thai Town dining and late-night options.
What you see on the internet is distorted from real size of room. Air conditioning is central controlled and room control pad for temperature wasnt working. Unfortunately only one lift for 17 floors.
great but noisy outside
Close to everything
Good for family and business. Near to everywhere and option of tram and train are convenient
Great location clean hotel with friendly staff
Great location next to World Square. One lift was being upgraded but didn’t make a noticeable difference. Desk in the room was interestingly lopsided but otherwise lovely clean rooms with great friendly staff. Wish I had the time to try the breakfast. Definitely next time!
The hotel is undergoing refurbishment but it didn’t bother us at all and the room was perfect and breakfast great!
The staff were quick and efficient. Despite one of the elevators being under construction, we barely needed to wait long for the elevator to come.
Clean rooms, friendly staff and great location.
Lovely staff. Great location.
Great place to stay with friendly staff and clean rooms. Short walk to Central station and downtown shopping.
The hotel is in a fantastic location close to theatres, bars, cafes and World Square. Light rail and train are very near. The property is a great price for the location. It’s the second time we’ve stayed there this year and will always book there when we go to Sydney. The front desk staff are also lovely and the housekeeping staff friendly and helpful.
Staff were friendly, happy and very willing to give us every assistance. Jaie was exceptional and check in and checkout very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for all members on the desk. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
The hotel room was very noisy. You could hear the lift all night. The room was very dark & outdated. Th3 staff were friendly.
The hotel is centrally located however you could hear the lift all night. The rooms are very dark & look outdated. The shower leaked & the bathroom door squeaked which is not very good in the middle of the night. The staff were very friendly.
Great breakfast. Easy walking distance from central station. Staff were very helpful and great with the kids.
Dark
Had parking paid for at this property for $55.77. When putting ticket into machine on laving the total was on $44.00 ??
Far to noisey in the early hours of the morning. The staff were excellent but obviously they cant control what happens around the hotel.
Good
the beds were wonderful and the staff tried hard but there was only one slow lift that didn't always work. it seemed they had only ONE accessible room (for people with a disability) on the 17th floor! seems the height of stupidity to put an accessible room on the 17th floor, if there is an emergency who is going to carry the disabled person down 17 flights of stairs? also the room was supposed to be recently updated yet i doubt it would meet code, not sufficient hand rails and where the shower chair was attached to the wall the tiles were cracked and some loose screws, so a potential safety hazzard if a heavy person sat on it. shower water pressure was low and could have been hotter. soap was place to far away from shower seat making it impossible for a seated person to reach.. not enough space for a wheelchair or scooter to completely enter the room. but the beds were wonderful
Location
Better hotel than I expected for the price. Room was clean and modern and staff friendly. Due to one of the lifts being down for maintenance, all guests received a complimentary beer or cider as an apology for the inconvenience. This was an unexpected touch. Great location within the vicinity of China Town and Thai Town, close to dining options, shopping and transport. The only negative I found was the gym was very outdated and somewhat unusable. Will stay here again during my next visit ro Sydney.
All was good. Elevators were a bit slow as one was being upgraded, but these things happen. Room staff were great.
All good except bathroom shd instal the glass panel to stop the water flowing out. Thanks.
Easily accessible, modern, great location, exactly what we needed.
Most terrible experience in my life
It may be the most terrible experience of hotel staying in my life (hopefully nothing even worse). During my checking in, the front desk gave me a room which was still occupied by others. When I opened the door, I was shocked by seeing an opened luggage and hanged towels inside the room. At the day of checking out, the only working elevator was out of service (the another one was under furnished), I had to walk down the fire stairs with my heavy luggage to the ground level.

Negative on bathroom space to get into the shower.. other than that great spot to stay…
