Great hotel for what we needed

Within walking distance to Carsaconne. Limited dining opportunity……had to pre-book and then didn’t like the limited menu that was offered

Great hotel, good basic breakfast, five mins walk to medieval city.

This Ibis Styles was very nice. Great position for the medieval city. Great friendly service, nice rooms. Breakfast was very good and the pool was a bonus. All of us (4) really enjoyed our stay. Definetly recommend.

The room was castle themed so the kids loved it. The staff were really helpful and kind.

Perfect for short visit to old town Carcassonne

Excellent hotel for visit to Carcassonne old town with a 10-15 walk into the center. The room was small but very clean as was the hotel. Staff were very friendly even with our terrible French. Car park made it even easier.

Pleasantly surprised. Just a few minute walk to the castle. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was really good with fresh juices and fruit. A nice stay overall.

Damp smell in bathroom, hair drier keeps tripping out.

Very good location, close (10min walk) to the old walled city of Carcassonne. Staff very friendly and helpful. Downside: aside from the old city, not of services (restaurants, etc) close to the hotel. Car is useful.

Great place’

Perfect hotel to visit an amazing place

Clean hotel, nice pool, reasonably priced, very welcoming and helpful staff, 5 min walk to the medieval cité and 15 min walk to the centre with shops, cafes, etc. Our room was big enough, quiet and even looked into the ramparts - spent a couple of days from our 7 night stay at the hotel and next time I go back, I will definitely stay here again. If I had to make one suggestion to the hotel, it would be to put at least one vegetarian dish on the menu. The whole area may be big meat eaters, but that doesn’t mean every visitor is. In fact, if you are veggie then you will struggle here for options generally (can recommend Le Cachotier which is probably the only restaurant in Carcassonne with a vegan menu)

Decent 3* hotel.

A decent 3* hotel with a good small pool with sunloungers. Good ample breakfast included in price. Only a 10 minute stroll to the Cite. No balcony in rooms in level 1 & 2.

Comfortable beds and accommodation. Good breakfast.

The only restaurant near was the one inside the hotel.

We absolutely loved staying here. The grounds were fabulous and my kids loved the foosball and ping pong tables. The bar was perfect for me and the staff was very helpful. They even held some foodstuffs in their fridge for us. (The rooms don't have a fridge). Walked right up to Carcassonne from the hotel in 10 mins!

Nice modern hotel, well maintained and short walk from the fortress. Excellent staff. The one issue I’d raise is that the shower area has no curtain or door. So the whole bathroom floor gets wet. That’s also slippery, people can fall. Plus it’s a wet floor all the time.

We loved the medieval theme and the gift for the children was a lovely touch. Our room was very spacious and the buffet breakfast was delicious.

Great hotel close to cité de Carcasonne

We stayed one night and really enjoyed our stay. Very practical to visit the cité - 10 minutes away by foot. The room was comfortable, great breakfast and nice pool and ping pong table. Cute medieval theme and good parking Would recommend.

Don’t stay if you are allergic to cats

Good location

Unfortunately I got a disabled room in the first floor, the shower was not very convenient with the water running all over the floor. The bathroom had a terrible pee smell, really unbearable. Very basic room with the bear minimum. Wifi is good, breakfast is good, comfy mattress and pillows. 10min walk distance to the castle. Large parking lot onsite. Friendly and efficient staff.

Great choice to visit Carcassonne

Very pleased with our choice to spend a night in this hotel. Convenient parking, friendly staff, nice pool, and good breakfast. We both slept very well in the comfortable (and giant!) bed. Our room was very quiet as well. Being able to walk to the medieval city was why we chose the place: it takes only 6-8 minutes!

The property and the reception staff were OK, but the manager “Sebastien” was nothing short of despicable. I asked the receptionist to speak with the manager to ask him a question regarding extra charges (40 Euros) for my 4yo daughter to sleep with us in the same room and he did not want to bother to come out. When I insisted in talking with him, he was extremely rude. He claimed he didn’t speak English, but he did a little. When I told him I didn’t agree to the extra charges as I had called ahead to ask precisely if there would be any and they had told me none, he said there was no record that I called and that basically was my word againt his. I told him had I known this, I would have reserved somewhere else, he said that he would cancel my reservation not even giving me an option or at least being professional or courteous. At this point, while having this conversation, my daughter and husband had just come out if the pool and noticed that our room key didn’t work, so I told him to give us new one so we can pack and leave, he REFUSED to give me the key!!! I told him I had a 4 yo kid wet and waiting outside the room without a towel he still refused. He wanted me to call Expedia first for some reason. I told him the call to Expedia being an international connection had dropped several times so I was going to try them later because my priority was my daughter. He dud not care. I ended up threatening to call the police if he didn’t open the room. He still refused!!!

Unwelcoming check-in policy

Unwelcoming hotel chain policy. Having to wait an extra hour for check-in (3pm) marred the experience. Turns out 2pm check- in is for guests who booked directly with the hotel and 3pm is for everyone else. Otherwise, staff and facilities excellent

Excellent hotel, perfectly located for access to the Old Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Superb buffet breakfast. Good bar. Lovely atmosphere. Rooms comfy, clean and with good views towards the Walled Town.

Lovely hotel, great parking, v clean & fresh, decent size room, comfortable bed & pillows & nice bathroom & a lovely looking outdoor pool & garden area for sunny warm days. Location was perfect for the old town/castle, 10 min walk and safe. Hotel was quiet too. Breakfast was lovely with many choices and fresh orange juice too. Would definitely stay again.

Great spot to stay for a Cité visit

Good parking, clean, well designed rooms and a great included breakfast. Fresh squeezed OJ! Friendly staff. Would recommend a stay here.

The hotel was fine although the restaurant was lacking atmosphere. Also the meal we had in the evening was very poor for such a hotel. The location was not as close to the city centre as we thought and there was no public transport so we had to walk.

Easy to find and really close to La Cite, so easy to walk to the walled town and into the centre of Carcassonne itself. Breakfast was average in terms of choice but staff kept pastries, meat, cheese, etc. well replenished. Reception staff very welcoming. Room comfortable and bathroom bigger than average with a full bath. What more do you need for an overnight stay ?

Really good location with easy walking access to the walled city.

The room brought a whole new meaning to Spartan. There wasn't even a shower curtain, which was annoying because after a shower the rest of the bathroom floor would be awash and you were forced to use the towels to mop up. Breakfast was limited, (cereal, bread, cheese, cold meat or a boiled egg) but not bad. The hotel was mainly quiet, no noise from other guests or road traffic. But this did mean at night the rattles and whirrs from the air con unit dominated. I have stayed in other Ibis hotels and never had an complaints but our room in this particular Ibis was minimalist to extreme.

The staff was very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable! The deodorizer they use is very strong and gave me a headache. I opened the window, aired out the room and my headache went away. The breakfast had a nice variety. The woman working the breakfast room was delightful. I would stay here again! Very convenient to the Cité de Carcassonne!

Great hotel close to the old city

We stayed one night here. Staff very helpful and spoke excellent English The old city is 15 min walk away and we had a great meal there too Breakfast was included in the price and was excellent as well. I would recommend this hotel

Good but mattresses need updating ASAP

Service and location were good. Unfortunately mattress was thin, hard and felt very old. Pillow also uncomfortable. Breakfast was very good and everyone was very helpful.

Only things I didn’t like were no wash cloths, no shower curtain and the one bed sheet/blanket. Cold without it and hot with it at night. I like two lighter coverings.

Great place, very quick check-in. Amazing view of the castle from our room. Comfortable androom an room. Breakfast was good, alot of different things for everyone.

Great Hotel

A clean, modern hotel within walking distance of Castle so you could stay and enjoy evening dinners within the walls. Hotel restaurant meals and breakfast very nice, staff friendly. Would stay here again and good value for money.

Classic ibis

Hotel in a good spot. It was clean, the pool was nice and the staff were friendly. Only niggle was folding beds for the kids were creaky and uncomfortable, and when they were unfolded there was no floor space left in the room. Otherwise good value for the price and fine for our needs.

Modern and clean but small room

Comfortable bed, good location and friendly staff. The room was small with an unusual layout, but our stay was perfectly fine and we would consider using again. WiFi was poor and often disappeared.

Great location for Carcassonne medieval city.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Just a short walk to Carcassonne l'city. Hotel was nice, good pool, nice breakfast and a decent room. My children were given small gifts on arrival which was a nice touch. Wish there had been tea making facilities in the room though.

Comfortable, clean hotel, ideal for families

Traveled as a family with two teen boys. June 2018, Enjoyed the pool and fun atmosphere of the hotel. My wife enjoyed a meal in the hotel....food was far better than might be expected in a casual hotel

Enjoyable stay

Lovely hotel within a 5-10 minute walk to the medieval city. Rooms modern and clean. Not sure about the walk in shower as it floods the bathroom. Staff were friendly - at check in we were recommended a restaurant in the old city for dinner which made sense when we saw the same person working there later! Bar service was fine and breakfast adequate. Parking on site. Would stay there again.

Nice basic Hotel.

Hotel in walking distance to old city. Breakfast was good. Rooms OK but basic.Swimming pool looks good but too cold to try it.Overall a pleasant hotel with chic style.

The parking was good, staff friendly & an easy walk to the old City. However, it is geared towards families & we are an older couple. We thought the decor was silly. We were assigned a wheelchair (I don't know why we weren't asked at check-in if this was OK) room & there were no chairs.

Great Staff and location

Great budget hotel, close location to La Cite de Carcassonne. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would have liked a fridge and tea/coffee facilities in room, but it was a budget hotel, so no big deal. The breakfast was good and included in price. I would recommend.

Close to the castle, but have dinner elsewhere.

Breakfast was lovely. Liked boil your own eggs. Dinner was awful ( dry chicken, split sauce and overcooked lamb) and only one waiter on and suspect only one person in kitchen, as service was very slow. Small menu, so it should have been easy to get right. When we complained waiter just shrugged. Rooms were clean, if basic. Bit tight for space. Way too warm at night, as air con would not go below 17 degrees centegrade. So poor sleep, despite comfortable bed. Pool was not open either and pool area was under maintenance. That was disappointing. The location was good. Close to the castle.

Everything is as one might expect of such a well-priced hotel in that everything is functional and clean (minimalist in the modern sense). While my overall impression is very good (staff especially), I'm not sure that my comments will be of much use as the hotel clearly was busy during my time, which resulted in me being given a room for a handicapped user; it was OK but clearly not particularly appropriate for me. I was given a chair when I asked for one but it appeared to me that little thought had gone into placing a non-handicapped person in such a room. Therefore, I am unable accurately to comment upon the room facilities. I do wonder about the three-star rating that the hotel possesses. My room was as basic as I have seen anywhere (no kettle or drinks facility of any kind, for example, as well as no chair, as mentioned above) and it just 'feels' like a two-star hotel. Now, there's nothing wrong with that as such, because it feels like a pretty outstanding two-star place. The staff are great in every sense, doing whatever they can to help. For me, ultimately, that's the biggest key and the welcome (together with the general service) was warm and sincere.

Pretty good standard hotel near La Cite.

I had a good stay here. It's under a 10 min. walk to the La Cite. So that was great. The facility is nice for a reasonable budget. The Good: My room was nice and clean. Breakfast was great! Friendly staff. Good location, shady (in the good, block the sun, way) parking. Sort of annoying: My bed was pretty hard, but the pillows were good. The lighting in the bathroom at the mirror was not bright enough. Minimal room furnishings mean a lack of counter top space. It was OK for the price point. No safe in my room, although desk clerk said there should be. Biggest complaint: The sign marking them is pretty much impossible to see until you should already be turning when you're driving up on the main road.

Good Value Close to the Cite

Hotel is very comfortable and within 300 meters of the Cite itself. The staff were multi lingual and very helpful. Definitely will stay there again when I go back to Carcasonne.

No water in room as advertised

Great theme, loved the fun bedside tables, very friendly receptionist, and they coped well with an extremely busy breakfast service

Fine except for a permanently smelly bathroom.

I had room 134 overlooking the pool. I think the drains were filling the room with sewage smells, though covering them up didn't help. I wouldn't stay here again for that one reason. Other than that the hotel is fine with good parking and proximity to the citadel. There was no minibar or coffee/tea in the room.

Good quiet hotel close to the Citadel

Good hotel, 5min walk to the citadel and 20mins to the city. The pool isn't heated! But serves a good basic breakfast and the rooms are comfortable

Lovely weekend stay

Apart from the fact that we hadn't known that the hotel was in fact the Ibis Styles hotel we passed several times whilst looking out for signs for Les Oliviers, we had a fantastic stay. It is a clean ,friendly and informal hotel and we were perfectly satisfied. It is an ideal choice of hotel for a weekend visit.

Nice hotel with friendly staff.

We were surprised by the hotel it was a lot better than we were expecting and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size as big or bigger than many 4 star hotels I've stayed in. Please be aware that the name of the hotel has changed to Ibis - La Cite, we struggled to find it after getting dropped off as we were looking for the old name.

Convenient for the walled city

The hotel will be fine once the renovations are complete (anticipated end March 2017) the fire detection system recommissioned - currently breakfast is not a relaxing experience with workmen constructing in an adjacent room. We also understand that the hotel will be part of the Ibis chain in future

great location

very nice location, only a few blocks walk to see the amazing carcasonne. big parking lot makes it easy for rental car parking, pharmacy was right around the corner. nice breakfast included with croissants, breads, meats and cheeses, yogurt, cereal, juice, fruit, coffee. also in house restaurant

Comfortable hotel convenient for old town .

Easy to find with plenty of on site parking . Clean room with comfortable bed and decent continental breakfast. Very convenient for the old town, 10 mins walk, where there are plenty of restaurants.

Good facilities and excellent ccess to La Cite.

It was more than adequate for a one night stopover. A bit difficult to find but once there it a reasonable area. Nice restaurant nearby. The pool looked good but did not use it as it did not open until mid morning.
