Nice
Stay 27/28 Dec 2024
Really convenient for the centre of town. Staff are always great and breakfast was just what was needed. Pillows are poor so if you have a car I suggest you bring your own!
Location is great
Good stay and friendly staff especially the lady on the night shift on Saturday I think she was polish or some eastern European lady, even asked If I wanted sound on for football, thanks
Great location and very good service
Birmingham Christmas market trip
Great hotel in a central location with secure parking. Breakfasts was good with lots of choice. I highly recommend this hotel
The hotel is quiet and great for an overnight stay
Not worth the money!
Hotel was easy to get to. Parking was handy. Room was ok. We had a family room and our bed was ok, kids bed was awful. Our daughter slept on the floor it was that uncomfy to share a sofa bed. Noisy bed, and awful room neighbours waking us all up 4 times going in and out of the rooms after hours and knocking on doors as they didn’t have a key card! Room run down for the price we paid! Breakfast was the only decent thing really!
Clise to town centrw
Quiet hotel and friendly staff. Said it had restaurant but no evening meals only breakfast. Pillows really firm
Great location for Christmas market and city centre shops and bars etc . All easily walkable. Clean hotel and rooms, good size , comfortable bed. Room had all you need , TV, iron , hairdryer Good shower
I liked the convenience of location, the superb furniture and fittings. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, English hot breakfast, it was hot, a great variety of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, and lots more. I did not like the buzzing noise in my room which went on all night. The heating fan is very noisy and the fan in the heater could not be turned off. Only a thin duvet for the bed, need extra.
Booked for a 1 night stay to go to a concert . Very close to the utilita arena and close enough to do a bit of shopping . Breakfast the next day so was nice also
All good, very easy and good location
Not easy to find when your Google maps stops talking to you. The hotel was good a little tired but very clean. Only one lift working that caused a bit of a problem as the hotel seemed pretty full. Good breakfast worth having
Ok for location
We were allocated a special assistance room which was a good size but bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Room was also quite musty smelling and had big issue with condensation. Reception was efficient for check in but bar service was slow and had limited choice.
Nice and clean. Staff courteous and friendly. Parking at the hotel.
Hotel, location and breakfast in the morning was all lovely! Can’t fault where the hotel was , a great location for the city! However the staff in the place are laughable. So unprofessional, we arrived Saturday afternoon and the two staff members on reception did rock paper scissors to decide which one was going to serve us at the bar. This was while we waited for our room to be available, only @ 3 o’clock we could check in . So they had one big queue of people wanting to check in at the same time . Apart from all that. A good hotel. But wouldn’t return purely for the staff. Shame!
Love this hotel, staff are always polite the place is always clean, great comfortable beds and powerful showers! Perfect!
Great nights rest.
Lovely stay. Room suitable. Breakfast ample. Friendly staff.
It was ok
Dont use the sofa beds!!!
The sofa bed was awful. You rather not offer that to anyone to sleep on. You could feel the springs on your body. I think I'd get a better night sleep on the local park bench. The room temperature is way to hot. It was impossible to manage and keep down. The whole room was sweating. Awful room experience. The breakfast was decent and the staff were nice.
Good experience
Lovely staff, nice breakfast. Room was a bit stuffy. Only one lift was in operation.
The hotel was clean and modern. Gabriel was very helpful at checkin.
The staff was amazing! Helpful and courteous. Lots of facilities like vending machine, ice and the children’s favourite hot beverage maker! The room was clean, well stocked and comfortable.
Location, easy walk in city for shopping and Utlita Arena. Staff were amazing. Thankfully we turned up early and got a space in the car park. Check in was efficient but there was a long queue, out the main doors when i joined it, took about 20 minutes. Checking in online still meant you had to queue to get your room key.
10 min from venue.
Stayed at this hotel a couple times now as it is only a 10 minute or so walk to the Utilita Arena and a 15 minute walk from the Bullring shopping centre so very handy. The staff are always helpful and polite and the hotel is clean. Handy underground car park for hotel guests but at the cost of £15.00 a night I do think it is a bit steep should be free really but at least your car is safe. We don't have breakfast there as didn't really enjoy that the last time we stayed so we ate breakfast in 1 of the places in the Bullring but Brindly place also have lots of places you can have breakfast aswell.
Great for Mia and city centre
Clean hotel. Good location and staff.
Nice clean hotel. Good location, helpful staff. Medium score due to expensive price for a mid week stay £15 for parking , breakfast could be better.
liked the set up
Good Value For Money
Convenient for arena. Clean and warm. Underground parking is useful, even though there is a charge you know your car is safe. Will use again when in Birmingham
Liked everything about yhe property and location
Great stay, breakfast could improve
Excellent stay. Friendly staff. Secure parking . The only downside is that breakfast could have been better. There was only bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, beans and hash browns. I don't like to eat much meat but there wasn't any vegetarian sausages. The bacon was over cooked and hard, the hash browns had been sat out for a while with the lead down in steam so were soggy. They're wasnt a choice of eggs like poached or fried and there weren't any mushrooms. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and the free tea and coffee in reception was a nice touch. Bed was huge in 6th floor and very comfortable.
No restaurant only breakfast of which times we were wrongly informed and so missed breakfast being told the weekend times! Bar was open late but had no draft beer just expensive small bottles costing nearly £6! Snacks machine only taking cash in this so called cashless society!
The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. One thing I would have liked a choice of herbal tea.
The cleaners ruined our stay
The receptionist wasnt very friendly. The room was, lovely, clean and spacious. However, we were so annoyed with the cleaners. They knocked our door a 9am, while we were still asleep iin bed and again at 11am, while we were getting ready. Bearing in mind checkout time was 12, we shouldnt have been disturbed.
Ideal location for the Utilita Arena which was a 15 minute walk to and from by the canal. Tired in places but generally a tidy hotel which suited our needs. Bed was super comfortable. No restaurant, just breakfast which is serviced just to one side of the reception offering basic hot breakfast with the usual fruit, yogurt and limited meats and cheese and Croissants for the continental bit. Overall perfect location for the Arena and city center which again is less than 10 minute walk from the hotel with the added bonus of it's own secure car-park chargeable at £15 daily Will use again next time in Birmingham
Really comfy beds, great shower. Could have done with an electric socket by the mirror. Particularly liked the hot drinks machine in the foyer and the on-site parking.
Lovely stay.
Great stay. Great location. Everything walkable and street parking good. Would also recommend overnight parking adjacent to the hotel which gives you until midnight the day of checkout. The team were really friendly and professional. Shower exceptional and bed very comfortable. Would look to stay again.
Very central. Excellent value with very friendly front desk staff. Quiet.
No complaints but it would have been great to be able to open a window! Air conditioning very efficient but too noisy for sleeping. Otherwise, very satisfactory thanks and staff very helpful and friendly. Car park was a godsend. Traffic and weather dreadful but not your fault!
Nice helpful staff very good breakfast
Really Impressed
Great service at check in and complimentary use of the hot drinks machine in the lobby was a great touch having come in from the rain! Room was spacious, clean and tidy. Breakfast was filling with a good range of choices. Excellent value all round.
Myself and my autistic daughter stopped for a night here. The staff are super kind, gentle spoken and super helpful. It was so relaxing, the room was lovely and clean. It's a very short walk to be amongst the shops and about 10 mins walk from the utilita stadium. I would definitely choose this hotel if you are wanting to visit Birmingham. Thankyou so much Ibis and staff for our stay.
Quick check in, clean comfortable rooms, handy for train station and Utilita Arena
Attended Utilities Arena recently for a concert. The hotel is within walking distance of the Arena and also suberb lication for restaurants. Staff very courteous at all times
Great staff, always so helpful, great sleep in a massive bed.....will certainly book agagm
Hotel was nice and clean, room was great and the shower was amazing, beds very comfy, room had aircon/heating you controlled yourself, staff friendly and helpful, complimentary hot drinks in reception was great coming back from the arena and the hot choc was really good. Also tea/coffee in room but hot choc spot on. Ideal walking distance to Arena, restaurants and shopping quarter. Streets around hotel are empty at night being in the offices/business quarter very quiet but not untoward. Did not purchase breakfast due to other plans so cannot comment.
I will not go their again.
Clean, comfy and quiet with friendly staff. 10 minute walk from Symphony Hall. Didn’t have breakfast
Wouldn’t rush back
Visited Birmingham for one night with my two children. The hotel served its purpose for what we needed but I wouldn’t rush back. Pros: Location - convenient for where i needed, short walk to Legoland/sea life, and 10 mins to the shopping area. Price - I paid £68 for the 3 of us including breakfast, and £15 for secure parking. Breakfast was included and had a reasonable selection Free tea and coffee throughout your stay as well as ice Cons: Sofa bed was awful, even my 7 year old said it was the worst bed she had slept in Duvets were so thin, I sent a message to the WhatsApp number they give you in the room to contact reception and had zero response (I couldn’t go down myself as my kids were in bed) AC made a hideous noise every hour, kept waking me up, didn’t realise what it was until I mentioned it at checkout, apparently they are getting ‘maintenance to see to it’, also other random noises (not guests) Staff were sat playing on their mobiles at the reception desk Breakfast was okay, good selection but not particularly tasty Parking not signposted at the front of the hotel, I found it by accident Hotel seems tired and not what i expected from an ibis styles hotel, I suspect (and hope) it’s waiting for a refurb.
Basic but perfectly adequate.
Basic but perfectly adequate hotel, well situated. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were comfy and clean though a little hot - although there was air con it would have been nice to be able to open the window just a crack to get some fresh air in. There was a reasonable selection at breakfast and complimentary water, ice and hot drinks available in the lobby. Parking was an additional £15 per night.
Highly recommend
Very nice hotel, value for money, close to city center
Great easy check in, clean comfortable room and nice touches with free coffee machine, water, newspaper etc. Great stay at a reasonable price.
Perfect for 1 night between flights.
Overall a very pleasant stay.
Hotel location was ideal for our trip, close to train station (10-15 min walking) and close to the places we wished to visit. Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and with all required facilities for an overnight stay. Only one issue, our stay was on quite a hot night and unfortunately we could not get the air conditioning to work, so sadly unable to have a good nights sleep, though a nice breakfast made up for it in the morning.
Great location, lovely hotel
Lovely hotel. Had a family room with sofa bed. Sofa bed wasn't very comfy but the bed was. It was clean, friendly staff and nice breakfast. Only downside was the Aircon which they had fitted a week ago was not working and we particularly looked for a hotel with Aircon. The staff were apologetic and gave us a fan. But no Aircon for 2 nights on the hottest days of the year. Location was great, on site parking and 10 mins walk to get to the central strip of shops / restaurants.
Lovely hotel in a good location we would stay here again
3 days for cricket with friends. Good, comfy room, very clean, very efficient friendly staff.
Really great stay! Check in/out was easy. Lots of great restaurants bars and grand central/bull ring/train station not far away. Room was very clean and cozy. Hot shower was perfect after long travel day.
The actual property is quite decent in a good location. However the A/C in the room is unbearable. It simply does not work and was basically blowing either lukewarm or hot air (when it was set to cold). The window cannot be opened as well and as such, it was an exhausting and tiring stay.
It was stylish snd comfortable
Good. Clean room. Nice staff. Very convenient location. Booked through Hotels as I wasn’t able to book through Accor! One small thing - there a free tiny chocolate on the pillow. With us booking a double room for two people it would have been nice to have two small chocolates!
Terrible stay
The room’s air con didn’t work. It was an especially hot week. They gave me a fan but that just blew hot air around. Didn’t offer to change rooms. The room itself smelt of mould and humidity. Would never stay there again
Welcoming Brum drum.
Very helpful reception staff. Very accommodating parking T&Cs. Great shower! Ideal location for exploringthe city..
Will stop there again very happy
Absolutely perfect thank you 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Easy to get to from the New Street station, nice welcome with polite and efficient staff. Room was more than adequate, clean and comfortable with good size television and nice power shower. Breakfast very good
Pleasant but slightly uncomfortable
Overall stay was excellent room was freezing cold as heater didn’t work.
Friendly and helpful check in, spacious room with enormous bed and very clean. Perfectly located for our needs. Would recommend.
Preferred hotel in Birmingham.
Another stay at what is my preferred hotel in central Birmingham. Always try to stay here, and never been disappointed when staying here.
Great location for Utilita arena
Chosen for it's location, more than adequate for our needs, clean , friendly staff, smallish room however the breakfast was not so good, poor choice, luke warm at best. Great pub next door was a bonus
Excellent room size, friendly staff, complementary teas and coffees
Very quiet in the rooms, very comfortable beds. Loved that you got free hot drinks & very nice breakfast which we paid £9 each for all you can eat, would have been any cheaper elsewhere.
For a budget hotel it is great. Clean comfy bed, decent breakfast, free hot drinks all day, walkable from train station and Utilita arena.
Lovely staff and hotel. Would be good to provide parking info prior to arrival, I wasn't aware there was an underground car park.

Nice hotel, location is very good
Parking available on the street, was convenient and relatively cheap. Other option was to pay for the hotel prking at £15 for 24 hours.
Loved this hotel. We spent just one night here but will definitely return. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was complementary and plentiful. Tea/Coffee free 24/7. Reasonable price. Close to city and to Broad Street Theatres and event halls. Great pub next door and near to other restaurants and bars.
Used this hotel. For the convenience to the Nia . Great place
Did not sleep well due to broken vent on window and constant noise from being near the road! Dont use the vending machine item did not come out and said nothing they can do
Ideal hotel for city centre
Excellent place to stay as we were going to utilita arena and it’s within easy walking distance.we had clean room and had everything we needed for overnight stay.Check in was efficient and breakfast was very good
Good place fr an overnight stay
Nice big comfortable bed. Reception were very friendly and attentive. Well situated in the centre of town.
Good stay
Bedroom spacious and clean. Staff very friendly and professional. Comfy bed. Breakfast ok, but hash browns soggy, bacon either crispy or chewy.
Excellent place to stay.
Room was very comfortable and staff very friendly and obliging. Hotel is convenient to city centre and overall a great place to stay in Birmingham.
There wasn't anything outstanding. Travel lodge style, just with a small bar no comfortable seating ie sofas to relax and have a drink no evening meal although you could probably dine out quite close by but lots of night clubs bars so not really our type of accomdation but ok for the money.
Excellent stay !
Reception staff excellent and very welcoming. Overall an excellent stay in good location and reasonable price.
Ideal place to stay for the Utility stadium. Rooms comfortable. Breakfast good. Good communication from staff. Would definitely recommend
Really handy for centre of city yet remarkably quiet road. Very nice rooms with propoer blackout curtain, comfortable bed, nice pillows, superb shower, tea and coffee. All you need really!
Wonderful staff. Lovely quiet stay. So convenient for the Utilita. Thank you
Lovey hotel. Great that they offer a hot drinks machine in the reception at all times, a nice touch.
Great find!
Fantastic hotel, check in/out easy, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast had good/plenty of choices, onsite parking under the hotel, only £15 per night. Bar a little overpriced but you are in a city! Free tea, coffee, hot chocolate 24/7 in reception. Tea/coffee in your room. Free wifi. 15min walk from Utilita arena. Would definitely recommend 100%!
Great for short break!
Nice hotel + staff, and situated in a good location of Birmingham
Brilliant place to stay when visiting the Utility Arena. Staff very friendly and helpful.
All good. Excellent value for money. Very central, great breakfast
Average hotel, nice staff and good location
Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to city centre. Breakfast good. Amenities very good. Lovely hotel.
Sofabed mattresses - a real let down
Once we entered the room, we realised the sofa bed was really a frame of springs with hardly any cushioning. You could actually see the springs outline on the sofabed mattress. We pay to get a good night sleep and ibis hotels has got this fundamental amenity wrong. We asked for other rooms with a thicker cushioning on the sofabed and staff said all their rooms have same sofabed mattress. He offered us 2 joined up rooms so our family of 4 could both have better mattresses but offered it for extra price. Staff offered to get extra duvets to put on sofabed to make it comfy too. Staff were polite and well mannered. We cancelled anyway because we luckily found a room in premier inn (non flexi) for nearly half the price that we had paid ibis(flexi).
