The room its self looked ok but there was an awful smell of mould and damp. My pillows had mould on them and when I unpacked all my clothes with in 2 days my clothes smelt terrible of an awful mould smell. The room was constantly damp even with the air con on. The food was standard but the fruit was warm and slushy. I believe this made my daughter quite poorly for 2 days. The beach was on accessible. It was full of rubbish and very dirty.
I extended my stay as I was enjoying the experience. Not overly busy as still in the low season (early December) so nice & quiet around the pool area. Allocated a standard room with pool & sea view 3rd floor which was a bonus. No noise from other rooms. Clean rooms & a great shower! The Ibis has a small but well equipped gym & not overly busy. I paid for the breakfast once - a decent buffet (250 baht) with a chef who cooks your eggs to your request but I liked the walk to the independent restaurants & coffee shops more. Location is on the north Bo Phut beach - the last in a long chain that take you east towards Fisherman’s Village. Hotel is a short bus drive from north port (150 baht if coming in from other islands) or similar distance if arriving at Samui airport. An easy 15 minute walk to Fisherman’s Village especially the night markets that are running most nights. The hotel has its own beach front & is family friendly but provides privacy & quiet areas for adults. The pool has a bar with happy hour twice daily along with a beachside massage service.
Island Paradisr
Staff were friendly and vety helpful, room was typical Ibis, functional and clean. Swimming pool, bar and restaurant area were excellent and backed onto a beautiful beach.
Amazing place
Best hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time! I can’t believe how good value this place is. Our room was clean and had decent space with a balcony. The pool area was lovely and had steps down to the beach which was perfect. Honestly wish we could have stayed longer than just three nights but when we come back to Samui we’ll definitely be staying here again.
Great value for money, surprised by the overall accommodation when travelling from Europe and the value for money. Recommend.
Rooms were fine, the area around the pool beach was excellent
Well equipped and well designed three star hotel. Good value for money. Nice beach front pool and pool bar/restaurant area, with direct easy access to beach and cordoned off safe area for swimming in sea. Breakfast good apart from the stale cornflakes (with no other cereal option). Too many families with loud screaming young children - but hotel seems made for this.
Would definitely stay here again. Great location and reasonable price. Within 20 minute walk to Fisherman’s Village and multiple great restaurants and coffee closer by. Paddle board rental had no fin on paddle so was unusable but otherwise a very good place to stay.
This was a lovely way to end our stay in Thailand - the pool, beach, massages, and happy hours brought on the relaxation, plus the staff were able to help us get a motorbike and such for our exploring! This place had a tropical “resort”-feel for a reasonable cost, would definitely recommend 😊
Not that great a stay !
Did not supply family room no wardrobe or cupboards to place your clothes this place was only good for overnight stay not any longer living out of a suitcase not good !!! Yet an expensive hotel for Thailand
A bit far too walk to other arears, need motorbike,
Old and run down. Friendly staff
A hotel below all criticism, not even 3 stars, Very outdated and small rooms, A horribly noisy air conditioner, There is no elevator for guests, you have to go to the hotel's service elevator
Beachfront access and 4 different pools on the property. 3 for children, 1 adult only. Nice venue and pleasant staff.
Really great hotel. Enjoyed that we could walk right onto the beach, and the pool area was awesome as well. Food at the restaurant was also very good. Would definitely recommend a stay here
Excellent staff and service. I highly recommend this property. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.
Was ok for a short stay. Rooms were small and service very slow. Food and drinks over priced. We quickly found this all out and planned to eat off-site for meals apart from breakfast which we had pre booked.
Great price, great rooms. We had the combining rooms 4202 and it was nice and clean. Facilities are awesome, staff are super lovely. This is our third time staying here, first time was around when they first opened and it is still as good as back then, highly recommend. Fishermans village is a distance away and about 400bht to get there. You can walk along the beach but it’s a work out as the sand is very soft. Lots to do in fisher mans village, best coconut ice cream from a cart vendor and drunken elephant was great for food.
The adjoining room for a family is a good option as it provides you with some privacy as well as another bathroom for added convenience. The rooms are a little small but very well thought out as you can put your bags and cases under the bed and out of the way. The Hotel is in a great position as it is in a very quiet location , its very convenient to a 7eleven (2min walk) around the corner but a 20min walk away from Fishermans Village. The breakfast is adequate but nothing special, it could do with more variety such as Bacon, Muffins, Hashbrowns, poached eggs, waffles and pancakes. All up our stay was very pleasant at the Ibis, but with some TLC this Hotel given its location and attentiveness of the staff could be one of the best in Bophut
Discovered a wonderful family run restaurant some 350 metres from the Ibis named "Omsin Restaurant". Tasty, authentic Thai food at very reasonable prices (infact we suggested they increase their prices).
A nice hotel for the price and right on the beach. The room is nice and quiet.
Good hotel
Staff allowed us to change room to fit accessible needs Cleaned everyday (if you want) Pool temp good and not freezing Staff poor English
Zimmer sehr veraltet. Anlage und Pool sehr schön angelegt.
Best value for money through Hotels.com
Great beach and clear and clean water. Wonderful amd clean pools, one for adults came handy. Lots of good seating (long chairs and umbrellas). Bar and service at pools. Okay reception staff (try to help). Close to Fisherman's village and cheap restaurants, massages.
Great value for money Lovely welcoming reception staff. Beautiful beach front hotel close to Fisherman's village. Recommend to anyone x
Room was mouldy and bed felt really damp. We asked to move but all the rooms was the same. Other than that was ok.
Okay
Location was good, rooms were very small, pretty expensive. They had some problem with the water system, water quality was bad.
One night was enough
Rooms smelled musky and had not been cleaned properly. Would struggle to fit two people on the balcony. Overpriced for what it is. Stayed in nicer for a better price. Staff were friendly but it’s the only thing good going for this hotel. The hotel could do with a refurbish / refresh. Location is ok. About a 20 min walk to fisherman’s village.
Value for money
Great mid range hotel close to fisherman's village. Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Pool area kept very tidy and well maintained. Would recommend to anybody wanting to stay in the area.
My wife needed a table to work on computer and drink a coffee. That was only reason she was dissapointed about a room.
Massage outside looking at the beach, cabana style bar with swimming pools surrounding. This hotel restaurant has a decent variety on its menu.
Convenient and reasonable.
Rooms are on the small side and the breakfast was a sparse layout. Not the best !! Having said that, the booking was pretty cheap. Pools and water, great for kids.
Had a great time at ibis , Will definitely stay again
Good 3* hotel at a very good location. Room was basic but all we needed for a 3-night-stay. It was clean (cleaned every day) but a but small for us (with 1.5 y old baby). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The laundry was great - washing machine as well as dryer were easy to be used. Breakfast was very basic, we would not book it again but rather went outside to go for breakfast. But the restaurant at the pool was nice - they had also special hours during lunch time, food and drinks were ok. We didn’t use pools but were always on the beach - beach wasn’t full at all. All in all ok stay in a 3* hotel.
The service in the pool bar and restaurant was atrocious Had to be up by 7 if you wanted to get a sun bed Pools were really dirty and brown water came out of the shower and sink Would I stay here again definitely not 😡
What a beautiful, welcoming and picturesque stay. Check in was simple, the grounds were well cared for and breathtaking and the rooms were clean and cool. We enjoyed our stay very much
We liked the hotel, especially the room and comfortable bed. All staff were nice and the cleaning ladies were excellent. The only thing missing is the elevator (for the lazy people like me 🙂) but since there is only 3 floors it's manageable 🙂
This hotel needs serious renovation during our stay we have no AC for one night and also brown water because the filter was broken. The sea/beach area was full of garbage, each hotel should clean their area because I never saw a beach that grossed. Usually I don't write reviews but I wish someone wrote something about the beach area because I will pick a different area. All Bophut coast is full of garbage
I booked the upgraded sea view room which was nice. The room was a bit small but very nice. Clean and modern with a great view. For the money it’s great value.
Very nice staff, enjoyed the location. However, we went over one week without hot water which is completely unacceptable, they offered a free drink for the trouble. I simply declined as it was an insult. Thank you.
Property location is perfect but staffs have to spend time much more in training class before serve a service and please more polite and don’t shout to your clients
The restuarant manager was very unpleasant. One day I was chillin by the pool having some beers and out of no where I get a check. I didnt ask for the check I think its because they have a buy 4 beers get one free and I was on number 3 he wanted me to pay before I got to free beer. Then the next night at dinner at 8 myself and 2 other tables get checks we where all surprised. My table wasnt done and I dont believe the other tables where done eithier. So we all pay and he turns the music off and closes the bar at 8 with 3 tables still sitting there! Extremely rude! This man is in the wrong job he knows nothing about customer service! All of the women that worked there very friendly they did an excellent job. The man running the restuarant was terrible. I will never stay here again just because of that one guy.
wonderful hotel hotel excellent good service.
Seaside Ibis with nice pools
I was staying solo for an overnight transit. The property is on the beach with 3 swimming pools facing the sea. Room is bare essential suitable to what I need. It’s 20 min walk on the beach to fisherman village. Very nice location Ibis. Staff is nice and professional.
never stayed there and expedia has not refunded my money yet
It is accessible property and located among good places such as beaches, markets, and airport. Not only it serves airports user, but boat trip as well. I rented a motorbike from pier to hotel. Lovely!
Nice pool area
Reasonably priced hotel with adequate rooms and a nice pool area next to the beach and sea.
The staff...nice comfortable beds..nice swimming pool and great beach
Really gratifying and calm place. Staff in Reception and restaurant are extremely polite. Need kids pool to be cleaner and away from smoking area.
very good !
Our stay
Spent 6 nights here . Enjoyed our stay with good staff service . The only complaint is the breakfast and would rate the breakfast 2 star at best
As a past visitor they remembered me and upgraded my room.everything was clean and serviced every day
Good 3 star hotel located next to the airport and beach. Very good poolside and direct beach access. Room small but with all the amenities needed. Room number 1305 very noisy as facing to the street, AC very noisy as well and for sleeping it is fundamental. Surroundings bad, unsafe, too much traffic.
Tidy place on the Bophut beach
Good resort with rooms on a smaller side, location and service good. Beautiful pools and 20 min walk to Fisherman village. Great breakfast and good selection of meals all very reasonably priced.
Good value for money in Samui. Boring area
Nice hotel with great amenities. Good value for money. Area is pretty dead. Only a feedinä restaurants close by, which are pretty expensive, but then again so is the whole of Samui. Pool area is great, but a weird chemical gave a little rash to some of the kids in our group and left all clothes reddish. Beach is nice, but very muddy from the bottom. Hike over to Mae Nam beach for a much better beach experience.
Budget option for families
The hotel was fine - but there are better 3 star options in the area. The pool is overrun with children. There are nowhere near enough chairs. There are no beach chairs allowed on the sand, although it is shown in all marketing materials. The breakfast was adequate.
Sunbeds over the beach are amazing! Such a nice pool too! Hotel drinks and food overpriced but everything else great. Breakfast not amazing but included in the price so can’t complain. Rooms nicely air conditioned, mini fridge and kettle and cleaned daily! Lovely stay and would recommend
We arrived back from the ferry 2 hours before check in time. Our room wasn’t ready so were waiting in reception in the heat. Within 15 minutes reception offered us a different room and upgraded us to a lovely one Overlooking the pool for our last night in Koh Samui. Thank you😀
The setting with the beach and pool complex was great with all accomodation around and attractive walk though. Staff were outstanding, friendly and helpful from reception to gardeners, restaurants and cleaning. The bathroom was needed a bit of attention to wear and tear. As well as two cups in each room to make tea and coffee, two glasses would be very useful for water drinks. Safe I. Each room great. Not within walking distance of many facilities. A very happy stay thank you and we are returning for our last night before going to the airport tomorrow. They stored one of our large bags there which was so helpful. Thank you😀
Great family of four stay at Ibis B. Samui
Our family of four with two kids aged 9 and 12 had a great stay at the Ibis Bophut Samui. The staff were friendly, courteous and provided very good service. The property was beautiful and lush, quiet and right on the beach with a large multi pool area with lots of palm trees. There were plenty of lounge chairs and opportunities to find your own area of the pool to suit you best. The buffet breakfast was great and the location a short 15 min walk on the beach to fisherman’s village. Great value and we would come back.
Bang for your buck.
Rhe ibis does everything well. It’s unlikely you’ll find more for the price. Rooms are modern and clean, location is excellent for a short stroll to Bophut, the beach is beautiful and the service is great. Can’t recommend it enough - it’s perfect.
Great location, walkable and close to stores if you need anything. Easy access to transportation, close to markets, and attractions.
Second stay in a month
This was our second stay over a 4-week period, our first visit was very enjoyable. During this visit we encountered a rude serving staff at the pool bar who later served us at dinner & as a result our family dinner was ruined. I accept that there might be isolated cases of poor service but what makes this worse was the complete lack of follow-up when I complained until I insisted on the involvement of the General Manager. Otherwise the property is nice with generally friendly staff & overall good value for money - could do with some Facilities Management though.
Lovely family holiday
We had a great time at Ibis Bohput. The hotel fullfilled all our expectations. The family room (2 connected rooms) worked well for us. Breakfast had a good selection and we did not get tired of the food even after 2 weeks there. Staff were super friendly and helpfull. Only negative point is about the pool cleanliness. Unfortunately the pool water stained our swimsuits orange.
An amazing spot to stay in Koh Samui. Beautiful, clean and hospitable. Our hotel had great pools to swim and then its own entrance to the Beach, you could walk your way down the beach to find yourself at the Fisherman's wharf and night markets. Would recommend and stay again!
Very nice hotel right on the beach Electric plugs only on one side of bed Difficult to charge up both phones on one side due to plugs being close together Staff very friendly and helpful.
Great location
Stayed in a connecting room with daughter. Hotel is very well located for fishermens village within 10 mins walk Staff were very slow to serve very expensive drinks but that was only downside pools were lovely and clean and right next to beach.
Very friendly and helpful staff, loved the swimming pools. Breakfast was great.
Great hotel,clean and comfortable.Good location.
Every thing you need for a 3 star hotel clean and tidy
Reasonable cheap place in Boput
For an Ibis, this one was pretty good... decent room, pool and bar... not what i expected for the price...
The location is great on the beach and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Close to Fisherman’s markets and a lot of good eateries. The Irish bar Jack Doyle’s right across the road sealed the deal.
On the beach but the rooms were tiny with no storage space. There wasn’t even room to sit ☹️inside or outside on the balcony which was a joke!!!! Common areas were terrible & over crowded.Room smelled so strongly of cleaning chemicals that I felt sick.We checked out after one night even though we paid for six & couldn’t get a refund. We moved to the Lanna Hotel which was fantastic & paid for another 5 nights.
Balcony overlooked a brick wall, WiFi was non existent, check in was difficult
The location and general grounds are fantastic. Unfortunately the hotel itself could be anywhere with a lack of 'Thainess' in décor and atmosphere. The staff were generally friendly but only really when asked. The rooms are small particu8lalrly for two people who are staying 6 days. some redesign on the bedroom would create more storage and generally better conditions.
When we first checked in there were a few things not in the room. When we rated the check in the items were immediately provided and the front desk called the room to make sure everything was to our liking. Staff was friendly and helpful, property was maintained beautifully. Close to other restaurants on the street as well as on the beach. Great location.
Nice beach and quiet . Would like to return again
Very clean. Beds comfortable. Half privacy curtain. Can hear people in next rooms and in hallways. Music is muted but loud until midnight. Awesome pools and beach vibes.
Rooms are very small and had a bad mildew smell as did the hotel corridors. We looked ar 3 rooms to find the least smelly. The staff did try to help and spray air freshener.
Loved the location and the breakfast buffet. Close to market and scooter rentals.
For the price it was outstanding, fabulous beach side location, clean and all the facilities you need to have an enjoyable holiday
Tiniest room ever, nowhere to put cases or unpack, nowhere to sit apart from on the bed and the ‘balcony’ was so small you can not even unstack the two chairs provided on it.
Decent stay for couple of days.
Decent hotel with a good breakfast. Wished the bathroom was bigger.
Beautiful hotel close to beach
The service was great and quick. They have a huge selection for their breakfast buffet. Pool and hotel site was very clean. Will definitely come back.
GREAT RESORT AT AN AMAZING PRICE
HAD A WONDERFUL 3 DAYS AT THE IBIS BOPHUT AND THIS WAS MY 2ND VISIT. ITS A GREAT HOTEL WITH 4 POOLS AND A PRIVATE BEACH WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR. THE BREAKFAST IS AMAZING WITH A GREAT SELECTION TO SUIT EVERYONE. WILL DEFENITELY GO BACK AGAIN SOON
27th - 29th Oct 18 IBIS Thailand
Check in was poor. Surly assistant, barely spoke. Non of warmth I have been getting in the rest of Thailand. Room was clean but overlooked another building. Highlight, was the resort poolside restaurant overlooking the beach. Had a lovely lunch, with great service from the team manning the restaurant. Must try the foot spa at Samui Relaxed Massage and Spa across the road
The staff and amenities are great, the rooms are a lot smaller than in the photos, it does need an update, but prices are good for rooms, only 15 minute walk to Fisherman village. I would definitely consider staying there again if price stays the same 😀
Family friendly hotel in good area
Spent a week at The ibis was a very good stay hotel staff very acommodating, very clean the pool area was busy and it’s a shame about the beach full of oil residues not pleasant to go into it. A good family hotel
Lovely hotel
The hotel was in a great location and provided good service. The rooms are on the small size with very little storage
We were a family of 4 - including 2 teenagers and, overall, were pleased with our stay. As a note of families with teenagers, the family room with bunk beds is intended for smaller kids-not teenagers-due to the size of the bunk beds. We went to check in, only to have the desk staff tell us that my 5’8” daughter was too tall for a bunk bed and that we would need 2 adjoining rooms. We really wanted just one room, so although the bed was a bit short, my daughter decided it would be fine. The front desk was more than helpful and accommodating for whatever room we chose, but it’s just a heads up that there was no mention of that anywhere when booking the family room. The rooms are clean and the staff are pleasant. If you’re going for the beach out front, you may be disappointed. The sand is coarse and the water was not very clean when we were there. We didn’t notice many people actually swimming in the water. The pool/pool are too small for the size of the hotel. As mentioned by previous guests, it’s near impossible to find somewhere to sit anytime after 9:00 am. due to people ‘reserving’ the pool chairs. And because the hotel definitely seems to be geared towards families, the pool is quite busy at all times with kids. We thought the breakfast buffetwas great:fruit, pastries, yogurt, a variety of breads, cereal, hot Thai dishes, coffee, juice, omelettes made to order, bacon/ham...Overall, we enjoyed our stay but the beach and pool area were disappointing.
very nice hotel for the price you pay, there are 3 pools available and beach is only few steps away... breakfast buffe is available for only 200B per person per day which is not bad. they also offer transportation to and from airport with 2 days in advance arrangement. massage services are also offer onsite starting from 300B at 9am. The hotel is near 7eleven and mini mart. Clean and definitely will come back again :)
nice hotel for the price, Clean, good staff.
Nice hotel in a great location right on the beach within walking distance of Bophut Fisherman’s Village. There was lots of choice for breakfast, and it was served throughout the morning! Although our stay was fine, we were a little disappointed with check-in - it was very busy when we arrived and although there were a lot of staff working it seemed a little disorganised. We arrived 1 hour before check-in time and were surprised when we weren’t allowed the key to our room; we were told to go and come back later (throughout the rest of our trip, checking in early had not been an issue anywhere). There was a really helpful member of staff who was trying hard to check us in quickly - when we went back for the key he remembered us and immediately sorted our room keys and carried our luggage to our room (unfortunately I didn’t get his name!) We would stay here again, purely for the location. The room was comfortable but basic.
Great Hotel !!!
AC worked great. Breakfast buffet in the morning was good (bacon, ham, saussage, omlets,...etc). Rooms are on the smaller side but not a deal breaker for us. It did take us some time to get adjusted to the bed (Welcome to Thailand!). Balcony can only fit 2 chairs and a small table. Shower was hot and pressure was excellent. Service was good from almost everyone at the hotel. The beach is very narrow, but if you can wake up early and go get some chairs at the pool but facing the beach, those are the best. There is a lot of restaurant around the hotel if you do not want to stick with the hotel food. We were there for 5 nights and didn't eat there once (besides free breakfast). Pool is nice and clean. Overall, very nice and clean resort for either family or couples. No party people there which was perfect for us since we wanted to relax. I would recommend it and would go back again.
Great for Families
For a 3 star resort, it was better than we expected! Asked for & got a top floor triple room facing the pool/ocean. Very clean, lovely staff, close enough to fishermans village to walk (if your toddler makes you carry her like mine, i suggest the Ibis shuttle or taxi!). Well priced massages by the pool. Only criticism would be the lacking amount of sunbeds. Also breakfast isn't as fresh & healthy as I'd hoped for but it did the job well enough. Special thanks "O" the driver, bar staff "Mai" & "Golf" & "Pond" in housekeeping. Room service & bar food very nice. Kingfisher restaurant over the road also a great alternative for eating. We'd go back with our daughter again..... oh & the beach is one of the nice ones (2nd time to KS)
Kou Samui excellent
Excellent holiday and location. Locals really friendly
15 days at the lbis
Good, clean hotel with pool and beach access. Friendly staff. Beach bar prices a little high compared to local bars but good value for money hotel.
Beautiful beachfront Hotel,
Stayed rooms 5211 & 5213 both room WiFi signal was weak , sea water clean, deep and calm , beautiful clean beach, walking distance to fisherman village but checked mostly all restaurants already over price !
Good choice for a family.
Good choice for people who don’t want to be in the thick of tourists, shopping, nightlife, recluse enough to walk to Fisherman’s Village. Very good breakfast. Not so keen on the other restaurant fare. Great swimming pools for family.
