Location was excellent. Walking distance to Eat Street, lake, park and CBD.
Very nice and quiet with lots of parking. Close to for shops that are open until late
Very clean and tidy property. Customer service was cordial
Very comfortable, facilities were great when you consider you cam use the attached Novotel too. The service at the lobby especially at checkin was shambolic withnone person trying to check everyone in and out, a duty manager came out to help her out and saved the day, but still had to wait for half an hour with no updates after habing to wait for the room (this was way after the checkin tome too).
Very central, handy to cafe/Bars, shops etc. Ideal for me for the 1 night, nothing flash. You get what you pay for.
Wonderful location near the Lake and Eat Street. Room was dated and a bit shabby, with some odd quirks (e.g. bathroom light turns on from hallway switch only). No operable windows. Satisfied for the price.
Our room very basic but exactly what we needed
Good location easy walk to many different restaurants. Breakfast was good also.
The room was showing signs of wear and tear but was clean and suitable for what we needed. Breakfast was filling, although eggs/bacon were cold on second day. Overall, great location suited our needs and pocket.
My room didnt have soaps, have to ask for soap, face towel and milk from the reception. My key didn't work at basement parking entrance at night. Staff were friendly. Also, I forgot my favourite pillow in the room.
Great location close to the lake and to Eat St. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay here again.
Ibis Rotorua
Check-in was very slow. We arrived 10 minutes before our scheduled check in time of 2:00 pm and had to wait an additional hour before our room was ready. There was a long line at reception until at least 6:00. Parking and laundry facilities were free and the location was good (close to lake)
Just ok for a couple nights
Solid 1 star hotel.
Ibis Rotorua was terrible. Rooms were not ready until 2.5 hours after checkin time. Room was dirty and had very stained carpet. Broken chair in room. Could not enter building from downstairs carpark after 7pm as card reader was not working, had to walk up to street level and enter through front door. I would not recommend staying here.
Arrived half an hour before check in , our room wasn’t ready so we asked for recommendations on what to do. The gentleman on the desk was really helpful and gave us 2 great recommendations. We arrived back at the hotel at 4:00pm to a large queue waiting to check in. Our room wasn’t ready , so we waited about 15 mins and were given our keys. They didn’t work so went back to reception and had to queue again . It was apparent that nobody’s keys were working and every time you left your room you had to then re queue for someone to come and let you back in. The issue was only resolved when we came back from our evening meal. We understand this was a computer issue but felt it could have been handled better and doesn’t explain why our room wasn’t ready at 4:00pm when check in was 2:00pm. On checking out , nothing was said and no apology given.
The room was small, smaller than I remember last time I was there. The two beds double beds had maybe 12" between them, and not much room to walk around them.
Bed spacing in the room was terrible . Not enough space for 2 adults1 child. Lucky we checked in late because we went straight o sleep. Buffet breakfast finished early @ 9am unable to sleep in because breakfast paid for. Positives Staff provided excellent customer service both night check in staff & morning staff. Great security.
Carpet in my room was dirty, no extras not even small travel sized items in the room.
Friendly staff. Breakfast good but could be warmer. Did always refill items when asked.
I booked 4 rooms, unable to access the 3 rooms for over three hours after check in time (travelling with babies very inconvenient) Towels in the rooms were damp. Room air conditioning was not cool enough making the rooms hot. Not much explanation given on facilities. Disappointed travellers
Good location and spec - no frills but good
Room poorly lit, no/bad toilettes, room not good, service not great. Only plus was the location
We went to check in, they said they have to clean the room and come later. Do they take money late or give discount - they didn’t . Dirty room , carpet stained and the bed and towels dirty smell. Totally horrible experience in ibis. Never recommend this hotel to anyone. Please do not waste your money going fo this hotel.
average
A good stay. Staff were very helpful.
Clean and comfy room with a great shower. Easily walkable to restaurants and shopping.
Close to lake etc . Table under window needs more support otherwise very happy
Great for the price
Well placed in the town. Just a 5/10min walk to bars and restaurants. Plenty of parking available. Room was clean and comfortable
Not worth the money
The hotel room was dirty and very small. The pillow cases had stains, the carpet had stains that could easily have been cleaned up, the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. The mirror was covered in hard water stain spots, the sink was disgusting, and the clear shower door was not clear. Our room could sleep 4 and we were given 2 towels and 1 wash cloth. No hand towels. The 2 beds in the room touched and you could not walk between them. This hotel is in a good location but would not stay here again.
Would not stay here again.
Very clean pleasant room. Great location and easy parking.
Great location, our bathroom was pretty dirty around the shower door. O resolution from the manager. Also the twin beds we slept in moved and there was no way to lock the wheels
Comfortable bed warm room. Good service for the down turn in our economy!
I will not be recommending Ibis. Not cleaned under beds, terrible night with asthma. Jug had gunk in it and had to get another rooms one. Milk was going off so had to get another. Staff did their best to rectify and compensate. Still not a pleasant experience 😕
Suited us perfectly. Conveniently located to a conference we attended Close to food, shops, parking and lake view. Affordable.
Well priced. In town. Staff were good. No milk in room. Would be good I was asked if I wanted any at check in. Comfortable stay for a couple nights.
Great place to stay just across from the waterfront and only 2 mins walk to main restaurants
Nice location however rooms were very squishy and for 1 adult and 2 kids in a room they only provided one towel and when I requested more they asked what I needed them for and then took almost 40 minutes to bring towels up
Standard Ibis hotel. Clean, reasonably new, and economical. We are a family of three for couple of days for a small trip. It does the job. Lots of stress parking and limited hotel parking, but you can pay for $15 for a secure parking nearby Nevotel. If you are after a good stay at reasonable rates, Ibis can tick the box.
Property was what we expected. But there was noise from neighbouring venue that sullied the experience a bit. But overall not too bad.
There was no explanation to wifi and if there were login details etc.
Friendly helpful staff, although, twice I asked to pay for my breakfast, when I had already paid for it, when I made the reservation, but the lady was still insistent that I paid (again) until I showed her my booking reservation.
Location is central. Many dining options around the area. All staff is very friendly.
Great location, modern, good amenities
Nn
Great location, close to lakefront and easy walking distance to many restaurants and bars.
The night waiter was incredibly helpful and the bed was comfy. Great for its price
Lovely!
Location is really good, plenty of eateries in the area. We had a room overlooking the lake which is beautiful. The hotel is not new but consider well maintained. However I think the lighting in the room is a bit too dim
Comfy bed, easy walking distance to Eat Street for dinner. Air con fan quite loud & bathroom a bit tired. Good water pressure in the shower tho!!
Clean and tidy, comfortable bed but pillows needed replacing. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Old and tired
Excellent accommodation while competing at "Run the Forest" event
Ideal location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Pleasant stay.
Not good not bad.
Lovely people and room was perfect for a 1 night business stay. Will come again.
Good location, service and value for money.
Tidy well presented property within easy walking distance of eat Street and Event Centre.
Good location and friendly staff. The facilities were pretty basic but for what we needed it was ideal. Thanks for a good stay.
Went out came back to room that wasn't cleaned no towels or coffee. And had to use my phone to watch tv
Fair stay
The staff were amazing. Helpful in one way or another. Room looks old and needing to replace all pillows as they are old and thin.
Good stay and location is very convenient to everywhere
Nice rooms, great location, close to heaps of restaurants
.
Could of had abit more coffee and sugar for the room . And hand wash . But it was a good stay i enjoyed very much
Food was very average but Staff were nice and helpful. Access to Novotel gym/pool was good. Water in bathroom kept going cold and beds roll around everywhere.
Fine, clean, but not super comfy.
The Ibis is fine if in town for a night or two for work or play. But there are always little areas that are either unloved or damaged. The staff are friendly it just lacks that extra bit of service that makes a stay stand out. Not having a smart tv that could cast to was a surprise as who actually watches terrestrial these days...... yes its fine and clean, just not somewhere to chill in the room comfortably in the evening.
Thanks for a great stay. More off street parking would be appreciated.
front desk staff and dinning area were excelent
Breakfast food was cold on both days. Real shame as the food looked good but was cold immediately after being put out. This was disappointing
Thanks for wondering service
Excellent location, you can walk close by to cafe & bar and not have to worry about driving. Carpark was always available to us. Close to all amenities. Room, beds, pilloes comfy. Only querral would be i had to go to reception and ask to top up milk, coffee for our room. Would definarrly be back.
Great place to stay close to town and eat street
Some things not working, but great service
The room had lake view and that was truly beautiful. The sun rose over the lake in the mornings. Service was great, but some things were not working. They really tried to get things right. The room did not heat, so they gave me a different room. In the new room, the chromecast did not work. They tried to fix that but did not succeed. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Great place great hotel milk for coffee was delicious the best hotel we had in all our trip in new Zeland ,Main Street just behind …
We were quite impressed with cleanliness, but the static on TV channels was very disappointing, lucky we spend more time sight seeing than watching TV. But yes, it was very annoying in the evening.
Loads of dining options just a walking distance away.. Pleasant staff.
Unhelpful
Comfortable
Room is small but I thought it was very comfortable lovely bed and everything you need my only negative comment was that there was no shampoo in the room.
Convenience to town
Clean, tidy and good location
Clea, tidy and walking distance to restaurants and some sights. Free parking. Overall a very pleasant experience
The room was small but big enough for 2 people for a short stay. A cockroach did come out of the vent one night and the spoons for coffee weren’t overly clean. Otherwise not bad
Great location, quick walk to Eat Street with lots of restaurant choices. Clean, quiet and enough space. Plenty of free parking on street and lovely view.
Very unhelpful
Location fine, but the room given to friends was the worst in the hotel. Luckily no sulfur smell like next door
Good lift service from under cover parking.
Handy and convenient to the function we attended
Nice property, plenty parking and good location
not bad, my room had blood stains/ red markings on the carpet though.
Great convenient place to stay
Nice location, can use facilities at Novotel
Not very clean
Room a little tired
Clean hotel walking distance to great restaurants on Eat Street
Bedroom was clean a modern, bathroom not so much
Great place in the heart of Rotorua
No fuss, friendly staff and comfortable bed! Walked a short distance to Eat Streat in the evening for dinner and back to hotel! Very enjoyable stay.
Ibis room is usually a tiny prison cell but not this one !! We were pleasantly shocked to see Quite a big room with 2 queen beds. Great value. Location is fantastic near Eat Street and other restaurants. Can also walk less than 3 min to the lakefront. We didn’t rent a car but were able to go on tour to Waimangu volcanic valley, booked from the tourist office which is also within walking distance. We love this hotel
Not happy with the air con noise
