Perfect hotel if you are planning to stay out and about during your time in Paris.
Average
We checked in late and was given a super far end room on the 1st floor. Service is average. Hot water and coffee have to take from the kitchen beside the reception area.
Helpful staff
Clean and good breakfast, friendly staffs and rooms are very small high priced.
Apart for being small for 3 pax the property was worth the price.
I like everything
Basic budget hotel. Rooms are good size for Paris, clean but perhaps a bit dated. Breakfast is good, but does get busy. Location is ok, market round the corner 8min walk to stations and 13 min to Bastille area ( which has good restaurants and cafes)
Excellent location and most of the staff are nice. Only thing that my room air conditioner not working. Took them a few hours to change my room. Overall it’s a good hotel
excellent
This hotel has a good location. Their staff is nice.
Good location to two metro stations, one being Gare de Lyon where we could catch trains for day trips. Close to plenty of good restaurants. Felt safe no matter what time of day we came in and out. Only complaint was that the AC wasn’t working, but the nights were cold enough that we left the windows open all night it was just fine.
Good hotel, but check on construction dates
Comfortable, updated hotel in a great location. Only hiccup was the extremely loud construction work happening on our floor at check-in. Ran back down to reception, who assured me they'd be done in 10 mins, which they were. We only stayed one night, and there was no work on Sunday, but it would have been miserable to be in one's room during the 9:00-5:00 construction hours. Suggest checking with hotel to confirm completion plans before booking. Otherwise, reception staff were friendly, rooms were bright but basic, nice garden out back, excellent cafe next door. Breakfast not included, which was disappointing. Would stay again once they finish the remodel.
Rooms with 3 bed were ok with limited space for bags. AC was not working and bathroom sink were clogged. Ok for short stay. We booked since it was walkable to gare de Lyon.
The room is tight for three persons
Although the room was small, there was plenty of storage space and shelf space. It was clean, comfortable and modern.
Great hotel, great location. Friendly staff.
Great location, easy access to public transport. Very nice staff and great food.
Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Appealing central hotel
Good location, near centre with easy connections, and underground parking. Good standard of IBIS, no complaints. Friendly helpful staff. Good nearby classic French Bistros.
Super clean. Staff friendly and helpful
Nice hotel
Very nice hotel. Near some nice restaurants. Close to a metro spot. You can get anywhere from that station.
Reasonable price, 3 blocks from Gare de Lyon train station, clean, basic (no mini fridge, no room safe), slightly far from most tourist attractions.
Okay but in our opinion not value for money
Only an overnight stop without taking breakfast. All okay, but disappointed the room was not better for the price we paid. Basic room with no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. We stayed in another hotel in a different French city afterwards which was far superior for half the price. I assume the high price is probably just due to it being in Paris. We wouldn’t want to stay there longer than one night.
Conveniently located hotel neat Gare de Lyon.
Nice convenient, clean and comfortable hotel near Gare de Lyon and close to Gare d'Austerlitz.
Love the location of property. Very convenient n 7-8 min walk to 3 different metro stops. However, I booked this knowing it listed that it had A/C since I am there late June. I asked to fix the barely working A/C on a Friday afternoon but was told that the repair man was done for the day and won’t come back til Monday. I call BS on this. This is a big chain hotel and impossible there’s no one at hand (if not for 24hrs) during the weekends. So sleeping at night was an issue since we have to keep the windows open and let the cool air and the noise from the bars downstairs in. Whomp.
We struggled to find the hotel initially but it was actually a very short distance from Gare Du Lyon. It is a basic hotel but clean, tidy and comfortable with frindly helpful staff. If I was overnighting in Paris again would I use this hotel ? Definitely.
Good
Comfy and convenient
My friend and I enjoyed a comfortable stay here. The train station is only a short walk away from the hotel and Ledru Rollin 12eme is a nice neighbourhood. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was nice and cosy, but would have been nicer if there was a twin bed option during the booking process and a water kettle in the room for coffee, tea, etc. But in hindsight, maybe it's intended that way for guests to enjoy coffee or tea at the lobby or any outside cafe.
This was a lovely property, convenient to so many things from the train station to the sights of Place De Bastille, the Marais neighborhood and Place De Vosges. The staff are very kind and attentive. We enjoyed our stay here.
Excellent hotel in lovely area.
Very convenient, also surprisingly quiet. But our double room was very small.
Our stay was short but very convenient and the staff was extremely helpful.
On a apprécié le calme et le positionnement de la chambre (au rdc près de la cour intérieure) Chambre propre Petit déjeuner simple et suffisant Personnel très sympa Un service bagagerie (payant) pratique Un bon ratio qualité prix
Never written a review before but had to for this hotel. Booked last minute and couldn’t be happier with the decision. Staff went above and beyond and were highly accommodating for our stay, they were polite, attentive, friendly and helpful. Offered reccomendations for restaurants based on our preferences and assisted us with travel directions to get around the city. The hotel is just outside of paris city centre but is surrounded by everything you would need for a fraction of the price and with less people! 10/10 reccomend and thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
The place was ok. Had basic accommodations, nothing too fancy. But it was clean and the staff was nice. It was also close to the train station. Not that many restaurants in the area. The shower was the biggest issue. The shower head just wouldn’t stay put so we had to hand hold it to shower.
One night in Paris
The staff was very nice. Check in was a breeze. This is an older hotel. It was clean. The breakfast was good. I can only go by my room but the front of the toilet was about 18” from the wall. So if you need help or grab bars there are none. This stay worked well for my needs
.
Clean rooms, good location, uncomfortable beds, unfriendly staff at reception.
Good service. Parking insidd hotel which is very practical in Paris. Good location. Nice hotel with garden.
Good cost benefit
Good cost benefit Near the bastille
Nice Hotel in a nice location
The location of this hotel is spectacular and the size of the rooms are bigger than the normal paris hotels, which is a big plus. There are lot of restaurants close to it and Gare De Lyon station is only about a 10 min walk.
Nice hotel
I have been staying in this hotel years ago and I feel like the standard has been lifted. Very nice and friendly staff. rooms were clean. The breakfast variety of choices was wild enough. Very close to gare de lyon.
I liked how I was able to extend my stay after reserving through Orbitz. Not sure why a lady told me to come extend the day of check-out, but I didn't listen and booked again in the internet to be sure there was room and get a better price. Didn't like to pay for a hot chocolate from the machine that's always there, it could be free, but its Paris.
Three days stay in Paris
The hotel was very comfortable and in a good location. Very friendly and room was very clean. In the area there are nice restaurants, which was very convenient.
Staff chaleureux… chambre très spacieuse et propre. Fenêtres bien isolées et quartier tranquille :) à 5-6 mins de la gare.
It is located near an important metro station. Breakfast is delicious.
Great location. Unfriendly staff at check-in. Room is average. Good price
Bed uncomfortable and shower blocked.
The people were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great! My room was clean and comfy. No complaints. Also nice to be so close to Gare de Lyon.
In the business part of the city, so it was nice and quite. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location near to Gare de Lyon and walkable distance to several point of interest. We didn't like kitchen staff was rude, impolite and not customer service oriented. Room cleaning team were not doing good job and toilet was poorly clean on the second day. Also towels were not replaced for a group of 3 people. Communication channel between Reception and Room Service Cleaning Team is poor and there is a lack of quality control on comments, suggestions and requests from customers. Breakfast Buffet is excellent but near and after 10:00am many different items were finished and were not replaced.
Location was good - very central and near many of the Paris sights
The breakfast was special
Clean and friendly staff. Good location to metro
Get lost on finding the hotel the first time. My GPS lead me to another Ibis Paris Gare de Lyon hotel near the train station. The staff there guided me to this hotel.
We actually didn’t get to stay at the hotel because when we arrived the gentleman at the front desk told us that our room didn’t have electricity so they were sending us to a nearby hotel, at no extra cost.
Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Excellent location. Helpful staff. English speakers at front desk. Luggage storage for a fee. Good breakfast selection
A Winner!!
Lovely hotel. Very clean, comfortable and well- situated. Excellent service from the front desk staff. We will be back again!
Close to station quiet location
Lots of noise from other rooms above.we were on first floor.would suggest high as possible. Good for one night stop.
We had a pleasant stay overall. The first day was a little rough as they were renovating the room across from ours and the workers had the doors open while using the machinery, not the best when you just got off an 8 hour flight and want to sleep. Other than that, the stay was good; we were out most of the days so we were not bothered by the noise. The location is good, 2 metro stations each within a 10 minute walk which was convenient. The breakfast buffet was worth the money, tasty and filling. The staff were pleasant and always helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
This is not a luxury hotel but very practical. With the price we paid and the location, I give it 5 star! cons you should know: no shampoo, hair conditioner, no wash towel, no electric kettle, no ceramic or glass cups
Not close to attractions, spent a lot of time commuting but area of hotel was safe and quiet
Very basic
One towel per person, clean, good location, quiet but limited one hanger for clothes one towel per person nothing else re comfort.
Good for the money
Hotel is well located for close to the Gare de Lyon. Our room was in the garden and very quiet. Staff was Friendly. Nice breakfast and cheap compare to certain hotels.
We were there the night France won the World Cup. Everyone was nice and helpful and Joyful
The hotel was clean. The appearance of the room was very contemporary. The staff was really friendly.
The only pkus point for this hotel was its location. Rooms are too too small and everything is done in a very economic way! Too cheap! -We had two colours curtains ! -The wood partition under the shower was broken and sticking out. -There is no bin in the room! ( apparantly this is ibis style!) - The little bin in the toulet had no lining! - A tube of whatever yoy call it , used as face wash + hand wash + shower Gel !! - You need to pay €20 deposit if you want a kettle and tea/coffee in yoyr room !! ( is in't this a basic facility!?) - Bedding are so cheap , ther is no mattress! Only a mattress topoer on top of a divan bed frame! and pillows are not comfortable. - Cleaners didn't change the bed sheets ! So next day I had to remove them and force them to do so! - No hand towel! If you request it, then maybe they provide another barh towel! Happy days! - Floors are not clean and don't get cleaned properly.. you can see dust and dirt around all furnitures legs. Overall so so disappointed ! Waste of money ! Kind of ruined our Paris experience! :-( Never ever again we will stay in ibis!
Perfect city location
Perfect place to stay to see Paris, close enough to walk or get the tube to everywhere.
Nice Hotel
We had a good stay here, the one thing that could be different is that we had to pay for luggage storage even though we were staying the night there, its in a good location, nice and clean room:)
Conveniently located hotel to the sights
Stayed two nights over the weekend while traveling between business meetings. Great location and convenient walking distance to all of the major sights. Small rooms compared to US, but that’s Europe in general. Good breakfast in the AM. Overall good experience
Nice Hotel, very close to Metro station
The Hotel is very nice, breakfast buffete is good, location is excellent, 5 minutes walking to Metro station, area is safe for walking even during night ( lot of restaurants on the area) you can find pharmacy and markets around there in case you need some extras, if you like to walk you can do it to Notredame (20 minutes) and Bastille (5 minutes), I recommend it.
Well connected - good location
Great base location for site seeing in Paris. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff.
Very convenient for Gard de Lyon
Perfect stop over. Good night sleep in comfortable room. The only thing was trying to get through the automatic front door,
Hotel close to Gare de Lyon, pet friendly
I was staying in one of the rooms next to the garden. Very good room, very convenient as I was travelling with my dog. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cozy room with very nice excellent
We stayed 3 nights at This hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the location was very convenlient. The only deficiency was that there was no coffee maker at the room.
Functional
Hotel is close to train stations. Rooms are small and basic but functional. All you need if you do not intend to spend much time in the room. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. But when it comes to breakfast the staff there pester you for tickets despite them collecting it off you when you first get to the breakfast room
Small and close to train station
Super small rooms. Great location by train station; that why we selected it. We simply slept here; it would be uncomfortable for much else.
Nice hotel
Great hotel close to train station and clean.
Convenient to Gare de Lyon with plenty of food and drink nearby. Recommend for business travelers.
Convenient location, terrible Customer approach
At registration, we had the "yes but" answer to every question, feeling we were not welcome, not following procedures, not doing as we should. When a "french experience" does not feel good, it feels exactly like this: you're out of place, just by showing up and you wonder what you are doing wrong. The room has so few amenities that we had the feeling they were saving on every thing. Only 2 pillows with no spares, no extra blankets, only 2 bath towels, no face cloth or hand towels, 2 plastic glasses, and shampoo attached to the wall in the shower. Minimal. At breakfast, make sure you have your ticket: you are not a client, you are some "thing" holding this ticket they are looking for - the person does not matter, the procedure does. The clerk was almost hysterical about this. Looks like a hotel that is ment to receive no-one so that they don't have to spend. An almost weird experience...
Good location, not so good room
Good location, very close to the train station and a few metro and bus station. Unfortunately the room is too simple and the extra bed is not comfortable.
Close to train station
Good, clean hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Close to train station to get to anywhere in Paris.
Almost perfect location
Location is perfect but the room is super tiny although quiet.
Breakfast
breakfast is very bad, not vary.
Not to be trusted.
I checked into the hotel with mg wife and a child and found the AC not working in room.We were then told that the AC and heater system are not working as the weather in PARIS is changing and the same is in every hotel. The room was very hot with no Air.On calling the reception a guy came to our room and opened the windows for Air.On raising security concern after opening of window, the guy said ti us that since we are on 4th floor of the hotel we shud not worry. He then left the room after pacifying us to sleep with windows open. Two nights we cudn sleep as the room was facing main road and having continous Traffic noise. If we wud close the windows we felt suffocated as there was no AC and no Fan in the room. Ibis should have told us about it at the time of check-in but it didn't.We immediately mailed expedia a written complain with pictures of room with window open and demanded a written explanation from the hotel and full refund in this matter. However we were denied refund and expedia compensated us with a 10% refund (but to our dis-satisfaction) Later we checked into Another hotel and found the other hotel AC was working and Ibis had Mis-guided us saying that all hotels in paris dont have AC at this time of the year. Hope ibis staff apologises rather than giving lame and unfit excuses to their guests. Is the top management of IBIS listening. Aakash Agarwal Mumbai.India
Good for the price
Overall, what I'd expect for what we paid. It was clean and comfortable.
Stay at Ibis Gare de Lyon
The Hotel has done intensive renovations. Rooms are very functional and clean. Had a room on the street and surprisingly, it was very quiet
aawsome location
The location of the hotel is fantastic. A 5-minute walk to Gare du Lyon and other touristic attractions. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around. Rooms are a bit small but there is no need for more space when staying short term. Staff are very cordial. Have the breakfast they offer for €10.50. It's worth it! €4.50 for kids.
This is a perfectly nice place to stay for a night or two. It's just five minutes from Gare de Lyon and just a couple of minutes from the Metro.
Convenient and clean.
We stayed one night in Paris on our way to southern France. Basic, small, clean room. Friendly staff. Convenient to Train station.
Good value for money. If staff locked room door.
Overall, what you'd expect of an IBIS. Cheap and basic. This hotel is better than the average IBIS as it is also well located. We were three and stayed for two nights. Upon arrival I noticed that our room seemed not to be lockable. I approached the cleaning personnel and they seemed also not to know what to do. When I approached the reception staff they however knew exactly what I meant as this room's door seemed to have been known to need a "trick" to lock it. So fine so good. When we returned to the hotel on the second day (after our first night) and the room has been cleaned for the first time I noticed that the door has not been locked. This was obviously very upsetting. We were lucky as nothing has been stolen. I informed the reception staff. They claimed to be sorry, but did not offer anything to compensate for the major upset (not even a free drink from the bar or so). So that was quite upsetting. Notably the hotel room was locked when we returned to the hotel on the next day. Still, it seemed to me that the reception staff needs to better train the cleaning staff as I found the unlocked room very unacceptable.
2 day family trip to Paris
Overall very happy. Room was clean, tidy, comfortable & quite. Was very noisy on the street but when closed windows can't hear anything even on the 1st floor. Air conditioning works well as outside was 34 celcius degrees. Staff friendly too. Only downside is car parking - got Vauxhall Vectra & even this car seemed to be too low when entering car park as I touched the ground when going into it quiet badly. Seems like hundreds of cars had the same problem as surface of driveway is scarred.
We recently stayed here on our recent Paris vacation. Very convenient location if you are planning to use public transport to see Paris. Hotel room was quite clean and very friendly helpful staff. The only issue was the AC in the room. In mid Aug Paris has quite warm, muggy nights, and the AC in the room was almost non existent, a ceiling fan would have been much better. Overall good hotel for budget travel.
Nice and convenient hotel
This is a nice and convenient hotel for a tourist who is tight on time and money budget. We slept 3 in a room and aside from having less space for moving around, we did not feel too crowded in the room. All our main needs were met. Also, the hotel provides timed lockers (well, paid lockers - 5 Eur daily for a large one that fits multiple bags and smaller suitcases), so the last day of our stay we crammed all our baggage into one locker and went on exploring some more. The hotel is in a very convenient location close to the Seine, in 20 min walking distance to the Notre Dame cathedral. Apart from Gare du Lyon, the closest metro stations are Bastille and Quai de la Rapee (both under 5 min walking away), giving you fast access to public transport around the city center. Just around the corner is a grocery shop / supermarket so you can get some cheap sustenance for a speedrun through the great sights of Paris. The hotel offers a free internet service, which is based on an open access WiFi - if you provide an e-mail address (no verification, this is somewhat of a standard in France) you get a session for 24 hours. What is a great plus is that even though the download speeds were not very high they were reliable and worked any time of the day (which tends to be a problem in other hotels).
Close to Notre Dame cathedral, 20 min walking,
Got secure under ground parking for €20 a day. Hotel based in nice location close to city. Room was very tiny, but clean, bed not really comfortable I'm taking about single one its just unfolded chair or something similar. AC not working the proper way...was very hot in room even we put the lowest temperature.
Long weekend in Paris
Bed was comfortable, third person single bed very uncomfortable. No English speaking TV. Shower pressure not good. Close to Gare de Lyon train station and on hop on hop off Le Tour bus route. Very helpful friendly staff.
Paris may weekend 2016
2 nights sightseeing in Paris - great location for catching metro.. Lovely title cafe opposite hotel.
Room, bed, air conditioning are meet expectations. For the front desk services the hotel may need to provide customers service training and communication skills to their stuffs. The front desk stuffs are not helpful and very rude.
Room stay
It was good S my room is located at level 1- garden area. . Quiet and comfortable
