Convenient location, cute room!

We only stayed one night, but was super convenient to be so close to the train station! Our room was cozy and cute, staff was helpful, and area was easy to find. We were able to store our luggage for the day pre check-in with no issues, very grateful for that!

All fine, next door to the train station, down the road from a tram stop. Room comfortable, clean and well maintained. Bit of a smell in the bathroom at times (not from me) but wasn't a bother; just opened a window. Didn't affect bedroom. Roadworks through the night at the moment (late Oct '24) so might need earplugs (I did) or a room away from the road. Didn't have the breakfast. I regularly use Ibis, don't have a problem with them.

Great budget hotel situated right next to the train station. Great soundproofing from the station and from other rooms in the hotel. Beds very comfortable. Aircon ok but not fantastic. Lovely pool area. Around 30 minutes to walk to the promenade but the tram system is very quick and reliable and located about 4 minutes walk from the hotel.

Comfortable stay

Comfortable stay, great location next to the train station. Couldn’t hear any noise from the station. Staff were very helpful. Didn’t use the swimming pool as we were too busy sightseeing. Would recommend for a a sightseeing holiday.

Great property for a 2 night stay. Convenient for the train station and not too far from the beach and central area.

We liked this property. It was freshly renovated and the pool area was fab. Slight downside for us was the bathroom being quite small, which seemed silly when the room was so large. Overall very tolerable and I would recommend this hotel.

A budget hotel in the centre of Nice, it’s perfect for exploring by train and walking to the promenade. The room is small and clean, the staff are absolutely charming.

A little dirty some construction happening

Building did not have laundry services even though it stated having so when booking (having a laundromat nearby does NOT count). Also AC in room did not cool and was hot most of the night. Water cooler/heater in lobby was not functional also.

Friendly, helpful staff. Very small room and bathroom. Handy location next to station and 10-15min walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Great breakfast Nice pool too.

Over night stay, definitely not a comfortable hotel, the bathroom was child sized, first time I was happy about 8:00am checkout! 👀

Good price Excellent location

The location was the best! The person who checked us in was very friendly. The reception is very dark. We chose Ibis because we wanted a hotel with a restaurant, but we were told at check in that the hotel had no restaurant. On the following day they posted menus on the elevator walls so I asked and they said that we had to order at the bar. The bathroom was extremely small. If we gain 5 more pounds we cannot use it anymore. Also, the rooms lack trash cans. There is only one in the bathroom and it is tiny. It bothered us to leave trash on the floor. We are not slobs. Another thing that would be nice is that if a hand towel was added to the bathroom. There's only two bath towels in all Ibis we've been to. We understand the chain will not change for us, but this is just our suggestions.

Great service and clean room. We really enjoyed our stay, but the hotel could do with a redec.

The one bed is really really small, the bathroom even smaller (i would say I am average asian size) - so probably not for people who are on the bigger side. It is clean though and very convenient if your plans would be to commute using the trains.

Nice overnight hotel by train station.

Ibis situated near train station which is convenient but the area around is not the safest and best. Hotel room is small, beds comfy but the the washroom was gross. There is a strong smell of perfume in the lobby and also in our room. Reception was okay and the lobby was inviting except for the smell.

Great stay

Comfortable and clean in a great location with excellent facilities. We enjoyed the pool.

It is well located to the train station but a bit of a walk to the Promenade Des Anglais. The rooms are very basic and small. The bathroom was tiny. A basic hotel with basic facilities but it was clean. We stayed for one night and were glad to move to our next hotel.

Convenient option near train station

Pros: Near the train station, shops and tram stop. Pool was small but a nice bonus. Free water appreciated and staff were professional. Room cleaned well and daily. Only downside is the small, dated, poorly designed bathroom. But overall a great stay!

Location very good, easy walk to the beach or old town and right in the centre for shops,bars etc. next to the train station but you wouldn’t know it. If arriving by Air easy to get to from airport by tram or train. Breakfast good.

Great location and value for money but says there is air conditioning but in reality it is an air fan unit that cools but does not remove heat. Very warm room made for a sleepless night.

It was close to the train station which was handy. Location was good; however, shower tank was really tight and it has curtain that always touches you. Bathrooms need an update for sure.

I stay here every year (pre covid) and travel on the train to Monte Carlo for the tennis. It’s incredibly convenient for the train station. The staff are so knowledgeable, speak several languages and couldn’t be more helpful. The hotel is very basic but with the Ibis, wherever you are in the world, you know what you’re going to get. I look forward to coming back next year.

Good Value. Desperately Needs A Renovation

I’m a fan of Ibis hotels. But I have to say that this hotel is in need of an upgrade. The upgrade should have happened years ago. But it’s in a great location next to the main train station. Good prices. Good wifi. Very friendly and helpful staff. There isn’t a safe in the room. You need to check in your valuables at reception. Good value. 2 Star.

Excellent location next to NICE Train station

GREAT location if travelling by train. 1 minute walk. 15 min walk to the beach. You need to take an escalator up to reception from the street. Our room on the 3rd floor, there is an elevator, overlooked their lovely pool. AC was great. No carpet, very small room. There might be cruise ship cabins that are bigger. Hotel has a bar and lounge area. Not great. Bartender advised us not to eat at the hotel. There is lots of food to be found nearby, even after 11pm. Uber eats delivered downstairs. It was fine for us (1 adult 1 teen), we stayed just one night. For the price, location and our duration it was fine.

Rooms are extremely smell for solo travelers. Bathroom I had to squeeze in. Sink was placed in an odd manner and toilet was difficult to sit in a very cramped area. Pool was nice and so was breakfast. Laurent who checked me in was cordial and had a nice personality. Price for hotel was a bit high considering the above mentioned issues.

Nice stay!

Excellent stay, helpfull and friendly staff. Hotel right next to the train station, neighborhood is safe. Showercabin should be looked after, seen some pink spots that indicates mild dew. Breakfast, should have some attention for people with allergies like gluten, nuts etc. Overall a very nice stay.

Price

Pros : Very close to the gare de nice but don’t have much public transport next to the hotel. Their staff are very nice and helpful. Cons : There was no rubbish bin in the room. Hotel should provide a “do not disturb” door hanger since sometime client may not want to have housekeeping. It’s a bit annoying if I was in the room and busy with work but someone disturbed me

The staff are excellent and especially the reception staff who couldn't do enough for us when we needed to rebook due to the coronavirus.

Pleasant stay

The entrance to the hotel is off putting as works are in progress. The hotel itself is in good condition though some painting was going on. This did not effect our stay. The first person we met, Luca, was very helpful. He went well beyond what could reasonably be expected to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was nice. There were three English language news stations available. The hotel is almost in the train station but this was an asset as there was no noise from the station.

Really close but room too warm

Perfect place. Really close to the train station. Room, however was too warm and the air conditioning unit barely worked.

Not good

I was expecting a water bottle in the room at least, but that was also not available. When i asked at reception, reply was : Sir we provide water bottle in the costly room only. When someone books room for 62£/N then at least water bottle can be given.

The Staff were very helpful good central place for getting around

This was a fabulous location, convenient to almost everything. Staff were helpful and the room was very clean. This was a great buy, though the room was a bit small.

Had a pleasant stay 1st September... Property and rooms very clean, although rooms are very compact.. Train station is next door although you cannot hear the trains. Only problem 1 of 3 lifts was working. Cannot fault staff very helpful and polite.. Enjoyable stay.. Thank you

Good location for day trips

Excellent location; good size room, good optional breakfast. No coffee or tea facility in the room. Avoid overpriced laundry.

Great location, breakfast was tasty with lots of choices, staff were very helpful and welcoming. Pool was great. No fridge in room which several guests i spoke to were disappointed in. Makes you have to get drinks at bar and no where to store food if you need to. Bar was pricey and cocktails were not good-bartender was learning but cocktail was very small for a large price and tasted terrible.

Staff lovely and helpful. Hotel basic reasonably priced good location and rooms cleaned so well. Sheets changed every day. I would recommend as the swimming pool was a great plus in the city. So close to train station for travel to Monaco day trip and a Cannes Day trip.

Went to hotel room late in the evening and noticed that A/C in our room was not cooling. Reported the problem to clerk the following morning and requested another room. Clerk said that hotel was completely booked and could not switch us to another room and assured us that A/C problem would be fixed. Came in very late in the evening and A/C was still not cooling (it seemed like nobody had worked on it). Bottom line, we slept two nights without A/C. First time that I have stayed in this type of IBIS hotel. I also stayed in IBIS Styles while in France and the Styles are worth the extra money. I would not stay in another IBIS hotel unless it is the Styles.

Hotel staff were all friendly and understood my attempt at french, they happily spoke English. Hotel is good if you are just sleep and out most of the day. Shower had good pressure. Only down side, only one plug socket but this is something minor.

Located right next to main station about 20 min walk from promenade anglais. Decent breakfast and bar area. Only downside is that rooms are small and en suite even smaller.

The bed was comfortable, the room and the bathroom were quite small and a bit cramped but the two windows helped. The wifi was perfect, the TV only had one english channel, but the cartoons in French were quite comical! The breakfast was very good with all the basics plus some yummy pastries. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and my room was cleaned daily. Location was very good being next to the train station and about a 20 minute walk to old Town Nice, which for me was ideal considering I walk three miles daily! The tram is available about three blocks from the hotel for guests not wanting to walk as much as me. Buss 99 to and from the airport stops just outside (from airport) the hotel and in front of the train station for return to the airport for 6 euros. All in all the hotel was a good base at a reasonable cost!

Fantastic location. Train station right next door, and walkable to the waterfront and shopping areas. Room was small, but had all that we needed. Only thing was that the room got very hot at night, even in winter, and with the heating off. Overall still a wonderful hotel.

Good location next to the train station giving easy access to nearby Cannes, Eze or Monte Carlo. Within minutes walk of the main shopping street and 15/20 mins to the promenade. Rooms a little tired and shower could be bettet though

Rooms still too hot even in December. Also noisy but on the inside. But we will come again!

Comfortable and convient

This was a short break in Nice for some late summer sun So all we wanted was something cheap, comfortable and convient location and this ticked all the boxes. Right by the train station and tram station to the Prom with plenty of shops and food outlets. Only a leisurely 15 walk to the Prom The hotel is clean has good facilities. We thought the bed was very comfortable The bathroom was small but had a powerful shower. The air conditioning had to work for it keep in the 32 degrees heat but cooled the room. The pool was a welcome break The staff were welcoming

Overall review I give Ibis Centre Gare a 3.5 star.

Nice hotel, close to the main railway station

I found some of the hotel staff, particularly the hotel manageress to be rude and unhelpful. One of the reception staff was not in any way obliging and I have made an official complaint to the Accor Group regarding this member of staff and the manageress of the hotel. This lack of customer service marred the experience.

Not the nicest area when arriving at night. Room was ok. Lobby was hot and just outside lobby doors the area had a urine odor all the time. Not pleasant at all. Friendly staff and pool was an added bonus. Would not stay here again.
