Loved everything about it, staff were lovely, service excellent, room clean and comfort. Would recommend
Convenient location for Melbourne Central and trams. Good cafes and restaurants nearby. Staff helpful
Great place to stay very close to everything I needed
Great place to stay in Melbourne. Central to all streets, shopping, eateries. The hotel was lovely & quiet no worries about noise at night. Great value for money. Would stay again
.
Room was small but that was okay since I was out mostly during the day. Conveniently located near cafes and restaurants. Strangely, the only sink for the room was located right outside the bathroom in the living area. Only negative experience was that I waiting 15 minutes for the staff member to locate my bag (left my bag at the reception after checking out so that I could explore more of the city on my last day), which caused me some stress as I had to travel to the airport.
Good location, friendly staff
I like the cleanliness and the location. I stayed at ibis in Europe. That’s why I came back for AustrAlia.
I liked where the hotel was situated. My google map was not working, but I still found the hotel on the first day. Very convenient in taking the trains and bus
Great
The location is very good, walkable distance to shopping malls and State Library. Many other nice restaurants and cafes around. Clean room, nice gym, friendly staff.
With check-in being via a computer - self service - no people... its a bit hard to provide a rating for staff and service. We had to guess that we were on Level 9... We felt if we had a problem we wouldnt know who to talk to. The only person we met was at concierge who told us to go to level 2...
Check-in is self service and reception is not staffed. Room interior is modern, adequate size and clean as can be expected from Ibis. Shopping, supermarkets and public transport all within easy walkable distance.
rooms were small but clean .Staff very friendly and helpful breakfast was excellent and bringing omelet to your table was nice touch .Also coffee out of machine was first class .The only thing i thought was quite expensive was $70 To park and $50 for breakfast on top of the $170 i had already paid for room made a one night in the city very expensive when they are asking people to come into the city as people arent coming in to town to eat and see shows etc
A tight room with an alley access.
The room was not the one shown in the picture. The room was 10 feet by 20 feet with one bed and no place to seat down. The shower was extremely small with a large " rain " shower " head. Every time you turned on the shower you got a blast of cold water. I was so tired from the 24 hour from the US to Australia that I did not complain. The staff was helpful. The hotel shared space with the Nova hotel ? We had floors 4-10 and Nova Had the Fifth floor up to floor 40 ? I did not like the hotel entrance being in the Alley. Hotel . com should do better.
It's about the location
Location is great, conveniently located in the city center. Good breakfast options at the hotel restaurant from 6.30 to a.m. Room was a bit small but it was fine for a couple of days.
The price is good, the room is alright and it's near a busy street with restaurants and shops. Just take a note that they provide toothbrush, toothpaste and razor at a cost.
Good for business but very small room
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was my first time visiting Melbourne and it didn’t disappoint. The location of the hotel was great, very central and within walking distance of lots of great bars, eateries, shops and public transport. From the minute I arrived I was greeted by concierge who helped me take my bags up to reception, the check in process was straight forward and quick which was needed after a long day of travelling. All staff I encountered were helpful, polite and great to interact with. My room was really clean and had all what I needed, if I was to give one small thing as an improvement would be just to give a little more storage space for clothes and suitcases. My room was cleaned everyday and the bed made which was lovely to come back to after a busy day at work. The breakfast was delicious, great choice across the board. All in all I would recommend staying here if you’re visiting Melbourne. I will definitely return if I’m ever back in Melbourne!
Really comfortable room, close walking distance to everything. Really enjoyed my stay
I stayed for 8 nights and had a wonderful experience. All the staff I encountered well lovely and the room was so clean. Surrounding area has tonnes of amazing food options too, walkable to every good spot in the city.
.
Very good’
Very good and easy check in and check out.
Great location and convenient
Central location Very reasonable rates
Good experience! Sometimes the room doors (for adjacent rooms) may slam that shake the entire room you're in.
I greatly enjoyed my two week stay at this hotel. The check in/out is super easy by self serve terminals. Entry is secure with card entry to front door, elevators, and room. It is only a 2 minutes walk to Melbourne Central station, where one can take the Mero train anywhere using the system. In the heart of the CBD (Central Business District) where there are many choices to eat. Some restaurants even open late. Shopping is also everywhere. Greatly recommend the cafe on the ground floor, as it will serve breakfast until 2:00 PM. This is a really good place to be, if you like to be in the middle of everything you would every need. My research is correct, i highly recommend.
Amazing
Had a great experience
Good location with plenty of food options walking distance, clean and tidy, check in easy. Cafe on ground floor was average service and food though which was disappointing. I would stay again.
Location was great
rooms are rather small. no tables at all in the room
Great easy 1 night stay in the heart of the city
It was clean and tidy and had everything in the correct places like phone chargers and wall power plugs and everything that I needed while I was there .
Clean modern hotel, helpful staff, convenient location close by transport and many dining options.
Nice bed, close to dining options.
Staff very helpful
.
Road works, hard to access by car
Very clean with perfect location
Loved the location, staff were friendly, buffet brekkie was amazing value and staff that worked there were fantastic. Housekeeping let it down a wee bit.
Overall an easy and good stay. My one gripe is that the doors to each room are incredibly loud when they are left to swing shut by themselves. This results in being woken up by several very loud slams as everyone else on your floor leaves their room.
Breakfast option is limited
Much as i wasnt keen on the self check-in. I loved staying here and would happily stay here again, based on the helpful staff and the central locat
great location
All good
Could use a chair in room...only bed or toilet as options... Could provide tissues. Otherwise very good. Shower leaked to floor...and glass shelf in shower made shower claustrophobic- could have been in corner of shower cubicle?
Room was a tad small for two people. The water leaked out of the shower onto the floor but apart from that it was great. Thankyou for having us.
Very quick and easy check in, lovely staff, clean and conveniently located room within walking distance of the best parts of the city.
Location
Amazing hotel close to everything
The buffet breakfast was excellent
It I stayed in a budget room apparently. Nothing to cook on no bathroom basin, no lounge chair to watch tv, no writing table.
Accessibility to public transport.
Excellent staff and amenities
They have their own driveway so it’s easy to get a ride to pick you up. Super handy for Melbourne area
Excellent location
Great central location
Exceeded expectations
Convenient location
Convenient location, close to almost everything - shopping malls (within 7-10 mins walk), various dining options - coffee, breakfast, dinner One point to note - the room is rather small
.
Small but cozy
Very good
Great as always
Small
.
Enjoyed our stay, quiet, minimal interruption, easy to navigate and clear instructions. Location is super convenient and the rooms are compact and comfortable.
.
Only an overnight to see a show so tiny bathroom and room not really an issue. Beautiful crisp clean hotel sheets but very weird there was no doona cover. Just a flat sheet either side of the doona. We both hate a flat sheet so when we untucked the bed to get rid of the flat sheet under the doona, was confronting to see an uncovered doona anyway could have had next to their body etc etc. Bathroom was a bit grubby. Not dirty, but grout in the shower wasn’t super clean in parts. Not much contact with staff. Simple check in etc. all very nice and friendly.
Lack of space inside room and lobby. Nowhere to sit in the room other than the bed, the bathroom sink was in bedroon leaving no counter space. No table or chair in the room. Reception is on 2nd floor and was unmanned and there was no lobby. Space is taken up by two lift shafts, one for Novotel and one for ibis which seems unnecessary.
Very well located. Plenty of dining and shopping close by. Parking expensive, suggest parking in a nearby carpark.
The only thing I could say it would have been nice to be greeted by a person at the counter on check in .
Good
The staff were veery friendly and helpful the room was quiet and convenient to everything
From the excellent staff to the facilities were fantastic
Concierge and other staff were exceptionally helpful.
Excellent staff, very friendly and happy to help with any needs
not one hundred percent happy
The mattress tended to slope to one side when I lay on it.
Very comfortable room and convenient location
Business trip
Room was not what I booked and also couch was supposed to be grey but more brown as it was so stained/dirty.
Comapct and very central
When they say a compact room they mean compact. No table or chair. Barely enough room for 1 suitcase. The shower was so small when I bent over to was my feet my head pushed the door open. Wouldn't recommend compact room if you were a couple on a longer stay. Nice and handy to restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommended adding the breakfast to your stay.
Good facilities
Conveniently located in CBD with shops and trams nearby. Service staff were professional. Room was quiet with new ammenities. I was allocated a wheelchair accessible room so it was larger than a standard room.
Overall pretty good. Nice hotel, very modern and comfortable. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Great location with Bourke street close by and lots of food options and coffee bars. Would recommend.
Excellent
Great service overall.
Close to public transport. No shampoo in bathroom
Late 11am check out is a bonus. Basic and quiet room but all that is needed considering we were out most of the time. Only issue i had was chromecast wouldnt connect and dispite the pressure, toilet took two flushes. Conditioner as well as the shampoo would be great. Will be staying again in a few months.
Close to everything Great Breakfast
Room clean but extremely small. Staff very pleasant and efficient.
This is the second time we stayed here. Loved its location, within 3-5 mins walk to the Elizabeth Street tram stop and Melbourne Central station, shopping area and plenty of restaurants. Perfect in every way.
Very enjiyable 3 night stay for business in the CBD.
Love Ibis CBD
Love this hotel. Proximity to everything. Friendly. Good breakfast. Second time I stayed here.
Customer service and clean amenities
The hotel was great. Super nice and clean. I would say that it’s not very obvious for patrons of the Ibis to know where to go. There was no one at the ground floor to direct people and I feel like if you had a language barrier, you may not know where to go. The reception is on the second floor. They have an express check in that was very convenient and easy. There are people at reception if you need them. I did have ti ask where breakfast was as again, it isn’t obvious and they have 3 floors with different restaurants. It is pretty easy to get to the hotel via transit once you figure it out. I took an express bus from the airport and then took the train. From Melbourne central, it is an easy 10min walk max. Despite it being in a small street that looks almost like an alley, I felt pretty safe at night as a solo female traveller although I would just be cautions since getting to the main road you have to pass by small alleyways but there was always people around so it didn’t bother me. I found the tram and bus situation a bit complicated, but all of that is very close to the hotel. The room was nice and small, but had a distinct smell. I got a queen compact room, but I could see how there may not be enough room for two people or if you are a tall or bigger person, the shower is very tight. The sink is located in the room so not much space and only one drawer for clothing.
Central clean everything you would ask for in a hotel
Having booked a ‘compact room’ I was very pleasantly surprised as it was excellent size for a one person stay (or two if not planning on spending lots of time in room. Comfortable, affordable and great location
Such a peaceful place to stay in the heart of the CBD. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Check-in service was beyond my expectations. Easy walk to trams, Melbourne Central and Bourke Street Mall. I would stay here again.
Well located in the heart of Melbourne, good food
Would recommend. Very friendly and quiet
