Great Service, Basic Room
Great service upon check in. Rooms are basic with no decent coffee making facilities.
The place is best for solo travelers. Room is small for shared. The bathroom is super tiny. Felt like going on a boat. Not sure why they didn't provide extra towels or hand towels. Bathroom floor kept getting wet. Our sick didn't drain properly. The lights kept flickering. TV was set to ADA which was odd. There is no phone in your room to request things. When you use the app. Its not easy. We asked for room service twice and they never came to clean. Especially because I was sick that day. No fridge or microwave either. Downstairs bar does have cups of water but no water refill stations.
Brilliant Service
Weekend trip with my family, really enjoyed it. Amazing service from checkin. Staff were really nice and friendly. And the lady at the bar was so nice too. Would highly recommend.
Shower was awful. I’m talking really bad. Bed was not very comfortable and blankets were minimal. Staff were fairly useless. Bar and pizza was not 24/7 as advertised. Place was clean and in a good location but that’s the best that can be said about it.
Nice stay
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel , it was a handy place for a wedding we attended. Reception was helpful, the room was ok, a little noisy as we were 5th floor at the front (double glazing not great) Good location for London and the breakfast included was of a good standard
Great overall stay in London
The hotel was very convent for tube station and pretty new. Some of the staff were very helpful but a couple could do with some training . The breakfast was good in the sense that there was plenty of options however the cooked breakfast could have been warmer and the toaster seems to take an age. The heating in the room was good and shower temp and pressure was excellent although could get the showers head higher up the pole. Overall a great stay for the money
Was in a great spot . Is very noisy with police going through the night with Sirens. Breakfast was good , just Bacon was very dry .
When you ask can they phone for a taxi, they phone a firm they know which fine. The company charge a small fortune and don’t know the location you are going to. Come back from the location Mansion House I got a black Hackney from the rank at nearly half the price. Staff need to be more aware of service providers that don’t complement their hotels customers service.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, very centrally located to everything…enjoyed the short walks around Shoreditch, there were tons of food options in the area, and next door to the Aldgate East station. Only negatives I had were: the TV only has local British channels, no streaming options available. Casting your windows or android device, or using a fire stick are the only options to stream on the TV. We tried to cast from our phone, but IOS was not compatible, so we were stuck watching just the local channels. There’s no AC system, the room got very warm and very quick. Fortunately, the hotel will provide a fan if requested. Lastly, there’s no phone in the room. There were a couple times we needed to call the front desk, and had to use our mobile phone. However, no one would answer the phone when selecting the receptionist prompt. Aside from these few things, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it made my first visit to London go off with ease.
The hotel was great. Very close to East Aldgate, bar opens 24/7, proximity to Spitalfields Market and other great places to drink and dine.
Rooms were quite small and the bathroom basic but it suited our needs while we were visiting London
Great staff. Very helpful.
Faltan ceniceros en la puerta. En el 24/7 del bar, podrían dejar que la cafetera pudiera estar encendida. Menú para cenar podría ser más extenso. Buena zona y bien comunicada
Very friendly staff, room was quiet.
Rooms were on the smaller side but great location and lovely staff
I would not recommend
Very poor value for money, even in central London last minute.
Cold in room. Heating only via AC.
First Timer
My first time at an Ibis and I was extremely impressed. The receptionist gave me a quiet room which you don’t expect in the middle of London. The bed was super comfortable with thick mattress topper and superb pillows.
Location was really good.
Bra men litet badrum. Hård säng. God frukost och trevlig personal
There were always long lines to get to the registration
Reception Staff were really friendly and helpful. Can’t fault stay.
Control of room temperature let it down a little
The room is very quiet. A little small, interior decoration is lacking, but the price is good. It is very close to a subway station. The area around is safe, plenty of restaurants.
Hotel was terrific. Very convenient. A bit noisy.
The staff was very friendly
A lot of street noise otherwise a very pleasant stay.
I was pleasantly impressed with this hotel. Great location for my stay within easy walking distance from tube station. Area felt safe and lots to offer being close to Spitalfields and Brick Lane. The reception area was modern and offered excellent facilities with bar/cafe and seating options. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with a quick and easy check in. The room was very clean, basic but modern and I would not hesitate to recommend or stay there again.
The location was unbeatable for the things we wanted to do and see. Close to markets, restaurants, galleries and shops. Close to tube and train lines Staff very nice and helpful
Quite busy when I stayed, still managed to get seated at breakfast, just. Step to bathroom an issue, tripped over it twice. Happy with ibis and my stay.
Great breakfast and room
Great location near train station. Comfortable rooms which are clean. Bathroom is modern capsule. WiFi was bad in my room. Breakfast was very good and popular.
Average
It was average. Literally, average. The building was nice and clean. The staff friendly. The room was okay, until I opened the door for the bathroom. It was a pod! Shocking. I hated it. It was clean, etc., however, it just didn't feel right. It was like being in a plastic tub. Horrid. The service at the bar was really slow. Reminded me of the film Carry On Abroad where the one man does everything. The breakfast was very limited. Overall, it did the job. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Lovely IBIS - handy for Aldgate East Tube - literally next door. Lovely staff - welcoming and friendly. Would recommend for a few nights in London. Interesting and quirky part of the city - with nearby Brick Lane Market / Petticoat Lane Market and Spitalfields.
Great room for the price. Right next to the tube station.
Had everything we needed. Breakfast was really good too
One night
Just one night ..enjoyed my stay.
I’ve stayed in London many times but this was my first stay in Shoreditch. I have to say that the Ibis Shoreditch was a great choice. Between the many food options within walking distance (to include the excellent Spitalfields Market), to the grocery next door and the tube station less than 100 feet away, the location was great. The vibe of the hotel was great, the staff exceedingly helpful and present, and the room itself was nicely decorated, well priced, and comfortable. I have found a new favorite place to stay the next time I’m in London, and that was an unexpected surprise in itself. Thank you for a great stay!
Nice hotel, great location.
Not Cheap not cheerful
Visited as a small family just a couple and a 5 year old. Had to wait for half an hour after check in till the room was ready. Thought the toilets in the lobby were a bad omen when my eyes were stinging as I walked into the gents, probably last cleaned when it was built. Booked a family room but not sure an actual family would fit. A random desk was at the bottom of the bed with a kettle but no plug socket within 4 metres. The fold out bed was something from a Victorian prison and did a great impression of Arkwright’s till. Just the sort of lethal metal death trap you want a 5 year old to use. Luckily the bathroom had clean towels which helped distract from the lack of any extraction in there, unless I mistakenly ticked the Turkish baths option? The shower tray was a level of slipperiness that Torvill and Dean would find challenging and Teflon would probably want to patent. After the second time my kid had fallen over we started using towels inside the cubicle. The room cooling fan had the power of an asthmatic 70 year old smoker, and the tele must have been specially created to infuriate the customer, as with over 30 years IT experience I struggled to get the thing to work, given it was hanging off the wall previous occupants must have had similar issues. In summary, easy access to Aldgate East station, but only stay if you’re a family of Olympic level ice skating borrowers, who always carry a 5m extension cable, hate television and like being excessively warm.
Nice clean room and air con switched on so room was lovely and cool
Economic and efficient hotel in a convenient location.
This hotel is in a very convenient location near to Liverpool Street station, Spitalfields and Brick lane.
Find Somewhere Else!
Luckily we didn't spend too much time in this hotel room during our visit because it was awful! Massively overpriced, I paid over £500 for 2 nights!!! Supposedly a 'Triple' room, it was a disabled room with an extra bed shoved in. There was no space to relax, only 1 plastic desk chair. On arrival we noticed we only had 1 towel each, we managed to ask housekeeping for an extra 3 which they supplied only to take them away again the next day! There were only 2 spare pillows as well for 3 ppl, luckily not all of us wanted an extra pillow as we only noticed after midnight when getting ready for bed! Upon entering our room we were hit with a disgusting smell like stale damp dog! Later we realised the issue would come from the 'wet room' style bathroom with poor drainage and no shower mat! Therefore the carpet just outside the bathroom becomes rather soggy to say the least! There was a distinct lack of plug sockets with only 1 by the beds! Lamps etc are hard wired into the walls so there wasn't even an opportunity to unplug something else. When we got back to the hotel Friday night wanting a drink after being to the theatre, we were astonished to find the bar was closed! Even to residents!! Absolutely shocking, but thankfully being in London there was a pub just a short walk away that was still open! To top it all off, when we aired our views to the reception check out, they simply were not interested. They didn't take any feedback notes, apologise, offer a partial refund.
Not suitable for 60plus, no comforts that I would expect, not good value. No spoon, glasses etc was glad to leave
My stay was convenient and easy
The staff were very helpful
Sufficient
Stay here was ok. Hotel breakfast was sufficient. Area just outside the hotel was very dirty with lots of litter. Close to aldgate east station which was very convenient. Shower drainage issues. They provided large towels but small towels and facecloths had to be requested. They seemed to wash the mugs in the room in the bathroom sink which doesn’t seem hygienic.
I had a relaxing stay at this hotel and would book here again in a heart beat :). Great customer service in a perfect location
Very average hotel. Proximity to tubes is good
Proximity to 2 tubes stations is excellent, but the areas around the hotel entrance is pretty rough. We felt unsafe at night. Spitafields markets nearby. That’s a win! Rooms are small, beds hard, pillows hard. No bar fridges in rooms. Bathrooms are these weird plastic pods. Low roofed and steam up like mad.
Bathroom had someone elses hair in drain, lots of dark long hair and their empty hair shampoo products in shower. This with no shower gel in the shower is poor.
Ok at best
A basic hotel at a higher cost than it’s worth.
Nice hotel but cold food
Lovely hotel, close to transport li ks & attractions. Clean, friendly & modern. Have given 3 stars as we had to adk for hand towels (only 1 bath towel each provided in room & 2 tea bags but staff readily supplied more. Also good variety for breakfast but food only luke warm. Ate in restaurant in evening but again although the food was nice, it was tepid to say the least!).
it was good
Beds and rooms are extremely small. I understand it’s a budget hotel, but prices are over 300 a night for a very basic room.
Nice to see an iron and board already in the room.
Acceptable not great.
Here for a rugby weekend. Prices double usual price. Bar closed at 11. No breakfast on site. Acceptable not great.
The breakfast was very good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Area was a bit sketchy so just have your wits about you.
Really good
Nice hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms, and good service. Within walking distance of The City, and located right next to an Underground station. Would stay here again.
We stayed in this hotel for only one day. There are two undergraduate stations within a few minutes walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is located close to Times river, the Tower of London, the Tower Bridge, and Sky Garden. Our hotel room is a bit small but very clean. The front desk staff was very friendly. We purchased the breakfast and the food was very good. My wife left her ipad in the hotel room and we found it after we landed in Singapore a day after. We used apple "find" app to locate and lock the ipad from Singapore. We then sent the hotel an email on this. The hotel staff responded to us and informed us that their staff did allocate the ipad. We are looking forward to getting it when we return to London tomorrow. Overall we are very happy of our choice of this hotel and highly recommend it.
The hotel and location served my purposes of being out and about for a couple of days in London. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel does not ooze atmosphere and is quite functional, but that was fine.
Our 1 night stay was good. Everything was as we expected from an Ibis in the centre of London.
Great hotel Comfy bed great room handy to the tube just area around the hotel a bit scruffy
The rooms were clean and tidy as was the rest of the hotel. We had drinks and dinner at Charlie’s where the bartender, Malav, took great care of us. Breakfast had a lot of options which was nice - at the helm of it all was Teejay at the front desk, he was extremely helpful with any of our needs as well as extremely friendly. We would highly recommend this location, and be Sure to say hi to Teejay!
Great value
Positives of hotel is next to metro station that connects to all areas of London, rooms and hotel were very clean and recently upgraded (sweet room), large TV, large venting window. Some negatives were, hotel identified as having air conditioning and doesn’t have, not a problem given were visiting in cool week in April and venting window, would be an issue in summer. Another negative was a few homeless outside hotel during entire week.Lastly area is quite busy and noisy. In summary would recommend a stay here, but not in summer due to no air conditioning.
Very basic room at a high price: small room, only one bedside table, very basic bathroom, but it was a quiet room. Busy breakfast: waiting queue to enter, not a lot of space to sit, several things needed refills.
The hotel is close to the bridge, staff was very kind, we liked the hotel, rooms are small (as any hotel in Europe), we expected that. The only down side was from Expedia, I reserved this hotel and it does not include breakfast, I added the option with breakfast and paid for it, When I checked in, we were informed it was not included. Lately is pretty normal that expedia sells options that later the properties or airlines do not include, and Expedia sells is falsely. Considering strongly return to purchase everything directly and not through Expedia anymore.
Fine, clean, bare-bones place to rest your head at night. Additional cost to leave your bags during the day and for breakfast. Not a lot to eat or do just outside the hotel and it's not a great area - but it IS right next to the tube stop, so you can easily access a ride to a nicer area to walk around. A fine place if you just need a clean place and a thin mattress to lie on at night before taking the train to go somewhere else.
Everything was perfect. The staff were friendly, decent breakfast, close to stores and attractions we were interested in, and the view wasn't half bad!
Room smelled musty and sewer-ish. I think the toilet drain was not vented properly and it made the whole room smell like waste. No way to vent the room other than open the window and it was definitely too noisy to sleep with it open.
Toilet is dirty, staff is rude and keep on promoting stuff to us, worse Ibis stay in Uk
A nice hotel in a convenient location, very friendly helpful staff however breakfast was very busy with staff unable to keep up with the demand
They were able to accommodate an early check in for us. This location is extremely close to a subway station and within a walk of at least two other stations, that had more dining options. The facility itself was perfect for a solo traveler, and had a great restaurant to get a hearty snack in the evening. Things out of their control: homeless individuals camped out near by. This may make other people uncomfortable.
If you are traveling and strictly looking for bare-bones lodging, then this is it. Proximity to transportation was nice, but for all three nights we stayed here, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep once. The rooms are temperature controlled by staff and was too hot overnight. We had to request a small desk fan just to get through the night. The room also had no ventilation so our bathroom towels remained constantly damp from the previous day’s shower. Finally, we tried to use the room’s Google Chromecast but it didn’t work. We were told by staff that only some room’s Chromecasts worked, since they were in the midst of getting rid of them.
Was good for the price, and excellent location to get around London. Shower was freezing would be my only criticism.
Totally good. experience
Totally good
Disappointed
I needed somewhere to stay and wanted to be near Brick Lane. It was a late booking and looked fine online. I found the hotel drab, impersonal with no atmosphere.
The room is basic but clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, around the corner from Aldgate East Station and next to a Tesco Express. Rated down slightly because location was very noisy with sirens most of the night and people yelling. I kept the window open because the room was hot . I like it cool. Also, to me the soap they provide smells like body odor. Bring your own soap. Great room for price and short stay. Would do again.
London 15th-18th
Overall was good, bed was nice and comfy. Bathroom was great, shower was spacious & water pressure was lovely Kettle seemed to only work in plug under mirror. Also was a lack of space to put clothes, not a major issue but if staying there for more than 3 days, could have been tricky. Main thing was the TV, there was an option to connect and cast onto the TV but never worked or came up. WiFi also was hit and miss at times
Room was clean and comfortable and the reception staff were really friendly and helpful.
Great stay, would go again
Clean, comfy and great location. Breakfast was excellent in terms of quantity and quality.
A night in Aldwich
hotel is a in great location next to the underground. Many places to eat, hotel is quiet and comfortable.
I was a solo female traveller and I liked the property, especially for the price. I felt safe there, it was clean, and staff seemed nice. The bar wasn’t very busy so I didn’t use it, which I would have liked to. However, the rooms were very hot. I stayed in mid-December, there was no individual AC per room, and the heating in the hotel was cranked to HIGH, so I had to sleep with the window open. Luckily my room looked inward to a courtyard, so it was quiet, I can’t imagine a window onto the road would have been the same!
Good hotel, no wifi
Hotel is fine. No WiFi....! No 5g either so pretty annoying.
Single night
Hotel is convenient close to Algate East with a few places to eat on Commercial Road
thin windows and poor wifi quality
Enjoyed our stay. Polite helpful receptionist. Situated next to the underground.
Surpassing Expectations
Clearly newly refurbished, this hotel surprised me. As one of the “Budget Hotels” of the UK, expectations are never too high - but from the check in, to the room condition, to the bar and general condition of the hotel was very pleasantly surprised. If I’m in the area again, its location, condition and proximity to the tube makes it my first choice.
for the price i would say the room is exceptional. at the same period of time i also stayed in other two traditional hotels and they were much more expensive and the facilities were much less modern than ibis. overall we really enjoyed our stay in Ibis Shoreditch except the breakfast can be very crowded in the morning.
Great service at front desk. Couldn't have been more helpful. V clean. Friendly bar staff. Good breakfast
Clean, neat and cozy!
The hotel was always clean and neat! The breakfast was very good and a large variety. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Great hotel.
Great place next to the tube. You get your money worth not amazing but average. I would recommend cleaning the carpets.
Perfect for an overnight stay in London close to amenities
Very close to the underground tube station, which makes going in the heart of London very easy
Great hotel
This hotel was ideal for a short city break. The room was a good size for a London hotel. Room and common areas were clean and there was an excellent breakfast. The staff worked hard to keep everything refreshed.
Average stay
Our welcome wasn’t the best. The lady on the desk was quite rude, we asked to drop our bags so we could explore; she said “yes well do what you need to do and then I put them away” I said well I’m not sure we never dropped our bags here, she sighed and spoke very patronising towards us. She told us what we needed to do and then put them in the cupboard. She was very blunt and rude. When we got to our room we only had one teabag and one milk so I went downstairs to ask for couple more, and they made out like we already had enough. We stayed 2 nights and we only had one teabag. I felt as though we were an inconvenience the whole time.

Great location. Friendly staff. Very clean
